Wanted to find a non-chain coffee shop after having breakfast nearby. Cajeta sounded like a great place to get our coffee fix. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is in a building with other tenants, so it's not super easy to dee from the street. Just look for the sign on the outside of the door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are some fun specials on the menu, including a marzapan latte, choco banana latte and cold foam, and its signature cajeta, which is a Mexican caramel sauce. O decided to try the choco banana cold foam cold brew. It was very good, but I would have liked a little more cold foam. They also have a limited menu, with some breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Throw in some ice. This is Mexican themed so all the pastries have a Mexican name. I got the cookie with a strawberry middle. I got the hot chocolate and it's served in a huge mug and is piping hot throughout. I'm noticing a cinnamon flavor and asked if they add it, nope it's in the chocolate. Wow! Blown away at how much I prefer it here vs. Anchor Coffee in WBL (both are good) however, Cajeta is phenomenal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the quaintness of the location, the intimacy of each curated drink, the stay in coffee mugs, the two oversized chairs in the reading nook area, the fresh ingredients used, the lack of social media to grab attention and the kindness of the employees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is not a rush through the line as fast as you can mentality, rather, I wanted to stay awhile.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So much so that after I ordered my cafe miel latte, I went back in line to try the breakfast torte. ALERT: MUST get. Skip Keys Cafe and all the other neighboring spots and 100% come here. Best part? Breakfast is served all day and you can order this in a burrito form as well. Choose your protein from bacon, chorizo to ham. I recommend the chorizo. I even added avocado. It's the best breakfast sandwich I've had to date! I cannot stress how important it is to shop small and this will be my new must stop for every trip to WBL. Note: closed on Sunday's. The drinks were amazing. My wife got Horchata Latte and Calabaza Latte and both of them were superb. The service was amazing and they asked 3 times to make sure our order was done correctly. Cajeta Coffee in White Bear Lake is a gem! I ordered a 16oz cappuccino, and it was smooth and delicious. Their torta breakfast sandwich with egg, ham, mayo, and cheese was freshly made, generously portioned, and such a great deal at just $8--I could only finish half! My first impression is always Service...5stars and coffee was too! The first time I stopped, was for a quick late day coffee. Was very pleased and decided to try again. Next arrival I ordered a chai tea and coffee beans to go. Both items were fantastic. I'm excited to have plans to meet a friend there next week for dine in time. Will definitely try some bakery items! I appreciate the small family businesses.
