Approximately half the store is dedicated to various reading materials like comics, manga, and fiction. The other half is board games, RPGs, and supplies for said games (like mini figs and paints, dice, etc.). Throughout the store you'll also find toys, posters, collectibles, comic/trading card storage, and more. There's a lot to look at, so if you've never been, I recommend giving yourself at least an hour to browse around. This game shop also doubles as a community gathering and event space. There's lots of room and tables/chairs in the back to accommodate gamers who want to come in and play or hang and be social. I'm sure they have many specific goings-on each week (for example, I saw a sign advertising mini fig painting every Monday evening!); you can check out their event calendar on their website. There was also a gender ambivalent restroom and water fountain/water bottle refill station nearby. Some beverages were available for sale near the front. It is also quite obviously a safe space, as I saw in addition to the hanging pride flag an entire section dedicated to queer and trans materials, and an end cap as well for POC and disabled folk. I can't say how much it means to me as a trans person to see this kind of representation clearly on display during a challenging political time. I hadn't gone with the intention of buying anything (isn't that typical? lol) but to be honest, when I saw the queer support they were displaying, I wanted to support them back. It wasn't hard to find a couple things I wanted in order to give them my financial business. If you too prioritize supporting local queer businesses, consider buying from here! I normally wouldn't have been up this far north from where I live, but I was headed to a Yelp Elite event a little early and decided to see what else was in the area. So glad I stopped in here! When I arrived - few minutes after opening, I was greeted by friendly employees. We had a short conversation like they asked what do I play. I like that it was casual and I never felt uncomfortable browsing the store. I never felt pressured to buy anything. They had tables in the back of the store for tournaments. The staff was helpful to help me locate certain cards - they were not able to tell me if the card was in stock, but they looked up the card and was able to point which box the card may be located in. (At the time, it looks like they were updating their cards/inventory/pricing. They found the card I was looking for and hand it to me.) Again, the place felt casual because even though I found my card, I kept browsing and they let me look through. I'm glad they didn't say, "will that be all for today" after finding the card I was looking for. Overall, I will be back for more cards.

They also have singles and sealed sports cards. I've been coming here for about two years and before the boom in One Piece and Pokemon they were always stocked with the best prices. Nowadays just like everywhere else you can't find anything sealed. Although I haven't gone to a release myself they do a great job at distributing product at good prices. I love coming in when I'm up in Maple Grove and will continue to come back!

I was excited to purchase this pair of earrings after being told they were $200. I asked if they would honor the price I had been quoted, especially since I had already made the decision to buy based on that amount. They refused. Whether it was a genuine mistake or not, changing the price by 50% at the point of sale and refusing to honor the quoted price is incredibly unprofessional. It left a very poor impression I walked away without making a purchase. I understand that mistakes happen, but if you quote someone a price you should keep your word and honor it, even if it means losing a few bucks. A friend even tried to remind them of their quote on the final day or the con as they were not sold and they told her no as well. If you're shopping here, I recommend confirming the final price before getting attached to anything. I couldn't stop thinking about these earrings all weekend. I would have never gotten my hopes up if I heard $300 to start with.

They do have quite of selection of imported goods alongside American IP merchandise. The prices range from reasonable to pricey, so you may get lucky with a steal! The saleswoman behind the stand was so kind and patient with us. There were a few products I was eyeing and she pulled each and every one of them out individually in order for me to get a better look. Even the assortment of acrylic keychains, she went through each one individually until she found the character I wanted. She didn't have to but it was such a lovely gesture! We got to talking about our favorite characters, and once we found out we shared the same interest, she pulled out this pristine vintage plush from hidden behind the counter and offered it to me at a decent price, and I knew I had to get it then and there (as well as the keychain). I'm nowhere near their brick and mortar store, but if you happen upon these people at a local con, check them out! They're knowledgable and friendly and a pleasure to deal with!

There's a TON of inventory in the back room waiting to be organized and put out, but I get that takes a while. It didn't feel the most shopper-ready yet. My brother found some things he was excited about, and I found a few unique books! The owner is so kind and has plans to do DND and game nights as well as music nights with all their space. 3 books was ~$40 so not the most affordable prices, but I'm not super tuned in with what comic books run. I think in a few more months the space will be more visitor-ready with more inventory available to look through!

They are in a new location since our last visit (used to be in Eagan). Per usual, everyone was friendly and helpful. I found a Harriet Tubman comic that I didn't even know existed. I bought the two copies they had. Everything was well organized and easy to peruse both the free and paid comics they have. This space is much smaller than their previous location. Fortunately, everyone was masked, which made us feel more at ease. One of the things I really love about this place, in addition to the fact that it's POC owned, is that I can be an all-out geek and nerd without getting any side eye. Chatting with the staff is fun and I always learn something new. I don't follow the comic world closely, so getting an update and to see the excitement of the person talking is quite infectious. It's probably why I've yet to spend less than $40 when we go there. Whether it's FCBD or not, this is the play for comics, graphic novels, and all kinds of things that you'll not find anywhere else. I'm honestly torn writing this because this place has been a part of my life for as long as I can…read moreremember. I've been going to this hobby store since the 1980s when I was just a kid, going there with my late father. It was one of those places that helped build a lifelong love for RC cars and the hobby itself. Now, decades later, I genuinely enjoy taking my own children there and sharing that same experience with them. It's something really special to me and my family. That's why this situation has been so hard. I dropped off an RC truck for repair and expected it might take some time. What I didn't expect was how long it actually took -- months and months passed while I waited. Eventually, when I called to check on it, I was told the truck had already been surrendered after 90 days. That news was absolutely heartbreaking. This wasn't just a piece of equipment to me. It was something I had invested a lot into and something tied to years of enjoyment in this hobby. I understand that businesses have policies, and I don't doubt they have rules in place, but learning about it only after the fact made the loss feel even worse. What makes this especially difficult is that I truly love this store. It's been part of my life story from childhood to now as a parent. I honestly can't imagine not going there anymore, and that's what makes this situation so emotionally complicated for me. I'm not posting this to attack anyone. I'm just really torn and hurt by how this played out, and I wish there had been more communication before it reached that point.
