Every time we walk in, we are greeted by welcoming people! The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Comics: The new comics section is great, but other shops do have larger sections. I haven't had an issue getting the books I want. If you sign up for their free subscription plan for new comics you get 10% off! I hope they start keeping back issues at this location. They have had them on special occasions but not like the other locations. Me and my girlfriend love looking through dollar boxes and discount bins when we are looking for new stories to read. If possible, please do more back issues!!! :) Trading Cards: Their trading card section like every other game store is always running low. They carry pretty much all your big games (Pokemon, MTG, One Piece, Lorcana, Yugioh, ect) as well as smaller games. The prices however are all over the place. We have picked up Pokemon and One Piece at retail prices, but sometimes they are over market. They aren't always that way, so I am curious how they price their sealed products. I haven't played MTG in a while and was curious about a bundle they had it seemed a bit high to me, and I looked it up on TCG Player when I got home and it was well over market price. I am not complaining because this is how every store operates nowadays and everybody wants the product! Can't be mad at it. Overall, the store is great and the people are nice. If they could expand their comic sections and add back issues, we would spend more money here!

They have a large selection of back issues and new releases. If you are looking for graphic novels instead don't worry they've probably got what you are looking for. I do wish they had more $1 books and more expensive wall books, but overall a good amount of inventory to browse through. They also have Funko Pops, Board Games, Magic the Gathering, and other TCGs. This was a very welcoming space and the guy at the counter helped me out with a few questions I had. We will be back!

I choose my game shops largely based on interactions with the staff. They can make or break your experience. Mikey was incredibly inviting and upbeat - definitely made us want to come back! O - Opportunity to meet other people that love to game. Rockhopper drew a pretty decent crowd for being open such a short time. Can't wait to see it on a busy day. C - Commander nights on Saturdays and Tuesdays starting at 4pm. Most places start later and make it tough to work into your schedule. This is a huge win for me. K - Knowledge. There is nothing worse than a game store owner that knows nothing about games. Mikey had all the information pertaining to games, sets, scheduling, and his clientele. He's a real one. H - Hangover commander. Yes. Sundays are the day for hangover commander, D&D, and whatever else people are feeling like after a rough Saturday night. We love to see it. O - Open to everyone. As they should be. Happy Pride Month! P - Penguin theme. Self explanatory. P - Pretty good selection of comics, singles, board games, and other various game related items. E - Environment. The location and the vibe were very cool to us. It's nice to have a gaming location outside of the cities that is doing everything right! R - Raffles. Always fun. This particular location has a good amount of board games available. So great for picking up or discovering a new board game. TCGs are a joke. They have no respect for MSRP (how much the retailer says its cost is). They will GOUGE you. They don't respect regular players. Playing weekly will not save you from the potential 4 times as much upcharge for product. When they receive *free* promos to give out for weekly TCGs- they won't make you go another round to have an ultimate winner- you can go undefeated and they still will not give you the "winners" pack. All other game stores in MN wouldn't keep their free promos like that. Again, staff is great- be kind. But DONT make this your new card shop. The company doesn't care about you at all- straight vultures.

I started playing MTG this month and decided to go to this event alone... well, I was suppose to meet my husband's best friend, but he had a family emergency. It was intimidating at first when majority of the customers were guys. My only experience with MTG was playing against my husband. (My husband was unable to go to this event.) The staff members were friendly, professional, and patient. When I first arrived, I was looking at the Duskmourn bundles, commander deck, etc that were sitting behind the counter. The place was busy as staff members were checking in customers for the event, but I was approached and offered assistance quick. I also appreciate one of the staff members who took the time to help me assembled my deck and gave me advice - I had no idea what I was doing. The staff members seemed very knowledgeable of the new expansion(?), as well as how to play the game. I interacted with some of the guys attending the event who seemed nice and friendly. My opponent was also friendly and patient - he even offered friendly advice and gave me a chances to reconsider my moves. The staff members checked in after the first round. The staff members were very understanding and accommodating when I needed to leave the event early. They even said "bye" as I was leaving. Overall, it was a good experience. I wish I was a better MTG player, but time will get there. I also find it cool that they serve food there. There was lots of space to sit. They offer a variety of card sleeves, deck boxes, dices, and a ton of single MTG cards. It is also where the Lady Planeswalker Society (women who plays MTG) meets. I would definitely come back and try to make more MTG friends.

They also have singles and sealed sports cards. I've been coming here for about two years and before the boom in One Piece and Pokemon they were always stocked with the best prices. Nowadays just like everywhere else you can't find anything sealed. Although I haven't gone to a release myself they do a great job at distributing product at good prices. I love coming in when I'm up in Maple Grove and will continue to come back!

Unfortunately we didn't see any comic books and that's usually why we stop in. They had a tournament going on in the back and we didn't want to inconvenience and interrupt anyone to check. The employees were busy but were still able to help us get a few things. Prices are what you expect at a retail store, higher than online for the most part. If you are looking to play in tournaments, have a fun dnd or board game night this would be a good place to do it.
