One of my favorite cafes in Saint Paul! The owners are so awesome, and passionate about great service, coffee, and community. One of the owners has the law office upstairs, so all the drinks have legal names - it's so fun! And their drinks have such delicious and unique flavors. This place is so unexpectedly cozy and stunning - their tile floors, decor, and gorgeous seating makes you feel transported out of Minnesota. I love recommending this spot to folks who want to catch up with a friend or work remote! They also serve some Latinx-owned goods and products here too, so you can do a little shopping in their mercado. Such a darling spot! read more

I just love this little coffee shop! I've only been able to stop in during events before, so stopping in on my own recently was a treat. The shop itself is super cute. I love the tiles and the chairs. The coffee is delightful. If you get a hot coffee, they will put a little design in the foam on the top. On this particular trip, I got two iced drinks, a Motion Granted (coconut) and brought home the Fearless Lawtte (spicy) for hubs. I also couldn't help but to pick up a bottle of Vichy Catalan water to bring home as well. The mercadito has such lovely items. Definitely make a stop in to this adorable coffee shop. read more

Love their banana latte and their pastries are so good! This location is small but cozy and the staff are always so friendly! The tables are small so it can be hard to get work done along with minimal plug ins but I have managed to get things done if I don't have too many papers or devices needed! read more

A small, warm and cozy local cafe! There's limited seating but it makes you feel like you've been whisked away from MN. There was one staff member when I was there, and they were so attentive and speedy despite of the mounting workload. Also, had the chance to try their seasonal Connie's Affogato (using vanilla ice cream from Connie's Cone up the road) and I've truly never had a better version!!! For a private event, I finally got to visit this legal-themed coffee shop owned and operated by a latine lawyer couple -- both of whom were foreign trained lawyers that also graduated from MHSL. They have a law office above the coffee shop and offer their clients a complimentary drink upon arrival. The drinks are cleverly named after legal terms and most importantly they're delicious! They're constantly rotating drink specials and the shop has treats imported from Honduras and other Latin American countries. The service and ambiance reflects warm, hospitable latine culture and though they've only been open for about four years to date, it exudes a more established feeling that is a testament to the brand they've built! read more

Very nice customer service from the lone barista who helped me this day. I love a pun and a theme and this cafe does it well combining the lawyer and Latin themes together. I was served a nice Lawtte drink with a fun latte art design although as a former barista I am not a super fan of using a machine versus traditional latte art by hand. It was however cute and different. There were some nice snacks for sale and a nice variety of beverages . My main gripe is the price for a cortado being the same as a latte. No where should those be the same price- $7! (4oz vs 12oz). They don't up charge for milk which is a positive thing and only reason I actually ordered after looking at the menu. Nice indoor and outdoor seating with a nice flow of customers bustling in on the weekday I stopped in. I would stop by if in the area and because I love to support local plus the barista was one of the friendliest ones I had encountered in a while. read more

It isn't super big so it is good to get there early to secure one of the tables. The service is also always stellar! And, they have a Frogtown Curling Club logo for the top of a latte!! A tiny cafe with the sweetest staff and some of the most delicious drinks I've ever had! They were so busy when we first arrived and I was amazed how quickly the line went. There are only a handful of tables but after just a few minutes of waiting one cleared and we were able to enjoy our coffee in the cute dine in area. It was so nice coming here for the first time! I've always driven by it and this time I decided it was time. It's a small charming coffee shop and I love that I can see products of my culture represented in the small store they have. They add a good amount of chairs and tables. I went with an iced coffee drink that had some banana taste to it and it was delicious! I also decided to get this pastry that had spinach and cheese and it was just so good! Customer service was fantastic and he helped me decided on a drink. Over all I loved this place and can see myself coming here a lot more often. They do have a small parking lot for like 3-4 cars otherwise because it's tucked in a neighborhood street parking is easy as well. read more

As other Yelpers state this a charming place located in an area short of good coffee. They have a menu of drinks with clever names. The two staff members were friendly and informative. They are open limited hours, closing by 1:00 p.m. everyday. I was looking for food and there was one pastry left. There are no kitchen facilities so they can't prepare dishes or do baking. I was told they're food is made elsewhere and they could warm the items. Needing something to go with my brewed I saw a box of Alfajores which is Caramel Cookies. A box of four scrumptious cookies with creamy insides. Beware these cookies I thought were grossly overpriced. The simple brewed is a cross of a medium to dark roast and was satisfying. The 16 oz brew is the most I've paid anywhere, topping $5 for the first time. Others will probably soon catch up on the price. read more

This is one charming neighborhood cafe! You'll find it right where Como and North End meet, in a quiet residential area a few blocks north of that dicey Dale/Front/Como intersection. There's always plenty of street parking available, but they do appear to have a couple of off-street spaces. The cafe is owned by the same folks who own the adjoining law firm, and thanks to that there are a lot of playful legal puns on the menu like the "Fearless Lawtte", the "Motion Granted", and my favorite, the banana-milky "ReSipsa Lawquitur". This is also a Latina-owned business, and you can expect that to inform many of their recipes. Most recently I had a holiday-themed drink with a Mexican-style dash of pepper, and it had the absolute perfect amount of pepper to balance the other tasty ingredients. They have a pastry cabinet which depletes throughout the day, but if you're there early enough you can try one of their very satisfying danishes, croissants, etc. They also have coffee beans and other market items available. The service is extremely friendly and the decor is dainty and thoughtful. And although I usually enjoy the dine-in experience, when I get my coffee to go it comes in a fully-compostable cup and lid, which I appreciate. It's just a really pleasant cafe all around and I am positive that you will love it. read more

I discovered this sweet little spot through a random search, and I've now been there twice. The ambiance could not be more charming, the beverages are delightful and delicious, the pastries are decadent, and the servers are super friendly. First impressions review: 3.5 I went on a Saturday around brunch time, so street parking was limited (it's a residential area with current construction around) and they seemed to have a steady influx of customers. I wasn't going to eat in so I didn't take the time to look around, but the area near the cashier was definitely full. Props to the two men handling all of the orders! I wish they had more cold coffee options. I got the cold brew with oat milk and French vanilla syrup. With a warmed sweet Danish pastry, that brought me up to $18, which seems a lot to me for a pastry and some coffee. But, the pasty was delicious and the coffee was also good. I'll probably try a flavored hot drink the next time I go to avoid the add-on charges. read more

I hit this place up while visiting family in MN. It's right on the corner and I didn't see a parking lot, but we parked on the street behind it. The entrance and ordering area is very small but there is an area for sitting off to the side. Clean and tidy with full on coffee shop vibes and decor. We were greeted as we entered and the person at the counter was friendly. They were very busy around 9:00am on a weekday, but service was quick. I ordered an Iced Americano and a coffee cake. I really enjoyed the Americano but $5.00 for a small gets my side eye. Iced Americano - 4 Star- Bold with a sharp espresso bite upfront but a smooth and flavorful finish. $5.00 is just to much for me. It would need to be an outstanding espresso to justify the price, and this was just good. This cafe is a work of art. I enjoyed my "Motion Granted" warm drink and worked for a bit. I ordered a pastry but it was not so good (they cannot warm up food, wish I had known before buying). Learning the history of the cafe was touching - I had a nice interaction with Init (one of the owners). The owners law offices are located upstairs of the cafe. This was my first time trying this cafe. The inside was very cute and homey and way different than what I thought it would be after looking at the outside. Loved the tile flooring and on the counters. My americano was really smooth and good but my one feedback piece would be to get better lids for the to go cups. I love compostable products but this type of lid was more of a paperish top and I ended up spilling coffee all over my clothes because it wouldn't stay on properly and kept leaking everywhere. To have this establishment in the Saint Paul neighborhood is definitely a blessing because I doubt that there is another one like such within geographical proximity. It is a plus that Abogado's is Latinx owned and (partially) women owned. I managed to have a conversation with Inti when I was there, and asked him about his background and experience of being a lawyer and a coffee shop owner. It would have been nice to meet Ofelia as well but she was somewhere else during that time. I loved everything about the decor and the atmosphere. I also loved the presentation of the drinks that my partner and I had gotten: the Chocolate Mexicano and the Summery Judgment. The Summery Judgment took a bit of time to get used to, as upon first tasting it I was a bit skeptical of the botanical tonic water and espresso combination, but eventually I learned to like it and it turned out fine! The Chocolate Mexicano was so well-decorated, that unfortunately to me, the flavor did not live up to its appearance or its price of $10. The natural sweetness from the chocolate was relatively weak, which I thought might have been a lack of balance between the sugar content in the chocolate and added sugar (if there was any). When I was tasting it, I was trying to compare it to Ibarra or Abuelita, and I knew that added cane sugar would help elevate the sweetness from the chocolate as well. Regardless, with all that said, I would love to return in the future and try more of their drinks and even pastries! This was a pleasant experience learning about a small business like such that was personally relatable, and I look forward to seeing this coffee shop continue to flourish. I understand that my 4-star review is based on a very limited choice of items and that this café will probably have many items that are just amazing, so I would love to return and try more of their options and even provide an updated review! read more

This is the Twin Cities first Latino owned company so if you are trying to support local - look no further! Tried this place for the first time and I loved it! The shop is so cute and they have beautiful murals and paintings on the walls. They also have some room to sit and enjoy your coffee. The staff was so warm and patient. The coffee drink I got had cinnamon and cayenne which definitely had a kick. I absolutely loved the coffee. It was well-roasted with just the right amount of flavors and sweetness. They also sell their coffee beans and other merch.
