I sat here to work on a busy Saturday. It's a super cute space and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Seating is a bit tricky because they are quite busy but they had wifi and my coffee was good. Street parking is available.

What brought me to Luminary Coffee was my 16 oz Days Coffee Compass Pass that I picked up a few weeks ago, and I'm glad it led me here. Stopped in a little after noon on a beautiful Sunday. Such a relaxing chill vibe here. The shop is nestled between a boutique and another store, and you can actually walk through them without stepping outside--super charming and convenient. Shelby was working the register and made us feel immediately welcome. She was so friendly, upbeat, and happy to share recommendations. We ended up ordering the Lunar Latte, Campfire Latte, and Cozy Cancer Latte--all were excellent, with thoughtful, unique flavors. The space is kind of small but very cozy, with a bar area and a few tables. You can tell it's a neighborhood favorite--I noticed several regulars came in and chatted with the staff, which was nice to see. It gives the whole place a homey, community feel. Plus, it's in a really cute area of St. Paul with other small shops, restaurants, and places to explore within walking distance--perfect for a relaxed afternoon out. One small wish--I've heard amazing things about the Iced Cosmic Campfire Latte and would love to see it make a comeback on the menu! Note: Street parking only, but it's worth the quick search. Luminary Coffee is a true gem, and I look forward to my next visit!

Loved this dog friendly coffee shop! Lots of space out back on the patio on nice days. Several unique coffee drinks on the menu. Baristas were so friendly and nice, and speedy. A little tough to find the entrance (not labeled very clearly) but I think that adds to the charm. They have a printer on site too! Check them out!

I've been wanting to visit this coffee shop ever since it open just a few months ago. And finally got to and absolutely adored everything about it. It's located across from Whole Foods and it is connected to another business which I think is such a great idea. There was a patio in the back that was available but the day I went it was cold and rainy. I went around 4 o'clock, and there was a few people in there, there was music playing and the owner took my order and I loved her energy. She was very kind and friendly. The drink I got was the chailie brown latte and this was the one I've been wanting to get and it literally tasted like fall in a cup. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend!

Luminary is one of my favorite coffee shops I've found since living in St. Paul. The atmosphere is amazing and so is their coffee. All the staff are so kind and welcoming and I ALWAYS look forward to their little whiteboard surveys they have at the counter. My favorite, go-to drinks are always a 16oz iced lunar latte with soy milk and the 16oz iced dirty chai-le brown with soy milk (this one is seasonal, but I love when it makes a comeback!).

A friend recommended I try luminary and I'm glad I did! Before going, I looked through their instagram and learned the owner, Danielle started Luminary during Covid and the overall theme is astrology. From the drink names to the decor and even down to the Wi-Fi password, it's all incorporated so well. I tried the cozy cancer iced which I loved. It has cinnamon, brown sugar and chai. So delicious! I love that there are various specialty drinks which cater to anything you may be craving. There's a good amount of space and free Wi-Fi to bring a laptop too. Overall a great spot!

That big dollop of whipped honey on top is unreal. The space itself is great for getting work done. Lots of natural light, big open windows, and different seating options that makes it feel really inviting. It can get pretty busy during peak times, so finding a seat can be a little tricky but they have a shared table system where you can grab a card if you're open to sitting with others. It's such a fun, community-focused touch and a great way to meet people or just make space when it's crowded. The staff is super kind and welcoming, which makes it even better. They also do a great job with their seasonal drinks and pastries.

Walking in, there are lots of wood accents, stools, booths and PLENTY of plug ins if you want to come here and study/get work done! The service was disappointing to be honest. This place had the vibes to have such a fun crew working and instead we barely even got 2 words for the person who rang us up. The person who made our drinks also had zero interaction. Such a missed opportunity! This is why I removed a star. The coffee: This is one of my new favorite coffees I have ever had! I got an iced whipped honey latte and it was DELICIOUS! The coffee wasn't overly bitter, had good flavor and the whipped honey was definitely a unique treat! Overall, I really did enjoy my time at this coffee shop! It definitely can get busy but don't let that deter you from getting a delicious coffee from these guys! Oh and yes, they do have some snack/lunch/bakery items here to if you get hungry!!

We came around 1pm on a weekday and there was a bit of a wait as it was only one person making drinks and serving customers. They have an extensive menu with so many specialty drinks. It was a bit of decision fatigue before finally landing on our order. I tried the bananarama chai and my friend had their lychee matcha. The matcha almost tasted completely fruity with no actual matcha taste, to the point where it came off more like a smoothie or juice than a caffeinated drink. My chai wasn't bad, but I didn't get much of the banana flavor. The space itself has a few tables and there is free WiFi as well. They always announce new seasonal drinks so I may come back if anything catches my eye.

I do like the fact that they will use black or green tea with any of their drinks. I'm not a green tea fan, so that's an important option for me. I got a black fruit tea with pineapple and passion fruit with strawberry popping bobas. The tea had a perfect blend of flavors and the boba was cooked just right. We also got a cookies and cream smoothie with tapioca. My son said it was the best one he's had! He also got a banh mi. He said it was good, but not great. The pork could have been more flavorful and it needed more cilantro. Overall, I recommend this place! Give them a try!

The aesthetic is not the typical cutsie boba shop vibe. It is elevated, sort of Tuscan garden with comfortable wicker furniture, gorgeous and ample seating, outlets along the wall and plants everywhere. I stumbled upon this place while praying and hoping for a quiet place to finish my workday. I could not have been more fortunate as the owner was taking a middday music break, allowing complete peace as I worked and sipped on my tea. Now I have absurdly high standards when it comes to see. The medium versus large is a mere $0.50~ difference so go for the large. I forgot to request light ice, but guess what!?!? The ice was light and the tea and boba heavy. The perfect proportion and bang for my buck. Okinawa bubble tea had chocolate-y notes and was excellent. Without ordering any cheese foam, my milk tea was rich and creamy. And did I mention they have a ginormous me-sized replica of my bubble tea!?!? It's just chef's kiss all around.

They have a huge variety of beans, and they will grind them for you if you like. The shop is small, and it has that awesome coffee aroma inside and out, but their coffee is plenty expensive. Also, be warned that if you're the type of person who likes to enjoy their coffee without politics, you might be somewhat put off by the Liberal-forward vibe of this shop, what with some of the coffees being named after Liberal politicians, ie "Obama Blend" or as others have mentioned here a coffee named after Bernie Sanders. The staff at the shop were always polite enough to me, and I never experienced name calling as another reviewer did, but then I don't wear my politics on my sleeve or confront others about theirs. After all, I only went there to buy coffee, not change the world or anyone's philosophical, political, or religious views. Recently, (January 2026), I drove the 15 some-odd miles to their shop only to find they had closed that day to attend protests in a "No Work, No School, No Shopping" strike due to law enforcement activity in the cities. I enjoy supporting local small businesses, but the "Politics First, Customer Last" business model doesn't work for me. Besides, I feel like they must be doing pretty well financially if they can just close up shop unannounced without so much as a notification on their website or phone answering message to warn customers who might actually be driving a fair distance, burning real gasoline which costs real money, to buy their stuff. I liked their coffee, but it just isn't worth the expense or inconvenience to me anymore, so I go elsewhere.
