We've been travelling around the Cities to try new coffeeshops and the latest trip was to Quixotic! Cute and buzzing coffeeshop was filled with energy on our Saturday morning trip! There was a small line but it moved quickly. There are some tables and booths for small to medium groups, but they fill up fast! We were lucky to snag one! Staff was quick and efficient at taking our orders and getting everything out to us! Enjoyed a latte and a breakfast sandwich on this trip, and both were delicious! If you are looking for a great iced coffee, look no further! This place is located in a bustling area of St. Paul! It's street parking but it is free. Walking in, there are lots of wood accents, stools, booths and PLENTY of plug ins if you want to come here and study/get work done! The service was disappointing to be honest. This place had the vibes to have such a fun crew working and instead we barely even got 2 words for the person who rang us up. The person who made our drinks also had zero interaction. Such a missed opportunity! This is why I removed a star. The coffee: This is one of my new favorite coffees I have ever had! I got an iced whipped honey latte and it was DELICIOUS! This is hands down the best cold brew in Minnesota. They do nitro really well, but the rotating seasonal cold brews are next level. The whipped honey cold brew is my absolute favorite. That big dollop of whipped honey on top is unreal. The space itself is great for getting work done. Lots of natural light, big open windows, and different seating options that makes it feel really inviting. It can get pretty busy during peak times, so finding a seat can be a little tricky but they have a shared table system where you can grab a card if you're open to sitting with others. It's such a fun, community-focused touch and a great way to meet people or just make space when it's crowded. The staff is super kind and welcoming, which makes it even better. They also do a great job with their seasonal drinks and pastries. read more

Some people love this place, so even though it hasn't risen to the level of my favorites, it definitely might be your vibe. It's right in the heart of the busy part of Highland park, right across from the Highland Theater, and consequently parking isn't straightforward. But just as consequently, it's a neat area to hang out in. There is plenty of seating inside, including a designated quiet room as well as a couple of picnic tables on the sidewalk. The coffees I've gotten have been sweet, pleasant concoctions of the sort that I'm generally in the market for, and if you dine-in and order an iced coffee, it's served in a cool-looking can-shaped glass. They have a pastry case with items from Patisserie 46, and that means they have an elevated cost. This place is popular so expect a line, but the staff are all pros so they'll get through it quickly. read more

Rainy days are my favorite to slow down and enjoy small moments. A good coffee and pastry pairing with a light rain made for a calm chill morning. Thanks to @quixoticcoffee in Highland are of St. Paul I had never been here and was surprised by how cozy it was and how many people were hunkered down working, visiting, relaxing etc. there were lots of spaces to find a cozy spot solo or with others. This place is adorable and perfect to loose track of time and enjoy a coffee. I tried a simple iced vanilla latte, the coffee was really good and will definitely be back again for a brew. Also got a warmed up chocolate croissant to go. (if you're not asking for it warmed up...you're missing out) accidentally smooshed it in my purse but it was still warm and delicious. I came here on a random Thursday late morning and wow was this spot packed. Not a seat available. Luckily someone left just as we needed a spot. I know I've been here several years ago but can't for the life of me remember what it was like then though I know it's been greatly improved. Truth be told I didn't try the black coffee which is the key to a good coffee shop. But I saw they served Backstory beans so I didn't need too as they are one of my top roasters in the city. Instead I tried the pumpkin cream cold brew. I've been loving all the places doing things like this. Not as sweet as the lattes but with a nice hit of flavor. I really enjoyed it. Though noticed a lot of the good stuff ended up at the bottom pretty quickly. I'll definitely be coming here more now that I know they serve Backstory and sell their beans. I just don't know if I'd come to hang out with the lack of comfortable seating. For anyone wanting to get work done though as long as a seats available to Quixotic will work great! read more

I walked in here because 1) I really needed coffee after landing super early into MSP and 2) I was intrigued by their speciality coffees. I eventually decided on Marco Polo which is a cold brew with caramel & vanilla. It was the perfect amount of sweetness that I like. I knew that I would like it based on the description, but I loved it upon my first sip. It really satisfied the early morning coffee craving that I had. Finally got to check out Quixotic! It's one of the places on my coffee compass list. I like the general aesthetic of this coffee shop. Various seating options, especially liked the booths. They also have a private meeting room which is nice. They also have some tables outside. I checked out some of the drinks on the specials menu. I got the matcha-mallow & s'mocha. Such a cute coffee shop - with lots of booths (if you are looking for a coffee shop to work from, this is a great option) and easy street parking. We were looking for a coffee place that had some light breakfast options Stumbled upon Quixotic and glad we did. The space is really cute and cozy and the coffee and food were fantastic. They have seasonal specials, some hot options for food, and a variety of pastries. We opted for a pesto wrap and a pastry with our coffees. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and am so happy I finally did! drinks: I got their matcha (iced) with caramel and oat milk and I'm obsessed. I forgot to ask if they make their oat milk or what brand their using because it was so good. I'm curious to try their other in house syrups to taste the difference. My friend got a vanilla matcha with whole milk and that was tasty too! service/ etc.: I LOVE a booth when I'm studying or working, so it's an automatic fav for me and there's SO many and a lot of other seating. they have 1 bathroom and it's nice and clean. Plenty of booth seating, table seating, and outlets (quite comfortable and easy to lock in!). Lovely 10/10 kombucha which they have revolving flavors for, and I would say regular priced. Such a pleasant surprise! First off the staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. They source all of their food and products locally which I LOVE! They have kombucha from a local company on tap and gave free samples so that we could find one we liked before purchasing (lemon berry was so good)! We also got a wrap which was delicious and fresh! Decaf latte and they said the syrup is made in house and it was very good. I love that they have a room in the back you can reserve for $10/hr (and they give that back in gift card to purchase products when you are there). I will be doing this!! Best part of this coffee shop is the warm interior. What a cozy vibe! There is a bar you can sit at; booths and table or a large space for a group. Quixotic is a gem and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to try it! SO glad I finally stopped in to try it over the weekend and yes it lived up to the hype. I had a BOGO coupon, so I went with the marko polo and white lightening, both were iced, and I thought very tasty. Walking to my vehicle in the first cold of the season, I found myself wishing I would have opted for the hot Notorious FIG drink, so I'll be back very soon to try that. Although, I planned to just get the coffees, my eyes spotted the molasses ginger cookie and that was seriously a standout cookie for me. Perfect balance of molasses and spice. The gal at the register was very nice and chatty which I always appreciate and makes for a great experience. There wasn't many spots to sit as the place was hoping, but there are booths and bar stools. Just a cute cozy place. I often go on runs with Saint City Running next door on Saturday mornings and this is a must post-run stop for a coffee and a well-earned pastry. On my last visit, I got an espresso and a donut. I am not sure where they get the pastries from, but the donut was on point - a dense cake donut with tasty frosting. The espresso was very good as well. The line moves kind of slowly, so don't get in a huff if things take a while. There are places to sit and a lot of light coming in the front windows, so it is a good place to chill and enjoy the post-cardio runners high with some caffeine. read more

We did not have to wait in line or for a table which was surprising because it seemed pretty busy. They were playing all of my favorite songs and the lighting was not too harsh. Nice atmosphere but...1) virtually all multi-person tables were occupied by 'sitters,' one person nursing a drink and a computer at a multi-person table. The pastries were dried up and cold. The staff people were pretty busy with their phones; it was tough to get their attention. The coffee came in the cheapest paper cup on the planet that was on the verge of collapse. I was only semi-impressed with Quixotic Coffee. I do really like the actual inside of the cafe, there's a lot of different seating, including booths, tables, and even a small room you can reserve. It's a great place to bring a family or come to get some work done. The coffee is ok, but just ok. I've had much better in the Twin Cities, but it's still way over any chain coffee shop. We were not impressed at all with the acai bowls. They were extremely small, the base was very watery, and they were stingy with the toppings. I definitely would not come here for acai. I'd say Quixotic is a great place to hang out, but expect slightly above average coffee and not so good acai bowls. read more

It's a great place for working if you can snag a spot toward the back, as the front area tends to be busier with people walking in and placing orders. I also appreciated that they have a small room available for up to six people to reserve if needed--a nice touch for group work. Some of the best coffee I've had! Their specialty cold brews are no joke. I'm a fan of sweeter coffee so I asked the barista what their sweetest cold brew was. She said the Marko polo would be their sweetest drink but they can make any of their cold brews sweeter based on request. When looking at the other drinks the barista mentioned the chocolate milk was delicious so I was leaning towards those. I ended up getting the rockless road which was cold brew, chocolate milk and hazelnut syrup. After getting my drink the barista mentioned she made it a little sweeter for me and let me try it in case I wanted it to be sweeter. She was so friendly and helpful when ordering!! It ended up tasting delicious based on the accommodations she already made. It was the perfect balance of coffee, milk and hazelnut for me! I definitely want to come back and try their other cold brew with chocolate milk which comes with almond syrup instead of hazelnut; the deniro. Overall I was so satisfied with my experience and the service I received. The coffee was delicious as I mentioned, and there's also a good amount of seating to come and get some work done as well. I was thoroughly impressed by Quixotic Coffee! I arrived 45 minutes after opening on a Saturday morning. Within an hour the place was packed. The barista (I didn't catch her name) seemed to know everyone on a first name basis! I enjoyed a few hours of studying at one of their booths. I enjoyed the privacy the tall booth sides added. Even though the place was a madhouse, I was able to focus. There's a large meeting room in the back of the shop too. I enjoyed a Valentine's Day special - a strawberry milk mocha, and a chocolate crueler. Both were delicious! I was impressed by the self-serve water station and the gluten free bakery options they offered.
