Quixotic has great matcha! My friend and I stopped in after a Lifetime class for a matcha. The line was going out the door but it moved fairly quick. The workers were friendly and helpful despite how busy it was. I had the sesame latte with the unsweetened matcha powder and would definitely get it again! My friend had a plain matcha with honey and oat milk and she loved hers too. Seating was limited because it was so busy but it was a Saturday morning when we went so I'm sure weekdays are less busy. We ended up finding an open table outside to chat and enjoy the matcha. They had a lot of baked good that looked delicious too. I will be back, just maybe not on a weekend morning!
Loved swinging by for a matcha after a workout class! They are part of the coffee compass book so I went with my friend to do the BOGO and try the matcha for the first time. I love how they have an option for sweetened or unsweetened matcha powder. I opted for the unsweetened and added some honey, it was the perfect level of sweetness. We ended up sitting outside since the weather was nice, I was a bit surprised at how busy it was inside! The line moved quickly though and our server was helpful in answering our questions. Overall I would definitely be back!
Stopped to grab a quick bite to eat and tried their spinach and feta croissant. I should have asked them to warm it up but it was solid nonetheless. I love that they don't do an upcharge for non dairy milk options because honestly that's robbery and no longer justified in 2026. It's a cute place with ample seating and I will definitely return to try their chai latte!
Some people love this place, so even though it hasn't risen to the level of my favorites, it definitely might be your vibe. It's right in the heart of the busy part of Highland park, right across from the Highland Theater, and consequently parking isn't straightforward. But just as consequently, it's a neat area to hang out in. There is plenty of seating inside, including a designated quiet room as well as a couple of picnic tables on the sidewalk. The coffees I've gotten have been sweet, pleasant concoctions of the sort that I'm generally in the market for, and if you dine-in and order an iced coffee, it's served in a cool-looking can-shaped glass. They have a pastry case with items from Patisserie 46, and that means they have an elevated cost. This place is popular so expect a line, but the staff are all pros so they'll get through it quickly.
This is hands down the best cold brew in Minnesota. They do nitro really well, but the rotating seasonal cold brews are next level. The whipped honey cold brew is my absolute favorite. That big dollop of whipped honey on top is unreal. The space itself is great for getting work done. Lots of natural light, big open windows, and different seating options that makes it feel really inviting. It can get pretty busy during peak times, so finding a seat can be a little tricky but they have a shared table system where you can grab a card if you're open to sitting with others. It's such a fun, community-focused touch and a great way to meet people or just make space when it's crowded. The staff is super kind and welcoming, which makes it even better. They also do a great job with their seasonal drinks and pastries.
Rainy days are my favorite to slow down and enjoy small moments. A good coffee and pastry pairing with a light rain made for a calm chill morning. Thanks to @quixoticcoffee in Highland are of St. Paul I had never been here and was surprised by how cozy it was and how many people were hunkered down working, visiting, relaxing etc. there were lots of spaces to find a cozy spot solo or with others. This place is adorable and perfect to loose track of time and enjoy a coffee. I tried a simple iced vanilla latte, the coffee was really good and will definitely be back again for a brew. Also got a warmed up chocolate croissant to go. (if you're not asking for it warmed up...you're missing out) accidentally smooshed it in my purse but it was still warm and delicious. Love finding cozy new spots like this especially on cozy weather days. Find some simple thing in your day today to slow down and enjoy a little more.
Met a friend for coffee here. The inside has plenty of seating and some outdoor options in the front too so it's a great place to meet up with a friend! I got on of their summer menu drinks. the coconut joy and it was soooo good (dairy free too). I also got an almond croissant which was delectable. Highly recommend this spot!
I came here on a random Thursday late morning and wow was this spot packed. Not a seat available. Luckily someone left just as we needed a spot. I know I've been here several years ago but can't for the life of me remember what it was like then though I know it's been greatly improved. Truth be told I didn't try the black coffee which is the key to a good coffee shop. But I saw they served Backstory beans so I didn't need too as they are one of my top roasters in the city. Instead I tried the pumpkin cream cold brew. I've been loving all the places doing things like this. Not as sweet as the lattes but with a nice hit of flavor. I really enjoyed it. Though noticed a lot of the good stuff ended up at the bottom pretty quickly. I'll definitely be coming here more now that I know they serve Backstory and sell their beans. I just don't know if I'd come to hang out with the lack of comfortable seating. For anyone wanting to get work done though as long as a seats available to Quixotic will work great!
I walked in here because 1) I really needed coffee after landing super early into MSP and 2) I was intrigued by their speciality coffees. I eventually decided on Marco Polo which is a cold brew with caramel & vanilla. It was the perfect amount of sweetness that I like. I knew that I would like it based on the description, but I loved it upon my first sip. It really satisfied the early morning coffee craving that I had. It was a nice & refreshing drink for the hot day that was ahead of me.
Finally got to check out Quixotic! It's one of the places on my coffee compass list. I like the general aesthetic of this coffee shop. Various seating options, especially liked the booths. They also have a private meeting room which is nice. They also have some tables outside. I checked out some of the drinks on the specials menu. I got the matcha-mallow & s'mocha. Both drinks were really good. I'd definitely stop by again if I was in the area.
Their lattes are to die for! So creamy, sweet, and perfect on a cold day. This location is one of my favorite places to work in St. Paul.
Looked for a coffee shop close to the airport and found this gem less than 8 minutes from the car rental lot! Such a cute coffee shop - with lots of booths (if you are looking for a coffee shop to work from, this is a great option) and easy street parking. Super helpful and friendly staff and great fancy coffee options including nitro cold brew and pour over coffee. I had their matcha which was excellent - came either sweetened or unsweetened.
We were looking for a coffee place that had some light breakfast options Stumbled upon Quixotic and glad we did. The space is really cute and cozy and the coffee and food were fantastic. They have seasonal specials, some hot options for food, and a variety of pastries. We opted for a pesto wrap and a pastry with our coffees. We were prompted to start a rewards account as well, which actually seemed like a good deal since this visit got us about 90% to a reward already. Great stop in the Highland area!
Quixotic is such a cute little coffee shop in St Paul. I fell in love with it when I was in grad school. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of space to read, study, or catch up with a friend. The baristas were all super friendly. I love their fall seasonal menu right now. I also appreciate how many decaf options they have! My husband always orders a vanilla latte whenever we go to a coffee shop, hot or cold depending on the season. I ordered the decaf pumpkin latte cold brew. Their flavors are so so good! Not synthetic/fake tasting like some others. The shop is located in a great spot where you can easily take your coffee and walk around the area. Or you can drive a few minutes down the road and explore Hidden Falls along the river. Highly recommend this spot! read more
We've been travelling around the Cities to try new coffeeshops and the latest trip was to Quixotic! Cute and buzzing coffeeshop was filled with energy on our Saturday morning trip! There was a small line but it moved quickly. There are some tables and booths for small to medium groups, but they fill up fast! We were lucky to snag one! Staff was quick and efficient at taking our orders and getting everything out to us! Enjoyed a latte and a breakfast sandwich on this trip, and both were delicious! Super solid coffee shop for those in the area needing that caffeine boost! read more
If you are looking for a great iced coffee, look no further! This place is located in a bustling area of St. Paul! It's street parking but it is free. Walking in, there are lots of wood accents, stools, booths and PLENTY of plug ins if you want to come here and study/get work done! The service was disappointing to be honest. This place had the vibes to have such a fun crew working and instead we barely even got 2 words for the person who rang us up. The person who made our drinks also had zero interaction. Such a missed opportunity! This is why I removed a star. The coffee: This is one of my new favorite coffees I have ever had! I got an iced whipped honey latte and it was DELICIOUS! The coffee wasn't overly bitter, had good flavor and the whipped honey was definitely a unique treat! Overall, I really did enjoy my time at this coffee shop! It definitely can get busy but don't let that deter you from getting a delicious coffee from these guys! Oh and yes, they do have some snack/lunch/bakery items here to if you get hungry!! read more

As soon as I landed in the twin cities I pulled out the yelp app to find the best coffee. Quixotic was highly rated. I stopped by to grab breakfast and a coffee. I opted for the s'mocha and the romesco egg & cheese. The coffee was a nice take on a mocha, albeit a bit too sweet for me. The sandwich was nice and flavorful. Seating can be a bit tough when the space is busy. read more
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and am so happy I finally did! drinks: I got their matcha (iced) with caramel and oat milk and I'm obsessed. I forgot to ask if they make their oat milk or what brand their using because it was so good. I'm curious to try their other in house syrups to taste the difference. My friend got a vanilla matcha with whole milk and that was tasty too! service/ etc.: I LOVE a booth when I'm studying or working, so it's an automatic fav for me and there's SO many and a lot of other seating. they have 1 bathroom and it's nice and clean. I think this place will be so cute to come to in the winter. very cozy, homey, chill by the fire vibes. the drinks come out quick. read more
I think of all the cafes in Minnesota to get work done/ work on group projects/ or conduct any other kind of meetings this cafe had a great space! Plenty of booth seating, table seating, and outlets (quite comfortable and easy to lock in!). Lovely 10/10 kombucha which they have revolving flavors for, and I would say regular priced. Staff was friendly and the cafe/bathroom were quite clean. Definitely a place to stop by if you're in the neighborhood :) read more
Such a pleasant surprise! First off the staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. They source all of their food and products locally which I LOVE! They have kombucha from a local company on tap and gave free samples so that we could find one we liked before purchasing (lemon berry was so good)! We also got a wrap which was delicious and fresh! Decaf latte and they said the syrup is made in house and it was very good. I love that they have a room in the back you can reserve for $10/hr (and they give that back in gift card to purchase products when you are there). I will be doing this!! Plenty of seating (booths, tables, bar seating), cozy inviting atmosphere. I look forward to going back! read more

Best part of this coffee shop is the warm interior. What a cozy vibe! There is a bar you can sit at; booths and table or a large space for a group. Cake mid-afternoon so there wasn't much for food left. Will have to come early next time. Match was top notch. Enjoyed the Marko Polo, maybe a bit too much salt but still tasty. Staff was patient and kind, very little wait. Very enjoyable. Will be back. read more

Quixotic is a gem and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to try it! SO glad I finally stopped in to try it over the weekend and yes it lived up to the hype. I had a BOGO coupon, so I went with the marko polo and white lightening, both were iced, and I thought very tasty. Walking to my vehicle in the first cold of the season, I found myself wishing I would have opted for the hot Notorious FIG drink, so I'll be back very soon to try that. Although, I planned to just get the coffees, my eyes spotted the molasses ginger cookie and that was seriously a standout cookie for me. Perfect balance of molasses and spice. The gal at the register was very nice and chatty which I always appreciate and makes for a great experience. There wasn't many spots to sit as the place was hoping, but there are booths and bar stools. Just a cute cozy place. Parking is street parking, but I thought it was a breeze... lots of areas to find a spot. Can't wait to return so soon! read more

I came here with my friend. We got a chocolate croissant to share, she got a hot chai tea, and I got an iced london fog. Ambiance was great! We did not have to wait in line or for a table which was surprising because it seemed pretty busy. They were playing all of my favorite songs and the lighting was not too harsh. Our drinks came out very fast and they were delicious! The one complaint I have is that the prices were a bit steep, but the quality of ingredients was prevalent. read more

Love this place, especially for working! Not a ton of seating, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. As a cold brew lover, I loved the variety of different cold brew based specialty drinks they had! Would highly recommend! read more

Probably not a good place for a quiet conversation but perfect for a tasty coffee and or smoothie bowl. Refreshing stop during these summer months. The inside carries sound too well so if you're planning on working, I'd recommend headphones. There's also a little room that you may reserve for study groups or meetings. We loved their specialty nitro cold brew menu! read more

Some of the best coffee I've had! Their specialty cold brews are no joke. I'm a fan of sweeter coffee so I asked the barista what their sweetest cold brew was. She said the Marko polo would be their sweetest drink but they can make any of their cold brews sweeter based on request. When looking at the other drinks the barista mentioned the chocolate milk was delicious so I was leaning towards those. I ended up getting the rockless road which was cold brew, chocolate milk and hazelnut syrup. After getting my drink the barista mentioned she made it a little sweeter for me and let me try it in case I wanted it to be sweeter. She was so friendly and helpful when ordering!! It ended up tasting delicious based on the accommodations she already made. It was the perfect balance of coffee, milk and hazelnut for me! I definitely want to come back and try their other cold brew with chocolate milk which comes with almond syrup instead of hazelnut; the deniro. Overall I was so satisfied with my experience and the service I received. The coffee was delicious as I mentioned, and there's also a good amount of seating to come and get some work done as well. There's free Wi-Fi and lots of large tables to work at. I definitely will come back! read more

I came here to meet a coworker for a project and in general enjoyed the ambiance of this spot. It's a great place for working if you can snag a spot toward the back, as the front area tends to be busier with people walking in and placing orders. I also appreciated that they have a small room available for up to six people to reserve if needed--a nice touch for group work. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk, which was on the sweeter side, but still tasty. It was a bit chilly inside during our visit, but overall, I'd definitely come back. read more
I loved this coffee shop! I ordered the seasonal Bourbon Eggnog Latte and it was splendid. Perfectly seasoned and steamed. Beautiful presentation. The service was quick and the staff very friendly. They handled an incident with a homeless man graciously and effectively. There was plenty of space for groups to come & many outlets for people to work. I'll be back! read more
The lattes at Quixotic are AMAZING. I usually get a regular latte with no additional flavoring but this time I decided to get a lavender latte and have no regrets at all! They've got the best coffee in the Twin Cities no doubt! Customer service was amazing and the wait time was super short. I will definitely be back when school starts for study sessions at the cafe!
