On a Sunday afternoon I stopped in at Pangos coffee shop with a friend. The place was quiet playing fun Spanish music that seemed to compliment the tropical vibes of the decor and wallpaper. The woman working was friendly and sweet I ended up ordering a frappe and the egg and chorizo empanada. The empanada was super flaky and savory. The frappe was just okay I wished it had either a stronger coffee flavor or that I had added a flavor to it they had lots to choose from. My friend had banana cake which was good and the pistachio latte which she enjoyed

We ordered the Porteño (meat pizza) and the Peras (vegetarian) since our son is vegetarian, and both were excellent. Even the leftovers held up wonderfully--reheated in an air fryer, they tasted fantastic. We also tried the churro donuts. On their own they were okay, but with the sauce, they were really good. Highly recommended for pizza lovers, and a great pairing with your favorite beverage--beer, wine, or a non-alcoholic choice

The margherita pizza itself was very tasty, and the cheese-covered crust definitely makes for a striking presentation. That said, the shredded cheese on the crust was a bit overwhelming and took away from actually enjoying the crust itself. Our biggest issue was honestly the customer service and overall flow of the restaurant. As first-time visitors, it was very unclear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or order at the counter, and we didn't receive much direction when we asked. Everything is very self-serve, including grabbing your own plates and water, which is totally fine once you know the process, but better communication would really improve the experience. Overall, we enjoyed the pizza and appreciated the creative style, though vegetarian options were somewhat limited. We'd likely return and just know what to expect next time.

It's a cozy atmosphere, it doesn't feel like you need to be all dressed up to fit in. Now the food. My wife and I have been here twice. Once for lunch last week and tonight for dinner. On both occasions the food was outstanding. We were treated by a combination of fresh ingredients, a chefs eye towards delicious flavor profiles, great execution, and fair prices. Certainly keen to come back. I'd recommend the ceviche for an appetizer and if you're feeling spicy ask for the house hot sauce. It's a roasted habanero and it's awesome. For lunch I had the shrimp tacos and they were great also. I feel like I'm gushing here, but the rack of lamb and scallops were both also amazing dinner entrees as well. Lastly, every desert we've had has been tasty as well.

Cahill Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities, and for good reason! The food,…read morethe service, and the ambience are five stars across the board. Owned and operated by three brothers, this family-owned restaurant serves incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes. If you visit, you'll most likely be greeted and served by one of the owners, who treat you like family--wholesome and genuinely high-quality hospitality without doing too much. The service provided and the love poured into the food are comparable to none. I've frequented this restaurant several times, throughout several years, and I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes here include: - Empanadas de Carne or Vegetariana: Beef or vegetable empanadas. These empanadas are pan-fried corn dough, stuffed with your choice of tender, juicy, perfectly cooked braised beef or fresh vegetables. The empanadas are served on a bed of roasted tomato salsa and crema casera. The crispiness and warmth of the empanadas, combined with the tanginess of the sauces, make this dish my absolute favorite. If you're undecided in the appetizer section, this would be the one thing I would absolutely make sure you order. - The guacamole is made with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, roasted tomato, salsa, and served with crispy corn chips. It is one of their top-selling items as it is made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious as such. - The shrimp ceviche is another favorite! Made with a blend of tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and citrus juice, this ceviche is both juicy and packed with tons of flavor. It's the perfect light and refreshing appetizer. - The Tostones and fried yucca, each crispy and crunchy, are also excellent options for sharing or nibbling solo before your main dish. - The Carne Asada is one of my go-to lunches when I visit. Overnight, marinated steak is grilled to perfection and served with achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice, black bean purée, French fries, and a small house salad. It's good comfort food cooked with love and an incredible amount of - The Lomo saltado dish is sautéed beef tips that are very tender, rich, and flavorful. The combination with the red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes is sensational. Paired with an achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice that waters your mouth, as well as a side house salad served with a tangy lime vinaigrette that will blow you away. - The Mexican Tres leches is my absolute favorite version! I've tried several, not all, across the Twin Cities, and this is always easily my favorite. A homemade cake soaked with a blend of three milks, whipped cream, caramel chocolate, and topped with crispy coconut flakes. This dessert is decadent as it is delicious. In addition to these dishes, Cahill Bistro offers happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm with specials on appetizers and drinks. They also have daily soup specials and brunch on Saturdays. Cahill Bistro has consistently won multiple awards for best Latin American food in the Twin Cities, and for me, there is no debate about that. Cahill Bistro is my #1!

Parking is located along the side of the building rather than directly in front of the restaurant. The space itself is cozy, welcoming guests with vibrant, tropical décor that reflects the rich colors of beautiful Colombia. The service I experienced was amicable as I placed my lunch order to-go. I ordered a few items starting with a blended iced coffee. The cup was lined with arequipe (caramel), then topped with whipped cream and drizzled chocolate sauce. While enjoyable, I found it to be very sweet--more of a dessert-style treat than something I'd reach for as a morning coffee. Not bad by any means, just sweeter than my personal preference. I also ordered the empanadas, which were delicious! Made with traditional corn masa, their texture reminded me of the empanadas I grew up eating. I chose the trio of chicken empanadas, each filled with a chicken and potato mix, excellently seasoned with a familiar Criollo blend, comforting in flavor. For lunch I ordered a grilled chicken bowl, which included rice, black beans, sweet plantains, grilled chicken, avocado, oven-roasted cauliflower, grated queso fresco, and a house-made sauce. This dish was okay but not something I'd likely order again. That said, I genuinely enjoyed the empanadas and the blended coffee enough that I would come back for those, and maybe try something new from the menu.

Just as I was lamenting the lack of good food options here, I came across this empanada stand near my gate. I ordered three empanadas: the chicken, the beef, and the spicy beef. The first two were decent, not bad but nothing special. But the spicy beef empanada is the single best empanada I've had in my life. I know that sounds crazy. But seriously, this random empanada stand at this airport has my favorite empanadas I've ever had. The spicy beef is perfectly seasoned and moist. The outer shell is the perfect crispiness and not too thick. This is now my go-to place whenever I come to this airport in Minneapolis. They were also out of everything other than the spicy beef and spicy chicken options. Hoping as they ramp up they can plan better and stock more.
