Our waitress was AWESOME she was very friendly and open to substitutions. My boys had burger patties that were PHENOMENAL! The octopus appetizer was so tender! I didn't love the duck, the oysters weren't great and the steak was average.

Phil's Tara Hideaway is great! The atmosphere has a Wisconsin supper club vibe (and plenty of parking unlike downtown Stillwater). We had a large group but we got a 5:00 pm reservation no problem. Our waitress was great! Very attentive, quick, and knowledgeable about the menu. Now for the food. Do yourself a favor and order the Athenian Fried Potatoes. They won't disappoint! My husband ordered the special which was a steak and mushroom risotto dish. PHENOMENAL! Please add this to your regular menu, Phil's! The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the mushroom risotto was salty, creamy, and delicious. I ordered the Hazelnut Encrusted Walleye and was underwhelmed. It lacked flavor as compared to the other dishes. Overall, I can't wait to come back and try more menu items!

It's hard to pin-point where this place fits in. It's fancy food and dishes, but it has a loud and vibrant atmosphere. The log cabin vibe is really cool. You'd expect the food to not be as good as it is... but I was impressed. The Pork was cooked perfect medium rare. Again, I wasn't expecting them to hit this, but they did it perfectly. I especially liked the green sauce that accompanied the dish. This place can be packed so it might be wise to go at off-peak times... especially because the tables are really close together.

Small and cozy (it can get loud when it's crowded) Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Our go-to choice for family celebrations.

Slow service, cold food. Let the server know our meals were cold and nothing was done, not even an apology.

Everything was great. Food service staff every time I have been there. Drinks were good and not watered down like some places.

It wasn't all that busy, roughly three staff members in and out behind the bar inclusive of an employee who was working on a sangria mix? Pre made cocktail mix? Not sure but he was putting something together the majority of the time I was in. I digress. It wasn't just myself and guest who experienced the slow service, there was another group at the end of the bar that had to ask multiple times for their tab to multiple employees. On to the food: -I went with the Royale Smash Burger, which was quite tasty and honestly, the seasoning of the burger and the cheese stood so strong on their own I wish I didn't have the tomato and pickles in hindsight. Really great burger! -the side fries were solid and seasoned perfectly! -the onion rings we split was surprisingly the opposite. No real taste to the batter, came out not super hot, and really soggy. The exact opposite of the side fries and honestly, wish we'd skipped on them. Overall, the service kind of killed the experience, the burger was solid, and I'd skip the onion rings. There's some decent spots in Stillwater and this place always seems super busy this was the first chance I had to stop in and... not sure with the other options I'd jump to go back. Perhaps it was just an off service/off afternoon?

We were greeted quickly and everything was just on point. Our server was great and always made sure we were being taken care of. The complimentary bread and oil were good, we were even offered a little more once our food came. Had the risotto bistecca and hubs got the shrimp and grits. I was actually super impressed with the risotto. Hubs seemed to really enjoy his entree and wine as well. After checking out the dessert menu, we found a couple options there as well. They had panna cotta, which I can never say no to. It was out of this world. Hubs had lemon ricotta cheesecake, which was equally delightful. Highly recommend stopping just for wine or stay for a meal!

Perhaps it is because I requested a window seat when I made the reservation. It was very pleasant. This visit was on February 21, 2026, less than a month since Alex Pertti was shot and killed by ICE, only half a block from the restaurant. I was glad to see the restaurant was filled, even very early on a Saturday night. The waitress was friendly and very competent. The humas was as usual, wonderful: creamy and tasty. My wife ordered the appetizer version of the Spanakopita, which was enough for her to consider it a entree, along with a soup. I had the dinner special of broiled Atlantic Salmon with white wine and butter sauce. It was served with asparagus and rice pilaf. This is something that I had never tried at Christos and it was excellent. It also came with a house salad, which was also very good. The total, with one glass of wine, was $70.88 plus tip. One question: Why do the nightly specials never change?
