Such a fun location with a cave and everything. We came here on a fun day with friends and a birthday. The waiter was awesome and guided us with suggestions and even allowing us to bring in a birthday cake that they cut for us. We took refuge in Feller when it was blistering cold outside & loved the cozy cabin feel inside - my husband had been wanting to try their wide selection of meat menu for a long time now so it was serendipitous! Unfortunately we weren't super hungry yet but it was a great gateway into the fabulousness of Feller! I ordered the wild rice soup that had this perfect Smokey flavor and really delicious with the pheasant, I have only ever had chicken wild rice so it was super delicious. We had an excellent experience! We didn't have to wait to be seated for lunch, and they placed us by a sunny window overlooking busy downtown Stillwater--such a nice touch. We stopped in for a small bite as we just arrived in town but were not too hungry. Quinn, the bartender served us as the restaurant just started happy hour and other servers were just checking in. Quinn was very pleasant, friendly and attentive. We ordered the smoked wings which came 6 to a platter. At first I thought really? $16? Pretty steep for 6 wings. However, when the wings arrived they were huge! Also, the wings were half off during happy hour so we placed an order for two. The wings had a smoky dry rub, no sauce which was very different. I thought they were delicious and served in a beautiful platter. Served with ranch or blue cheese dressing. We also ordered the Brussels Sprouts which came with a gochujang and balsamic sauce and hazelnuts. It was good but a little sweet. Overall the food was good and our service was excellent. Beautiful spacious venue and friendly staff. Sit on the patio off of the main Stillwater street or venture inside. The bread here is made fresh and sooo delicious and a highlight. My wife and I walked here from our home. Wasn't really planning to eat anything but 2.7 miles in the heat and humidity can make you stop at this really nice restaurant. They were not busy for a late Sunday evening as every other restaurant seemed to be closing down for the night. We were sweaty and in shorts so we asked to sit outside on the patio. We've ordered takeout, and I'm sure my wife has dined in with her nieces in the past, but this was my first real visit to Feller in the eight years we've lived here. I got the halibut and my wife ordered the vegetable risotto. Both excellent. This might be the best bite of fish I've had in a very long time. Well seasoned. Seared and crusty on the outside, cooked through but still tender and flaky inside. Service was quick, attentive, but they also left you alone to enjoy conversation and the light music playing through the hidden speakers in the flower beds. We're making our way through the restaurants in downtown Stillwater but Feller will become a regular visit. Also perfect proportions so we could complete the walk uphill back home without too much difficulty. read more

This is one of the better restaurants in downtown Stillwater. It's modern on the inside, and we especially liked the playlist of music (calm and relaxing). We went for brunch and we really impressed. It doesn't have many reviews; however, I have the necessary knowledge as a chef and World Traveler to be able to comment on this restaurant, which at first glance is very pleasant. Don't sit on the patio or whatever that's called. The town of Stillwater authorizes all sorts of crazy people to drive by on their motorcycles and their vicious little cars with engines rigged to make as much noise as possible, which bounces and reverberates between the beautiful walls of the old buildings in that beautiful town of Stillwater, which will slowly be destroyed by the vibrations caused by the city's lack of authority to prohibit these violent noises, which do no good to anyone, not even to diners who want to enjoy a quiet dinner with family or friends. Very unfortunate. We couldn't stay inside because it was pathetically freezing. The air conditioning was set at about 65 degrees. You can't have a pleasant time like that. I wouldn't say the service was very good. First of all, like most restaurants, on a Friday night, knowing it's going to be busy, they have few waiters or cooks. The flatbreads were good, as was the dessert. The rest was so-so. Just asking for salt and pepper was a real ordeal. read more

Lunch and dinner have been more hit and miss for me, but breakfast is always a hit! However, its location in downtown Stillwater as well as the inviting decor inside keep me coming back. The wild boar sausage was super flavorful. The skin casing was thick, so it had a bit of a literal bite to it. My hubby really liked the Chorizo Benedict. We go to Feller often! For a while they, removed the truffle mac and cheese and it was one of our side dishes we loved to share as a starter with four of us. It's back on the menu, but not nearly as good, The noodle is all wrong they are using now (seems they used to use orecchiette or a noodle that didn't disintegrate like the current one does-and turn to mush), the breadcrumbs on the top detract; and the little touch of a bit of cayenne or spice-that used to be a part of the taste, is also missing. We had the crostini as well as the pastrami and both courses were simply delicious. The crostini had super juicy mushrooms, great greens and creamy sauce, and portion was generous. They serve the entire menu in the bar as well so we decided to stay there. Really great vibe in the whole restaurant. It's modern yet cozy and warm. Visiting from Austin and I found this place for a girls brunch. Walleye eggs benedict caught my eye and did not disappoint. Something about the smokiness in the fish cake and the tartness in the hollandaise sauce just jived. It was definitely on the pricier side for the area but good food and creative menu made it worth it. The mushroom bruschetta was picture perfect. All the flavors and textures blended beautifully. The cocktail menu was interesting and I would have loved to explore it more. Alas, I was there for brunch on a Monday so I limited myself to one mimosa which was solid with very fresh orange juice and good ratio. Others in my party got the Valencia orange vodka drink which was also delicious but a little too sweet IMHO. I was debating on if I write a review because the service and food was delicious- 5 stars for sure. While we were sitting at the bar enjoying our drinks before our meal, we witnessed some unsettling behavior by the manager. The bartender was very sweet and was trying her best to make drinks for the bar and the restaurant side and it was effective, if not a tiny bit slow. She was a new bartender, she introduced herself as and so we were impressed when she answered all our questions and made excellent specialty cocktails. A man came behind the bar and began berating the bartender in front of us. He was loud, condescending, and rude, I could not believe how unprofessional he was and made us very uncomfortable. I have been in the industry for many years and have never witnessed treatment to an employee by the (we asked General) manager. If I was treated like that I would quit and we witnessed him being hostile to other employees. We asked the girl who dropped off the food who he was, and she said the GM. Employees should be treated with respect. I had to write a review so I could, with good conscious, return there! Love the decor and the layout of the space it's beautiful. Staff is friendly and practicing good covid precautions. The food was delicious! Quail buffalo style is a thing and it's damn crave worthy...I teetered between a 3 and 4 because of these, but it's not on the official menu. I made reservations for my husband and I on a Thursday evening. It certainly wasn't needed as it was fairly empty, but hey, I got my Opentable points. We arrived and stood at the front and waited, and waited. The two hosts were doing whatever it was they were doing by the kitchen area. I was getting aggravated. Why have a host stand? It finally took a server calling over to them to get their attention to seat us. We were then put in this awkward corner butting right up to a booth. We were practically speaking to the back of a women's head, and directly behind us was a group. With all the empty tables, you seat us here? She also didn't say much to us either, just plopped menus down and left. We ended up moving ourselves a table over so everyone wasn't in each other's conversation in the quiet space. So far it's not a good first impression, drinks were needed. I had the Prince Albert, and later the bronco old fashion thing. Both were delicious. Our actual server was excellent and super friendly. She convinced us of the buffalo style quail special. The rub on the quail was on point and the blue cheese cream stuff added the perfect balance to the crispy skin. We also had the smoky deviled eggs, wild rice cakes, and the Feller. The eggs were fine, it was missing the smoke, it didn't rock our world. The wild rice cakes were super crispy on the outside and moist on the inside...I was digging these, but we were missing sauce. The horseradish cream was the appeal for us ordering it, but there was a tiny smear of it. It could have been a home run with more of that horseradish stuff. That burger. Goddamn, that thing was good. This is the type of burger I daydream about, just your traditional all American burger. It came with shoe string fries. My husband hated their "fancy ketchup." It tasted like a thick Campbell's tomato soup. I agreed. Our server recommended their pesto aioli for dipping instead, that stuff was money, you need to sub your ketchup for this. While the drinks, quail, and burger was a hit, the service as far as timing was slow. If the place was packed I'd understand. But again, it was an empty place and it took more than an hour to dine here even though we ordered quickly. Overall, we enjoyed our food and we thought our server was phenomenal, I feel like she put our orders in quickly, but the rest of her team was slow.
