We had a great night at Danny's. The absolutely best part of the night was spending time with the bartender, Wes. His drinks were phenomenal (an artist) and his personality is even better. Hit or miss at Danny's with both the service and food. You never know what you might get. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad - it came with no croutons (basically just the lettuce that looked like it was beginning to brown, some shredded cheese and the chicken). Ordered a couple pieces of garlic bread and never did get that. When I mentioned the lack of croutons to the server she said they would "put them on next time". My husband had a steak that wasn't very good. We come here a couple times a month. We are taking it off our list for go to places. It just isn't meeting a mid-standard level anymore. The patio was nice. The food was so so. The ribs had a nice dry rub and tasted good. The buger was mediocre, the lettuce and tomato didnt seem fresh, he burger lacked taste, wasnt cooked to order, and the bun was dry. The cole slaw was also quite plain. After reopening after their remodel we were happy to see new booths and seating. The menu was the same as before they closed so that was a little disappointing. Service was just ok and they didn't seem overly busy. We had a filet steak and the fish and chips. The steak was very good but my fish was overcooked, fries barely warm and the coleslaw was tasteless. We really like the atmosphere at Danny's and that they have music on the weekends. They also have a lovely patio. We will be back and will try another entree but really wish they would have upgraded the menu. read more

We went here for the Mother's Day bunch they were promoting. There was very little info online about the menu! It was $50/per and didn't include any drinks. It was another $20/per for bottomless mimosas or bloody Mary's. When We got there, we witnessed an upset customer because apparently there was an hour time limit on brunch. They took their plates away and basically said times up. When we were seated, it was in the tent area. I Didn't realize that was the only area for brunch service and it didn't mention this online. It was not full at all, but we were seated at the first table closest to the entrance which was odd. We sat there for a minute and not one person came up to us to explain anything. When I asked the waitress, she said "Yeah it's a buffet, help yourself". I would have expected at least someone to tell us where to get water or juice, where the plates were, etc. Ok, now the food. The breakfast food was about as good as a Best Western hotel breakfast. Bacon, cubed potatoes, sausage links, scrambled eggs, and biscuits and gravy (gravy was only decent part). The lunch side was not much better but at least was more from scratch. The prime rib was good, and the desserts were good. My GF wanted a mimosa, that was $10 and it was a small plastic cup size. Every time they grabbed our plates they took the silverware. Payment. They made you include the tip when you paid up front when you arrived. Not sure why you had to pay up front, and then pay for drinks separately if you didn't do the $20/deal vs. paying when you are done and paying for everything together? Total bill with tip was almost $300 for 4 people to have average food and only 2 of us had one drink each. Btw, they didn't have to kick us out after an hour as we left before the time was up as the atmosphere and food was not good. We will not be going back here for brunch or any other reason. read more

Our party decided to go here because of the live music advertised. We called ahead to make sure there was live music playing tonight. When we got there, the waitress said she "didn't know where the band was and they could be on their way." Narrator: There was no live music. The potstickers were ok. I didn't like the sauce it was bathed in. Normally, potstickers have the dipping sauce (which is light and watery) on the side. The potstickers were doused with a thick sauce. Loved the artichoke dip! Hearty, generous chunks of artichokes, nice and cheesy, and Served piping hot. We asked for more chips. For the main course, I ordered the twin 4oz steaks at medium rare. It was good. The blue cheese sauce was too thick for my liking. The veggies were heavily seasoned. I didn't feel like doing dessert.... because there wasn't live music. read more

Went here for a special occasion and service was awesome. The food was decent. They have a smaller menu so not a ton of choices but I decided on sunnies as it appeared that was something they specialize in and they were great. Husband had ribs and it was a nice sized portion. If you have not experienced Danny's you are missing something amazing! We won a four-course dinner for six at an auction and it was just the best! The chef came out and explained the courses and suggested wine pairings. The food was creative and delicious and the service was excellent. Every time we have been to Danny's for dinner or brunch it has been just terrific. You have to take Neal from Hudson Road across 94 to get there. Went for Mother's Day brunch, paid $340 upfront for semi-decent food and waited 10 minutes to get seated. After 50 minutes we were given a "five minute warning" to "make room for the next group". Making our reservations, we were not told that we had a time limit. $50 per plate for trash service and $20 for bottomless mimosas that are only bottomless for an hour??? We love Danny's and are regular patrons. We love Kelly there and she is an outstanding server. Filet never disappoints. They make a great cosmo and desserts are always delicious. We had the lemon cheesecake tonight and it was to die for! New chef has changed things up a bit. You now get delicious mashed potatoes AND grilled veggies. A great pairing and always tasty and served piling hot! We always had the house salad...cranberries and a tangy maple vinaigrette and were sad to learn tonight it is no longer an option. read more

Food was very good, I tried the Kobe American Wagu Burger. Simple but good. Nice selection of craft beers. The stone patio in the farmhouse setting golf course accentuated the effort and quality of food. Sipping on a beer while listening to live coffeehouse acoustics of a just guy with a guitar provided a thick layer of relaxation to well thought out ambiance. We had breakfast here last Saturday, July 28, 2012, about 10:30AM. This was our first time here, and we were not disappointed. My wife and I both had the Berry Ciabatta French Toast, "Cinnamon egg dipped ciabatta, dried cherry maple pecan butter, northwood maple syrup, thick cut smokehouse bacon $7.95" It was scrumptious! One of my pet peeves: Usually restaurants have pancake syrup that is nothing more than flavored corn syrup. But not here! The real maple syrup was delicious. I visited Danny's for a friends birthday with a group of about 10 recently. Overall the food was good but there were definetly some pluses and minues. I don't necessarily think I would make a deliberate trip to Danny's but it is a good option if you are in the area. Positives: -live music - created a fun atmosphere -food - I had the walleye and others at the table had the lobster and various pasta dishes. Everyone agreed that the food was good, not great, but good. -drinks - The mixed drinks were made pretty strong but still were very tasty Negatives: -The directions are COMPLETELY wrong. Do NOT put the address into google. Instead drive to the golf course and you'll find Danny's. Literally everyone in our party got lost. -The server was super ditsy. We got all of our correct food and she was able to do split checks but her comments were annoying - not what you expect for the price tag. -Cougars everywhere. This may be your thing but for me it was a negative. -Parking was impossible. I think there was a wedding at the same time as our dinner and this made the parking lot over flow. read more

Danny's used to be a favorite place to get a casual reasonably priced dinner. We had not been there over Covid and made our first trip recently. The quality of the food has deteriorated and just as bad the prices have risen dramatically. $18 for a poorly cooked cheeseburger or fish tacos is terrible. Most of there entrees are around $30 which is what you see in A good restaurant in St. Paul or Minneapolis. This is the place my family always goes to for special occasions. The food is always great, and ever since they redid the place, the consistency of greatness has never been better. The wait staff is always nice and considerate. Yes, the food is pricey, but it is executed to perfection. All of the food is good, but I highly recommend ordering the grilled Caesar side salad with your meal. The flavor of the grilled romaine is so tasty. This place is one of my favorites. read more

Best to call and make a reservation if you want to dine here on a Friday or Saturday night, as it is a popular after-golfing dining spot. I love the ambience of this American gourmet cuisine restaurant. I had the salmon and my companion had the pecan walleye, both served with risotto. Both were excellently prepared and beautifully plated. The salmon came with a slaw and artichoke sauce. Our server was prompt, knew the menu and answered our questions. At the risk of sharing the best kept secret in Woodbury Stillwater Oakdale I am giving a two thumbs up and then some. I have been searching for a premier steakhouse for years without going to the city. By accident we stumbled upon this gem. Incredible food. Steaks that melt in your mouth, sauce options to taste, Delish sides and amazing desserts. To be sure our first visit wasn't a fluke, we revisited months later only to again be served incredible fare. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. What was once a gem of a spot to grab a bite, has now become a monstrosity. Constant turnover and horrific management is to blame. Been going there for a decade, but over the last few years its gone way downhill. Even when it seems it's back on track something happens over night and the stabilizing people are miraculously gone. Was on the patio this afternoon and waited over 30 minutes just for the drink order to arrive. Waited over an hour and still was not even asked to take a food order. I counted 4 tables in the entire establishment as well. So maybe 10% capacity. They still have a few great servers that have been there for years, but it seems they are handcuffed on what they can do because of the kitchen and management. read more

Wow! Danny's Bar & Grill is beautifully located on the StonerRdge Golf Course near pictureesque Stillwater, MN. The atmosphere is warm, trendy, & classy. Try Vegas meets Minnesota Golf club. Beautiful indoor space. The patio has a stone fire place & overlooks the golf course. You can't beat the view! We visited on a Sunday evening for some appetizers & drinks. We perused the menu & finally decided on the ahi appetizer & the guacamole. Both were amazing. The ahi was cooked to a perfect medium rare, served with a wasabi aioli & a sesame noodle dish & the guacamole was just the right combination of seasoning to make it the best guac I have ever had @ a restaurant! YUM! Live music is featured on the weekends & happy hour is served up M-F 4pm-6pm. Danny's has new specials everyday & half price bottles of wine on Mondays & Tuesdays! The menu looked amazing & I have heard so many good things about "Chef Ron". Can't wait to go back for a half pirce bottle of wine, some live music, & a realzing dinner on the patio. Danny's is a restaurant that my family and I have visited once a month or so for several years. We have always enjoyed the menu and atmosphere of this restaurant and usually have a decent sized bill. However, our past two experiences here have been less than desirable, and we likely will not return. First, we have had a waitress the past two visits who is in her twenties that consistently refers to the women at our table as "honey" or "dear". I am close to her age and do not appreciate this, nor does my mother. Second, three out of the four entrees that were ordered arrived at our table incorrectly. I asked for a steak done "medium-well" and it came out red and bloody. The waitress was not very attentive to our table, so it took awhile for us to let her know our food came out wrong. When the manager returned my steak, he plopped it down on the table and quickly muttered "sorry" before walking away. My once bloody steak was now black and charred- completely undesirable and not at all worth the $35 paid for it. When we received the bill, no adjustments had been made to compensate for the mistakes in our orders. After paying the bill, my mother asked the hostess to speak with the manager. Ironically, the manager was the one who delivered my charred steak. As my mom gave the manager her feedback about our poor experience, the manager handed us a $25 gift card (less than 10% of our total bill that night) and said "I appreciate your feedback but I really have to go now" and walked away. Based on these past two experiences, we are unsure if and when we will return. read more

Great food and great atmosphere! The menu changes seasonally but walleye is always on the menu and its fantastic. The rib eye steak is one of the best I've had in this area. They are open Sundays for brunch and the breakfast torta is so good I dream about it. The live music Friday and Saturday is always good and not too loud that takes over the space. I ordered a cheese burger and was assured the chefs can cook a medium rare burger. What received was absolutely not medium rare. Seasonings were inconsistent, some bites were extra salty, while others were bland. Bartender was too busy talking about her ex husband to some golfers to check back with me. I've been here twice in the past 6 months - once for a business lunch and the other after a round of golf. Hands down the best 'golf course restaurant' I've ever been to and can't wait to come back for date night for dinner in the near future. The patio? awesome! Home made guac and soup? incredible! Today I went looking for an alternative to driving all the way from Woodbury to the Lake Elmo Inn for a special dinner with my father. He loves walleye and had the pecan crusted walleye. He gave Danny's the best compliment ever...."this is the best walleye that I have ever tasted". That is saying a lot since he almost 90 years old! I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon served over braised fennel. We shared a piece of warm flour less chocolate cake with raspberry drizzle that was perfection. The setting was also delightful with dinner on the patio enjoying a summer evening watching golfers finishing their rounds. I am looking forward to my next visit home to MN and Danny's. read more
