It's not a very large place so it may be difficult to find seating on a Friday/Saturday evening but that's about the only "downside". I've ordered their wings multiple times and you will not be disappointed with the Mac and cheese. Really nice new-England style tavern. Having leved there for a few years, I can attest that it looks rather authentic. The food is really good. We originally tried to get in a German restaurant, but they were packed so we decided to give Patriots Tavern a shot. At first glance, it kind of looks like a hole in the wall but to our surprise, it was very modern. The good: I asked for the chicken wings to be double baked so they could get a little crunchy on the outside. They were not as firm as what I thought they would be, but they were still quite good. The soy ginger flavor was also delicious. 4/5 The fire cracker burger was cooked perfectly with a little pink inside. The bread was nice with a firm texture. The Bad: The fire cracker burger was not as hot as what I thought it would be. Other burger joints with jalapeños are on the hotter and scorching side. We used to go here frequently. We've had good food sometimes and not so good other times. They're pricing themselves out of our willingness to go there anymore for what they offer. Most the menu is a la carte. You want fries with your 17 dollar burger, that's extra. It seems like they're happy just serving the local development there no matter what they charge. read more

Food so good it will make you weep! Hands down the best burger I have ever eaten (I had the fungi burger). The beet salad was also wonderful! The vegetables were fresh and colorful and did not disappoint. The server (Chip) we had was top notch! He checked in without being intrusive. He was friendly and accommodating. The ambience is that of a New England tavern with revolutionary war period decor. It's absolutely wonderful and warm. Great place to stop and eat great food and have good conversation. We try to avoid dinner rush when the service seems to be the most problematic. * Pizzas are great although they periodically mess up the toppings * Lettuce wraps are awesome * Pomme Frites are a must order especially with all the sauce options * Salads are large and very good * Soups have always been great * Crab cakes are ok....not lump but ok Service can be slow. Bar is small and some of staff can be less than welcoming. A little pricey but love that it's so close to my house. I'm not sure what has happened to the place. It's as if they don't even care anymore. We tried to go yesterday evening (2/20/22) and found the doors locked at 8 (the website says they close at 9 on Sundays). We tried again tonight. The guy at the desk (I sure hope it wasn't the manager, because he clearly didn't like being there) didn't greet us. It was 7:50. We asked if we could get a table. He said we could, but the only thing they'd be willing to make us was a burger and fries. We were hungry, and their burgers used to be good, so we said that would be fine. He sat us at a table and took a drink order. When he came back, he told us that they had decided to close at 8 and that if we wanted to eat, we needed to order immediately. Then one of the servers broke out the windex and started cleaning the front door. It felt like we were imposing, so my wife and I went home and popped a frozen lasagna into the oven. I don't know what happened. We live a half mile away and liked having them as an option. It's a shame, really. read more

I've been going to Patriot's Tavern for years. It's been one of my favorite restaurants. As a teacher, my lunch break is early. I have always been able to come there at 10:45, just before it opens and get a cup of their famous clam chowder to go. I was always told that was fine, but it might not be hot enough. Last Friday was a different experience. I knocked and finally was greated by an unfriendly man telling me that they weren't open yet. I told him that I've been able to get a cup of soup early because that was my lunch break. He said that they were busy getting ready to open, but finally acquiesced. He grumpily got me my soup. I apologized and said that I wouldn't do it again. Then a woman came in, also early, and sat at the bar and was treated much nicer. Apparently there are different rules for different people. Cute little place! In fact the whole area reminded me like I was on vacation. The little round about area and look of the area reminded me a little colonial area I might walk through on vacation. Met a friend for breakfast and so glad she picked this place for breakfast. We both ordered the pork belly sausage benedict with fresh fruit. It was delicious. The fruit was a nice mixture of blackberries, pineapple, melons and strawberries. The pork belly sausage was delicious. Service was great. Plenty of tables. Booth, tables or high tops. I review and rate Friday fish frys during Lent, 1 - 10 rating scale. I then post my rating on various sites. I always check the resturants's website first. Menu - $22. for Fish& Chips. My bill was $26., four dollars higher. I qustioned the bartenter, condescendingly said "You can't always trust our website" WTH!! Instesd of apologizing and honoring thier website price, she .could care less! Who I asumed was the owner checked the website, said yes it is wrong, did nothing. We had a great dinner here. Nothing fancy, a grilled turkey sandwich on wild rice with Fontina which was delicious and a jalapeño burger. We did a half order of onion rings and a half order of fries for three of us and that was plenty. Onion rings were a little sweet for my taste, I think they put powdered sugar in the batter.
