I've eaten here in the distant past. It is as good now as it was then. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The food is also quick. The food includes the Irish stuff you would expect, and in the past they've been great. Think fish & chips, Shepards pie (actually cottage). My friend and I had sandwiches this visit and they were great. The menu says you get chips. What you get is a generous portion of deep fried potato rounds, just a little thick. Some crunchy and some a little soft. The dill pickle... not my favorite but that's my take. Do Not skip the appetizer. The mushrooms are amazing. They are roasted or braised, and they are delicious. There are Irish beers here including Guinness, Harp, etc. or if you prefer something else there's a full bar. read more

Had looked forward to having Walleye fish my entire visit in Minn/Wis and I wasn't disappointed. I grew up in the area and Walleye is fished by both locals and pros. I was delighted they had it on the menu. One lady was the bartender, order taker, waitress and even bused all the tables. This is the Midwest work ethic I was raised with! She did a great job all the while maintaining a smile and good humor with the customers. Every table including the bar was filled and everybody left happy, including us. My friend had a Ruben sandwich w/ coleslaw and I had the deep fried Walleye sandwich with chips. It got real quiet while we were eating which is a good sign the food was good. The accompanying potato chips were fabulous! Never had fries done this way. They are thin like a chip but actually fried potato medallions. With Wabasha being a small town, this pub is amazing!! I have already made it a point to come back 3 times in just 2 weeks. I've ordered the Shepard's Pie multiple times because it's so filling and all parts are so tender and rich. It could use a little salt, but I don't mind being liberal with the salt shaker. I've also had the Tuesday weekly special of pot roast. It's quite similar to the Shepard's Pie, just somewhat deconstructed. I love that there are weekly specials in addition to the entree favorites. There's parking spots right in front and members of the wait staff are incredibly hospitable. If you're in town or just passing through, this is a great spot to stop in at! I'll be sure to keep visiting every time I'm in the area. read more

Wow! So, I'm from Michigan and was in the Pepin area for a wedding. Sadly we experienced some bad places before my girlfriend found this place as we were driving. Karen was attending the bar, and let me tell you... the food kinda shocked me. The clam chowder was delicious. Outstanding. Then the fish and chips were great and the Rueben was sooooo good. While I likely will not be back due to this being an area I don't frequent, I can say this place was quite the gem. Highly recommend! read more

My friend and I stopped in for lunch. It felt like Cheers, so many cheery locals coming and going. The person working was a saint and the food and drink were to die for. We had Irish coffees, they were executed perfectly(go figure in an Irish bar lol) and we had the herb mushrooms for an appetizer. We cleared the whole pan they were delectable. We both ordered the fish and chips- I would drive all the way back to Wabasha for that fish. It was in the thinnest crispiest batter and the potatoes were fried to perfection. Four of us ate here Wednesday. My folks had the Wednesday special which is broiled Walleye. My wife had Fish and Chips and I had the Shepherd's Pie. A great pub to stop to wet your whistle and enjoy some very good food, if so inclined. Stopped with some friends while on a recent road trip. Enjoyed the ambiance, friendly banter, good beers, and a quick afternoon snack of fried pretzels, breaded mushrooms, and an awesome grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. OMG!! The food here is wonderful and the bar is gorgeous! I wasn't sure about it when I walked in, but reading the menu put me at ease. I had the Irish Stew (wish I got more) and Hot Turkey and Swiss. Yummmm! Edit- found the coleslaw to be, unique. They use apples and it tastes off, even though it was freshly made. Ahhhmazing food. We were very pleasantly surprised by the amazing food here. I had the salmon special. The salmon was beautifully cooked and the carrots were the best I've ever had. The potatoes were so delicious and creamy. My husband, who calls himself a rueben snob said his rueben was great. We will definitely eat here the next time we come to Wabasha. What a nice surprise. This was our first visit to this wonderful pub. We do several day trips all year long from the Twin Cities to Pepin WI, then over to Wabasha and back north. We will return and look forward to our lunch at The Olde Triangle. It was excellent. Bangers and mashed along with great adult beverages from their bar. My bangers and mashed were outstanding as was my wife's patty melt. A spotless little pub with remarkably friendly staff and a menu of delicious choices. We enjoyed our visit here. The bartender also acted as the waitress. Great service despite there being quite a few people. My husband got the special of the day chicken and biscuits. It was similar to chicken pot pie filling with biscuits. I got the shepherds pie which was more like Irish stew over mashed potatoes. Not what I would expect for shepherds pie but it was still good. I do however wish I had gotten the special as well, as it was even better. The Bloody Mary's were above average, although there was a taste that was very unique that neither my husband nor I could place. We ended up hanging out for a few drinks after dinner. Since the place is so small, it was easy to make conversation with fellow diners. I would stop again on our next time in the area. read more

Well, we got the shepherds pie. It was basically mashed potatoes and gravy. I think it was supposed to be the Irish stew poured over mashed potatoes. But I got one piece of meat and one carrot chunk and a few peas. The rest was gravy. Plenty of mashed potatoes though. Anyway, was pretty underwhelmed. read more

Very calm atmosphere in the nice town of Wabasha, Minnesota. I went on a weeknight in July and the bar/restaurant was close to full but not very loud either. I had the cheeseburger with fries as well as soup. It wasn't a five star course but great as bar food. They have a great selection of drinks as well. We only stopped for lunch after visiting the national eagle center, so i cannot speak to the Guinness-pour quality, but I saw some tasty looking glasses go by our table. As to the food: very smart of them to keep a limited menu that is true to what one would expect at a Celtic-type pub. A pub near where we live has about 70 items, and nothing ever turns out quite well. So, in my opinion, they should keep things simple. My fish and chips were delicious. The fish was cooked very well; it was flavorful and moist. The chips, being circular slices of potatoes that had been deep fried, tasted very nice and I liked the look of them on the plate. The wife had bangers and mash. Both parts of the fish were very good. My only suggestion: since a pub, in the British and Irish isles sense, should be a place for families and friends to gather, they would do well to have at least one booster seat and one high chair. Our two year old was mostly seated during our meal, but it would have been nice to make sure she stayed seated. read more

Not many places you can get Sheppard pie and Guinness on tap. This is one of those places. Right from the town that gave you Grumpy Old Men and the National Eagle Museum. I know from walking in I was going to love this place. It smell like really good food. We chose this place because it was a short walk form the Eagle Museum and had a really cool name, super glad we did too. It a bit on the small side but this isn't a large town either. Very quaint and friendly, our waitress was great and put up with my humor. I had the Sheppard Pie, you don't see this often, and it alone will get me to go back and try their Reuben which I would normally order. My dinning companion had the fish and chips and wow the order was huge. Great find on a day trip and a great reason to return to Wabasha. read more

Cute little joint. Cozy atmosphere that's not so loud you can't have a good conversation. Seemingly nice staff. My first disappointment was at the lack of a good hard cider. I was hoping for a Magners or Strongbow, nope. I ordered the fish and chips. When I order fish and chips, there is an understanding of what that is. These were not your expected chips. These were thick cut American chips, not French fries. Good but when you are expecting one thing and get another...a little bit of a let down. I know we are rural and can't really expect fresh fish, but the fish was your standard freezer section, grocery store battered cod. Nothing special. My fella got the stew, again nothing special. This is one of the more unusual Irish pubs I've visited in that there really wasn't a lot of room for people to sit down and eat -- most of the seating was either at the bar or at tall bar tables. Considering the dining area was unoccupied, we decided to occupy it for dinner. We started out with onion rings, and both ordered fish and chips,. The fish and chips were nothing special -- the fish was good (have had better, and have had a lot worse; the fish here is on the good side of the median) but the chips were more on the order of 1/4" potato slabs -- which could work, but didn't here, since many of the slabs were undercooked. The seasoning was pretty good and would have totally rocked the chips had they been adequately cooked. The service was, I suppose I'd say businesslike -- quick, accurate and attentive, just not very personable. On the plus side, the bartender understands a proper Guinness pour, and my pint was very enjoyable. Bottom line, there's a difference between going to an Irish pub and going to a place that serves Irish food. The Olde Triangle gets the second part, but just doesn't have the craic -- the welcoming and fun atmosphere -- that a good Irish pub gets right. read more

Visited a while back. Small place, just right for a lunch for 2. We had the reubens with chips, both very good and lunch size portion - perfect. They also had a sauerkraut sausage soup with potatoes which we were intrigued by. Wow, that was awesome and unexpected! Will be back for another pint and a bite! read more

Best decision I've made in a long time, the server/bartender was very friendly and prompt, the beer was cold and the food... Oh my goodness, the food!! It was amazing!!
