Appetizer: - Breaded Mushrooms w/ Wasabi Mayo dipping sauce ($8). The Breaded Mushrooms are very large, beer battered that creates a thin crunchy shell. Yet, the Wasabi Mayo sauce doesn't complement very well--and if you leave the mushrooms for more than 15 minutes or so, they become soft as the frying oil settles. They're good. Entree: - Steak Dinner w/ Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Garlic Bread, and choice of a side (I chose Asparagus) for $22. First, the Asparagus was thick, seasoned well, crunchy, and perfect. I could eat a plate of them! They proudly proclaim all steaks are from Creekstone Steaks Black Angus. I've never heard of them, but my medium rare 8 oz. NY Strip was chewy and a lacked some marbling which made it dry. The steak should really use a good salting and coarse ground pepper coat before cooking. The steak was cooked a minute past perfect medium rare, but close enough. Still, I NEVER use Steak Sauce, but I did add some Bulliard's Steak Sauce that was on the table. Not really impressed with the steak's pre-cook seasoning. Steak Sauce: Bulliard's Steak Sauce is similar to A1 Steak Sauce, but more Smokey and less acidic. Service: Prompt, friendly, efficient, and attentive. Great! Ambiance: It's a HUGE place with many booths, tables, and seats at the bar. The Bad: their signage outside on the building is not lit, so at night, you may miss it (it's next door to a Sushi place that does have outdoor signage that is lit. Overall: I would say the experience was middle of the road. Affordable prices, plenty of food, but nothing stellar. I may visit again and try something else--and will ABSOLUTELY order the Asparagus! read more

For a "steakhouse" this place is not fancy. We went for lunch and were the only ones there. The service was great and the food was good. I had the walleye sandwich and I liked it. I even ate my leftovers cold and it was good. There is a bar and the drink I had was good. There is handicap parking, but the ramp to walk up is a little inconvenient, but the curb is very short. We walked in and there was no host and we had to wait for the only waiter in the place to seat us. Also the place had an odor of mustiness. I had a steak. I don't believe in using steak sauce because I love the flavor of a well seasoned steak. But it was required to eat this one because it had no flavor. My mashed potatoes were cold and dry. My asparagus was barely cooked and not even Luke warm. The waiter was more of a used car salesman than a waiter and came over to our table to complain about Door Dash and how rude the drivers are. I really feel bad writing a bad review, but as yelper, I feel like it is my responsibility to give the true review. Service was super super super super slow. Like, 10 minutes to get water, another 10 minutes after I arrived so 20 minutes after I arrived to get my drink, and then they asked for my order. Ordered a prime rib, asked him for vooking the neat as rare as possible, with the garlic mashed potatoes, side salad, and broccoli. OK. I was one of three tables, and the other two tables only had two or three people max. I saw the bartender and chef several times sitting and chitchatting, and even showing some PDA while I was waiting for my food and drinks. When my food did come out, the steak was past well done, chaulky in texture, and with no relief with a sauce or anything. McDonald's burger was juicier and more satisfying than this steak. I asked for it to be done again, more rare, and the chef came out to explain that the prime rib steaks arrive already pre-cooked and so they have to just reheat it. It makes complete sense as to why no matter what the chef does to treat the state, it's going to come out over cooked, dry, and chalky. I feel bad, giving a bad review, because I could tell that they were trying so hard, and yet failing so badly. This is why I feel bad given one star. Yes, the service was slow, and unprofessional, watching the server and head chef making out at the bar, and yet, if the quality of food that arrived at the restaurant is already subpar, there is no hope for the food to come out executed as the patrons want. To me, this is a problem of bad food, sourcing, unprofessional behavior that could be easily trained out by management, and therefore I will not be back ever. read more

Amazing food, good service, nice room. Although it was completely empty when we arrived, my wife, mother-in-law and I had an excellent meal. We started with an appetizer sampler; the cheese curds were tasty, the duck wontons were excellent, the chicken wings were fine, and the jalapeño poppers were amazing. The poppers were honestly the best I've had in decades; properly cooked, not too much breading, not overly spicy. I got the ribeye sandwich, my wife got the Johnny Burger, and her mom got the walleye sandwich. The sandwich and burger were both excellent, and my MIL said her sandwich was 'decent' which, coming from her, means anyone else would have called it fabulous. We finished with the White Chocolate Raspberry Cream cake and the Double Chocolate cake. The cream cake was good, the chocolate cake was excellent; it was moist, not overly sweet, and with a lovely nuanced chocolate flavor. There were only 2 tables being served. We, once again, ordered our burgers without onions, and once again, we got onions. The fries were very greasy. My wife and I dined at Johnny last night. We had a coupon for dinner for two for 55 dollars. We both had the New York strip. The dinner came with a choice of wine or tap beer, vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes and dinner rolls. Also included was an appetizer which we had deep fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were plentiful and huge! The steak was cooked to order and juicy. The service was fast and friendly. Do not waste your time! We had dinner there. Service was incredibly slow. We waited so long for our drinks and when they came they were incorrect. Our dinner salads were served after outlets entrees. The food itself was dry and without flavor. The plates were hot, so you know they were languishing under the heat lamps for a long time. There is no excuse for this, being it was a slow night. There didn't appear to be any manager on staff overseeing anything, which is odd for a Saturday night. The decor is sparse. The music kept coming in and out. My mom and I went here for apps and drinks on a Sunday afternoon. Walking in the place was like stepping into an old person's living room - it smelled a bit musty and there was living room furniture toward the main entrance. The server was friendly and prompt, and that's about all I can say for positives. We each ordered a cocktail ($8/drink) and found both to be very weak in booze and flavor. They were each served in a pint glass and were practically see-through. We also ordered the appetizer sampler, 4 options for $12. We chose duck wontons, jalapeño poppers, pizza rolls, and fried pickles. The tray came out really fast which made us a bit wary. Only the fried pickles were actually hot and a roughly 2 oz cup of suspicious looking mayo came out along with ranch and marinara. Long story short I have had gastrointestinal issues all day while my mom, who didn't eat the wontons, didn't have any problems. Would not recommend this place, apologies to the kind server! Our food was good. Our burgers were fantastic, despite we asked for medium and they were both medium well, not a huge deal. The fries have good flavor, onion rings were okay, not the best we've had. My Cuban Mojito was good and fresh. The drink prices are very good. My mojito was $7.00. Service was good,for the most part. My husband asked for water and didn't get it, again not a big deal. No one ever came back after we got our food and it was Also took a while to get a box and our check. They were all moving but I think they might need a couple more people for a Friday night. As soon as you walk into this place it smells very moldy.. The burgers are so dry, The bacon and rice tastes like it's been sitting there for a week straight. The fries are not bad. Do not come here, they charge just as much as Texas roadhouse and really good restaurants but the difference is here everything is very bland and overall gross. read more
