We stopped for an early dinner. There were the 2 of us, 1 other table inside, & 1 outside with some folks at the bar. Our server, Luis, was very polite. Hubby ordered the Herb Roasted Garlic sirloin, medium well & I ordered a Pepperoni Stuffed Meatball Sub w/upgraded side to Mac n Cheese. Hubby asked for fried onions on steak, but his fault for not saying sauteed. The food came quickly with good presentation (steak was completely covered in onion straws). We couldn't wait to dig in. Hubby doesn't want anything less than med well & his steak came pretty red, or Rare-Med Rare. The first bite of my meatball sub was delicious until the spicy kicked in. I wouldn't say I'm a total wimp, but nothing noted spicy in the description, at all, & I probably could have handled it, but I knew it would not be enjoyable for me. We looked around for Luis & figured the obligatory, "how's everything", would bring him soon. Nothing, so, we decided to switch. I like a medium steak, hubby likes spicy, so although not what we anticipated, we began eating. Hubby finished, both drinks were empty, & I had 3 bites left when Luis showed up. We got boxes for our sides & I explained what had happened. When Luis returned, with boxes & the bill, he had discounted the dinner. I started this review with 2 stars, because I was a little angry that no one checked on us sooner, in a basically empty restaurant with 5 servers standing around at the kitchen entrance all through the experience. I added a star back, b/c the food was basically still good, just not what we wanted & the bill was adjusted. I think this all could have been a 4 or 5 star review with some personal attention from a manager & attentiveness to what is going on in the restaurant. I wish we had taken a pic of the rare meat, but hubby took one when it got to the table & after that, pics were not taken. read more

We tried ( and would recommend ) Whiskey glazed potstickers. An excellent spin on a classic. Build your own burger. The patty is good enough to eat without any add ons. My son tried the Elvis and gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. I enjoyed the quesabirria. Sitting on the patio watching the fountain is very nice on a quiet evening. read more

The service was great both times I have been! The servers are all around respectful. The area is very chill. They have a darts machine and my friend and I just played while waiting for our food. THEN wow. The food?!? Is amazing. ESPECIALLY the Jalapeño Cheese Balls and Duck Wontons (Appetizer). One of the best! I had a sandwich there as well the second time, it was amazing. Definitely super underrated. read more

The buffalo Mac and cheese was veryyy buffalo forward, it's basically buffalo pasta haha but still very tasty! This would be a good one to share with a few people since it is very rich. The nachos are sooooo fire!!! The chicken is fantastic but could be more cheesy! I'd ask for a side of the cheese next time I go haha Service was quick, the patio was pretty busy but we ordered, ate and paid all within an hour and a half. This is a multipurpose space, it gives bar and grill but also has a very cute patio that could be a nice date spot! read more

Happy hour runs 3-6. Appetizers are $8, wine $6. Noisy but still able to easily hold a conversation lighting is dim and tavern like. Started with the onion rings which are huge and come in a serving of 6, which is more than plenty. They were extremely salty, the batter was over seasoned and we couldn't finish our order. We also tried the yum yum wings served w ranch. They were sweet with good flavor but the chicken itself was overcooked and dry, we couldn't finish them. Watermelon salad with grilled chicken was delicious as was the mad cow burger (3/4 lb!). The chicken sandwich on Texas toast was good but after eating half we realized it was still pink in the middle. Server (Amanda) was wonderful but overall we were disappointed that half of our food missed the mark. One last note - bartender was constantly adjusting her hair (she must have been hot), and then resumed making drinks (grabbing lime wedges etc, eek!). They should probably wear their hair back to keep their hands clean? Total bill came to $80ish. read more

This was our first time having brunch at Mad Cow and I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the cheddar biscuits and chorizo gravy with the smoked gouda cheesy hashbrowns. It was so good!!! Thursday, July 30th. 2pm. Please wait to be seated upon entering. Waited for a few minutes while the hostess spoke on the phone. Only 20 people in the dining room and bar. I hate to be mean. If I'm being honest the first-time customer impression was a little off. Not the type of person you would expect to see at the front desk walking in. This is a sports bar and restaurant catering to bros wearing sunglasses on their hat. Bartender/waitress was nice and efficient. She had the right look taking into consideration the type of venue. My sandwich was delicious. As a trained chef I will say this. The French onion soup is unequivocally the best I have ever had. In any country. Overall nice experience. read more

We came here on a Saturday night when we had to kill a few hours after dropping our nephew off at an activity. It's nothing fancy. It was not busy, and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly enough and we ordered pretty quickly. There were gluten free designations on the menu which was helpful. I got the quesabirria and my husband got the cheese curd burger with dill fries. My quesabirria was pretty good for it not being a Mexican restaurant. It was cheesy and wasn't spicy, but left something to be desired that only authentic Mexican cuisine can really provide. My husband enjoyed the dill fries but said the burger was pretty disappointing for it being a burger place. read more

I was looking for a place to bring my family for a good burger. I checked Yelp to see what was around me that I haven't tried yet and noticed Mad Cow. The thing that really got my attention though were the ginormous onion rings. My gosh, they looked so good. Gotta give them a try for those. Food-wise, the menu is a good mix of bar food and Americana. Most of my party tried a burger. The burger menu had a good mix of classic and some more interesting ones like a Peanut Thai Jelly Burger. I went with a classic BBQ burger because it came with one of those giant onion rings. The ring was the largest part of my sandwich, so good. Burgers were not huge but still filling. We also tried an order of the onion rings. They were huge and had a good beer batter on them. The horseradish sauce paired well with them. The two winners at this place though were the kids meals and a surprising pasta dish. The kids meal clock in at only $6 but the quality and portion size was a great deal. My kid's pizzas were made fresh and super tasty. The fruit side was actually fresh fruit and not a stale fruit cup. My wife didn't feel like a burger and so got the Carbonara Pasta. It was super tasty and the portion made it into a two-meal dish. I stole a couple bites and it was super tasty. Honestly, I would probably come back and order that instead of a burger. Prices were decent and service was good. The wait to get our food was a tad slow but we were in no rush. Game time deals are very generous and their happy hour specials are not bad. A good choice to meet up and watch the big game in Eagan. read more

We ordered a sandwich, a wrap, and a burger from here via DoorDash. All 3 went in the garbage. Everything tasted like there was a scoop of sugar on top. Way too sweet for us. Gave a two stars because the tater tots were good. read more

Yearning for a good burger I stopped in at Mad Cow to see what the menu had to offer. It was early in the day so it was a seat your self kidn of moment. Honestly I believe there were two servers at the time but shout out to them because they did a good job in attending to all the patrons. Sport bsar ambiance, its definitely a place to brign a friend and grab a beer. Shit back and watch the sports of your choice, as well as sa good gathering spot for your crew. I went with the rodeo cow burger. Cheddar cheese, bacon, one jumbo onion ring piled on top of a homemade burger drizzled with blackberry BBQ saue is just what I needed. I can not say I am 100 percent sold on the fries but they werek good. read more

Unfortunately very inconsistent quality in both food and service. The first time I went, I got one of their specialty cocktails and the wrangler burger with fries. Both the drink and the burger were absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the fries, which were in a spiral wedge shape I had never tried before. My server was very friendly and attentive, doing a great job managing a packed restaurant. When I went again last night, I left extremely disappointed. I got a different specialty cocktail and the yum yum burger. The cocktail was undrinkable, whatever vodka they used was absolutely repulsive and the mixers were not strong enough to override that. The burger was supposed to have crispy onions, but they were very soft. The bacon was too chewy and not cooked well. The entire burger was mushy and the taste wasn't pleasant either. The fries were still good at least. My server this time was also incredibly rude and I had to ask for water multiple times because he kept forgetting. I guess it depends on the day whether you'll be satisfied or upset. Overall, I probably won't go again. read more

Here's a more polished and engaging version of your review: **"We stopped by on a Friday around 2 PM to avoid the happy hour rush. Service was prompt, and our food arrived quickly. I ordered the California burger, which was pretty standard--nothing that really stood out. The fries, however, were a bit different from the usual and surprisingly good. Overall, the bar itself was underwhelming, and the food was just average. Not a bad spot, but nothing particularly memorable either. read more

Man I wish this place were better. I've been here before and the crowd can be rough. Food is okay. I've had a burger here and some onion rings, as well as a few beers. Beautiful patio. The bar is questionable. Staff all seem nice. My sleeves were sticking to the bar because the bar was chipping away and someone felt it was a good idea to place duct tape on the edges. As that withers away, the sticky goo sticks to my white sleeves and ruins my top. The end read more

Their teenage boys that are hosting (apparently it takes three) were insanely rude when we walked in asking for a table on apparently bingo night where we were told there was a wait list 'basically til bingo is over'. I'm a huge fan of this place in Eagan! In the summer, it's great to sit outside on their patio, but they have ample seating inside as well. It can definitely get pretty loud and echoey inside and has a light sports bar energy, so keep this in mind if you're with people who are hard of hearing or like a softer ambiance. My absolute favorite is the Muddy Italiano and I order this almost every single time I come here. The service varies depending on how busy the restaurant gets, but I've never had terrible service. This is a good no-frills joint with a light sports bar energy combined with a fun menu. read more

The cheese burger was so overly cooked it was burnt. Even the replacement was over cooked and very greedy inside.

Friends and I came here for dinner last night around 7:30pm- not too busy for late Friday dinner. Started off with an order of onion rings with two sides of the creamy horseradish sauce. I love how the onion rings are thick and not greasy. In the past, I remember the creamery horseradish sauce being more horseradish tasting which I loved, but the sauce we got was still good. I just love and appreciate a strong horseradish flavor. One of my friend's and I shared the wrangler burger. I appreciated how the kitchen split our burger. Huge thank you- not all restaurants will do that. Burger was cooked perfectly and flavorful. Lasso fries were good as well. I like how this restaurant has the openness to it. Variety of seating- bar, high tops, regular tables, booths, and outdoor seating with fire pits. Appears there are always garage doors that can be opened when nice weather is upon us. There's a pull-tab booth if you'd like test your luck. I also noticed they offer bar Bingo Thursday evenings, I may have to check that out sometime. One thing I find unique about Mad Cow that just makes me laugh is they have cheeseballs in a popcorn machine in the bar area. Our service was average- nothing memorable. Overall, good experience. I'll be back in the future for onion rings and to test my luck at bar bingo. read more

This restaurant is fantastic every time we stop. Came into town late and we ordered a cup of soup and shared a sandwich. It was so good I can't wait to go back again. Server was just as friendly even though it was toward the end of the night. Thank you for that. See you soon! read more

I was shocked to find out Mad Cow was a chain because I had only heard of the Eagan location. My brother and I went late one night and tried to sample almost everything on the menu. Our bellies would not allow this however we ordered the honey wings extra crispy, house fries, and burger of the month which included pepper jack and crispy onion rings. Everything was decent but not the best I ever had. The ambiance provides an excellent venue for after-work happy hours and late-night convos. Mad Cow is not quite family-friendly as I can see the crowd having the propensity to get rowdy once the drinks start pouring in. On the night we went, the service was a tad slow but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal. I imagine they were short-staffed as well. read more

Really glad we checked this place out for the first time. Seated right away and had good happy hour priced beverages. Free cheese balls to snack on (as opposed to popcorn) was kinda fun/different. My husband had turkey club sandwich with onion rings and thought it was good. Sandwich was quite substantial. I had miso ginger salmon salad and it was delicious! Very fresh and flavorful. I like this place and often stop by for a bite to eat on weekdays. The food is delicious and inexpensive.

I went here for lunch with a coworkers because I had never been there. Well I was very impressed with the service and atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and even gave us a few recommendations for burgers and appetizers. We started with the wontons, pizzas rolls and pot stickers. The wontons were fried perfectly and the pizza rolls were a favorite. I ordered Rodeo Burger with onion rings instead of fries and was very impressed. The burger was juicy and very flavorful. The onion rings were crispy and well seasoned. One of my coworkers had the Mediterranean Salad and said it was pretty good. The best part was the dessert we got two orders of the dueling beignets. They were fantastic. If you haven't given them a try I would recommend you make a stop. read more

If not for the manager that compensated the food this would be zero stars, our server was quite bad, had zero personality and had the "I don't want to be here" attitude. The food was just terrible, you would think that a place with "burgers and brews" would have good burgers, but unfortunately (surprisingly?) that was not the case. One ordered medium came well done and dry, the other ordered well done was a black and hard. Lastly I do again want to give a strong thumbs up to the manager, she was apologetic and seemed to be genuinely empathetic that it was as bad as it was, but unfortunately that would not make me want to come back due to the food being just awful. read more

Saturday evening, 6:30PM. We were seated quickly at a low-top table in the back. Nothing special, but it worked. Wife ordered the monte cristo with fries, I ordered the reuben with fries, and our side ordered mac and cheese. All food was served in a timely manner, but if I'm being honest, it was just mediocre food. Add two beers and a lemonade to that order, and the final bill was $94 after tax, convenience fee, and tip - that's a bit much for two sandwiches and mac 'n cheese. Server was fine - he scooped up a $15 tip by taking our order and then coming by to ask if we were ready for our check. Ultimately, we won't be back. Mad Cow is just way too vanilla, nothing special, especially at $30+ per plate (inclusive of a kid's plate of mac n' cheese). There are far too many establishments in the area that deliver something more. read more

This seemed to be my burger day starting with here. It's very dark inside and felt cool. Then I noticed the patio and how bright it was. I'm not usually the type for the patio, but I am here. It overlooks the most beautiful pond I ever saw. The type where you want to dive right in. First thing I see on the table is spotty flatware. I got a burger, of course and it was pretty good with neatly placed lettuce on request. When I went to put on the ketchup, inside there was a good sized charred spot on the bun. I was told the soup of the day was my favorite, mushroom. To my shock it was loaded with chopped pimentos. Kind of ruined it, but it was not bad otherwise and had huge chunks of mushrooms. The couple across from me got fries with their burger and I thought they were chicken wings. They looked kind of unusual but I may try them. Nikki was my excellent server. There are some quirks here, but that patio will keep me coming back. read more

They are a part of the Muddy restaurant chain, so been meaning to check this out. We had drinks at the bar inside while waiting for patio seats. The outside area was surprisingly bigger than expected. However, service was a bit lacking. Had a few apps - duck bacon wontons and cheese curds. Cheese curds batter were weird, not like the usual you would expect. They were just ok. Duck wontons were really good though. Ordered the Wrangler burger and the Muddy Clucker. The burger was also just ok. It wasn't juicy or flavorful. The bottom bun was soggy. Just fell flat overall. The chicken sandwich was pretty good and had lots of flavor. We figured the kitchen did not time our orders correctly. Probably had the burger sitting under the heat lamp while they prepared the chicken sandwich. There is an outside bar area, it's pretty cool. Duck bacon wontons (looked like store bought) was the best out of all the foods! Huge parking lot shared with BBW and Houlihan's. read more

Yum Yum burger is supposed to have wings sauce but had almost none and was extremely dry. Wife ordered cheeseburger rare and it was tough as a hockey puck.
