Plenty of seating and a nice patio to enjoy on a summer night. I ordered the yum yum boneless wings and a wedge salad. My friends got the portobello sandwich and the yum yum burger. Food took longer than it should've to come out. Yum yum burger had no yum yum sauce on it and after telling the waitress, I think my friend waited about 15 minutes for the side of sauce. I asked for a water refill and the waitress ran off with my water glass for at least 10 minutes. Definitely forgot about it. The yum yum wings were AMAZING and the wedge salad was good but it was swimming in dressing. All in all, I liked my meal, but my friends were less than impressed with the wait and the food issues. Our waitress needed some more training or something for sure. I get that it's hard to find wait staff right now and restaurants just went through hell and back but it's still annoying to have poor service when you dish out nearly $20 for a decent weeknight dinner (after tipping 20% because serving is hard work and you walk/run your a** off, even if you forget things). They gained a start back because they DID take some $ off my friend's bill for the yum yum sauce fiasco and our waitress was very nice and apologetic. I really liked this place. It was my first time here. I believe that this is the old Jake's location. The drinks are fairly priced but I felt like the food was up there. Now the food was very good, so you could say that it was worth it. The patio is very nice with a fountain. The service was also decent. The staff were friendly. Great burgers with yummy toppings! I loved the cheese curd burger and garlic aioli. The pickles were amazing too, and the bacon was perfect. Our server was attentive. We were in and out pretty quick. Horrible service. Manager shouldn't be allowed to talk to customers. Food was decent. We were sat promptly, and the server took our order in a reasonable amount of time. The problem is, we waited 40 minutes for food. Nothing fancy...soup, potato, mac&cheese, burger. Every table around us sat, ate, and had left, or were about to leave, before we got our food. That was problem number one. Problem number two is that the manager on duty should not be allowed to converse with the customers. The server was avoiding us after a while, because he sensed we were getting agitated. When we did get his attention, we asked to speak to a manager. The manager came at us, very loud, and aggressive. He made a bad situation, terrible. He caused a scene by yelling, saying his people were doing what they could, food comes out at different times, which we totally understand. Our situation was a little different...I'm guessing our order was not put in properly, or something similar. The way that the manager handled things was horrible. It's as if he came out looking for a fight. We were just hungry, and wanted to know why other tables had eaten, and left, when we didn't even have food yet. This was on 2/9/24. Friday evening. I'd say the restaurant was 3/4 full. No waiting for tables. I definitely won't be returning to this restaurant. I'll probably avoid their other restaurants too. Our server was less than thrilled and was not super knowledgeable on the menu. My husband had the Yum Yum burger. The flavors were really good but the burger itself was not juicy or cooked properly. The Flammin Bleu Berry Burger had a take flavor profile and there was not much "Flammin" about it. With that name you would expect some heat. The burgers were over cooked which is very disappointing. We had a great experience tonight! My husband, my 3 year old daughter and myself stopped in for dinner. Our server (Samantha I am pretty sure) was super friendly, accommodating and attentive. First time customer. We ordered three regular burgers and a Turkey burger online for customer pickup. Two with fries, one w pickle fries and one tots. The app notification said to be there to pickup the food at 7:45 pm on a 7:00 order - thought that was slow, but ok it is Friday night. Decided to get there early (7:25) and the food was ready and bagged on the counter to take away - pleasant surprise, and I'm glad I didn't wait for their suggested pickup time. We live pretty close, I got the food home still warm. Our two nieces were very happy with their burger and cheeseburger and fries. I really liked the rodeo burger, but the giant onion ring on the burger was pretty soggy/over breaded. The pickle seasoned fries were excellent, as were the tots that came with my wife's Turkey burger. Now the tough part. My wife spit the Turkey out immediately "that's disgusting. I can't eat that". I'm thinking she may be being overly dramatic, so take a bite. I couldn't spit it out fast enough. One of the worst restaurant items I have ever tasted in my life (I'm old). Marcie, our13 year old niece, laughing, said " I have to try that now!" She takes a bite. "that tastes like ass". Kids language these days! Anyway, good beef burgers and sides, poor timing on their app's pickup instructions, and the terrible Turkey. Burger places don't have to just be burgers and fries, and the Mad Cow recognizes this! I loved my Blu Berry Burger. Cooked to my preference, this burger was better than I could have hoped for. While I love French fries, who doesn't, I appreciate when a restaurant will offer something a little bit out of the norm as a sub. I got roasted mushrooms which came in a mini Dutch oven. Presentation was on point, not to mention these mushrooms were yummy. Perfect seasoning and the only thing I would have changed would have been to get the garlic mashed potatoes, too. Overall I do recommend eating here or anything of their other locations/sister companies, but I will say sometimes the food you get is hit or missed and not uniformed from when you ordered it the time before. Sometimes I go in and I get perfect looking wings and sometimes they're kind of hacked but the butcher it seems. Like there is no quality check of product by the cook? One day you could get the full wing, like the drum, wing and wing tip is on there and other days you have perfectly cut up wings and drums, some days your sauce it super saucy and some days they're dry as a bone, now don't get me wrong it's still all delicious but the inconsistency can be disappointing when you're expecting it a certain way, especially when sometimes the sauce is a little too saucy. Great service though, great specials and always a great time. The food is still much worth it, just feel like they need a little more of a check over before serving their food, cause sometimes we get the mussels and they're all open but sometimes we get it and there are like 10 that haven't popped open yet either so you can't eat them. This was my first visit to Mad Cow in Eagan. I went with my mother in law and sister in law. It was about noon on a Saturday. The place was busy but not packed. There were several Little Leaguers having lunch so clearly kid and TEAM friendly. Maybe because of the kids, I don't know, but it was really noisy. My mother in law ended up taking out one of her hearing aids (on the side near the outside of the booth) so she could hear our conversation. I had the Muddy Clucker which is a chicken breast very lightly battered and fried on a brioche bun. It had a little kick (which I like) and was very juicy. Delicious! My mother in law had the Reuben and my sister in law had the pastrami sandwich. Both were generous portions and they said each was delicious as well. My disappointment was in the kettle chips that accompanied the sandwich. They were not fresh made and I, unfortunately, got the bottom of the bag and ended with a bowl of crumbs. Our server was attentive and not particularly excited to be there. Nonetheless, she performed her job well. We all decided that we will definitely come back. It was too cold for the inviting patio.
