Teresa's has a parking lot which is nice. Our waitress was nice and I've been here a couple of times and never had an issue with the service. The food here is okay, but nothing has ever given me that "wow". I mainly go here if someone I know really wants to eat here. We got steak fajitas and chicken nachos. The fajitas were good, and so were the rice and beans. I bite into what I think is a decent size bone in the nachos. I get mistakes can happen in the kitchen, but after that I didn't want to eat any more nachos. I'd only eat here again if someone I'm with really wanted to. Love the food at Teresa's! I've had the Diablo shrimp, combos, and much more. This time I ordered the enchiladas ranchero, chicken quesadilla and chicken enchiladas with sauces on side since I didn't want it to get too soggy since it was a carry out order. Fast service, hot foods and great portions. Only minor thing was that I found a small bone in my chicken quesadilla. You get a generous bag of chips and salsa with your order, too! We've always enjoyed the food and their Alambres are usually great, although very inconsistent in their portions and "construction". There is a fine line between prompt service and rushing customers though. Teresa's always verges on the side of rushing customers. Tonight, the service blew right part rushing customers without blinking. First, I was asked for my drink order before I had even sat down. Second, in the minute and a half it took for the server to bring our drinks, we were positioning our daughter's car seat in the booth. My menu had not been opened yet and I was asked if I knew what I wanted to order. It's a Wednesday night. The restaurant is 1/3 full. Our table is not that valuable that we need to be rushed out the door in under 40 minutes. read more

We were in town for a sporting event and decided to try Teresa's. The restaurant itself is cool - smaller than we are used to with high ceilings and a really cool mural. The menu was typical. My daughter chose mac & cheese with a side of rice. I got a carnitas burrito. We also ordered a cheese dip. First off - cheese dip was FIRE. Better than our usual place back home. Salsa was flavorful and chunky - perfection. Food was great! Mine had way too many sliced onions but I ate around them. Our server was so nice - brought an ice cream cone for my daughter. Went here with a friend for happy hour. We had the $6 margaritas and they were HUGE. The staff were very attentive and friendly. There was plenty of seating inside but we sat outside on the patio which was really nice. There is also plenty of parking available within their lot. It is impossible to say which was worse: the food or the service. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was nearly empty. All the food we ordered was over-cooked and served cold (omelet with breakfast potatoes and torta with french fries). The white queso was one big, congealed lump and even the tortilla chips were burned. The small bottle of salsa was good, but we were never offered more. The service was unbelievably terrible. The man who served our table was frenetic and abrupt. He practically threw the plates on the table then raced off as quickly as possible. He demonstrated great urgency about clearing one table and sweeping the floor. It was impossible to get his attention; three times we had to either leave the table to find him or ask another server to send him over. He did not bring refills on salsa, chips, or water. The appetizer was forgotten so we got the queso after the meal, without apology. $10 for a small cup of queso that was a blob ... but no chips to go with it. While we were all still eating, the server asked if we wanted to-go containers. He also checked several times to see if we'd completed payment. It was clear he wanted us to leave so he could get on with whatever he considered more important than taking care of the customers. My waitress was super nice and attentive. I started off with the happy hour margarita which was frozen strawberry. I noticed that drinks sneaks up on you so be careful. Lol For my appetizer I went with guacamole. What I realized is they I am more of a table side guac where it's chunky and I can't control my seasoning rather than a cream guacamole. My entree was exceptional! I went with the chicken and steak fajitas with a side of rice, beans and a salad. I like a little more rice so I didn't ask for extra. However, the fajitas was seasoned so perfectly I found myself sipping in the juice. Definitely a great experience. I would give it an 8/10. read more

This is an odd one cause it wasn't exactly my taste, but it could be yours. Marlon took great care of us. He brought the salsa and chips right away. A perfect mild for me. I like how they give you 2 small bowls so you don't fight over the salsa. Now we get into preferences. The chips are too thick for me compared to other places, Basil liked them fine. He got the Bistec a la Tampiquera. I think it means beef tips with a lot of stuff. He loved it and I enjoyed a couple of bites not in the wraps. It comes with a cheese enchilada. Rice and beans of course. One bite not bad. I had a taco salad with ground beef. A warm shell, a first. It was in the oven a minute too long so I didn't eat the top of the shell. Plenty of items to make it moist and the beef wasn't greasy. I got it with no beans. There is a lot of space and the tables all seat 6. Love the location and glad it's not a chain. read more

They're doing things right in Eagan! While you can find many Americanized-Mexican places, I found this place to be genuinely good without any pretenses. The host and staff were solid, quick, and good on suggestions. The place itself seems made to cater to larger amounts of people and it was clean. The meat was well- seasoned (especially the steak) but the vegis (both bean options) and rice were under-seasoned. The flan was very nice with hints of honey and chocolate, but by itself, it also needed some extra seasoning. A bit blah without the syrups. Overall, it was a good, affordable meal and it hit the spot. I would come again and suggest to others. read more

Had this been my first time at Teresa's, I would be giving 1 star. However, I've been here many times and I usually have a great experience. Their arroz con pollo is amazing!! Service was good too. I came here last night and ordered my usual arroz con pollo. It was good, but I didn't eat it all so I took some home. Fast forward to tonight- I'm eating my leftovers and I go to take a bite of chicken and something pokes the inside of my mouth. I spit it out and look at it only to realize it is a bone!!! This was the last straw for us... ordered food to go. Received burnt microwaved kids meals (incorrect as well despite telling them twice on the phone no lettuce or tomato). Burrito meat was dry and obviously reheated. Everything was obviously reheated (most likely microwave) given the meal was ready in less than 10-15 mins from ordering. If I'm paying $60+ for a meal I expect a restaurant actually cooks fresh. They used to be great. But this is the third strike for us. I do not recommend eating here. It's OK for American Mexican food but last time I was there a few days ago, I noticed they jacked up their prices, on items I commonly order it was 20%. Apparently thats a common thing there according to the other server. We understood that it happens so didnt complain and have him all the time needed. He started by only taking the adults drinks and not any kids. When we asked for their drinks I was giving a hold finger and said he was busy. He then did not want to take the order until we figured out how to split the bill which we told him wasn't a big deal. He forced us to do so anyways. We stopped by Teresa's for lunch. We found a nice, clean, modern restaurant. The staff was kind, attentive, and helpful. I ordered the street tacos lunch and honestly could not finish them. They were so incredibly salty they were inedible. It's rare that I ever let food go to waste. The restaurant is nice. Nice place to grab drinks, quick lunch, and they have a lot of seating options for small to large groups. It's funny how the same restaurant can offer such vast experiences to its patrons. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the new Teresa's location in Eagan. While it doesn't have the same charm as the Mendota Heights location, it is beautifully decorated and spacious and serves the same great food. I call the style of food Minn-Mex because it is a form of Tex-Mex, but less spicy. The servers, though, are happy to bring spicier options like a side of fresh or pickled jalapenos. Don't be afraid to kick it up a notch. We ordered dinner and a pitcher of Texas margaritas (YUM!) to sip while munching on chips and salsa. The beef fajitas came out sizzling with a plate of toppings including guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo along with rice and beans and tortillas to stuff the fajitas into. The meat was well seasoned and the ratio of veggies to meat was perfect. My boyfriend's seafood enchiladas looked a little on the skimpy side, but he ate both of them. I'm sure you can ask for it, but I'd like to see the display of hot sauces that the Mendota Heights location has on its tables. It makes a nice addition to guests, like me, who like to spice up the salsa that is served with the chips. I love Teresa's in Mendota and Lakeville. I feel like they are all just a little different, and the Eagan one is probably still finding its groove. I didn't think the food was as good as the other two locations, and I frequent the one in Mendota almost weekly with my mother in law. I ordered the enchiladas which I almost always order...and they just weren't as good as the other locations. I feel like Mendota is the best, followed by Lakeville and then this location. I will most likely drive the extra 5-10 mins to go to Mendota. Friend ordered the fajitas and loved them. Massive portion and he couldn't finish them. I ordered enchiladas and I feel like it was missing something...don't know what, but just wasn't as good as other locations. Husband ordered flautas and he said they were not done as well as the Mendota location either. We will give them some time and try again. read more

Came here today out of my comfort zone to meet with a friend for lunch in her neck of the woods. I have never been to this place before, so this is a first-time review. It is located within a strip mall with various other businesses, as many of the other stores and restaurants on Diffley are. When I entered, it was not busy at all, and this was around noon. My friend and I had our pick of where we wanted to sit. We were first at a booth, and then decided to move to a table for more space. Our server was friendly and attentive enough in the beginning, but as business started to pick up, he seemed to have become a little flustered. More on that later. I'll be honest, if I'm out this way, I only go to one other Mexican restaurant (suggested by another Yelper), and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good. I ordered the two menu items for $9--a shrimp taco and an enchilada, which came with rice and beans. The shrimp taco was good and flavorful enough. The enchilada was very delicious! I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate, but my manners wouldn't allow me to do so. LOL My friend had the queso fries and a margarita, but she didn't finish the fries because they were too greasy for her. There was A LOT of stuff piled on them, and she probably didn't realize they would be that dense. Now, on to the service: Again, he was friendly and checked in with us when service was slow, but as I wrote earlier, he started to get a little waylaid with seating and serving other patrons as the restaurant got busier. We wanted to get our bill, but it was on one ticket, and we asked to get it split, since my friend had a drink. He split the bill, and my friend paid in cash, and I was ready to pay with my card; however, our server kept coming past our table and not picking up our bills. My friend was getting impatient and said if he came past us one more time without picking up our checks, we were going to leave! LOL He finally came by and got our bills, but there seemed to be some confusion around that, as once he picked them up and came back to our table, he gave us the wrong bill and didn't give my friend her change. He also ran my card for the incorrect amount, and I had to ask him to re-run my card with the correct total and give my friend her change. As I wrote, I think he had too many tables to serve at the same time and was getting a bit confused with who had what and the total. I would have appreciated less hassle, but it was what it was. I don't know if I will return, as I still prefer the other place in Eagan, as that restaurant seems a bit friendlier and more authentic, for lack of a better description. read more

Fortunately, despite the parking lot looking full, there was plenty of room inside and we were seated immediately at a booth near the bar - perfect. Out came the waiter and a big basket of chips and salsa, which is the norm for Mexican restaurants these days, I guess. Also the norm seems to be the wait staff being Mexican, too. Our waiter was very pleasant, attentive, and got the job done, but the language barrier was somewhat of a challenge - I asked what kind of tap beer they had, and was only able to understand "Modelo" and "Dos Equis"...the rest of what he rattled off was incomprehensible and the tap beers aren't listed in any sort of menu (hint Teresa's - please list your beer menu somewhere, which allows patrons to read). Anyway, my wife ordered fish tacos (she said they were some of the best fish tacos she's ever had), I ordered the burrito tapatio (I'll give it a 7 out of 10 rating), and my son ordered mac n cheese off the kid's menu (it was reheated Kraft box mac n cheese - he didn't complain). All-in-all, the food was pretty good, portions were massive, and the food arrived to our table in a timely manner after ordered. Based on the food alone, we'll certainly be back, although I'll likely try something else next time around. Finally, we finished the evening with an order of churros and ice cream, which we all split. These were some of the best we've ever had, and these alone will get me back to Teresa's - they're a must have! All-in, our total bill for 2 adult meals, 1 kid's meal, 1 dessert, 1 soda, 1 25oz Dos Equis, 1 kid's lemonade, and 2 baskets of chip with salsa came to $49, which I thought was a bargain. Ultimately, we'll certainly be back to Teresa's. Give it a try, and don't let the parking lot fool you if it's packed, there's likely still room inside. read more
