Stop #25 on our Hundreds of Hops Tour

Stop #25 on our Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Tour We'd been in before in a rush. This time, we took the time to soak it all in. The patrons here were a bit more playful, not in a childish way - more like how one might interact with an adult sibling. I think that reading through the drink menu names gives you a good idea of the environment The Dunkel was OK (3). As a Dunkel lover, I may have high expectations. Everything else was pretty solid 4

This is one of our favorite local hangs, solid beer, great variety (aside from standard IPA, brown, cream, blonde, etc they now have sour and NA beer made in house as well), and always have an excellent variety of food trucks and entertainment every week. They have live music weekly, Vingo, Bar Bingo, pull tabs, and in the summer, their patio is pet friendly. If they don't have a food truck at the time, they have Heggies pizza available all of the time as well as other small snacks as they do not make regular food in house. The space is always clean, and the beer-tenders are all very nice and knowledgeable about their stuff. Great family run business.

This is a Vikings bar and I know this because I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the game was on. Exciting to see the fans cheering and then their eventual disappointment at the end. There was an announcement that when the Vikings are ahead, beers are $1 cheaper. That didn't last long. Oops. I enjoyed a couple of beers and their wifi, writing up a couple of Yelp reviews and working out where I would be parking for the evening. Bald Man doesn't have a kitchen, but they do have food trucks and I was lucky to enjoy a great one this afternoon. Good beer and I thought it was a fun time. This is my second time in Eagan, so I have visited Bald Man both times here. This place has an amazing selection of beer. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and made you feel right at home. It is a pretty good size place, so plenty room to bring a few friends and hang out. I recommend checking out this place!!

Love the beer, not a fan of the location. I wish it was closer to restaurants and not a business park. They do have an exceptional patio and plenty of seating. They have food trucks as well, beer and food trucks is a killer combo!! Plenty of parking but it can get tight during peak times. Bald Man is well know in the Twin Cities and will be around for many more years.

I had not been to Bald Man Brewing since we were looking for houses in Minnesota for the first time. Note, that was a long(ish) time ago. I have been missing out. The space is just as I remembered it, but the beer made me happy inside. They are offering up libations from a Barleywine to a Lager. I only got a Pint, but will for sure be back to try some of the other beers that are on tap. Juice Box Hero: A Hazy Pale Ale hopped with the trio of Cashmere, Idaho 7, and El Dorado hops. I really wish there were more Hazy Pale Ales out in the wild. You get the tropical fruit aromas and flavors like in this beer I get tangerine, melon, and pineapple. While being a lower ABV, less full bodied, and just easier to drink (better 'drinkability'). The style is one that you can knock a few back and not feel too terrible unlike an IPA, Double IPA, or Triple IPA where you are probably going to be one to two and done. Thanks Bald Man for the wonderful expression of flavors while still allowing me to enjoy my happy hour and evening. _______________

This is my second time here. The last time was during covid times. I decided to come back in because I picked up one of those travel minnesota flyers in my hotel. There was a coupon for b1 g1 free pint. I had two of the ipas and they were both amazing. The service was excellent at the bar. Plenty of parking and lots of seating. Signs in the bathroom said they have trivia and other events too!

What a find. Perfect Monday afternoon break from the grind. We popped in, sampled the Tupelo Honey Brown Ale, ordered up two pints = $7... what a deal! Started a tab, enjoyed some great beer. Nice selection with 12 brews on tap that I counted. Our next round was the Hazy Shade of Winter Hazelnut Brown. Loved it. The Taproom is big, opens up to a nice, enclosed patio area. Plenty of tables and chairs inside and out. Saw a stage I assume jams home live tunes I'll have to check out next time. Staff was nice, helpful. This was our first time, but won't be our last.

I keep coming back! I love that they do trivia throughout the year and have music on the patio in the summer. It's a great space to get together and there's something for everyone. Beer, seltzers, kombucha, and pop! The only thing I've heard from my partner is that there's not a lot of diversity in the beer.

We went here to use our Pub Pass but Monday was BOGO so we decided we come back with the pass. I had a Dark Side of the Moon Porter which was very tasty. We met friends here and had a nice high top table near the window. The place was rocking for a Monday as I guess others were up for BOGO as well. Service was great with lots of good advice on beer choices. The pizza looked good but we'll save that for next visit. Getting to the front door is a little odd as it looks like you are entering a business parking area but keep going to the end and you'll get there. Great stop.

Good honey wheat kölsch. No dogs. Lots of babies. One obviously needs a beer. Great view of old Cedarvale development. Come a long way since dark beer (that's right, just called "dark beer") at Pizza Hut was ordering something exotic.

    Seasonal flight
    Laura A.

Bald Man Brewing is a great vibe. Clean, welcoming atmosphere with friendly bartenders. We met some friends on a Tuesday for trivia night hosted by Trivia Mafia. Great beer selection. You can't create your own flight but the two flight options are the standard faves and seasonal offerings. Our favorite was the hazelnut brown ale. Aromas of a s'mores campfire and very drinkable for a darker beer. The ring of fire jalapeno cream ale was the talk of the table. Warning- more than MN spicy! The only reason we didn't give a 5 star rating was because there wasn't any recreation to do inside such as bags or other bar games. We will definitely return!

As for the coffee, I tried the carrot cake latte as per baristas recommendation and was really good! I got a 12 oz with an extra shot because I like my coffee flavor strong and it was perfect. The espresso has a bit of that bitter taste so if that's not what you like this probably isn't the coffee for you. My only reason for 4 stars is the price. My coffee was 8.92 with no tip so I paid $10 for a 2 shot drink today. I hope that once they have been running the coffee part for a while that the price can come down at least a dollar. Most extra shots are about 75 cents to 1 dollar at other coffee shops whereas it's 1.25 here. Will be back to try other specialty items!

The seltzers; we tried the peach, the strawberry lemonade and the pickle. I enjoyed the pickle but I do love pickles! Mom didn't think it was great. My brother enjoyed the mimosa. Named for the state's status as the 32nd to join the Union, the establishment is built around a "Beer Wall"--a self-pour monument to local brewing that promises the drinker ultimate autonomy. It is a large, inviting space, designed for the expansive social ritual of a modern taproom.  The culinary offerings here are a pleasant surprise, rising significantly above the standard "hole-in-the-wall" bar fare. The menu feels intentional rather than an afterthought, providing a solid foundation for the liquid education happening at the taps. One cannot fault the quality of the sustenance or the hospitality of the staff, who remain remarkably friendly despite a recurring operational shadow: the house always seems to be exactly one person short. Each shift carries the palpable energy of a team perpetually running a man down, a testament to their grit but a strain on the overall rhythm of the room. However, the centerpiece of the experience--the self-serve technology--is where the friction lies. While the concept of filling one's own glass is liberating, the digital interface lacks a certain clairvoyance. There is nothing quite so deflating as committing to a pour only to have the keg go "bust" mid-stream, or finding that the tap you've selected is already dry. The system requires a more robust marriage of software and cellar management; the guest should not have to be the one to discover a vacancy in the line. "A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure." -- Czech Proverb Union 32 is a noble experiment in craft beer culture, providing a vast playground for the adventurous palate. But until the technology catches up with the inventory, and the roster is filled by that one missing player, it remains a work in progress--even if the beer itself is already a finished masterpiece.
