SMASH BURGER - butter toasted brioche bun, two smashed beef patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, shredded lettuce & special sauce
Jitt B.

Been here a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed each time! The atmosphere and ambience was elegant and cozy. The decor was beautiful. The cocktails were fantastic and the meal even better! I had the Thai chicken salad and my husband had the Smash Burger. There were both delicious! The server was attentive and very friendly. We highly recommend this spot!! We'll definitely come again!

Met my brother here tonight for dinner. It took a long while and twice another wait person coming over to tell us our server would be with us after he took care of something. We weren't in a rush so. We did finally get our drinks and order. I had the chicken wrap with sweet potato's. My husband got the brisket sandwich. I really didn't care for mine didn't like what ever sauce they had on it. Sweet potatoes were ok. My husband said the brisket sandwich was fine. We finally put our dirty dishes on the table next to us which was full of dirty dishes the whole time we were in the restaurant. Not the best food or service.

Fruit Fly Frenzy! This is one of our go to restaurants, and as always, the service was fabulous. It was shift change, which made it a little bit slower than usual, but our server was absolutely amazing. The food was just OK today. Disappointed in the nachos. The chicken appeared to be very dry and just boiled with very little flavor. The sliders were amazing. Always my favorite and always a go to. Definitely missed the mark today on cleanliness, my wine glass looked like it had soap baked onto the stem and it was so cloudy I even lifted it up to make sure it was actually not a clouded glass. There were fruit flies everywhere. Not sure if they came in with the wine, or the fresh jalapeños.

We came in as a walk-in basketball team of 25 people and they handled our large group like pros. Food and drinks ranged from just okay to tasty, but slightly overpriced compared to competitors in my humble opinion. Salads and fruits were fresh. I would ask my teen kids to order a meal instead of the brunch buffet next time because they were charged as adults and would have gotten much more food for a lower price than their buffet. Ambiance is casual and mostly modern. Come as you are.

Very disappointing! Ate here on a Tuesday night 6:15, not too busy. Haven't eaten here in maybe 6 years, used to be a very nice place with good food, it has gone way down hill, went to the restroom, wish I had my phone with me, looked terrible nothing has been put into keeping it nice, very bad restrooms, my husband said the same about his, they are not putting any money back into the place. I ordered Turkey club melt, it was actually pretty good but my waffle fries were not even luke warm and I had them 1/2 eaten by the time my ordered seasoned sour cream came out. My husband ordered a beer and it arrived just a few minutes before the food, she said the bartender got busy........too busy to pour a tap beer. There actually were some fruit flies hovering at our table the entire meal, killed a few but more came, yuck! My husband had the brisket sandwich $17.00 and hardly any meat in it, See photo. and the meat that was in it must have got cooled down quite fast from the cole slaw as it was not at all warm. Stupid me decided to get dessert (which I rarely do) and got the crem bru le, which was the thinnest layer I have ever seen and I have never had it cold, just got home from a cruise that had the best so I don't know what I was thinking ordering it when our entire dining experience was not good, I finally asked for more water when the dessert came. We will not be coming back, work too hard for our money to pay there high prices and undesirable food.

Went to The Tavern Grill during a standard dinner time. There was a 10 minute wait for a table, so we opted for the bar. Our server/bartender was a multitasking queen. We ordered the Buffalo salad and the Thai salad (not the actual names, but the general idea of them). They were both very large and had more protein on them than originally expected. We couldn't finish them. Not wanting to make lunch tomorrow we each ordered a pizza to go (one Buffalo and one BBQ). The taste test of the Buffalo pizza was the right amount of Buffalo flavor. They even provide sauce on the side in case you want to add more. We sat at the bar for over two hours just chatting and never felt pressured to leave. Between that am being able to split the bill and pay via phone (not the toast app) were top tier. A go to staple in the Blaine area, I'll certainly be back.

Stopped in for a quick happy hour drink and an appetizer on a Friday after work. The bartender, Sam, was awesome. Super kind and friendly and attentive. As soon as I sat down I was greeted and asked if I'd like a menu. She came back shortly to take my drink order and asked if I was ready for food. I ordered a whiskey drink from their specialty cocktail menu. It was just ok. Nothing more or less than what I was expecting. For an app I settled on the Tavern Style Sliders. You get 4 for $9.99 which I felt was a pretty solid deal. They were terrible. Like, don't order these. The patties were unseasoned and dry. Stale buns. Very underwhelming. Two pizzas came out while I was there and they both looked excellent. Leaving me to believe pizzas are the way to go. Because the bartender was so awesome I will definitely be back to try one.

Receipt showing the incorrect charge

Watch your receipt. I ate dinner there on 7/25, at 8:25 PM. My food and beverage bill was 31.03. I gave my server Kanesha my credit card to ring this up. When she brought back the receipt for me to sign it was entered wrong as $44.60 (which also was the amount I tipped off of). It was my fault for not checking this receipt, and I first caught this while doing my expense report. I hope this is an isolated incident but getting a 50% extra unexplained charge is NOT good customer service or attention to detail. Since my company won't reimburse this will come out of my pocket. Also, the French Dip sandwich was not very good.... The beef was not tender and cut way too thick.

Chicken Wrap

B E A U T I F U L S P A C E Lunchtime delight It is very friendly in here, and the service is top notch. Both friends had the Chicken Wrap, it is ginormous. On the other hand, I saw the Sesame Styx on the appetizer menu and the chicken with the sesame batter sounded Devine! Now, lately, I've been served over Fried food when I go out. I usually just eat it & not complain. But this time they were sooo dark and super super crunchy, I told the server. Without blinking an eye she ordered a new one. It was darker and more crunchy than the 1st order! I've never had sesame battered chicken straps before, so maybe that's how they are supposed to be? Anyhoo, the peanut dipping sauce made it worth it. The server told me that the chicken was raw to start, so maybe it had to be cooked longer? Chicken was certainly moist and tender! SPARKLEY CLEAN!!!

Our experience here was pretty good. We were seated pretty quickly we had 4 adults and 2 children and were having lunch. Our waitress was good. She was friendly and helpful. It's a very nice upscale looking place. They have options for make your own burger, pizza & salad. We ordered an appetizer and the kids meals first. We also had a cup of soup which came out first. The apple slices were very sour if your kids prefer sweeter I would have them order a different side. We had 2 make your own salads and one make your own burgers which were good.

Food 4/5 - I haven't been to Tavern for months and decided to have lunch here on a week day. The burger was good, salad had fresh ingredients, the chips were so flavorful and made in house. Overall pleasant lunch experience. Service / Ambiance 5/5 - A spacious and well lite restaurant. The service was great and we got our food within 15-20 minutes.

Service was super friendly, food came out fast and hot--always a win. My husband did his homework beforehand and found out they have pretty high standards for sourcing their meat, which we love so it was a super easy decision to come. We started with an order of the Caulafel Bites--he liked them, but I thought they were a little... funky? They were shaped like little pucks and pretty dense. I was super hungry haha so we ALSO got an order of the Burrata Caprese (basically a burrata + tomato bruschetta with crostinis situation), and WOW--this was amazing. The bed of arugula underneath the burrata felt slightly random but that may be because I'm not a veggie girl :p For my entrée, I got the Steak Frites, and this was easily my favorite part of the meal. Perfectly cooked steak with that rich house béarnaise sauce and asparagus--SO good. It also came with a side of fries that always makes a meal ten times better! My husband got the Impossible version of the Royale burger, and unfortunately it just didn't hit for him--and the Moroccan fries were a miss too. So overall... mixed experience depending on who you ask, but I personally loved everything I ordered and would come back!

The ambiance is 5/5 for sure 90's theme is really well done and the garage door to a patio who doesn't like that. My wife and I came for the food though because she is gluten free. When we saw the options for what was GF she was pumped because some of the items were things she hasn't been able to eat in years. The GF cheese curds and onion rings were great. However, last time I had a burger and I was underwhelmed. I hate saying that cause I think this place is great. Despite being a good boy and cleaning my plate, I walked away thinking meh...a little salt would have gone along way. My wife said the same thing about the steak skewer she had with her Asian noodle dish...which was a $12 add-on...that's a tough thing to realize when the flavor was meh. Honestly, the flavors only lacked on the meat. There is a lot to like on the other things. Wild Hare if you are reading this I want you to win so badly. This patrons humble opinion is some of the small details is the food need to tighten up and you will have people upgrading to the steak skewer a lot more and coming back regularly. I'm still a fan and will be returning. Just wanted to share. If you are considering going to the Wild Hare, I still recommend. There is plenty WH is doing well!

First, when you walk in, note that Prime is upstairs. The first level is a casual pizza pub. The space is modern but comfortable. Service was incredibly good. They have a nice list of cocktails and we enjoyed our Hemingway Daquiri and Vieux Carre cocktails. It's hard to find the latter in the Twin Cities, especially one well made. We started with the Bread, which is $10. It was good bread, and the accompanying Honey Butter was very good, but I still get really annoyed by this trend of having to pay for bread. We followed that up with the Bone Marrow appetizer. It was very good, and came with nice crispy Ciabatta toasts and an Apricot Jam that didn't have much Apricot flavor but the citric acidity was good for cutting the delicious greasiness of the marrow. My wife had the Scallops appetizer as an entree. With 5 decent sized scallops, it was perfect and she really liked them. She also ordered the Shrimp Scampi side dish ($23), which was the only miss of the night. The Shrimp were cooked perfectly, but were under-seasoned and there was no garlic flavor at all. Despite all the reviews on here implying that Prime has trouble getting meat temperatures right, I ordered the Petite Filet Mignon. It came at a perfect Medium Rare as ordered. It was also nicely seasoned and paired well with the very good Bleu Cheese Fondue add-on ($5). For dessert, we opted for the Whiskey Bread Pudding, even though they offered us a free Molten Lava Cake for our anniversary (the gave us a glass of sparkling wine to share instead). The Bread Pudding was good, but was a little dense and didn't really have any Whiskey notes. All in all, we had a very good meal and would definitely return.

Booked at Prime as most other choices were already full and we thought we'd give them a try. Arrived to find out they were backed up and our reservation may be at risk. Bar tender told us "people are just staying longer than we expect". We discovered why later. The place is small. The bar was staffed by three bartenders and they were still slow to take orders and deliver drinks. The bourbon and scotch list was small and a very mundane selection. Not a steak house level of options. If I'm going to spend $90 for a steak I expect casual, comfortable and not squeezed in tight with others. Seemed more mid-level than a high level steak house. We were seated and our drink order was taken and delivered. Then nothing. Finally came to take our order. Maybe 20 minutes into our evening. Then another very long wait until our appetizers finally came. And a longer wait for the meals themselves. There are no toppings for the steaks (I.e. crumbled blue cheese). Instead they bring out small metal cups of sauces. Not what I would expect. The tomahawk looked great. The asparagus was a very small order for the price and almost cold by the time it got to us. We finally wrapped the night after 3 hours. And I now see why reservations were being pushed. The delays were painful. Operationally they are having issues. This is NOT on the level of a Pittsburg Blue; which I would accept but their prices are even higher than Blue. The steaks were nice. But nothing any better than other options with better service. The 20% tip was already added to our bill. Our waitress was wonderful but this didn't warrant 20%. So we tried something new. Not a disaster, but we will not be going back when there are so many other better steakhouse options not that far away.
