We love junction 70. I feel like there isn't a lot of choices in cottage grove but junction 70 is definitely a go to for us! Everything we've eaten there has been tasty from the pizza to the bbq meats! They also have great drink specials. Our servers are always amazing and even when it's crowded it isn't too loud! In my opinion, this is some of the best bar food on that side of the city. The parking lot has ample space. The restaurant seems to always be busy but the service is good and speedy. Our group was looking forward to a nice lunch together, but the manager's attitude made us turnaround and take our business elsewhere. From the moment we arrived, the manager was noticeably rude and completely disrespectful. Rather than offering solutions, they were noticeably irritated that we were there at all. His tone was dismissive, unprofessional, and far from welcoming. We arrived the minute the establishment opened in hopes to get as many tables next to each other as possible. He continued to have an attitude until finally we said we would leave and take our business elsewhere. For a place that was listed as an option for hockey teams to eat at on the tournament email, they clearly should not be mentioned. I have gone into multiple restaurants with my kid's sports teams and never once was treated this way. Hospitality should be about making guests feel valued, and that simply didn't happen here. Our families live fairly local and have all been here before. We won't be returning, and I hope management takes steps to improve how guests--especially groups--are treated in the future. The pot pie was creamy crust was flaky but there wasn't any flavor. The monte cristo my friend stated she has had better it wasn't top tier. The spinach dip was chunky the flavors did not blend well! My bestie and I stopped in Monday evening for some late night eats. We were greeted right away when we walked in and seated quickly as well. Our server was prompt and attentive from beginning to end. He offered suggestions and often checked in on us. Excellent service. We both ordered a Kona on tap. Large tap beer selection. We decided to share the boneless wings and cheese curds. Wings were hot and tender. Next time, I'd request double dry rub. Cheese curds were hot and good. We liked the batter and the portion was huge. We also opted in for dessert... couldn't just pick one so we got three. Tiramisu, chocolate cake, and key lime pie. All SO good! I know where I'm coming when I want dessert. Restaurant is nice. Large bar in the middle with televisions surrounding the restaurant. They also have another section with tables. I enjoyed the variety of music playing as well.... I have never been to a restaurant where the manager has been so incredibly rude. He was abrupt and abrasive at us asking a simple question. When we told him we wouldn't be coming back if this was how he treats his customers, he said "Oh well" and turned to walk away. We got up and left. As we drove out of the parking lot he came out the back door and flipped us off. Wow. We used to love J70, but I can promise you we won't go back. Our waitress was excellent, the fault lies with the disrespectful manager who was too egotistical and didn't care in the least of we were happy or not. It's a pretty standard American food restaurant. I've been here several times and have always ordered something different; each time the food has been only okay. I can't say the food was bad but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. What pushed my rating to a 3 is the service has always been spotty. Sometimes a waitress doesn't show up to the table for ten minutes or the order has been wrong multiple times or they made comments about the food being bad (no joke). It has always been something. Other people have said they really like Junction 70, so we keep trying but so far I just don't get it. read more

The service was impeccable and my date was late and the server offered to keep our food under the warmers, which was super nice! Happy hour menu is limited, but at least they have one. These are some of the best we've had. The house made Berry Ketchup to dip it in was a wonderful accompaniment. It was really, really good. The Fish N Chips were nice and crispy made with Summit EPA Beer Batter with a delicious house made tartar sauce. Came with very good French fries and Cole slaw. The cole slaw was delicious too. Not too vinegary and not too creamy. Next was the Cracky Mac and it was really good too. Very cheesy with added bacon and the Andouille Sausage gave it a nice kick. The Turkey Bacon Club Sandwich was also a hit. Especially the whole grain bread it was on (so yummy). Everything was fresh and it is just a really good club sandwich. Ended with a piece of Key Lime Cheesecake. It was good. Could have put a little more whipped cream on it, lol, but it was good. Service was pretty good. We had to ask for a lot of things like napkins, etc., but we got everything we asked for with a smile. Very friendly staff and the food came out pretty quick and it was starting to get busy. I have tried this place a few times, hoping for something better and leaving disappointed. I will note, the service is always good, the food, not so much. First time I came here, I had a pasta dish and the pasta wasn't cooked. Sent it back and got a new one, still crunchy. Thought maybe just don't get pasta. Tried the chicken pot pie the next time. Not horrible, but terribly oversalted and a bit gooey. Could have been worse. Last try, got chicken wild rice soup. If you are looking for the creamy version, this isn't it. Also horribly salty. Definitely one of the better quality bar and grill type of places in the east metro. There are some tasty homemade sauces that are offered, which is always want you want at places like this. Very poor service, food and worst management! Waitress takes orders, then never comes back! When she finally returns, she starts bussing the table. When problems brought up, she runs to the manager, who never identified herself, with crocodile tears. The manager says I need to understand the waitress is busy. Well, she isn't busy doing a good job, so the manager overloads the staff with work, since I've been there with twice as many customers and never had a service problem. Management left without listening and it took upwards of 15 more minutes of waiting for guest check. Pretty bad when the place makes fast-food joints look good! Worst experience ever! read more

The menu is fairly extensive, there were a couple of items that honestly I was not expecting to see on the menu like a pot pie. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer and a couple of drinks. Ordered the Fish and Chips. Got a boat load of chips (fries) and three small pieces of fish. It was okay but should NOT be a "signature" offering on their menu. It was definitely nothing special. As much as I try to give this place the benefit of the doubt, they continue to disappoint! The fish was small and over battered and the 1.5 tablespoon sized cole slaw was rediculous. We are just in town for a few days and needed a good lunch. Junction 70 was a good choice. Found it on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. The place is big, new looking and clean. The bar area has a high ceiling with TVs on both sides and a big screen at the end. They also have a pull tab booth in one corner that did a steady business. The menu had a lot of good-looking choices. I had the turkey bacon club and my wife had the Cuban sandwich. The club was loaded with meat and the bread was toasted just right. I'd do that again. The Cuban was a bit smaller but my wife said it was good as well. She thought it could have used a bit more mustard but that was easily fixed using the bottle that was on the table. We both had the potato salad as our side dish. It was OK but a little bland. Our server did a great job and the prices were reasonable. They looked to have a ton of beers on tap but I only tried one. This is my go to place in Cottage Grove and I usually order the salmon burger. Last time I was in I ordered the salmon burger and potato salad. The potato salad was runny so I didn't order it this time. Their potato salad is one of the best potato salads I have tasted but the last time I don't know if, there is a new vendor making it or not. Last time I was in the salmon burger was dried out this time time it was a little salty. Service is always prompt and people are always smiling which makes me seem they enjoy working there.
