Walleye appetizers. Mmmm so tender moist and tasty

Great ambience! Great walleye fingers! Great cocktails, creatively crafted and lovely service! The drinks are strong, we each had just one and decided we needed to wait 5 hours before driving home. maybe it was excessive but had to be sure.

One of our favorite places to eat when we're shopping downtown Stillwater! I had the gnocchi and it was to die for! The cider with a wine float was also super good, something I wouldn't have guessed to try together on my own! The ambiance of the bar is great too! Our server was friendly and helped answer all our questions!

My friend and I stopped in for dinner after our AR Workshop event. Located so close we just walked over. My friend and I have never been here before. She loves French onion soup and said it was great. She also ordered the duck wontons and enjoyed it as well. I tried the pesto grilled cheese sandwich. It was not normally something I'd get, but it was pretty good. They don't skimp on the cheese that's for sure. The fries were some of my favorite fries. Appreciate that there's some NA options at the bar. I'd be back to try the nachos I hear great things about.

Very cute restaurant right in downtown Stillwater! It was decorated for the holiday season when we went and was very cozy inside. I ordered the prickly pickle martini and it was delicious! We also ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and they were very good. Our server was very sweet and brought our appetizers and drinks out promptly! Overall I would recommend!

Mad Capper Saloon, one of the best eateries / drinkeries in Stillwater (in my humble opinion). The wait team here are awesome and friendly. Our waitress (sorry forgot your name) was informative and laid back. They have a good selection of beers on tap. Tried the Olifant peanut butter beer and it was good. Foodwise you can't go wrong with their burgers and sandwiches. Today I got the smashed burger and it was tasty. The chicken and wild rice soup was top notch.

Lobster ravioli has good flavor. The ravioli was kinda crunchy. Weird. Walleye fingers was AMAZING. Ranchero was really salty.

We were looking for somewhere we hadn't tried before in Stillwater, so the Mad Capper it was! We each started with a cup of white chicken chili. Omg. Yum!!! It was happy hour when we were there, so we decided to share the Parmesan fries and the slider trio. There were a ton of fries for $4. They were thin like McDonald's fries and sprinkled with salt, pepper and shredded Parmesan. They came with a garlic aioli for dipping. They were good, but not my favorite ever. The sliders were great! There were three of them....i think a mushroom and Swiss, a cowboy and a jalapeno burger? The drinks and service were also great. We will definitely come back to try other things.

I've walked by the Mad Capper a bunch and always thought it was just a dive bar, but we stopped in for lunch and found a charming old timey saloon vibe. Chelsea was an excellent server and made some great suggestions about the menu. We enjoyed our view of main street from our window booth. The Bloody Mary's were good. The gnocchi with burrata was good and filling.

Overpriced. My biggest complaint is that the pasta was essentially soup. See the picture. Towards the end of the dish you couldn't even tell where your final bites of pasta were because they were fully immersed. The fries weren't bad, and the wings were crispy

This is my favorite Stillwater restaurant so far! The cocktails were amazing. We tried tons as we sat around this fun bar for an afternoon. We also tried the truffle fries, walleye fingers, and burrata crostini. All were fantastic. I look forward to coming back for a full meal!

We were walking down mainstreet in need of some lunch so we stopped here! It was easy to get a table for four. Our server was so pleasant and fun even on such a rainy day. This place really has a funky pub atmosphere - big bar in the middle but plenty of tables around. I didn't love our booth area - it was more like a couch with pillows and no good backrest but it fit the vibe of the restaurant. The food was good but nothing too special. I went with a cheeseburger with grilled onions. It was big enough that I only ate half - so worth the money. It was cooked great and was delicious. Was a little disappointed at how little fries we got, and they didn't impress me personally. Overall, I wouldn't be opposed to heading back in the future - but I'd rather go somewhere more unique in the area.

It was pretty loud indoors due to it being packed, so we kind of wished we could have grabbed a table outside; their patio area was adorable! Our server Karey was a superstar: friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu options. My mom said her eggs Benedict was the best she's had in quite some time. My sausage scrambler was loaded with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and green onions and it was very filling. My only gripe was when I looked at the receipt after we left and saw it cost $7.90 for two cups of coffee. And the coffee wasn't even in the realm of good, so they either need to up their coffee game or lower the price.

Heard great things about this restaurant so my girlfriend and I had to check it out. A bit busy (which is a good sign), but the 5 minute wait wasn't too long. Many good options to explore, but I just had to check out their country fried chicken. Main star was the gravy; it was delicious, seasoned well, and was filling. The hash browns were crispy and cooked well. The steak itself was good, a little dry personally. The crust could use more "crunch." Even when sauced, the underlying crust of country fried chicken should maintain some structural integrity rather than being soggy. Nevertheless, I was satisfied. Be sure to check this place out. Would love to try the other items offered on the menu.

I even won a signed sports auction item for my hubby a couple of years ago. They have a weekly auction out on by an external local company. On this particular outing, there was a host at the entrance and we had a party of 8. Sometimes there isn't one and it says to seat yourself. I told him we had 5 adults and 3 kiddos. When he sat us he only gave us the regular menus - so I had to grab my own kid menus myself at the host stand. Then he also said - you'll have to ask another table to borrow a chair - this combined table only has 7 chairs. I politely asked him if he would ask the other table as a courtesy which he did. I am gfree and they have a lot of options with a gluten free bun you can do. I usually order the BLT burger or Cali Burger. Sometimes with the gfree bun sometimes not. I always upgrade to the side salad as my side which is delish with French dressing (no croutons). The quality of the food is really really good. One of my fav burger places in the twin cities. Another cool thing about the Muddy Cow - 2 for 1 drinks so on this particular visit I ordered a Suncruiser (pink lemonade) and totally forgot I would get 2. We also love the duck machine...which is also a highlight! $1 per craw grab. Also lots of tvs to watch sports.

It wasn't all that busy, roughly three staff members in and out behind the bar inclusive of an employee who was working on a sangria mix? Pre made cocktail mix? Not sure but he was putting something together the majority of the time I was in. I digress. It wasn't just myself and guest who experienced the slow service, there was another group at the end of the bar that had to ask multiple times for their tab to multiple employees. On to the food: -I went with the Royale Smash Burger, which was quite tasty and honestly, the seasoning of the burger and the cheese stood so strong on their own I wish I didn't have the tomato and pickles in hindsight. Really great burger! -the side fries were solid and seasoned perfectly! -the onion rings we split was surprisingly the opposite. No real taste to the batter, came out not super hot, and really soggy. The exact opposite of the side fries and honestly, wish we'd skipped on them. Overall, the service kind of killed the experience, the burger was solid, and I'd skip the onion rings. There's some decent spots in Stillwater and this place always seems super busy this was the first chance I had to stop in and... not sure with the other options I'd jump to go back. Perhaps it was just an off service/off afternoon?
