    Mini tiered cake

I love Keys cafe and I'm loyal to the Robert Street location. However, I had to go to this location for the mini tiered cake as I don't believe any other location carries it. Talk about ADORABLE! I absolutely love how this Stillwater location has a parking lot. It's located in a strip mall. Easy peasy! Lots of staff behind the counter and ready to help, but I was browsing the dessert display for a bit before i decided on what I exactly wanted. I also ended up getting one of the cosmic brownie macarons. Restaurant was definitely busy, but staff were attentive and it was clean. Mini tiered cake and cosmic brownie were delicious and I'd definitely get both again.

What a great new addition to the Stillwater area...our very own Keys Cafe! It's family owned restaurant and very beloved in the twin cities. The menu is extensive and you can order breakfast at anytime. This specific Keys even has a bar which is unique from other Keys I've been to. The staff are friendly and the food comes out FAST! This evening I got the Loon Omelet which has this delicious gluten free mushroom sauce and it was delish. The rest of my party was happy with their meals as well.

Our second visit to the new Stillwater location since it's soft open. The full menu has a plethora of options to meet anyone's culinary preferences. Again, loved the decor (ship lap is gorgeous) and photos. Very well done! Had the Rachel, and hubby had the GREAT deal soup/sandwich with a salad AND cookie for $15.99. He had Chicken Salad, Chili and of course an oatmeal raisin cookie. I prefer the sugar cookie with lemon icing! So nice to be able to eat amazing comfort food and not feel guilty about spending too much! Our wait staff was super attentive and amazing. Definitely stop in! You can even catch a game on the large screens over the bar area. Yum!!

It was pretty loud indoors due to it being packed, so we kind of wished we could have grabbed a table outside; their patio area was adorable! Our server Karey was a superstar: friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu options. My mom said her eggs Benedict was the best she's had in quite some time. My sausage scrambler was loaded with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and green onions and it was very filling. My only gripe was when I looked at the receipt after we left and saw it cost $7.90 for two cups of coffee. And the coffee wasn't even in the realm of good, so they either need to up their coffee game or lower the price.

Heard great things about this restaurant so my girlfriend and I had to check it out. A bit busy (which is a good sign), but the 5 minute wait wasn't too long. Many good options to explore, but I just had to check out their country fried chicken. Main star was the gravy; it was delicious, seasoned well, and was filling. The hash browns were crispy and cooked well. The steak itself was good, a little dry personally. The crust could use more "crunch." Even when sauced, the underlying crust of country fried chicken should maintain some structural integrity rather than being soggy. Nevertheless, I was satisfied. Be sure to check this place out. Would love to try the other items offered on the menu.

Now the good: the food was absolutely incredible. Easily a 10/10. Our group of five had a variety of dishes; the Marma burger, Rosa fettuccine, pesto penne, walleye, and Bang Bang shrimp - and every single one was excellent. The whipped feta and Brussels sprouts were standouts and a must-order. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, and our service was fantastic; attentive, friendly, and seamless. That said, the 90-minute table limit made the experience feel rushed. With five people ordering drinks, appetizers, and entrées, it's just not realistic to have a relaxed dinner in that timeframe. We didn't even have time for dessert before being asked to wrap up. What made it more frustrating was that tables of four across from us were seated before we arrived and were still comfortably enjoying their meals while we were being rushed out. Bottom line: amazing food and great service, but if you're looking for a leisurely, relaxing dinner - especially with a group - this may not be the best fit. Go for the food, just be prepared for the pace.

However, the 1.5 hour limit for dinner feels rushed, so wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a place to socialize for any longer than that. Food: We enjoyed our dishes overall. The hoisin sauce was pretty strong, even by our standards, and overpowered the tuna. But overall, it was good.

My companion and I both ordered the quesadillas appetizer as our lunches. WOW. The best quesadillas I've ever had. Delicately crispy on the outside and stuffed with all the good things inside. The place is split into a bar area with tables and a smaller dining area. We opted for the dining section since we had little ones with us. There was one server covering our section, which had our table and another table. While she seemed to be keeping up with orders reasonably well, her friendliness left something to be desired. As the face of the restaurant, especially in a family-friendly section, a warmer attitude would've gone a long way. Food-wise, everything we ordered was solid. I had the deluxe patty melt with fries which was tasty, well-cooked, and a generous portion. Others at the table had walleye strips, nachos, mac and cheese, and another sandwich (can't remember the name). Across the board, everyone enjoyed their meals, and the portions were definitely generous for the price. Overall, Howard's delivered on food and portion size, but the service could use a little polish to make it a more welcoming experience. Would I come back? I'd likely consider, I just hope the service is better this time.
