Just picked up some soup and rolls and was so disappointed. I usually go to the Keys off University in St Paul and love it! This location is super close to my house so decided it should be really similar.,,,IT IS NOT! Sent my husband to get some chicken and wild rice soup and some caramel rolls. He got back and I was excited to eat lunch. He got me a bowl of soup and a caramel roll. The soup literally did not have a single piece of chicken in it. Not one. And the Carmel rolls are stale and hard. These were totally from Christmas Eve and just sold 2 days later. So gross. Hard as a rock and the Carmel is separating and gross. Wow, just 100% disappointment. Consistency between the locations would be great. This is not the location to visit! read more

Hudson is a bit lacking with breakfast spots. We were doing a girls day and my daughter wanted pancakes. Keys it is! When we arrived on mid-morning on a Saturday, it was a 25 minute wait. Not terrible. We were seated in a comfy booth and greeted warmly by our server. My sister ordered an omelet and a single pancake, daughter got a pancake and bacon kids meal, and I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs. Both the omelet and hash came with choice of a carby delight. It understandably took awhile for our food to arrive but when it did it was fresh and hot, with the exception of the hash. Note that the beef was shredded, long shards, not diced and tender pieces. It was tasty, if not a bit salty. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the homemade jam they served with the toast was yummy. The bacon with my kiddo's meal wasn't as crispy as she's used to, so she didn't end up finishing that. The omelet was liked but sis was surprised that it didn't come with potatoes, so she ordered a side (which were crisp and good). The star was clearly the pancakes, which were slightly crisp along the edges and had the perfect buttery sweetness. We paid up at the counter and it looked like they have an incredible little bakery section there, tempting us. We would stop in another time not to eat in, but to grab baked goodies to-go. read more

This is our go-to breakfast diner every time we visit Hudson/usually 3 times a year. I especially like the loon omelet and a side of fruit. My next favorite meal is loaded oatmeal. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Ample portions. Good coffee too. We sometimes pick up baked goods like pie, for later. I've only had breakfast and brunch although I'm sure lunch and dinner are very satisfying and tasty too. read more

Narrative: Stopped here for a filling breakfast while on our MEA road trip in Wisconsin. Food: My wife had their Country Omelette that was smothered in a biscuit and sausage gravy and I had their banana pecan pancakes. Their pancakes are huge, filling, and pretty cheap. I got two huge pancakes for only $11.99 and was plenty full with leftovers. My wife liked her omelette and had leftovers too. Aesthetic: Upscale small town diner with a large baked goods case filled with tasty treats and a takeout stand. Service: Service was quick and friendly. No complaints. Price: Great price point for the amount of food you get for what you pay for. This is one of those breakfast spots where you eat your fill and then skip lunch. Great food! And tons of gluten free options. I had GF French toast & a cheese bacon omelette & they were great. Also got a GF chocolate caramel cupcake to take home & it was one of the best GF cupcakes I've ever had. The hostesses at the counter were very friendly, but I will add that our server was not. I would still come back though! The food was very good. We did also notice price discrepancies on our ticket. The menu prices on Yelp list one price, the menu prices in the restaurant are about a dollar higher than those, & the prices on our ticket were yet another dollar or so higher than the ones written on the menus there. We made a special trip (20 miles) to the Hudson Keys Cafe this morning for breakfast (6/7/2025). It was early enough so it wasn't very busy yet when we got there. We've been going to various Keys for over 20 years. We've been to this one many times over the years; for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food has been very good most of the time. The service is only slow when they are really busy. Today, the waitress, Taylor came over to our table right away. She had a pleasant personality! Got us some coffee quickly and took our order when she came back. However, after she brought the food, she asked if there was anything else we needed, we said we would need more coffee (at $4.14/cup) we definitely wanted more than 1 cup. After that, as our waitress she didn't do well at all!!! She NEVER came back to our table to bring more coffee or ever ask how everything was, and not until much later when she came with the bill. We had to get our additional coffee 3 different times from other wait staff on their way past our table, while we were there. We also wanted a small take-out box and I had to ask for that at the counter after I paid the bill. THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE WE'VE EVER GOTTEN AT ANY KEYS CAFE!!! And, breakfast came to $37.52 for simply eggs, meat, toast and coffee, when we could get it. Neither breakfast today was very good. My husband's eggs were fried crispy, barely edible and my scrambled eggs were raggy, chopped up in small pieces and dry. WE WON'T BE GOING BACK TO THAT KEYS EVER AGAIN!! I usually go to Woodbury Keys for Sat. breakfast, but that's gonna change. I had some shopping in the area and realized I was never at this one. It's super busy like all the others so I sat at the counter. Well this area is a full bar which makes it even busier for the server. I got coffee and another server came out with heavy cream and I had it topped off with that since it was still thin with 3 creamers. What a difference, I had to have a second cup. I got my usual loon omelet which is vegetarian, not here. There's shredded turkey in it and I didn't even realize it. The sauce is even different, it's so much tastier here. I was talking to a woman sitting next to me and mentioned it was my birthday. Well my waitress, Ann mentioned that the couple next to them paid for my breakfast and that I get a free cupcake or cookie. Of course I got the house chocolate cupcake. Great food and large portions at a reasonable price - 5 stars! What a great place! I wish I had a Keys location close to my home. I'd definitely be a regular weekly customer. I still think my favorite Keys location is the first one - St. Paul on Raymond Avenue. And I tried one a few years ago in the north Twin Cities Metro and I was underwhelmed & disappointed. But the Hudson location is a big step above. I don't hand out many 5 star reviews. But this Keys deserves it. We could have had lunch or dinner. But we both went with breakfasts along with pastries for dessert. Wow - awesome! And the prices didn't break the bank either, very reasonable. Our service was first rate too. BTW, this location serves beer & wine. The décor is pretty nice too. Check out my photos. Our server screwed up my Mexican Omelet and forgot the chili & the salsa. Like a dork, I put my jelly on top, thinking it was salsa. Yuck! Our server was incredible. She more than made up for the mistake. She gave me a completely new omelet to take home and she comp'ed them. So I got both omelets for free. Everyone makes mistakes and she MORE than made up for it. Food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time but food was a best, mediocre and expensive. $17.99 for Coned Beef Hash? I came in and I've been to the Saint Paul location and it was decent. The Hudson location was nice! Small bar, a bakery, and restaurant. I got the crispy buffalo chicken wrap with a side of fruit. It was pretty good. The nice thing was the side of fruit. For once, it wasn't all melon and pineapple. It came with kiwi, red grapes, and strawberries! It was such a delightful surprise! I also came in looking for gingerbread cookies and I finally found them! Not the hard crunchy gingerbread cookies, but the soft, chewy gingerbread cookies! They were so good I bought a second one. I looked on their Hudson key's website and it didn't state any gingerbread cookies to order. I wonder if they don't make them to order just to buy individually. Not all keys cafes have the same baked goods. I had to go to the Woodbury location to find gingerbread cookies to order. I live in Hudson, so I'll definitely be back to dine again! read more

Terrible experience this past Friday. We waited 30 minutes before going to the cashier and asking if they knew we were at the table. Then we got coffee. No further service for 20 minutes, when a server finally came to our table to take our order, we then ordered our breakfast and asked for our coffee to be refilled. We were in the restaurant for 90 minutes before receiving our breakfast. We gave up on the coffee! Our breakfast was not good either, (hash browns were cold, vegetables in our omelet were not cooked) Keys used to be a great place for breakfast, not any more. There are many places to get a great breakfast in Hudson. We were all sorry that we chose Keys. We will not be returning to Keys. I gave you two stars only because you could tell the waitress cared, there was nothing else in this experience that would warrant any stars. read more

went there today for Thanksgiving Lunch. Horrible from start to finish. 1. no one came to our table for nearly 20 minutes. Ok finally got service and it was meh, but ok she got there 2. Ordered 2 Thanksgiving specials $26 a plate. plate quick came out in like 3 minutes. shredded turkey very dry scoop of mashed potatoes scoop of stuffing canned sweet potatoes with some in melted marshmallows thrown on top canned corn smothered in what looked like water with maybe some gravy mixed in. literally nearly clear the food had no flavor at all. just horrible. it was clearly from a can and box. I barely touched my plate and quickly pushed it away. the waitress never even asked me if my meal was ok or if I wanted a box. it was like she knew it sucked. when I went to pay the hostess did ask how everything was and I advised I was disappointed and could tell everything was from a can. she did not even question that she too knew. discussing and the biggest waist of $63 I have ever made read more

they are very busy. the food is usually pretty good, but the last time , 1st sunday in Jan, I felt the food was marginal that day. but that's not a normal thing. it could have been because it was so busy. my sandwich came dry so the bacon and egg did not stay put. If I remembered right, they must have put butter on the toast. Sunday the toast was dry for the sandwich. I can say that usually their food is good. I enjoy their peanut butter cheesecake and a pumpkin cheesecake very much. BUT , they don't make them all the time. I think pumpkin was just seasonal around Thanksgiving. This is the second Keys Cafe that we have been to, the other one was in St Paul and it's amazing that the service is absolutely terrible! The one in St Paul we sat at a table and it took 15 minutes before we were asked for anything. This one in Hudson, it has been 30 minutes and the servers look at us and do NOTHING! We thought multiple times that maybe we would get a server but they just walk right past! For being a family ran business, you think you would get better help! The owners of this place should be very disappointed because service like this is terrible! I will never go back to another Keys Cafe again! read more

My second one star It is very well deserved An hour for pancakes??? Keys is usually a high three or low four for me. One all the way today. Got there about one pm today. Fairly crowded but no wait for seating. Put in my order for pancakes and an apple juice right away. Waited and waited and waited. Felt like I was being ignored. It was 45 minutes in before one of the staff asked if I would like a refill and they walked past me constantly. About twenty minutes before my pancakes came out was told they are on their way shortly and it was completely dead at that point. Pancakes were nothing special. Is Log Cabin syrup out of the bottle really the best you can do? Did something I have never done before. Zero tip. Service was that bad. read more

25 minute wait on a Sunday is expected...20 minute wait to get coffee and water after seating is not. That with a 35 minute wait for food is outrageous. Service is awful. We had to fight to get our water refilled ever time and our waitress seemed inconvenienced with every request. Everything is overpriced, then up charged (you have to pay extra for cinnamon on your French toast) then they have a 3% processing fee for using a non cash payment, plus tip. They were serving door dash and to go orders that resulted in us waiting approximately 45 minutes to get our order. Again, the food was great and the service was attentive. Super bummed by my bakery choices made today (Halloween). I purchased 2 slices each of pumpkin bars, almond bars, and lemon bars. Both the pumpkin bars and almond bars were super dry (the pumpkin were actually hard) and to be honest almost inedible. The lemon bars were a tad bit better, at least moist. It's amazing how Keys can vary from location to location. There's something to be said for consistency, but Keys seems to want name recognition without ensuring quality, which is a bit sad. Especially when you're expecting a certain level of service and food. I've been here a few times in the past few years, visiting family in Wisconsin, and have to say that I prefer pretty much any of the Minnesota locations to this one. The service is usually flippant, the wait is long for tables and food, and there's always--ALWAYS--something weirdly off. Once it was stone cold cinnamon rolls (despite claims they just came out of the oven, another time eggs over easy instead of scrambled, another time regular french toast instead of cinnamon. I know these sound like little things, but it's little things that people ordered a specific way. read more
