Waffles
Luke G.

The waffles here are amazing. The batter is flavorful, and they're brown and crispy. The mold is perfect too! I wasn't a huge fan of my Denver omelet. I think the cheese was American, and there was ALOT of it. It was overwhelming. This might seem insignificant, but the toast was buttered perfectly, and was very good. Sometimes pre-buttered bread is just dabbed inconsistently... but this was perfect, lol. I have a pet peeve, and I hate waiting an extra long time for food (especially because I typically have young kids with me). It took an hour after we ordered to get food, and that's just too long for breakfast. Especially when 80% of what was ordered was waffles.

Side of Hash browns and side of bacon

Large portions and fairly price but meh for flavor We've driven by this place for years and decided to finally stop in for breakfast. The place is busy! It's one of the restaurants in Bayport so I understand why it's so popular. We ordered the pancakes with strawberries and whip cream, Denver omelette, cinnamon roll and a side of bacon and side of hash browns. The kitchen was backed up but we were told before we ordered so I was fine with the wait. Pancake - it was somewhat dry and a little crispy. There was no flavor to the pancake itself but once you added syrup or strawberries it was ok. While it was HUGE I would not order again. Cinnamon Roll - soft and delicious. Would highly recommend. Denver Omelette with hash browns - hash browns were done perfectly. Crispy and a little greasy. The omelette was a little runny for me but they really filled it with ham, onions and peppers. Over all the food was ok. For what's available in the immediate area it's worth checking out.

"Denver Mess" and "BTO Mesa" and side of French toast

Had a delicious breakfast on a Saturday morning! The place was busy but we ordered and received our food within 20-30 minutes. The "mess" was great and coffee was pretty average. Heard excellent things about the massive pancakes so would want to try those next time. Looking for a classic cafe/greasy breakfast? Here it is - yum!

Service is slow. People who work here are not interested in customers. Seem to be here to chat it up in the kitchen.

The senior dinners are a good bargain. I would give five stars if there were more options for non alcohol beers and wine.

Good bar food, nothing special, but it's a nice atmosphere with friendly service. You won't regret it if it's what you're in the mood for.

I got the Outlaw, but since I'm gluten- and dairy-free, I made a few modifications: I removed the cheese, added avocado, and got it on gluten-free bread. I haven't had a breakfast sandwich in over a year since becoming gluten- and dairy-free, and honestly... this was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. I was genuinely shocked by how delicious it was. The staff was so accommodating, and everything came out exactly how I wanted it. I was so happy after eating this sandwich that it genuinely put me in a great mood for the entire day. If you're looking for an incredible breakfast sandwich with great service and plenty of options for dietary modifications, The Good Egg is a must-try!

Couldn't eat without the wrapper holding what was supposed to be fried egg was actually scrambled. Cook was bitching about being too busy and was crabbing at the guy taking orders and the customers for things he thought he heard but actually heard wrong. There are so many better places to get an egg Sammy. Don't waste your time for a poorly executed soggy tasteless breakfast sandwich from this trailer. The aioli tasted like mayo with lemon juice not herby tasting at all. To top it off we both felt very queasy after eating our greasy food for the rest of the day and evening.

It was pretty loud indoors due to it being packed, so we kind of wished we could have grabbed a table outside; their patio area was adorable! Our server Karey was a superstar: friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu options. My mom said her eggs Benedict was the best she's had in quite some time. My sausage scrambler was loaded with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and green onions and it was very filling. My only gripe was when I looked at the receipt after we left and saw it cost $7.90 for two cups of coffee. And the coffee wasn't even in the realm of good, so they either need to up their coffee game or lower the price.

It was sweet enough on its own that it honestly didn't even need maple syrup- it felt like fall! I loved the crunch from the corn flakes it added such a great texture and made the dish stand out. I'm glad they didn't used sweetened corn flakes I think it would have been too sweet. The veggie omelette was also really good and gave the meal a nice balance between sweet and savory. Everything tasted fresh and filling without feeling too heavy. Loved how crispy the hash browns were fried to perfection! Atmosphere & Service: Loved the coffee, and the service kept moving even though the restaurant was really busy. Our food came out at a good pace, and the staff handled the crowd well. The coffee refill was a must after driving from Nashville overnight. Overall: Such a cute spot with that classic diner charm. Between the apple French toast, veggie omelette, good coffee, and friendly service, this was a great breakfast. Definitely a place I'd come back to! Id love to try other menu items for sure!

The exposed stone walls and that huge wall of whiskey bottles behind the bar give the place a cozy, speakeasy kind of feel. I had to try their take on an Old Fashioned, and it did not disappoint. It came loaded with a giant orange peel and topped with a couple thick strips of crispy bacon and a piece of what I'm pretty sure was a bacon-waffle garnish - such a fun, over-the-top touch that actually worked with the drink instead of feeling gimmicky. The bourbon itself was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, and the smoky bacon on top added a savory contrast that made it way more interesting than your typical Old Fashioned. The bartender clearly knew the menu well and was happy to chat through the whiskey selection, which made the whole experience feel personal rather than rushed. Great spot if you're looking for a laid-back bar with a serious cocktail program and a little bit of playful flair. Already looking forward to going back and working through the rest of their drink menu.

My companion and I both ordered the quesadillas appetizer as our lunches. WOW. The best quesadillas I've ever had. Delicately crispy on the outside and stuffed with all the good things inside. Not hot (aka spicy) at all, which is great for someone likes me who blows up when looking at a jalapeno sideways. Far more than I really needed to eat. The staff were all so kind and enthusiastic. We opted for the dining section since we had little ones with us. There was one server covering our section, which had our table and another table. While she seemed to be keeping up with orders reasonably well, her friendliness left something to be desired. As the face of the restaurant, especially in a family-friendly section, a warmer attitude would've gone a long way. Food-wise, everything we ordered was solid. I had the deluxe patty melt with fries which was tasty, well-cooked, and a generous portion. Others at the table had walleye strips, nachos, mac and cheese, and another sandwich (can't remember the name). Across the board, everyone enjoyed their meals, and the portions were definitely generous for the price. Overall, Howard's delivered on food and portion size, but the service could use a little polish to make it a more welcoming experience. Would I come back? I'd likely consider, I just hope the service is better this time.

We had the Ouzo shot since it's a traditional Greek shot! And with the ice it turns cloudy, I'm not sure why but it was yummy. I had the Greek Platter which is a little bit of all the entrees and it has me wanting to come back for more!! The fresh oysters were so yummy! Spendy but worth it!! Grilled cauliflower meze had fantastic flavor! My boyfriend ordered the Seafood Penne Mojo Verde, and I absolutely loved the flavor! It had layers of spice and complexity that made it really enjoyable. His only small critique was that he wished there had been a little more seafood in the dish. Personally, though, I thought the portion was reasonable, especially for a restaurant that doesn't specifically specialize in seafood. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. He helped us narrow down our entree choices because we wanted to try them all. This is just such a cool place with a lot of character. It really feels like a secret hideaway.
