Hands down the best BLT I've had in quite some time.
    Tiersa B.

I've always loved this place for a good bloody and breakfast. However my most recent visit is what prompted me to write a review. I had THE most perfect BLT. I chose pumpernickel rye for the bread. The toast, bacon and iceberg lettuce were perfectly crisp and the tomato was delicious. Also, the beer cheese soup....amazing!

The owners of Not Just A Cafe purchased the old Perro Creek Tavern. They are offering up top notch made from scratch food and I love every morsel of it. My mom is from the deep south and cooks biscuits better than anybody I know---the little gems they have perfected at this place would give her a run for her money. Shut my hole---sorry mama but it's the truth. We enjoyed the mess which was soft tender biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs with some onion and peppers mixed in on a bed of taters. Oh it just made our belly really happy on a Saturday morning. Prices are really reasonable also and the coffee was delicious. I think I will be returning here frequently and so glad it is just over the river and through the woods.

Monster omelet with wheat toast and hash browns

Me and my friend Masha went to not just a bar to have breakfast. They we're only serving lunch at the time but the bartender said we could order breakfast and she would go next door and pick it up for us. Masha ordered the monster omelette and she loved it. I ordered the meat lovers omelette and it was fantastic. I wanted to get the manhole cover pancake which is about 18 inches round, but Masha did not want to split that with me so we each had omelets. I would recommend this place for breakfast anytime.

Great Bloody Mary. Good breakfast. Super prices - less than a Perkins. Staff are kind, busy, and real. Appreciate the consistent local spot.

It was pretty loud indoors due to it being packed, so we kind of wished we could have grabbed a table outside; their patio area was adorable! Our server Karey was a superstar: friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu options. My mom said her eggs Benedict was the best she's had in quite some time. My sausage scrambler was loaded with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and green onions and it was very filling. My only gripe was when I looked at the receipt after we left and saw it cost $7.90 for two cups of coffee. And the coffee wasn't even in the realm of good, so they either need to up their coffee game or lower the price.

Heard great things about this restaurant so my girlfriend and I had to check it out. A bit busy (which is a good sign), but the 5 minute wait wasn't too long. Many good options to explore, but I just had to check out their country fried chicken. Main star was the gravy; it was delicious, seasoned well, and was filling. The hash browns were crispy and cooked well. The steak itself was good, a little dry personally. The crust could use more "crunch." Even when sauced, the underlying crust of country fried chicken should maintain some structural integrity rather than being soggy. Nevertheless, I was satisfied. Be sure to check this place out. Would love to try the other items offered on the menu.

My companion and I both ordered the quesadillas appetizer as our lunches. WOW. The best quesadillas I've ever had. Delicately crispy on the outside and stuffed with all the good things inside. Not hot (aka spicy) at all, which is great for someone likes me who blows up when looking at a jalapeno sideways. Far more than I really needed to eat. The staff were all so kind and enthusiastic. The place is split into a bar area with tables and a smaller dining area. We opted for the dining section since we had little ones with us. There was one server covering our section, which had our table and another table. While she seemed to be keeping up with orders reasonably well, her friendliness left something to be desired. As the face of the restaurant, especially in a family-friendly section, a warmer attitude would've gone a long way. Food-wise, everything we ordered was solid. I had the deluxe patty melt with fries which was tasty, well-cooked, and a generous portion. Others at the table had walleye strips, nachos, mac and cheese, and another sandwich (can't remember the name). Across the board, everyone enjoyed their meals, and the portions were definitely generous for the price. Overall, Howard's delivered on food and portion size, but the service could use a little polish to make it a more welcoming experience. Would I come back? I'd likely consider, I just hope the service is better this time.
