It was my first time visiting River Falls! We had a great meal at Kinni Café! I tried an egg scramble with feta cheese and an omelette. Both were delicious and filling with leftovers!. Awesome joint! We were seated immediately, waitress showed up shortly after got our drink order came back got our food order then boom food appeared! The classic breakfast hashbrowns (crispy how I like it) eggs bacon and a pancake, if ya mess that up you shouldn't be considered a Cafè! It was great! Hubs got the open face turkey sandwich and it looked delicious and filling - he agreed. I had a taste of his chicken dumpling soup and that was delicious. coffee was undrinkable. I spent ten years in the army. I have had good coffee and bad coffee. I have drank coffee served in tents that was better than this. I ordered a breakfast burrito. It came with a pickle oozing pickle juice all over my eggs, sausage, and tortilla. No where in the description on the menu were pickles mentioned for the breakfast items. I shall avoid this restaurant for the foreseeable future. The waitress was great. She couldn't understand why the kitchen had added pickle to my meal either. Went with a friend who is a vegetarian. They ordered a "vegetarian stir fry." It arrived with large pieces of chicken! Apparently they couldn't tell the difference between their own veg stir fry and the chicken stir fry. The waitress never came to see how things were, not even to refill the "endless" cup of coffee (charge: $2.35 for one cup). My friend felt sick and ultimately could not accept when the waitress finally came to offer an alternative salad, which they had already had, and anyway the restaurant ran out of lettuce. Over all I was very impressed with food, service and ambiance. It was Veterans Day and when handed the menu I was asked if I was a veteran (I am) and she pointed out the free menu items. This is not a franchise restaurant but just a local. She asked everyone. This is the first time I have been asked, other times I had to tell a franchised restaurant in order to be recognized. Pros: The server was friendly and good at her job. The prices are cheap and the servicing sizes big. Food was ok. Cons: The woman's bathroom is FILTHY. This wasn't one day's worth of grime. My daughter graduated from UWRF today and we decided to go to eat as a family since we traveled from all over to get there. When my husband got our bill they charged us $6.50 for bringing in cupcakes for the graduation party. Never in my 50 years of life have I been charged for something like this, no sign saying there would be a charge, they even took the cupcakes and put them in the cooler for us and never said a word about a charge for that. While the food here is delicious I will not being going back sadly. My family and I ate here last week and the next day we ended up in the hospital with my daughter because all three of us got the norovirus, which is caused by consuming food that was prepared by unwashed hands. I hadnt eaten anything but Kinni in a 24 hour period so I know for a fact I got it here. We were in and out of the hospital for a week. Never again. They need to tell their employees to wash their hands and not come in sick!!! read more

My daughter & I went here on Labor Day at 11:00. It wasn't very busy. We sat down, ordered coffee & juice, & placed our food order. Then we waited, and we waited, & waited. No one stopped by the table to tell us the status of our order, no one would even make eye contact. Finally a half hour into the wait, I asked where our food was. I was told it would be a little longer because they had some large parties to serve. Not a great excuse if you ask me. Don't have a restaurant if you can't serve your patrons. Five minutes later, the food server stopped by to tell us our order would be the next one out. We are talking about scrambled eggs here. At 11:50 I left $4 on the table for our drinks and we walked out. FIFTY minutes after we ordered. Pathetic & inexcusable. read more

Took a chance driving by and decided to stop. I am very glad I did and would drive to river falls just to eat here. The breakfast i got was delicious. Hashbrowns---fabulous---eggs---fabulous---pancake---fabulous....My husband got a huge philly cheesesteak sandwich and he loved it. They have some really scrumptious looking pies too. I noticed that hot turkey and hot beef sandwiches are on the menu--I tend to love these so I will be going back to try that in the near future. Charming place with tasty soups and pastries. A little on the spendy side for River Falls, but the staff is super friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. The best part, though, is the view. Despite being lined with restaurants, this is the only place aside from the Bowling alley that has a decent view, and THE only place with a view of the river. Excellent restaurant. Great service; waitresses are polite and knowledgeable of menu items. I mainly have breakfasts here and I love how quickly I get my food once I've ordered. The toast is amazingly thick. I usually get the breakfast skillets and i must say they are cooked to perfection. They don't skimp on meats or vegetables....and I get the breakfast potatos rather than hash browns and they are never over done our under done. There are no other restaurants around that serve such great toast....I love their toast. Coffee at many Cafes always tastes the same; not at Kinni Cafe. The coffee has a very good flavor. Prices here reflect the quality of their food; not over priced...not under priced. I continue to go to Kinni Cafe because of the excellent food and service. The best in town. read more

Met for brunch a couple months ago. thought I reviewed previously- guess not! Right off the bat we loved the location and their large parking lot. Service right away was pretty good, hostess was sweet and our waitress was decent. Breakfast selection was great! Their eggs Benedict was wonderful and served relatively quickly. Eggs were cooked nicely, not hard but not too gooey, and their crispy hash browns were yummy as well! Will be back. read more

Went for breakfast which they serve all day. Ordered a bacon and cheddar omelette with hash browns and a pancake. The hash browns were perfect. Fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. The omelette was of the thin, folded variety. The bacon was mixed into the eggs. My only complaint about it is that it was way over cooked. It made it very dry. Why do so many places over cook eggs??? The pancake was good and the syrup was better than most places. Coffee was passable. But then again I am a self proclaimed coffee snob.
