Had a large group dinner of 16 before a show at the ballroom. They were super accommodating of our last minute adds to the reservation and our table was ready to go when we arrived. The space is really large and I'd call it heightened casual. It was loud and busy as it was a Saturday night and there were many folks also headed to the show afterwards. Despite how busy it was, our server was prompt, friendly, accurate and split our checks up without batting an eye at the request. My drink was never empty before he checked in on if I needed another. The drink, beer wine, cocktail selection has something for everyone. The menu has a good mix of what you'd expect at an American grill - wings, burgers, pastas, and some really yummy rice bowls that I would recommend - I had the Cajun steak bite bowl - the spicy sauce served with it was spoon licking! Most seemed happy with their meal but I think the bowls and burgers had the best ratings. Oh and their honey mustard dressing was also delicious! I found Robert's after growing up in the west metro and going bowling at the Medina ballroom for year end hockey parties. I can't believe my family never ate there! I had my typical - cajun steak bites and Cajun Chicken Cavatappi. Both were great, though I don't like chipotle sauce as much as horseradish for the steak bites (which is what I have seen elsewhere). The pasta was good and using the cavatappi noodles was new to me. Kind of a fun/different texture. Overall a wonderful meal! I'd say this is one of the few decent restaurants heading west on 55 from the Twin Cities and absolutely worth stopping into. I'm thinking my next visit will be for dinner and a show - as there is the ballroom upstairs that hosts live music on the weekends! read more

Visited Robert's (located in the Medina Ballroom) for a coworkers birthday lunch. It was a Thursday afternoon with a group of 6 of us. The restaurant was rather slow and became moderately busy as time progressed. Mostly a much older crowd overall. The space has a nice decor but not overly fancy. Service was nice but seemed slow for the amount of patrons. Food was pretty good but nothing extra memorable. The entire group liked their food but there was no "wow" to any of it, which was somewhat upsetting given the prices. Had it been a little better or a little cheaper this would be a 4 star in my opinion. Would probably go back for a happy hour and try some apps but outside of that wouldn't recommend. read more

Mmmm....delicious! Went bowling then enjoyed a delicious dinner afterwards. We made a reservation to ensure we'd be able to get in. Staff all wore masks and were friendly. There was hand sanitizer at each table and several tables were closed to adhere to COVID guidelines. My SO and I enjoyed the pretzel sticks, shrimp tacos, and the chipotle chicken burrito. A total BOMB of a burrito came next. I promise there's a burrito under all that cheese;) Holy buckets this was phenomenal! I had no idea there was a restaurant inside of Medina Entertainment but I suppose it makes sense! The space is very big and great for groups. I had called ahead to make a reservation for a group of 10 and they were very nice and accommodating. We were seated immediately when we got there. We had brought a cake for a celebration and they kindly set it aside and even provided a cake knife and small plates for us at the end. No charge for cake cutting! I ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos. I was a little disappointed by the price point of about $20 for two tacos and rice. The tacos were sizable and decent. I enjoyed it a lot. I ordered a strawberry lemonade themed cocktail. I thought the cocktail prices were reasonable. Mine was $8.50. Definitely would come back with a group again! read more

We are regulars at Roberts. Interesting to read others reviews that are less than great. I have yet to have a bad meal here. The menu is consistent, the food looks and tastes great. You pay a little more here, but for us, a guaranteed great meal is worth it. We've gotten to know staff and have been treated with the utmost appreciation. I have been searching all over the west side of the Twin Cities for better bone-in wings and have yet to find them. So many flavor/run choices here and the wings are very good sized. We had a super sweet waitress serving us strawberry lemonade and club soda on the patio while we listened to live music. There was an acoustic duo: male and female. They were singing what I would call 70s slow rock hits, songs with West Virginia in them, you know? A few people were even dancing to the slightly faster songs. Was I at the right place? Could I really have been in the mystical Robert's that everyone else loves so much? Maybe it was an off day? Well I don't know exactly what happened ya'll but this place was terrible! Not a friendly person to be found. The person seating us, the waitress, and the poor food runner all looked like they were imprisoned here and hated their jobs. I get it, there were screaming and running children everywhere. Everything took 3 times longer than it should have from being seated to getting our orders taken to getting the food, etc. We had a couple small simple requests that he waitress said they would accommodate, but in fact everything came out wrong. The food was TERRIBLE. You'd honestly do better eating at Applebee's. Now if you enjoy Applebee's, then you might like this. And the prices!?? Almost $60 for 2 entrees and an app would be fine if the food matched. But this stuff was all just frozen food thawed out. Do not be tricked by the fancy words on the menu. read more

My wife and I took a trip to the Medina Target because it is a test store for cool new stuff from HQ and we were looking for a place to have a nice lunch around there. Smashburger was set to open in awhile, so we saw Robert's at the Medina Entertainment center and we decided, let's try it. The hostess was fantastic and seated us to a wonderful waitress. The place was huge with a large menu and a bowling alley and it looked like they had lots of music groups show up. I ordered the taco salad which was huge and good with a chicken breast and salad just dripping of the taco shell. It came with salsa and sour cream. My wife had a nice house salad and enjoyed it as well. The service was great and refilled our Diet Cokes whenever it was empty. Good people. read more

Ordered 2 Meatloaf Meals and 2 Cheesecakes w/ Raspberry Coulis for curbside pick-up on Saturday, June 5 for dinner with my mom. Upon arriving and calling with pick-up parking number, the server came out with one bag within approx. 5 minutes. When asked where the "cold" items were, the server indicated in the bag. I pulled out the first cheesecake (which did not look like cheesecake - two scoops of yellowish goop with whipping cream alongside and red syrup drizzle - maybe this is what they now call cheesecake) out of the warm bag - it was cool to the touch. However, when I pulled out the second cheesecake, it was warm to the touch and melty - sliding around inside of the package. The two cold deserts had been placed on top of hot meatloaf in the same bag. I asked the server to please replace the 2nd cheesecake and place it in a separate bag. While waiting, a 2nd car pulled up, the server brought out a plastic bag to my car and set it on the seat before delivering a paper bag similar to my initial bag to the other car. Unfortunately, I did not look in the plastic bag that the server set in my car. I placed the first cheesecake on top of the bag containing the replacement cheesecake and drove to my mother's home in Long Lake. Upon arrival I immediately put the desserts into her refrigerator. When it came time to serve dessert, I was horrified to see that the so-called replacement cheesecake looked like a glob of regurgitated slime - only the whipped cream had a somewhat appetizing appearance. The so-called replacement cheesecake was not smooth and creamy but had a mealy unappetizing texture, looked like someone had mashed it up; so I ended up tossing it out. This was so disappointing as I had taken my mother to Roberts several times for the same meal pre-COVID and always had a wonderful in-dining experience with delicious, appetizing and beautifully prepared main course and dessert. Robert's was a very pleasant and BIG surprise. The Ballroom Sliders appetizer was 4 small sliders that were amazing. Great cheese too. The fish & chips had crisp perfect fish and great fries. Hamburgers are perfectly cooked to order. The mashed potatoes have light skins and were very good. The Grilled Mahi Mahi and Shrimp was very good and served with asparagus and potatoes. Nicely seasoned. The best part was the dessert special bread pudding. We just returned from New Orleans and this rivaled any of the bread pudding that we ate at the finest restaurants there. This place is going to be busy due to the attached entertainment of concerts and bowling and also they have a lot of tv's that play the sporting events. A very diverse crowd from young to old. The bartenders are very attentive and friendly. The food is of average bar quality and fair prices. I would not drive special to go here but if you are going to a concert go early and have a bite to eat here and slam a few drinks. My husband and I were the grateful recipients of a kind couple next to us that paid our entire tab and left so when we went to pay the bartender said it has been taken care of the couple next to you wanted to do that and pay it forward --they knew we were celebrating our 28th year of marriage and going to see 38 special and just enjoyed our story. I grew up out here so I really wanted to like Robert's...but it was a Sunday night flop. My parents were staying at the hotel so five of us went to Robert's for a relaxing dinner. The GOOD: The server was super nice and he was excellent. The decor was nice. And the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The BAD: All of our food came out lukewarm. And I mean ALL of it: the steak, the walleye, and the burgers. The steak was overcooked (not medium)...but barely warm. They completely forgot my father's stir fry dinner and his food didn't arrive until all the rest of us were done eating. We didn't want to wait for him since our food was already borderline cold. Even my coffee was hardly warm, all three cups were the same. I don't know what the problem was because they weren't very busy. I don't think the problem was the server, excepting the coffee...seems like a back-of-the-house problem. I'd give them another chance if I'm in the area because all the other reviews seem to be good. Stopped by for light dinner after golf. Asked waitress about pretzel w/cheese appetizer. She said it came with 6 large warm pretzels. We decided to split that and each get a bowl of wild rice soup. App came and there were only 4 pretzels AND it costs $9.79 - really? What's the mark-up on that and why doesn't staff know the amount/size? As for the wild rice soup, I can't recommend it. I barely saw ANY wild rice but it had lots of carrot pieces plus a ton of crunchy celery (ugh! not good to have half-cooked celery in your soup). Next time I'll go back to the pulled pork sandwich which is quite tasty - and - order the tots! they are great. read more

My family attended the Easter brunch at Robert's on Sunday. It was AMAZING!! I would highly recommend. Everything was delicious and the set up was beautifully done. It has gone through some changes over the years but one thing that has stayed the same is the great staff and the great food. Very interesting menu. Everything I try I really like. After years of ordering the chicken wild rice soup and bragging about it to people who have dined with us, we were very disappointed with the taste this past weekend. Too creamy, not very much taste and hardly any rice. I made it myself two days later for out or town guests and all proclaimed it a much more tasteful soup. Will not order again.
