The waitress informed me that they got a new Chef, which unfortunately leads to the disappearance of a few of my favorite items from the menu, including the Buffalo Chicken flatbread and Chicken bacon ranch flatbread. I tried the stag burger this time around though, and it was quite delicious! I was not so impressed with the Margarita pizza that my wife shared with me though. Unfortunately this Friday evening out on the patio they had a DJ doing some music. The volume level was appropriate for dinner, but it got a bit too heavy with club vibes as dinner progressed, which surprisingly, being The Chainsmokers fan that I am, I did not find myself appreciating. We had a mixed experience overall. Our waiter was absolutely incredible-attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. He handled every issue professionally, and I would absolutely request him again. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. I ordered the watermelon salmon salad, but it arrived without the salmon, so they had to bring it out separately after the fact. The chicken dish was the standout of the meal, it was flavorful and cooked really well. The sea bass was just okay and didn't leave much of an impression. The steak was cooked well to the requested temperature, but it lacked seasoning and could have used a lot more flavor. Stopped at Lola's after a morning on the lake. We had a dog with us so were told we had to wait for a table in that section to open. We sat on the patio while we waited for about 30 minutes only for them to seat us at a table that had been available for almost that whole 30 minutes . They didn't seem to be short staffed as far as wait staff so we think maybe we were forgotten. On a higher note, we each got the turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries and we LOVED it. Honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. The focaccia bread was amazing. The cranberry aioli was a nice touch of sweetness as well. The fries were cooked perfectly. If you are planning on eating here I would strongly suggest placing reservations. We did not have reservations but were able to get on the list and waited about 30-40 minutes. There isn't much for seating while you are waiting but you can go grab a drink at the bar while you wait. We dined in during their Jingle Bar and the atmosphere was very festive for the Holiday Season. We would strongly suggest going during then if you are in town during the event just to experience the atmosphere. Our food was good and every bite was delicious. Our only complaint was we were seated relatively close to the live singer (they were very good) so we couldn't have a conversation without yelling, but we were also sitting in the "bar" side of the restaurant so I don't think it would have mattered. read more

I have been meaning to write a review for this place for quite some time... here is the thing, they can be very hit or miss. We went this past Monday and were pleasantly surprised with the food! The sausage and pepper flatbread is one of the better things I have ever had there. We have, in the past, had food that was not good .... we keep coming back because we love the location on the lake and for the most part the service is usually good! If the food was more consistent, I could see us coming here more regularly! It just so fun in the summer with the patio... just need consistency with the cost of the meal. I loveeeee that they dress the restaurant to the nines and how every table is filled to the brim. if you can still snag a reservation, you must. if you can't, there's always the option to stand and drink at the bar ‍ so many fun cocktails and the winter menu is rocking right now! our s: the best curds of all time -- these are seriously insane homemade focaccia -- this was decent, wish it came warmer! rigatoni lamb bolognese -- 5, would eat again... and AGAIN. sausage & roasted peppers flatbread -- this was just okay, it just had a lot going on and a little too much cheese. just was wishing it was flatter and more saucy. the experience is worth every penny. if they still have the Photo Booth, use it! we might've missed it this year and it's one of my favorite places to capture the memory. read more

Holiday decor is up until January 4th and if you're looking to live inside a Christmas movie for the night -- Lola's in Waconia is where the magic happens in this area. We came for dinner and ended up getting holiday vibes to last us until December 27th. The decorations alone are worth a visit -- giant "JOY" letters (perfect for a photo op), a Candyland corner with oversized marshmallows, sparkling lights everywhere, and even a surprise encounter with the Grinch! My kiddo was as amused as me by the thoughtful holiday decor. Now, on to the food -- incredible. Mildly upscale without being pretentious, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and delicious. You can feel that they take pride in presenting a fantastic meal alongside the festive atmosphere. Staff seemed attentive and our waters were always full. I had a fun experience at the Jingle Bar holiday pop up, very impressed by the extensive festive decor. Our server was very good at her job, attentive and spaced our courses perfectly. The food was absolutely excellent, I would recommend everything we had ordered: oysters, pistachio crusted baked Brie, mussels, Caesar salad with anchovies, seared scallops, and butterscotch budino for dessert. They have a 90 minute dine in limit at the Jingle Bar room, which is completely understandable. However, it seemed management communicated that our 90 minutes was up when he came to our table and proceeded to take the rest of the dessert and reached for my drink. If he would have simply verbally informed us that it had been 90 minutes and requested that we finish up and head out, I would have been more than happy to do so. Other than that, it would have been a 5 star experience. I would recommend dining here for the holiday season, and to perhaps start a timer on your phone to make sure you get to finish what you paid for! read more

Lola's is ready for the holiday season with their famous jingle bar set up. This year they have decorated the entire restaurant, all four dining rooms, in addition to the bar and the entryway. Today we tried their first ever Thanksgiving buffet, and it was excellent. They had lots of friendly help. Food was delicious. Service was terrific. We'll be back in a couple of weeks with friends for our annual holiday Happy hour. When we were leaving I chatted with the staff at the desk complementing on the decor. My wife and I went to Lolas Lakehouse and the whole experience was impressive from the moment we walked in. The place is decorated from top to bottom for Christmas and every room feels like a different holiday scene. It felt like stepping into a holiday movie and the atmosphere alone made the visit worth it. John was our server and he took great care of us. He checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was good and everything looked great. The only thing that was off was the shrimp because they were overcooked but everything else tasted really good. Overall my wife and I had a great visit. Several dining companions complained that while their shrimp and crab salads were tasty, there was wayyy too much lettuce, leaving the toppings sadly disproportioned. Someone at the table complained their Margherita pizza's crust wasn't fully baked. My mussels were a dud...tiny, shriveled bits, not plump, big and juicy. 3 of the mussels didn't even open. Total rip off. I didn't complain as I didn't want to ruin the vibe around the table. Won't be in any rush to go back. Overpriced and the food isn't any good anymore. This is a really cute place right on the lake! It's pretty big but fills up fast. They have a nice seafood steak menu that fits well with the location. I tried the hanger steak and lobster bisque. The steak comes with Gouda potatoes and asparagus. The gouda potatoes were just cheesy hashbrowns.... Ugh for a "nicer" restaurant I did not expect hash browns served with my steak dinner. Gouda potatoes written on the menu was really misleading and should be changed. I also don't understand why the dish was presented with the steak on top of the potatoes and asparagus. Was that suppose to look pretty and appetizing? Cause it looked funny and seemed like they were trying too hard. Thankfully the food itself was good. Nice size steak but a little overcooked past a medium rare. The chimichurri sauce was awful and was pure oil. The lobster bisque was really good too but lacked any lobster...there was a sprinkle of that "imitation" crab on top and it otherwise tasted mostly like cheese. My friends and I made a reservation for a girls lunch during the holiday season. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and we were excited to order some fun holiday drinks. One of our friends was running late (10min past our Rez) and the hostess said they wouldn't seat us until our entire party of 5 was there. This was frustrating considering the entryway was packed with people and we had a baby with us. When my friend came running in, the hostess slammed her fist on the counter and yelled "Bad, bad, bad -you're on the naughty list! You almost lost your reservation!" It was rude, my friend already felt bad. We are just a group of young moms trying to get together for lunch during a busy Christmas season! That just set a bad tone all together. We were shown to our table and right away our hostess told us we had a time limit of 90min. Honestly the drink menu was lame. I couldn't even find one seasonal drink that sounded good to me (and worth $16 or more!) so I stuck with beer. My friends ordered Christmas drinks and nobody even liked them. For food there was a limited menu, but we really enjoyed the lobster bisque and the smash burger. Overall, I've been to many Jingle Bar/Christmas type events and this one was just too strict for me. We could barely relax and catch up before they were putting our checks in front of us. The hostess really ruined our experience and the drinks were nothing we'd come back for. I've been wanting to go to Lola's lakehouse for Christmas for years and finally made it this year! They are very busy from the holiday season, I would recommend getting there as soon as they open (full party does need to be present to be seated) if you wanted to be seated on the bar side, which is the more festive side. The dining room side had white Christmas lights on the ceiling and a Christmas tree but was not nearly as festive. Otherwise, there will be a wait! They do have a 90 minute limit for dining because they're so busy. We got there around opening (full party present before 11:15) on the Saturday before Christmas and were able to get seated on the bar side! It did get a bit loud since it was quite busy, but we were all still able to hear each other just fine! Despite how busy it is, the staff was very kind and willing to answer all our questions!! We had a couple vegetarians, and a gluten free person in our group and they were able to accommodate that! Our server checked with the kitchen to make sure the prime rib sandwich could be made gluten free, and even ensured the chips that came with it were gluten free! The food was a tad pricey for what it was, although the restaurant is located by a lake so that's somewhat expected! I thought the bun on the portabella mushroom handheld was really nice texture wise, with the interior being soft but there being a slight crisp to the outer bun! The Gouda potatoes were good. I personally would skip the brie next time though. It wasn't bad by any means, but I felt like the pistachios didn't really add much to it, and the brie itself probably the would've been tastier if it were baked a bit longer to be meltier! With that being said, we enjoyed our food overall! We also enjoyed how the holiday drinks all had a festive twist, from rosemary to candy cane to cranberries! Drinks are "as expected" and priced for the location (higher). And the service....is.... Slow. 45 minutes before our order was taken. 45 minutes before the food arrived. 20 minutes before they checked in to see how our meal was. 25 more minutes before the dessert was delivered. Slow. Food was awful, overpriced, and everyone's food was cold. I had two mini tenderloin sliders that were cold, came with no chip or fries or anything, for $26. My husband had jambalaya that was cold and a small amount of rice that was also cold. He asked for a little more rice and when it finally came, it was the only thing hot of all of our meals. Our friends both had the walleye sandwich and they said it was ok but cold. We mentioned the food being cold but they didn't offer to do anything about it. Even the gin/tonic was bad. The place was decorated for Christmas and it made me feel in the spirit. We made sure to book a reservation ahead of time and were glad we did as it was packed. One thing that was a little odd is when we checked in for the reservation the hostess didn't explain much. She stated she'd check to make sure a table was open and when she came back went on to others instead. We asked her if she knew of anything and seemed more like we were a burden checking-in. Once sat at our table our server was great. She was managing a lot of tables that night, too, I was quite impressed! Drinks ordered: Cappuccino and Christmas festive menu of their Mule & Martini versions. Both were so delicious! The martini especially I do have to say! Food ordered: Appetizer of their steak and curds fondue. We still talk about it to this day! A must try... you'll be dreaming of it, too! Main dish was prime rib with mashed potatoes and asparagus... so yummy! Dessert: carrot cake... was a perfect mix of textures between crunchy and creamy. Visited Lola's Lakehouse with coworkers on a busy Wednesday evening. When we got there, they had live music playing and a beautiful lakeside view. Since work was paying for dinner, our group tried a lot of different dishes. We started with a dozen east coast oysters and the shrimp and scallop ceviche. I ordered the squid ink seafood pasta and asked to get the extra lobster tail on top. The waitress informed me that they ran out of lobster tails and only had the chopped lobster, which was fine. We finished dinner with cheesecake and the waffle dessert. All the dishes were very good and nice portion sizes. Unfortunately service was very slow and I got sick for 2 days after which is why I gave 3 stars. I'm not sure if it was the oysters or seafood pasta but the excessive bathroom trips wasn't the experience I was hoping for which is why I gave 3 stars. read more

The food on the seasonal menu was okay but was overcooked and under-seasoned. We ordered burgers, lobster and steak special and the pasta dish. I ordered one of the specials -- the pork quesadillas. The pork was good: tender and flavorful with just a tiny kick. The level of crunchiness of the flour tortilla was great. It came with a little cup of pico. I wish it had come with quite a bit more (I should have asked for me) and it should have come with sour cream. Eating the quesadillas without those two items really de-elevated the taste. It came with fresh tortilla chips which were seasoned perfectly, but again, with nothing to dip them in beyond the tiny cup of pico, it wasn't much fun to eat them. read more

My birthday reservation was made weeks in advance and was even noted on the reservation made. Yet, when we got there we were seated and that was that. Which is kinda disappointing when other restaurants have given me complementary desserts, drinks, and even a simple "happy birthday" to acknowledge the occasion. Our waiter let us step out on the patio for quick pictures which was really nice since we were hoping to get views of the lake. I got the flatbread pizza with goat cheese and leeks which was a good but a little less oil and it would of been perfect. The blackberry smash margarita was delicious.
