We enjoyed coming as regulars but after being turned away the last several times because the kitchen is backed up--we're done. Plenty of open tables. It isn't like the food is amazing. Just cheap. They stop seating at 11:30 on Sundays. You know you have people showing up on Sunday for breakfast, staff up. If 0 was a score it would be that. Third time I've attempted to take family here and the host/waitress, older lady, is extremely rude and it's not because of staffing. Won't be back again. Rule number 5... should be treat customers with kindness, especially when they never were rude to you. read more

Food was good. Biscuits and gravy could use a bit more flavor. Not sure how I feel about cutting up links. My son said his French Toast was average at best. Staff were supper friendly. The atmosphere is currently filled with seasonal Halloween decorations that take your eyes and mind on a trip that will put a smile on your face and stir some memories of Halloweens past. I'm told the Christmas decorations are quite extensive and will also be on display when the time comes. This alone has and will warm the hearts of many a customers and make the trip well worth your time. There's also lots of eye candy for those whom enjoy the outdoors with hunting lodge types of pictures of hunting dogs and hand carved and painted wild fowl and fish that have some blue ribbons attached to them is a much see. I have been a repeat customer now ever since my first visit to this exceptional now favorite breakfast spot. The owners have a passion for family and seniors and I have to say it's a local favorite with many regulars. The menu is very nice and the portions generous and the value is just right. I don't think I saw anything on the menu over ten dollars. I had a chance to chat with Cheryl whom is the kindest waitress that gets to know your order and moves like lightening and most times has your drink order before you even sit down. After going there a few times she has my order memorized and it's three of four variations and always offers some conversation that makes you laugh with some interesting scuttlebutt of the time. Then I have to say the eggs that Brian cooks are some of the best over easy eggs anywhere. The signature breakfast is the Egg-Cetera Omelet, this is one you would want to try if you have a hearty appetite as it is quite filling with all the ingredients nothing to add as it's all there. Lastly there is a display of the town of Waconia showing all the buildings and water tower, I don't know how many ceramic or hand crafted items they have but it's a lot and they are lite up and one has a good time just looking at that for quite some time. After going back to it a few times I now know there is a story to almost each and every piece. People from around town have donated personal items so it has become sort of a community effort to build this display. I really wanted to write this up for the Egg-Cetera Café and if you go there to check it out you will know why. So my secret is out...This is a great place to go, do yourself a favor and enjoy a breakfast or lunch while the decorations are on display. Enjoy! read more

This place is a joke. Last time we came here they said reservations only but let us have a table and said we were lucky to be able to eat here. The food was mediocre at best. We tried to call for reservations today 8 times and the phone was busy. We did not know if reservations were still needed or if that was just a policy during the height of covid. When my son went in to ask if we need a reservation the lady was extremely rude. We will never go here again and make sure to spread the word to others not to go here. I don't understand how a business can push away customers and be rude when they are not even busy. read more

The sign on the door say to remove your mask unless you have a legal requirement to wear one. That was just the start of the strangeness of this place! First we stood in the "wait to be seated" sign for about 5 minutes with the two servers looking at us every so often and then walking on by. Theresa's no greeting or even a "we'll be with you in a minute." When a lady in pink did come up she gave a gruff "do you have a reservation? Reservations are required or you have to wait for the hostess." You need reservations for a dive diner? First time I've ever experienced that. We get seated and the server takes our drink order right away. We get a carafe of coffee but it tastes like dirt water so didn't drink more than a couple sips. The food arrived pretty quickly. We see a couple more people come in and they get the same rude service at the door (ignored for a good while then demanded a reservation). The country fried steak is good and the Belgium waffle had a nice texture to it. The breakfast potatoes were almost burnt though. Then we see what I'm guessing is the regular crowd because the lady in pink is calling people by names to tables and half the place fills up. So now I get it. They have a regular crowd they rely on and we showed up right before them. They didn't need our business in fact we were impeding on them serving their regulars. For that reason I'll give them 2 stars and the food was okay or you would get one star. They don't have to worry about us coming again. I'd suggest anyone that isn't already a regular stay away too because they don't want or need you. And that hostess the lady told us about- we never did see her. Just the lady in pink. read more

Pretty decent breakfast and lunch place. Located in Waconia this place has all your breakfast staples. The Belgian waffles were good and I love the unique shape. Although it didnt offer any fruit toppings. It's just a plain waffle with butter and syrup. The hash browns and sausage were good. My boyfriend chose a Crepe with Chocolate sauce. He said it was okay but the texture was wrong. Definitely check it out if you want a simple but decent and affordable breakfast. read more

We are visiting town and decided to drop in for lunch. Waitress sat us down and we ordered coffee. She asked us if we wanted to order after she brought coffee. Having never been there before we asked for a minute. 15 minutes later she never cam back. She seated and served 4 other table and never check back with us. Two other employees saw we were sitting there when to order and never even asked if you were ready to order. I felt very disrespected because we weren't regulars. They were insanely accommodating with the whole menu having gluten-free options with NO up-charge!?! We have never had that happen. Every restaurant uses GF as an excuse to add $3-5 to the entree. There are limited breakfast joints to go to in Waconia. I liked this place cause it's only a couple minutes away from home and the food is alright. Service has always been polite but suuuuuuuuuuper sloooooooooooooooooooow. I'm not really sure if it's the servers or the cooks that makes everything so pokey but it can get really bad. We got used to a 1.5hr breakfast time whenever we stopped in. Sadly because of this we have started to venture out of town for better options. read more
