An interesting outing for Sunday convertible ride drive breakfast. Had ordered crepes & pancakes that tasted ok. Servers were friendly & accommodating since we had no Reservations. I was a bit concerned after reading past reviews. The signs coming in didn't give warm vibe .... after coming in, it was hard to focus on food so no pictures of that!

The atmosphere and old racist white folks. Not really sure what to make of it all if this will be a passing phase or longterm systemic problem. The pancakes were good but thirty dollars for an omelette breakfast with a side of small cakes and sausage seemed steep. And whats wrong about asking for no ice in my water? When it is delivered with a plastic straw already stuck in it, and yea, with ice. So difficult.

Proprietors Brian & Cheryl of Egg-Cetera Café 241 E Frontage Rd. Waconia MN 55387 Hours - Monday-Sunday 7am to 12:45 Take pride in welcoming you and your family into their restaurant. The atmosphere is currently filled with seasonal Halloween decorations that take your eyes and mind on a trip that will put a smile on your face and stir some memories of Halloweens past. I'm told the Christmas decorations are quite extensive and will also be on display when the time comes. This alone has and will warm the hearts of many a customers and make the trip well worth your time. There's also lots of eye candy for those whom enjoy the outdoors with hunting lodge types of pictures of hunting dogs and hand carved and painted wild fowl and fish that have some blue ribbons attached to them is a much see. I have been a repeat customer now ever since my first visit to this exceptional now favorite breakfast spot. The owners have a passion for family and seniors and I have to say it's a local favorite with many regulars. The menu is very nice and the portions generous and the value is just right. I don't think I saw anything on the menu over ten dollars. I had a chance to chat with Cheryl whom is the kindest waitress that gets to know your order and moves like lightening and most times has your drink order before you even sit down. After going there a few times she has my order memorized and it's three of four variations and always offers some conversation that makes you laugh with some interesting scuttlebutt of the time. Then I have to say the eggs that Brian cooks are some of the best over easy eggs anywhere. The signature breakfast is the Egg-Cetera Omelet, this is one you would want to try if you have a hearty appetite as it is quite filling with all the ingredients nothing to add as it's all there. Lastly there is a display of the town of Waconia showing all the buildings and water tower, I don't know how many ceramic or hand crafted items they have but it's a lot and they are lite up and one has a good time just looking at that for quite some time. After going back to it a few times I now know there is a story to almost each and every piece. People from around town have donated personal items so it has become sort of a community effort to build this display. I really wanted to write this up for the Egg-Cetera Café and if you go there to check it out you will know why. So my secret is out...This is a great place to go, do yourself a favor and enjoy a breakfast or lunch while the decorations are on display. Enjoy!

My gf and I enjoyed a light breakfast this morning at this little neat cafe. The site from the outside doesn't look like much. However upon entry it looks simply home comfort on the inside. My gf and I had crepes, sausage and other breakfast combos and were impressed by how tastefully prepared our dishes were. If you come through Waconia check this place put off Frontage road.

If you are planning on eating here I would strongly suggest placing reservations. We did not have…read morereservations but were able to get on the list and waited about 30-40 minutes. There isn't much for seating while you are waiting but you can go grab a drink at the bar while you wait. We dined in during their Jingle Bar and the atmosphere was very festive for the Holiday Season. We would strongly suggest going during then if you are in town during the event just to experience the atmosphere. Our food was good and every bite was delicious. Our only complaint was we were seated relatively close to the live singer (they were very good) so we couldn't have a conversation without yelling, but we were also sitting in the "bar" side of the restaurant so I don't think it would have mattered.

We went this past Monday and were pleasantly surprised with the food! The sausage and pepper flatbread is one of the better things I have ever had there. We have, in the past, had food that was not good .... we keep coming back because we love the location on the lake and for the most part the service is usually good! If the food was more consistent, I could see us coming here more regularly! It just so fun in the summer with the patio... just need consistency with the cost of the meal. This past visit was a treat though.

Thankfully we arrived right in front of a rush and only waited 5 minutes before being escorted upstairs to a fairly isolated table. The ambience is old-school-diner and the service is back-to-basics. No overwhelming friendliness or chatty interchanges. They all just keep moving, working and trying to keep up. It's not a big restaurant, even with the upstairs seating -- maybe 25-30 patrons per level and I counted at least 9 employees. That's a high ratio. That said, service was slow. We waited longer than I would have expected to have our order taken (10+ minutes), but that's really my only gripe. It's not enough to lose a star though -- and like I said, it's all worth the wait. The food is incredible. That's why you are here. The serving sizes are generous. The food comes out hot. And the flavors are excellent. I enjoyed a corned beef and hash -- substituting the country potatoes for crispy hashbrowns, topped with scrambled eggs and my date enjoyed a kitchen sink omelette with hashbrowns. We both LOVED our choices and I'll just highlight -- the corned beef is slow cooked (8 hours) and chunky. It's incredible. We talked about how we needed to bring our family and friends to the little gem of a diner.

My MIL is in a wheelchair so it was wonderful that they had a single accessible bathroom. We ordered the blueberry pancakes. The menu said $14. We didn't realize it while there, we were charged $16 with extra for blueberries so we missed something on the menu apparently. That price is outrageous for pancakes. We had the strawberry cream cheese French toast. Great flavor. It came fairly cold unfortunately. Would totally get again though. We also had the Smokin Hash w/ Brisket. Big portion. Flavorful. Lots of smoke in it. Not much queso at all, if any. Next door the same owner also owns a cool looking BBQ joint that we can't wait to try. I realize this is only a 3 star, but the menu is fabulous, location is great and service was wonderful.

I enjoyed the clean aesthetic they did to the building while keeping the refurbished seating from before. The staff was all kind of running around and didn't seem to communicate well, often food was sitting in the window and as a prior server, all I could think was "it's going to die". It seems they would benefit from having a FOH lead or hostess who also did bussing and other support staff duties. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito w/ brisket and the House Breakfast w/ brisket. The burrito lacked flavor and essentially was a giant burrito loaded with potatoes, a lil' egg and some chopped up brisket. For the house breakfast, the hashbrowns were crispy with perfectly basted eggs. Unfortunately, the brisket was some of the worst we've had and that was such a letdown since they are affiliated with Buddy Boy, and we've had amazing food from them in the past. The syrup for the pancake was the star of the meal. It was like a chocolate- caramel syrup that I could have dreamed up about several dishes for.
