We came in for lunch. Ike's. Has the feel of an old time steak house. Warm and welcoming. The bartender was really friendly and helpful. Once we placed out order the food came our quickly and was delicious! Looking forward to returning.

Visited Ike's on September 26 and really enjoyed the experience! I tried the Cajun Cavatappi and the Roadhouse Steak Burger -- both flavorful and satisfying. The burger was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the pasta had just the right amount of Cajun kick without being overpowering. The service was great -- friendly, attentive, and genuine. Ike's really retains that old-country charm with its service and décor; it's the kind of place that takes you back in time in the best way possible. You can feel the tradition and warmth the moment you walk in. There's also plenty of parking, which makes the visit even easier. The onion bun on the burger -- it was a bit of an overkill and overpowered the rest of the flavors. Still, everything else hit the mark beautifully. Overall, Ike's delivers hearty comfort food, classic hospitality, and timeless character -- a great spot that feels like a slice of the past done right.

We had an early dinner during happy hour at Ike's and their HH menu is extensive! We were seated in the bar room area which is very close quarters, but I never felt uncomfortable. It has more of a dark and cozy vibe. We had a variety of happy hour snacks and the Guacamole was by far the best item. The wings had a good coating of sauce and a significant side of ranch. I wouldn't recommend the spinach artichoke dip, but we did have to sub the bread for tortilla chips as a GF option. Overall, for the price of HH I was impressed with the food and the portion.

The perfect little spot for a nightcap and dessert! We stopped here after dinner down the road in Excelsior and I'm so glad we found this little gem. Best part - they have Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream! Be warned, the portions are LARGE, we definitely could've shared just one of these. GRASSHOPPER MARTINI: Literally a boozey Shamrock Shake! It was so delicious and creamy without being too minty. CHOCOLATE CAKE: The largest slice I've ever seen. Moist and fudgey, reminded me of Portillos. ICE CREAM: The day's flavor was coffee oreo caramel, and it was the perfect blend of flavors. This was my favorite dessert! The old supper club vibe and great, friendly service was a plus too!

Everytime going to Ike's has been great. The food is always flavorful, the drinks are not watered down, the staff inside are lively and will hold a conversation with you, and the vibe inside is a good mix of working class and reserved. Worth stopping by for a bite if you're in the mood for old school American food.

Ike's is always consistent and that is something I really appreciate. My favorite things are the ribs, Brussels, cheese curds (with jalapeño jam!), Reuben and carrot cake. The drinks are always good. The prices are good and the service is excellent. The patio in the summer is so nice and the overall feel of the restaurant is cozy and warm. It's a go-to spot for us when we want no-frills deliciousness. Also shout out to Floyd, our recent server whose impeccable service caused me to write this review.

Live near here but has only visited once and now I'm feeling like I've missed out on a great happy hour spot. We swung in Friday at 4PM and it was busy but thankfully not too busy to grab a table for 3 without a reservation. The service was very friendly and prompt. Love the dark yet vibrant old school steakhouse vibe of the place. Their happy hour menu is extensive. There are 5ish flatbreads and a dozen other options from Guacamole to cheese curds to wings and pickle Fries. We tried the Brussels sports (really good flavor but needed to be cooked a little longer), deviled eggs (loved these but note that they're spicy!), and our new favorite spinach and artichoke dip with their chips. This is the best S&A dip I've ever had. So delicious! And I recommend getting with the chips as opposed to the flatbread. My other highlight was my martini which came with a backup glass so really it was 2 for 1!

Local bar with a good happy hour. Quaint bar setup but bartenders are responsive and personable. Enjoyed the flatbread during happy hour for $9 and it was hot, hearty and the base (dough) reminded me of lavash with its thin crispiness. I recommend if you're going to enjoy happy hour, get there soon. Their bar really isn't very big so snag a spot while you can. Or if you'll be sitting in the dining- reservation would probably be best as well.

Thin cut extremely charred shoe leather ribeye steak !
    Jacque B.

I'm not happy with my experience at Ike's. To put it plainly the food was not good. Everything lacked seasoning and most especially salt. I was most offended at the ribeye steak plate. It was 46$ but it was a thin cut steak. A clear rip off. It was FLAVORLESS. All I tasted was charr. I broke down and ordered the Bernaise sauce but the waiter forgot it and she took forever to make the rounds. When it did come my steak was ice cold. So upsetting but the waitress was obviously not able to keep up for some reason and never checked back in to ask if I even like the food. It was so bad. Steak isn't meant to be slathered in steak sauce when the price is 46$. I ordered mid well and if I had known I was getting a thin cut ribeye I would have done mid rare. It was like eating shoe leather. I couldn't send it back because our waiter was slower than molasses. There was not even 5 tables occupied this 4th of July. Busy wasn't a factor in this case she just wasn't good. Nice but not efficient at all. Our table spent 350$ before tip and I can say it was the worst money spent. The kitchen needs to step op their game and the chef needs to reevaluate his design and execution. Both were severely lacking. I do not need to season every single piece of my food. Please Ike's do better for the ones who do have taste buds. You have so much potential.

    Wednesday afternoon at Ike's!

We arrived straight from the airport with our carry-on luggage, and the staff kindly took our suitcases and stored them at the coat check while we ate. It was a thoughtful touch that made the experience much more comfortable. The restaurant has a classic steakhouse vibe that's upscale without feeling stuffy or pretentious. It struck a nice balance between polished and comfortable. We were seated promptly, and our server was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I can't remember her name, but she did an excellent job throughout the meal. At her recommendation, we started with the Summer Heirloom Tomato Salad ($16.95), made with heirloom tomatoes, arugula, goat cheese, pesto, and balsamic vinaigrette. It was fresh, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. For my entrée, I asked for another recommendation and ordered the Blackened New York Strip Steak Sandwich ($28.95), served with arugula, tomatoes, white cheddar, ancho mayo, and a side of fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, the sandwich was packed with flavor, and the fries were crisp and delicious. It was exactly what I was in the mood for after a day of travel. My colleague ordered one of the fish entrées and thoroughly enjoyed it as well, so we both left impressed with our meals. The prices were fair for the quality of the food, portions, and service. From the attentive staff to the excellent meal, everything exceeded expectations. It was a great first dinner in Minneapolis, and I'd happily return the next time I'm in the area. 5 stars

The char on the lamb chops was perfect, crusty and packed with so much flavor the mint chimichurri was unnecessary. I ended up bringing one chop and two bones home because I do not gnaw bones in public! :D The chops were cooked to a nice mid-rare and they were very juicy; definitely made me mumble OMG at my first bite. For dessert qRC was brought a birthday brownie slice with whipped cream and a candle. I had the Door County Cherry pie and the house-made pie crust finished with sugar crystals was so satisfying. I'm mad I don't recall his name!

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a historic building that was once a luxury hotel and is now a co-op. One thing we didn't know beforehand is that P.S. Steak has two distinct dining spaces. We were seated in the lounge, which is bright, stylish, and elegant, while the steakhouse dining room has a darker, more intimate, classic steakhouse atmosphere. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was professional and knowledgeable, making the experience feel polished and welcoming. For drinks, we ordered the Southern Hemisphere (a refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail with the perfect balance of tart and sweet) and the 1929 Sour. From the Restaurant Week menu, we started with the dry-aged meatballs, which were surprisingly light and flavorful. For the entrée, we had the smoked salmon risotto. Unfortunately, it wasn't our favorite--it felt a bit bland and lacked the depth of flavor we were expecting. We also ordered a few items from the regular menu, and these ended up being the highlights of the meal. The lobster roll was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The asparagus was another standout, cooked to the perfect balance of tender and crisp with a beautiful char that added great flavor. To finish, we shared the hot fudge sundae, which was rich, indulgent, and the perfect ending to dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience, especially the impeccable service, elegant ambiance, and standout dishes from the regular menu. It's extremely noisy, and the tables are very close together. We had to listen to a little boy watching cartoons on his phone the entire evening, which was NOT what I was planning for our 25th anniversary dinner. Touching on our anniversary, I called and made a reservation 3 weeks prior and begged the host on the phone to put us in a quiet corner, not in the middle of the room. I had very special plans and was going to present my wife with a beautiful new diamond ring to replace the one she got 15 years ago on our 10th. When we arrived, we were placed at a very small table right smack in the middle of the room!!! The most uncomfortable thing is finding a place to park. If you can't find a spot in the lot, tracking down a street spot that isn't only 1 hour can be a challenge or a bit of a walk. We started with cocktails and Bread is Life appetizer (5/5). Bread is indeed life. We needed two baguettes to eat the three butters/sauces. The whipped ricotta and honey was my favorite, but the chimichurri was a close second. For entrees we split the Beet and Watermelon King Salmon Salad (3/5), A Fat Burger (5/5), Chilled Lobster Roll (4/5), and the Spicy Lobster Mac and Cheese (5/5). The salad was good, but the salmon didn't have enough seasoning for me. It's also more of a traditional watermelon salad vs lettuce salad. The lobster roll was good, but of course mostly bread. It was a hardy sandwich and filled more than other restaurants. The burger was in fact fat, cheesy and juicy. The sandwiches come with hand cut fries (5/5) and an aioli. While the Mac and cheese says it's spicy, it's more of a Minnesota spice. It's a shareable portion, but no more than 3 people if they have other food. For dessert we ordered the Mud Moon Pie (4/5). When they say it's served with a knife they mean it. The portion size is huge! Like 6-12 people could eat on it. We ended up sharing with the table next to us. We were warned it was shareable, but I wish there would have been a smaller portion option to select. We felt so wasteful not being able to eat even half of it. We loved our server. We never felt rushed, our water glasses were never empty and she split the bill with our individual dishes and then split the shared items (I love when they do this vs giving us one bill). While the prices are a little high, the portion sizes and quality of food make it worth it.

Listen to your waitstaff, they know what they are talking about and talked us out of a couple dishes and into better ones. Overall, it wasn't inexpensive but it was well worth it for those who appreciate unique and flavorful meals. We would definitely eat here again.

TLDR; Porzana is amazing, go ready to eat. Food and service are spectacular! You MUST get the…read moreAsparagus, sweet corn agnolotto, and the entrana. Skip the olive oil cake and vanilla sorbet. Porzana was an absolutely AMAZING experience! The food was delicious and the service was incredible as well. More than that, the vibes were great! This spot is truly the whole package. The restaurant was much bigger than I expected which was also nice. It was too hot when we were there, but they also had a cute patio on the side of the restaurant. We got a TON of dishes as we were treating ourselves and here is what we thought of each... Empanadas - Perfect size, crispy dough, and FULL of meat. The sauce, mango salsa, and the aoli on the side were the perfect editions. Sweet Corn Agnolotto - Literally NO notes. There is a reason why this is all over theirs and visitors social media. It is fresh and bright, yet has an amazing depth of flavor. Asparagus - These were perfectly charred and bright. They didn't feel heavy at all which was awesome. Entrana - The main event and so dang good. Perfectly cooked, tender, and the flavor was excellent. We love steak and honestly do a pretty good job cooking it ourselves, but this is somewhere we would go for a good steak. This was my top meat choice. The chimichurri and Lla Jua sauces were a perfect pairing with this as well. Ribeye - This ribeye was also delicious! It was tender and juicy, and had good flavor. My fiance preffered this to the Entrana though we both loved them both. Papas Aplastadas - These were fried potatoes with bacon, cheese, and beurre blanc. They were good, but not great. Honestly, I think we just loved the other dishes so much that these didn't even get a fair chance. Though these had the most ingredients, I would say they were the least flavorful to me. Olive Oil Cake - Moist, but still dense and didn't really impress us much. I wished instead of the marscapone there was something lighter on top as it all felt heavy after a big meal. Sorbet - skip the vanilla. The honey lavendar was an absolute show stopper. Cocktails were also top teir and they had mocktail options as well!
