Philly cheese steak sandwich and Caesar side salad
Shannon G.

They like to close early so we haven't been able to make it here until now but the service was really good and the patio is nice. Philly cheese steak sandwich and Caesar side salad. The salad was huge! Smash burger was good too and fries are amazingggg Also had a Bloody Mary but it tasted like watered down vodka with tomato, but had a nice garnish with a pretzel. Margarita was really good! Happy hour till 5:30 and events every couple days like music bingo.

Unfortunately, this place falls flat. It's usually empty and the energy is just... boring. We are regulars at a few nearby places and were hoping this would be a nice addition to our rotation. Sadly, it seems as though no one knows about this place because they do zero advertising -- even the countless apartments and businesses nearby have no concept this place exists. It seems they thought because their Prior Lake location is popular, that they would command such demand in Eden Prairie with zero advertising or brand presence. Recently stopped in and the bartender mentioned they were not a bartender. A couple regulars at the bar but 95% empty on a Saturday night. There really isn't an identity to this place. It's not that it is "bad" I just wouldn't go out of my way to stop here.

This place opened a few months ago in what had been a longstanding, well known and goto place for a quality meal experience. It had been a higher-end restaurant. TJ Hooligan's opened its second location in this space as an American bar /restaurant experience. They simply threw up some beer/alcohol banners and posters on the walls and reopened the doors. Ambiance is so-so as it has high end fans and lights over an austere set of high/low top tables. The food is decent bar food and they have maintained the wood-fired pizza grill. Unfortunately the management felt like "open the doors and they will come". Generally that has not worked. I've visited twice, and the first time I never went in as it was empty and I figured it hadn't opened yet. They are located in the midst of office spaces and many apartment buildings within 1/2 mile and they simply won't advertise-it is the oddest thing. A few fliers delivered to the buildings and apartments in the area, along with a plan & concept of "who they are" would be huge for this place to help them get established. Friendly staff and bartenders, but the "why we are here" message hasn't yet resonated with me, or sadly the community.

Smothered chicken sandwich

First time trying this since I had a coupon, the service was good but the food is a little pricey as I was expecting the portions to be bigger. I got a chicken sandwich and my friend got pasta, both were lacking a bit of flavor but they were alright. I liked the fried though they were crispy and soft on the inside.

We came in to check out the new restaurant and was not disappointed. The decor is simple and uncluttered. There are many TVs with sports on. Our food came out on good time and was delicious! The fries came in a cute basket, a great presentation. The only thing we weren't crazy about was that our beers were served in a Mason jar. Our server Leah was accommodating and got my husband an empty water glass to pour his beer into. We will be sure to go back.

Understaffed and the food was just ok. I had the patty melt and had to add salt to give it flavor. Unimpressive, as I had high hopes!

I was really bummed to learn that the fried onion on the burger & some of their other fried foods are done so with beef tallow and therefore aren't vegetarian/vegan friendly. This is the primary reason I'm giving it a 3/5 instead of 5/5. I am extremely grateful to our wonderful waitress for bringing this to my attention ahead of time and helping guide me to which menu items were still vegetarian friendly but found my options to be a lot more limited. We dined in at Tavern 4&5 with a large group to celebrate a birthday. Reservations were made in advance and our table got seated quickly upon arrival. Similar to any tavern, the dining in experience is laid back and casual. You do not need to be dressed up by any measure to eat here. The menu is robust and I had a difficult time choosing as every item sounded great. A few members in our party had been here before and recommended the Thai chicken lettuce wraps off the appetizer menu and they did not disappoint. It was very fresh and I could tell it wasn't sitting under a heat lamp. For my main entree, I got the Chicken Yum Yum which is a bowl with fried chicken, ginger soy sauce, coconut fried rice, mushrooms, edamame, egg, green onions, sesame seeds and yum yum sauce. It was nice to be able to find an Oriental meal at a tavern. Our service was excellent for having such a large party and I felt as if the prices were reasonable. Looking ahead, I can't wait to return as there's so many other great items that I hope to try including the sweet chili cauliflower appetizer, tator tots and harvest apple salad. The staff has also been wonderful. They are knowledgeable and friendly and really make a difference. Atmosphere can change from time to time. As busy restaurants nights are always going to have that buzz but in a good way. As the busy night calms into late evening there is this different nice smooth feeling that comes over the place. Lastly this place introduced me to a new drink. The Carajillo. In my opinion it's a better version of the Espresso Martini as it's a bit sweeter.

I somehow showed up wearing green without even planning it, so I accidentally matched the vibe which made it even better. The atmosphere overall feels clean, modern, and relaxed without being over the top. It works really well for a casual lunch or a low-key date where you still want something a little nicer. We tried a few different things, and everything was well done. The burger was juicy with a good melt on the cheese and a soft bun that held together nicely. Simple, but done right. The side salad was fresh and actually had flavor instead of just being there. The meatballs were a standout--really tender and covered in a rich, creamy sauce that made the dish feel more elevated. The mussels were also great, and the broth was flavorful enough that dipping the grilled bread in it was a must. Nothing felt like a miss, and everything had a little extra attention to detail. Also our server was very nice and kind I liked her. Overall, I'd come back. It's not super fancy, but it feels like a step up from your usual spots and is a great option if you want something cute, relaxed, and still really solid.

Once our good arrived a was already bummed as it didn't look like the photo. The burgers weren't cooked to order and overall there wasn't a lot of flavor for a burger with so much going on. This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.

Food came out quick and was pretty good. I ordered the 819 Old Fashioned burger and the apple glazed Brussel sprouts along with a beer. It was pretty solid, but I noticed halfway through it was missing the cherries, a key piece to the puzzle. Still, the burger was pretty solid. The apple glazed Brussel Sprouts were good, I wasn't sure about them at first to be honest. I had a feeling the sauce and Brussels weren't the right fit, but they quickly grew on me and I came to really enjoy them.
