I've been a lifelong Davanni's fan, but my experiences at this location have been mixed - today's order will make me rethink going back. I ordered a whole pizza hoagie on grain and was disappointed with what I received. When I picked up my order, the box was covered in pizza sauce. I didn't check the hoagie until I got home, and it was also soaked in sauce. The sandwich looked poorly assembled and it was so unappetizing I didn't want to eat it. Because of this, I likely won't tip on takeout going forward. This kind of service shouldn't be rewarded. Lesson learned. The frozen Jack's pizza I made as a replacement was at least acceptable. Ate here for the first time as a recommendation from a friend. Pizza was so good! We had the Works pizza which had the best flavors and seasonings! You can tell that the ingredients were fresh and the sauce was perfect! Flavors were wonderful and their brownies?? You seriously NEED to get one when you're there! Service was really great too! They accidentally dropped half our pizza on the floor as it came out of the oven so they automatically made another one for us so we had plenty of pizza to bring home! And didn't charge us for the extra pizza. Ambience is great for being able to have a nice conversation yet enjoying a great pizza! We will definitely be back! read more

The restaurant appears to be a eat in restaurant with tables but you order the food at the counter and then a person brings you the food. You get your own drinks and refills. We ordered the bacon chicken ranch hoagie. The hoagie was tasty abs filling. We got it with ciabatta bread but the bread was a little less fresh than I like but the flavor was good. We also ordered the works individual sized pizza. The pizza tasted like it was an boxed pizza and nothing to rave about. The workers were very nice so if you want no frills and decent food, this is a potential place to check out. Considering it shares space with a gas station, it surprised me. read more

I love, love, LOVE the pizza from Davanni's. It's been in my top two favorite pizzas in the US for most of the time I've been wise enough to have compelling opinions about pizza. Only Punch beats it in the Twin Cities. At least half of the people I talk to about Davanni's think of their awesome hoagies before thinking about their pizza, but I put it to you right here and now that it's their 'za you should be into. I always get the traditional crust, but the deep dish is also really good. Prices are very reasonable; my solo pizza with one topping today was a hair over six bucks. This particular location was going through a remodel when I was there today, so I suspect that if you decide to eat here based on my adoring recommendation, it will be somehow modernized. I bet that will be nice. I can't imagine a dining environment that could make it seem like less of a good idea to have some of this world class pizza. Plus also the hoagies are great. Pro-tip: when you receive your amazing pizza it will smell delicious, but it will be too hot to stick in your mouth with the immediacy that will compel you. I wrestle with that dilemma every time I come to Davanni's, even though I should have definitively learned my lesson by now by way of the blisters on my palate. read more

This place looked like it was going to hit the spot. Normally I wouldn't necessarily leave a review after only one visit, but since I was visiting and not sure if I am returning. I thought I should. It was not a great first impression - the woman who took my order did not really appear to be happy to be there. It's a bit of an overwhelming menu for the first time - she did not really want to help with any questions and seemed very put out. Still I ordered a sandwich. It was very good. Good pizza, good sandwiches, good pasta, good salad. I've tried all four and love them all. We've had delivery to my office, home, and done the dine in thing. Good service all around. This place is definitely one of my go to pizza places in Eden Prairie. Parking is usually not a problem. They share a lot with a Holiday Stationstore, so if you need to get gas, you can kill two birds with one stone. Pretty well located in that there's a Target, Cub, hotel, and mall nearby. From the parking lot I could smell the garlicky and toasty bread scents that were coming from Davanni's and it made me think of a warm, cozy Italian restaurant. The restaurant set up offers a customer friendly environment from the walk up ordering counter to the service areas that are stocked with everything you need to eat your meal and/or take anything to go. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant clean. I ordered a half meatball hoagie on whole grain bread with a drink and my lunch was less than $7. That felt like a deal to me. I was surprised that I was told it would take 10 minutes to get my hoagie. There were few customers in there and the lunch rush was still an hour away. What Italian restaurant doesn't have meatballs in a big pot of sauce always ready? I browsed Davanni's website while I waited. Beware though, because on the site, the nutritional info for all items on the menu can be found. I was happy I ordered a half sandwich after that. The sandwich itself was very simple: toasted bread, a light tomato sauce, meatballs and mozzarella cheese. It was also pretty bland. I used the red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese shakers to add flavor. Still, the smells were promising and although I won't get the meatball hoagie again, I will go back and try another type of hoagie or a slice of pizza. read more

I tend to eat very healthy most of the time, and there is nothing on Davanni's menu that meets that criteria. And when I'm looking to splurge and get something decadent in the land of pizza, there are so many other places to choose from in the metro that I rarely think of Davanni's. I won't lie -- their deep dish can be an exception. A delicious, gooey, fatbomb of an exception. But it's very rare. The location in EP just seems awkward. It's awkward to use as a business lunch space. It's awkward to use as a gathering or party space due to its weird location stuck next to a gas station with limited parking. I forget it exists. Yes, the food is comparable to any other Davanni's location, it's just that any other Davanni's location seems to be more convenient or useful. Davanni's can be a great space for a private gathering, as they have rooms that can be completely closed off from the rest of the restaurant. However, it's a bit less than fancy to say the least: you walk up, order at a counter, and wait for someone to call when it's ready. Not exactly optimal for using that nice space for anything business-related, but work is the reason why I have ended up there for my last two visits. Nothing like a meeting interrupted by a 2-year-old who decided they wanted to run screaming from their parents and terrorize the restaurant. Still, due to its fast-food type of service, it's a convenient stop for many on their lunch breaks -- just not for me. I'll stick with the rare delivery order from a location closer to home. read more

Some of the best calzones I've ate anywhere are found HERE. (I hold them in the same regard as the legendary BeauJo's in Colorado.) And I'm shocked nobody has reviewed this location! When I stay in Eden Prairie on business and need something to eat this is my failsafe place to call on as I can count on the following EVERY time. 1: Friendly service. 2: Hot and properly spiced food. No cardboard taste here. 3: Best calzones I've ever had, anywhere in America. They are one of the standards I measure calzones by. 4: Hoagies. They have several I like but the Southwestern Chicken stands out. 5: Pizza: Mediterranean or the Chicken and Roma Tomato, on either original crust or deep dish are also very good. I've ordered close to closing time and not encountered any attitude, just good food served with a smile. Order for lunch and it's good too. Some places have a time of day they do better than others but Davanni's gets it right consistently. Davanni's is well worth a look, when you step in the door make sure and take a second and sniff. Located next to a gas station. The pizza isn't great but you can get a huge deep dish that is slathered with toppings. The salads are good but small too. And if you want to make modifications you need to really emphasize what you want. I gave my order for salad with no bacon and no cheese and it came out full of bacon and cheese. When me and my wife got up here to see my daughter it was getting late and we needed to find a place to eat. Our first choice, Old Chicago was jammed and had no place to park so we ended up here. Now while I had eaten at Davanni's several times years ago and my daughter had been there before as well it was my wife's first go-around. We ordered the cheese bread and a pizza and were very happy with everything we got. The cheese bread was as I remember it, large slices, full of cheese and very tasty. The pizza, that too was how I remember it and everyone loved it. They are a wee bit on the high priced side but it is worth it when you consider what you get at some joints for their prices. i was super hungry and didn't bring any lunch.. i haven't been to davanni's in over 8 years and decided to order from them.. they had dropped by my work one day to give us a bunch of goodies so i decided to order from them.. i remember my husband and i going to davanni's when we used to live in bloomington.. they were so good.. because it's been such a long time since we've been there, i wanted to see if they were still as good as i remembered.. i had ordered a medium deep dish "works" pizza.. it took about 35 to 40 min before the pizza arrived.. the pizza delivery guy was really nice.. as for the pizza.. i found the sauce to be salty.. to think i love eating salty food.. BUT my taste buds have been a little off the past week with getting sick.. everything has been too sweet or too salty lately.. overall.. the pizza was really good.. just like how i remembered it.. the bread from the pizza itself was super soft and enjoyable.. because that medium pizza was more than i could eat, i told my husband to swing by so that he can have some for lunch.. even with him having braces on, he was able to eat it.. he said it wasn't salty (which means my sickness is to blame for thinking it was salty) and he enjoyed it a lot.. i had saved 2 slices for lunch the next day.. let me tell you, it was amazing!! it was even better the next day and not as salty.. i will definitely be ordering from davanni's again.. read more
