We had an early dinner during happy hour at Ike's and their HH menu is extensive! We were seated in the bar room area which is very close quarters, but I never felt uncomfortable. It has more of a dark and cozy vibe. We had a variety of happy hour snacks and the Guacamole was by far the best item. The wings had a good coating of sauce and a significant side of ranch. I wouldn't recommend the spinach artichoke dip, but we did have to sub the bread for tortilla chips as a GF option. Overall, for the price of HH I was impressed with the food and the portion.

The perfect little spot for a nightcap and dessert! We stopped here after dinner down the road in Excelsior and I'm so glad we found this little gem. Best part - they have Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream! Be warned, the portions are LARGE, we definitely could've shared just one of these. GRASSHOPPER MARTINI: Literally a boozey Shamrock Shake! It was so delicious and creamy without being too minty. CHOCOLATE CAKE: The largest slice I've ever seen. Moist and fudgey, reminded me of Portillos. ICE CREAM: The day's flavor was coffee oreo caramel, and it was the perfect blend of flavors. This was my favorite dessert! The old supper club vibe and great, friendly service was a plus too!

Everytime going to Ike's has been great. The food is always flavorful, the drinks are not watered down, the staff inside are lively and will hold a conversation with you, and the vibe inside is a good mix of working class and reserved. Worth stopping by for a bite if you're in the mood for old school American food.

Ike's is always consistent and that is something I really appreciate. My favorite things are the ribs, Brussels, cheese curds (with jalapeño jam!), Reuben and carrot cake. The drinks are always good. The prices are good and the service is excellent. The patio in the summer is so nice and the overall feel of the restaurant is cozy and warm. It's a go-to spot for us when we want no-frills deliciousness. Also shout out to Floyd, our recent server whose impeccable service caused me to write this review.

Live near here but has only visited once and now I'm feeling like I've missed out on a great happy hour spot. We swung in Friday at 4PM and it was busy but thankfully not too busy to grab a table for 3 without a reservation. The service was very friendly and prompt. Love the dark yet vibrant old school steakhouse vibe of the place. Their happy hour menu is extensive. There are 5ish flatbreads and a dozen other options from Guacamole to cheese curds to wings and pickle Fries. We tried the Brussels sports (really good flavor but needed to be cooked a little longer), deviled eggs (loved these but note that they're spicy!), and our new favorite spinach and artichoke dip with their chips. This is the best S&A dip I've ever had. So delicious! And I recommend getting with the chips as opposed to the flatbread. My other highlight was my martini which came with a backup glass so really it was 2 for 1!

Local bar with a good happy hour. Quaint bar setup but bartenders are responsive and personable. Enjoyed the flatbread during happy hour for $9 and it was hot, hearty and the base (dough) reminded me of lavash with its thin crispiness. I recommend if you're going to enjoy happy hour, get there soon. Their bar really isn't very big so snag a spot while you can. Or if you'll be sitting in the dining- reservation would probably be best as well.

Thin cut extremely charred shoe leather ribeye steak !

I'm not happy with my experience at Ike's. To put it plainly the food was not good. Everything lacked seasoning and most especially salt. I was most offended at the ribeye steak plate. It was 46$ but it was a thin cut steak. A clear rip off. It was FLAVORLESS. All I tasted was charr. I broke down and ordered the Bernaise sauce but the waiter forgot it and she took forever to make the rounds. When it did come my steak was ice cold. So upsetting but the waitress was obviously not able to keep up for some reason and never checked back in to ask if I even like the food. It was so bad. Steak isn't meant to be slathered in steak sauce when the price is 46$. I ordered mid well and if I had known I was getting a thin cut ribeye I would have done mid rare. It was like eating shoe leather. I couldn't send it back because our waiter was slower than molasses. There was not even 5 tables occupied this 4th of July. Busy wasn't a factor in this case she just wasn't good. Nice but not efficient at all. Our table spent 350$ before tip and I can say it was the worst money spent. The kitchen needs to step op their game and the chef needs to reevaluate his design and execution. Both were severely lacking. I do not need to season every single piece of my food. Please Ike's do better for the ones who do have taste buds. You have so much potential.

Wednesday afternoon at Ike's!

Wide range of food choices from salads, to sandwiches to entrees, and desert to die for! We had a fried avacado salad and a Cuban sandwich. The salad was large with huge chunks of fried avacado, very tasty and filling! The special sandwich of the day was a Cuban with pork, ham, bacon, cheese and pickles on a hoagie roll. It was tasty and huge, half came home with me in a box. To wrap up we took home a generous slice of carrot cake. It was fabulous, and didn't exist long enough to be photographed! It's a comfy place with booths, tall tables, and bar seating. Finding the place is a bit of a challenge, but the turn is off 101 and use google maps... Parking is easy with spots in the front and back. Service is great at a very comfortable pace, carrying on a comfortable conversation without shouting. A group of 15 was leaving when I arrived, so they are capable of handling a lot of people!

We dined in at Tavern 4&5 with a large group to celebrate a birthday. Reservations were made in advance and our table got seated quickly upon arrival. Similar to any tavern, the dining in experience is laid back and casual. You do not need to be dressed up by any measure to eat here. The menu is robust and I had a difficult time choosing as every item sounded great. A few members in our party had been here before and recommended the Thai chicken lettuce wraps off the appetizer menu and they did not disappoint. It was very fresh and I could tell it wasn't sitting under a heat lamp. For my main entree, I got the Chicken Yum Yum which is a bowl with fried chicken, ginger soy sauce, coconut fried rice, mushrooms, edamame, egg, green onions, sesame seeds and yum yum sauce. It was nice to be able to find an Oriental meal at a tavern. Our service was excellent for having such a large party and I felt as if the prices were reasonable. Looking ahead, I can't wait to return as there's so many other great items that I hope to try including the sweet chili cauliflower appetizer, tator tots and harvest apple salad. Thank you, Tavern 4&5!!

Ordered the chili lime shrimp salad. Comes with 6 pieces of grilled shrimp on top of greens, avocado, tortilla strips. Overall great salad but we noticed the portion size is smaller. Also tried the grilled chicken grain bowl. Comes with grilled chicken, steamed green beans, greens, and quinoa. Dressing is a sweet plum sauce. It was decent but pricey at $23. The star of our lunch was the key lime dessert. More like a deconstructed pie but huge and so good! Restaurant was busy, service was mediocre, bathroom is clean. Large shared parking lot

Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

Cheese curds - 8.5/10 Really good center and sauce, needed more breading and crunch on the exterior to match the quality of the state fair. Burger - 7/10 Solid for a pub burger, bun slightly more charred than I like, inner bites better than edges. To be fair, I'm realizing that a pub burger has a lower ceiling than a good smash burger so you know my preferences. Parlour and Five Guys are 10's to me. Fries - 8/10 Extra crispy, pretty good but somehow lacking the same flavor of other places like Bon Chon or Spitz that also use the double fry/heavy batter method. Stir Fry Bowl - 6.5/10 - very soy forward and salty, reminds me of a wok place where you walk up and choose your ingredients. Could have used less sauce or maybe sub for teriyaki Chocolate Lava Cake - 9/10 Delicious! Perfect ratio of cake to ice cream and whipped cream. Quality ice cream and great way to end the meal. Service and atmosphere were great. Certainly a bonus to use their date night deal which I think was an app, two entree, and dessert for $40.

Beckett's in uptown and Meteor Bar in Northeast are great examples of bars, both with food, that consistently go later no matter what. granted they are both in Minneapolis, so different customer base. come here, support this local establishment! they are good, just not great though they could be!! p.s. yes i am writing this from the bar, and just an update: my bill confirmed their happy hour is NOT running tonight. :/ granted the bartender never said there was happy hour and those menus weren't out, so i suspected as much. but i came for the happy hour, including food, and got neither. first world problems for sure!

I somehow showed up wearing green without even planning it, so I accidentally matched the vibe which made it even better. The atmosphere overall feels clean, modern, and relaxed without being over the top. It works really well for a casual lunch or a low-key date where you still want something a little nicer. We tried a few different things, and everything was well done. The burger was juicy with a good melt on the cheese and a soft bun that held together nicely. Simple, but done right. The side salad was fresh and actually had flavor instead of just being there. The meatballs were a standout--really tender and covered in a rich, creamy sauce that made the dish feel more elevated. The mussels were also great, and the broth was flavorful enough that dipping the grilled bread in it was a must. Nothing felt like a miss, and everything had a little extra attention to detail. Also our server was very nice and kind I liked her. Overall, I'd come back. It's not super fancy, but it feels like a step up from your usual spots and is a great option if you want something cute, relaxed, and still really solid.
