Wasn't warm enough to sit on the patio but looked like they have great outdoor seating. Our waiter had various items to recommend for us on the menu! We ordered the giant pretzel, three different flatbreads, the cluckin, and the Medina melt. The flatbreads are all personal size flatbreads. The handhelds came with really good French fries! I wanted to try the calzone but I will just have to go back. Overall great food and atmosphere. Mom loved it! read more

Went here in Valentine's Day fir the first time and I wanted to like it, but have to give it two stars. The service was very slow. We sat for 10+ minutes before being acknowledged. Tables that got sat after us already got their drinks before we even got to place our drink order. I normally don't mind slow service if the restaurant is busy, but it was not busy, our server just kept walking past us. The food was okay. We got an app (waffle fries) and I got a burger and my fiancé got the French dip. Overpriced for what it was - I was expecting something more. Only bottled/canned beer. The ambiance was not my favorite. The lights above the table were very bright and there was no decor so the place was echoey. There looked to be a counter that you could order food to go at, but not sure what that was all about. It was a confusing layout for what I thought was a sit down restaurant. Great lunch! I've been here a couple times now with my extended family and everyone can find something they like on the menu. My favorite is the mandarin orange salad, but the kids loved the jumbo pretzels and chicken tenders, and adults enjoyed various sandwiches and fries. Very casual ambiance with super friendly and attentive service. They have crayons and kids placemats for the kids to color. You can reserve the big table in the front for a large group. read more

Love this place. I have celiac disease so I have to be gluten free. There are lots of options. The only downside I would say is it's a very informal setting, more like a cafeteria. I don't mind though as the food is excellent! read more

This place is a legitimate hidden gem. For years I'd see the positive rating online and was unjustly skeptical, based purely on location in a strip of stores in Hamel. Funny enough, if it sat a block away on the Hamel main strip then I probably would have assumed it was a quaint small town restaurant, which exactly what it is. I've not had a bad thing here. The people are incredibly friendly. I think the menu must rotate a bit, because they sadly no longer seem to have my favorite sandwich, The Great Northern, a turkey and bacon on rye. But that's ok, they have plenty of other great options, including their burgers, and I like their soups, too. read more

Disappointed when we ordered two sandwiches on Friday night. Ordered the Great Northern, turkey was dry, bacon was burnt and the mayo was non-existent. Second sandwich was a Reuben with an extra side of 1000 island dressing. The receipt confirmed we ordered a Reuben; however, it was actually a chicken sandwich with 1000 island dressing on it. Another week another work lunch as I'm slowly connecting back in person with my team the past few weeks. We frequent here quite a bit at my work and if you haven't heard of it or been, you should! It's the cutest cafe style restaurant with a menu for everyone. This summer my go to has been the Pineapple Mango Salad with Salmon! Simply blown away by this place. I have heard rave reviews from friends in the area and had to check it out for myself. Oak Eatery, in Hamel, is located at the west end of a small business strip with clear visibility from HWY 55 and extremely easy to get to. The dining area is relatively small with about 10 tables but feels huge boasting tall ceilings and floor to ceiling windows on the north and west sides. On to the food. I literally could have ordered every item on the menu as they all had mouth watering descriptions. We decided to start with a spinach and artichoke dip served with fresh made bread made with their pizza dough and then seasoned. The dip was fine, exactly what you could expect from artichoke dip BUT THE BREAD! OMG. I would have been happy with a plate of that! It was soft and flakey and perfectly seasoned. I wasn't planning on soup but they had chili as a special for day so I could resist. If this chili is available ITS A MUST. I like my chili with a little more heat but given the area I get it. It was extremely flavorful though and had huge chunks of meat. For my course I went with their The Medina Sandwich. "Seasoned steak, sauteed onions, american and swiss-american cheeses served on grilled sourdough bread" The meat with cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. They served it with a side of Aj Jus which I thought was odd but it was delicious. The sandwich reminded me of a French Dip which they also have on their menu. I will probably get that next time I go. I also have pictures my girlfriends sandwich, The Rachel. Another huge sandwich that came piled high with juicy turkey, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese on grilled marble rye. I do feel it could have had a little more 1000 island. This place was GREAT. As we are in a food desert out in Medina Oak eatery is a welcome to go to when nobody can figure out where we want to go to eat. It's got a verief menu. Everybody in the family can find what they want from pizza to burgers to salads. My only desire would be that they would actually toss their salads with the dressings before surfing them. They're so big. They're very unwieldy to toss with the dressing on the side and I wish their dressing. Options were a little bit more creative. Perhaps they could sneak over to cheesecake factory and get some ideas. The service is always friendly and quick and the place is very clean and super family friendly,. Our only complaint is that it's always cold in there. The one thing that I can' say though is if you're going there and not getting the sweet potato fries with that yummy maple, I don't know what dipping sauce is, uou are missing out. I'm not sure if it's a side or a dessert, but it's definitely one of the best things about this place. also, wish they would put a little bit more fish on their fish tacos and maybe charge a dollar or two more it would be well worth it I feel like it's gotten skimpy and I don't order them anymore. read more

The waffle variety can sometimes be soggy, bogging down an otherwise awesome app. But not so for Oak; golden brown and can't-believe-it's-so-good crispy, the bacon/cheese mix on these was wondrous. And I'm definitely on team seasoned sour cream. And without further ado, the vessel for the au jus. Terrifically tender beef and gooey provolone with crispy sweet onions on ciabatta... you just gotta go for it. The house special sauce was sensational as well I think you'll jive with this place off Highway 55! The dishes are dually down-to-earth and divine, not to mention the prices that are very fair in the midst of inflation! Oak is no joke--its worth it to stop by soon! Our food was delicious and the service was great! I think the only reason I may not recommend was the atmosphere felt really bare and cold. At first walking in it looked like a place where you order at the counter and leave or quick grab a table, like a fast food/to go situation... not welcoming as if it was a sit down restaurant. I think the atmosphere is part of the experience and it just didn't feel like a cozy spot. I think it has a ton of potential if it felt more welcoming! Other than that we enjoyed the meal! read more

I've driven past this place on 55 many times. Our favorite lunch spot was full so this was a fling. They have a great selection on the menu with starters and apps, nice soup selection and then a huge variety of burgers, flatbreads, handhelds with a selection of fries, chips, salad and other choices. Soup and food was great, service was friendly and attentive, parking was plentiful, all good. The building is industrial finish so it could get a little noisy quickly. Definitely give it a shot if you are looking for a meeting lunch spot in the Medina area. read more

Good spot - no frills joint with good, affordable food. Nothing will necessarily wow you, but everything is solid. The service staff was also really nice. I shared the fish tacos, orange & chicken salad, and the rachel with 2 others. The Rachel was really good, the marble bread was soft and fresh. The fish tacos were decent as well. They came with a crispy tortilla type thing which surprised me, but the fish inside was good. The salad was pretty good, nothing special, but a fine healthy alternative. My uncle got the burger with sweet potato fries, and I tried a couple fries and really liked them. They were served with a cinnamon aioli that was super tasty. All in all, this is a pretty good low key spot. read more

The food here is really amazing! You can't go wrong with a sandwich, burger, flat bread or salad. The calzone look good, but I still need to order my own. I've only had a taste of friends'. This is the perfect time to go with the patio open! It's counter order and they bring it to your table. They have breakfast lunch, and dinner. They even have beer and wine! There's not a ton of seating so I usually get mine to go. But I've enjoyed eating in too. The servers are very friendly and helpful. If you're ever in the Western burbs come try them for lunch. read more

Great beer and wine selection! It is a cute little place right across from Aldi. I originally went just for a quick bite and some coffee but stayed for a beer and a meal. I've been told it's a little pricy, but I'm from LA visiting and these prices seem normal to me. The coffee is definitely on the cheaper side but has a wonderful taste! Recommend for lazy mornings and lunches. Lovely staff and cozy atmosphere. read more

Asked for medium and it came almost past medium well. Flavor was kind of bland and unremarkable. Not a great burger. Fusion fish tacos. They put tiny bits of fish in. So little fish, I thought this was a vegetarian meal. Using wonton shells was novel, but they were brittle and broke apart too easily. Service (70% of 1.5 star total): Folks were nice and polite. It's what you would expect of a local/family owned business. Value (70% of 1 star total): Neither expensive nor inexpensive. Cost wise, it's a balanced offering. They serve this sauce with the sweet potato fries, that is sweet yet so savory. I definitely recommend trying the fries just to taste the sauce! I ordered the Reuben sandwich but instead of using regular corn beef they put corned beef hash in their sandwich. At first I was wondering where the corn beef was in their Reuben, but it was corn beef hash so stay away from their Reuben sandwich. read more
