A great place to stop when you're in the neighborhood. We were biking near Minnehaha Falls, and wanted to eat at that restaurant there. We love that restaurant, but the line is insane. We looked at yelp and found this to be the closest comparable restaurant. They have a very creative drink menu, considering that they don't have a liquor license so things are made with beer and wine. I enjoyed my drink my sister not quite as much. They do have a selection of vegetarian items. We just ordered some nachos and they were very tasty. It is definitely a place that I would go back to if I were in the neighborhood. They have a beautiful outside patio. It is one of those places where it is partial service, so you go up and order or order on your phone.

NUTSHELL VERSION: 1/ Several local guests at the auto show recommended this local chain. 2/ I was so impressed by the creative menu that I snapped shots of it to pull inspiration from in my own kitchen. 3/ After starting on our meals, several of the auto show ride and drive teammates who I was spending the day with started perusing the menu again for additional meals to order and take back to their hotel for later. _____ With a name like Tipsy Steer, one might expect a steakhouse, perhaps with a brewery spin. Nope. We did a double-take when we all walked into a bright, airy interior with a casual café vibe. There were printout menus stacked by a register at the counter. We grabbed them (not realizing that each table had a stack of menus, whoops!) and took up a large table to peruse the delightfully creative offerings. Making choices proved to be difficult for all of us. There was one front-of-house attendant flitting about, a bright smile on her face throughout the while. She was warm, welcoming, attentive, informative, and a joy to interact with. Everyone's food arrived at the table with Insta-worthy presentation, generously portioned, and - most importantly - everyone's dish wowed them - except mine, which was decent. I'll definitely be bringing more MN visitors by to explore one of the three Tipsy Steer locations of the Twin Cities and see if I don't find a dish or two that wows me as well.

We've eaten here a few times because it's convenient, food and service is consistently good. Stopped in this time for the walleye fish fry and a shrimp po boy. Fish was seasoned and cooked well, maybe adding a little coleslaw to round out the plate would help with the price tag. Although I liked the po boy, I thought the grilled peppers were a weird add. Decent selection of beer and wine. They also had yummy looking milkshakes but we didn't try.

Everything. First spot right off the plane. Thanks to yelp it was ranked top 5. We were craving for a good burger! We got amazing!

This is a sit down restaurant, and you order at the counter. My companion and I both had burgers. They had the Gorgonzola burger and I had a cheeseburger. On both the grease was just running down our fingers. Tasted good, but we were greased-out by the time we were done and neither of us finished our burgers; there was a bit of bone in their burger too. The side salads honey lemon vinaigrette was much more honey than vinaigrette. I upgraded to the onion rings and it was $2, and I got two rings. Seating area and bathrooms were clean and stocked.

I stopped here to eat dinner on my trip to Minneapolis. A friend of mine and I shared the Gouda Fondue. It had several accompaniments with it. We really enjoyed the steak, the tomatoes, and the pretzel bites. The apples were good, but a little unusual. It was nice to have a little bit of sweet with all of the savory. The Gouda was excellent! We also shared the chicken Rojo avocado tacos. They were very juicy, but the tortilla held up! There was plenty of food for both of us. We ordered at the counter and were served quickly. After eating our dinner, we ventured outside for some ice cream. It was a very nice experience and priced right.

Good choices of local beers though forget this place if vegetarian - unless you want to salad or pizza. Was at park and walked over as review listed this establishment as vegetarian-friendly. We'll i guess so if you eat processed foods such as impossible burger or vegan chicken or vegan chorizo - which are just processed stuff - I had the side salad and was told the vinegarette dressing was home made - well it was missing flavor. The burgers look big - I think meat eaters would enjoy

Was in Minnesota for business and stopped in due to all the positive reviews. So glad we did. Had the short rib grilled cheese and my friend had the sassy steak sandwich. Wow wow wow, both were amazing! Highly recommend if you're a local or just passing through. The people were very friendly and the place was clean. Can't ask for a better place. Btw. We were the first to try the strawberry shortcake shake. Perfect way to finish an amazing meal.

We visited the tipsy steer for happy hour and we each had a personal pizza. The price was good and we were happy with the food, many vegan options available. Service was quick and you can either order at the counter or via the QR code. They have plenty of seating inside and outside and the music is upbeat. Happy hour was recently changed to 3-5:30 with fewer deals. Plenty of parking in the parking lot.

We went at night, so the space was not as cute as in the day. Florescent lighting and was very cold because of all the windows everywhere, but I really liked the art on the wall of "make tacos, not walls." I was a little worried when I looked at the menu because there weren't many written vegetarian options (was gonna just get rice and beans), but was able to get a vegetarian quesadilla, so I assume that many of their options can be made veggie, if you ask. Food came out relatively quickly and they brought lots of salsa too, which was perfect because I almost always have to ask for more salsa at most places. The quesadilla was so good. The cheese they used was divine and so melty! Good combo of veggies in it too (peppers and onions and more that I can't remember right now oops). I also got the oreo cheesecake, which was DIVINE. I always forget how much I like cheesecake and this one was tastier than most. I loved the crunchy oreos too to add a little texture. Will definitely be coming again to try different things. Want to try their juices when it's a little warmer!

The hot sauce was actually hot (not Minnesota hot), and the taco was full of bold, satisfying flavor. Round two: the American taco with asada ($5.25), this time with medium green sauce--flavorful with just the right amount of kick. Washed it down with a lightly sweetened hibiscus agua fresca, which was the perfect balance to the heat. The staff was friendly, the music authentic, and the whole place had great energy. The decor is okay, plant-inspired. Not much to look at and the lighting is quite dim. There is zero service here. No one even greets you when you walk in. It's basically operating like a fast food place. More importantly, the pictures on the menu are way different from the items you actually get. The food is fine but it is not delicious, and I don't see myself coming back here. I ordered steak quesadillas and it's like they barely toasted a tortilla, threw some tasteless meat and mozzarella cheese on it and called it a day. I had to eat sauce with every bite otherwise it would be essentially tasteless. There was nothing else on it, no onion, no peppers, nothing. I could've made better at home. This isn't even a proper restaurant. You don't get drinks, even water unless you order it. No free chips and salsa or anything like that.

Ben and Jerry's free ice cream cone day. After hanging out for half an hour with a live DJ,…read moredancing, and ice cream, we were ready for dinner. Priorities. What are we craving? Burgers? Nah. Pizza? Two maybes - plus the asker. Mexican? Again, two maybes. We start scouring possibilities. And come across a pizzaria + taqueria. Ratings at a very respectable 4.5. Curiosities at full peak. Plus it's close. We've got a winner. No guests inside when we arrive. Parking right out front. Before we even decide on an order, however, people start coming in. Several tables fill up within 10 minutes. Amusingly, the first next group grabbed the one curved booth with my full drink bottle still sitting on the table in the middle of them. They migrated to the semi-booth across the dining area. Clearly, the two most desired seating areas in the house. We ordered birria pizza and horchata - we have a tradition of testing the horchata at every next Mexican restaurant we try. This one was mid - not horrible, not great. Just was. We'd ordered a birria pizza recently, elsewhere. It came out as... a birria taco in pizza layout. Tortilla circle, birria middle, tortilla top. Meh. To be fair, that birria pizza was the only pizza item on that menu, so it made sense that their pizza just wasn't pizza-ing. We were hopeful for a very different experience this time. Especially given the very clear emphasis on pizza on this menu. Then the pizza came. Not only did it look glorious, a bowl of birria dip sat in the middle of the pizza, completing the birria experience. And it was absolutely fantastic. The birria, the ratio, the crust - everything was delicious. Except, as my friend pointed out, the horchata. It can't all be perfect, unfortunately. The pizza was so good that when we wrapped up the leftovers, a strip of end crust went in with the rest of the pie. Speaking of, I'm definitely ready to reheat all of that now - update: Awesome reheated. :) Next visit: Chorizo pineapple jalepeño pizza!

Marsu Pizzeria: The Battle for the Last Slice…read more I walked into Marsu Pizzeria already knowing two things: 1) I was about to have the best pizza of my life. 2) I was going to order way too much food and have no regrets. The place smelled like heaven--garlic, melted cheese, fresh dough. I took a seat, ready to devour a feast. A cheerful employee--let's call him Tony (because let's be real, every good pizzeria has a Tony)--walks up with a confident smile. Tony: "You ready for the best pizza of your life?" Me: "Tony, I've been training for this moment my whole life." I ordered the house special pizza (because if a pizza place has a signature pizza, you ORDER IT), plus some garlic knots, because I respect myself. The food came out fast, hot, fresh, and smelling like a dream. As I'm one slice away from food coma territory, I see it. The last slice. The holy grail. The perfect combination of cheese, sauce, and crispy crust, staring at me like it knows it's about to be devoured. Just as I'm reaching for it, Tony slides by the table, nodding at my plate. Tony: "You gonna finish that?" Me: "...I was planning on it, Tony." Tony: "You sure? I mean, we could put it up for auction. Bidding starts at one garlic knot." Me: "Not happening." Tony: "Alright, but just know... if you don't eat it in the next 30 seconds, I legally get to claim it." Now, I don't know what kind of pizzeria law Tony is operating under, but I wasn't about to test it. I stared him dead in the eyes as I picked up the last slice and took the biggest bite possible. Tony (nodding approvingly): "Good choice. That's the kind of hunger we respect around here." Long story short, Marsu Pizzeria has the best pizza, the best vibes, and employees who will absolutely test your commitment to finishing your food. Final score? 10/10 pizza. 10/10 service. 10/10 threats on my last slice.
