Good food and good service. Don't know if I would call this my favorite place, but it was OK.

Excellent, friendly, fast service and tasty, good quality food for the money. The restaurant's interior and exterior seating were super clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. read more

First time here after it's Tipsy Steer. Good good, great shades and good environment. Prices were appropriate. Good selection of food items. Small place Ave Right next to the light rail. The noise level can get really loud in a small space. Friendly staff and I like that I can just order from the table with the QR code without going up to the front counter to order and then good is brought out to us. The service is quick from the time good is ordered to it being served. They have a good brunch menu and so will come back to check it out. read more

my husband and I randomly dropped in yesterday (a Friday) with our two toddlers after a Nokomis walk. The restaurant was packed but the wait was just 20 minutes so we decided to risk it. Our kids were restless and it was pretty clear to everyone there that we were struggling to keep them entertained, but we stayed because we had a long drive home and the kids were hungry. When we got a table, the person who sat us (assuming the owner or manager) came back within 5 minutes with warm pretzels and the most amazing cheese dip and said "thank you for your business, this is on me." It was such a kind gesture, and perfect timing. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was attentive, generous and just "on it." Cant recommend it enough. read more

First, you order and pay at the counter and they deliver to your table. That was a little confusing on my first visit. My Bacon Jam burger was excellent and the Brie cheese was a perfect fit. Hamburger patties are thin so they are not cooked to order but were very juicy. I substituted onion rings and they give you 2 jumbo rings. The Burrata Board was also very good. I ordered it to go and we had it for dinner later that evening. The Strawberry Spritz was good but really needed more strawberry flavor. We will definitely be back. read more

Tipsy steer has a food menu that seems to have everything on it, which makes me wonder how well they do it. Well, the sandwiches we had were decent, but the soft pretzel sticks were phenomenal. Plus they have a cute (albeit noisy, as it's on Hiawatha) patio. I'll have to try something off their very inventive ice cream menu next time. read more

The perfect comfort food! I found out about the tipsy steer through the minneapolis Yelp page. They posted a picture of these decadent looking milkshakes and I knew I had to have one. My friend and I ordered the cheese fries and duck bacon wontons to start. The Gouda cheese sauce was delicious but there wasn't enough on it. We asked for more and the staff was happy to bring us a nice size cup of cheese sauce to add on top or dip in. The winner, though, was definitely the wontons! They were big, crunchy, and had the most amazing raspberry bbq glaze drizzled on top. I would put that glaze on any and everything if I could! As our meal, we split the Brewers Take pizza and both ordered a milkshake. The pizza was yummy all the way from the toppings to the crust. The milkshakes were creamy and came with sweets on the side! read more

Came here for a dinner date with my partner and it was fantastic! I had the sassy steak sandwich and OMG! The flavors are like fireworks in my mouth! Absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed the vegan chorizo in the nachos and my highlight was the cookies & cream milkshake. The cookie was so soft and melted in my mouth. The staff were so kind and the food came quick. Vibrant place with an outside patio area and a garage window that opens up, bringing in fresh air. read more

Visited 4/3/23. I had always seen this restaurant next to the Hiawatha light rail stop and had been intrigued but finally stopped for the first time a few weeks ago for a happy hour. Small place, but there was plenty of parking in the lot available and the light rail lot. Service was seat yourself then order at the counter and it was a Monday so my group all did the burger special (buy one get one half off). We also got two orders of the happy hour onion rings. While these were a smaller portion than the normal order, they still made a for a great happy hour deal and they tasted great. The best happy hour deal was the $5 beers on tap and my whole group talked about what a steal this deal was. Overall, made for a fun quaint atmosphere with fun music coming from the touch tunes. Definitely a great happy hour spot. read more

Quality of the food was good, nothing wrong with it, but very overpriced for what it is. We chose to eat on the patio and the flies were terrible out there. read more

Great food, drinks, atmosphere, but tight parking. Their soft pretzel appetizer was incredibly soft, warm and delicious with the gouda cheese dipping sauce. The bang bang shrimp tacos were full of flavor--I mean lick the paper wrapper to savor every bite of flavor! My friend said her meal was incredible too but clearly I was too involved in my tacos to remember what she was eating or to ask for more details . I also had their lemon cocktail--I don't recall the name but it had different kinds of lemon alcohol and some lavender mix--it was delicious, definitely worth a try! Next time I want to try their monstrous milkshakes; they looked like an entire dessert meal in a glass! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You'll order when you walk in and then find your own spot to sit. The parking lot is extremely tight to drive within and has very few spots; I'd honestly considering seeing if parking in the street (on the hill) is a viable option before trying their parking lot again; or across the street at the park and walking over. read more

Came here after a Yelp event. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. Staff was really friendly but the food wasn't all that. We tried the pickle pizza with pork belly croutons ($18) and the duck breast wontons. Wasn't a big fan of the wontons, they looked great but 2 out of 4 had no filling lol. Also the flavor kind of tasted like queso, which I don't think was the intended effect. It came with BBQ sauce drizzled on top and the flavor combination was just not hitting. This was also my first time trying pickle pizza, I liked the pork belly croutons which are a $2 recommended add on, and the pizza was tasty if you're a pickle fan. I would say, not worth the price or cost of food. Food was just okay, nothing to write home about. read more

We don't usually think of Tipsy Steer for breakfast. We will going forward. Our breakfast was SO good! We usually rate a good breakfast by good coffee. But the food was as good as the coffee so two thumbs up! Service was fast too. read more

Really enjoyed this nice place over a quick lunch break. The short ribs grilled cheese was really good. The prices are fair and the service is great. Not too invasive but manager or someone asked us how everything was and how they can make it better. Really like the informal setting, boothes and tables, just a place I'd go back to again. read more

I've been wanting to try eating at Tipsy Steer since it opened, right on the corner off of 55 and 50th Ave. the patio looks super inviting and the big long horn neon sign shining through the front windows is super effective. My bf and I started with the brussel sprout and kale flatbread. I've never had anything like it! The umami flavor was really nutty and paired well with the slight bitterness of the kale. We ate the whole thing and were mind blown by the flavors until the very end of it! Next we shared a burger - definitely worth the price! The meat is juicy and just the right amount of fattiness to deal decadent but not make you feel sick. The bleu cheese was delicious and again we felt that the bitter flavor was very well balanced for the dish. Whoever is making this menu has a fantastic aptitude for bitter flavors!! Lastly we had the dream milk shake which was AMAZING. I never finish these types of desserts but we slurped the whole thing! The brownie is much better after you rip it up and mix it with the ice cream. Overall super happy with our meal and can't wait to come back to try more! read more

Great casual dining spot on the blue line! This place has an elevated my burger feel with the QR online menu and delivery to the table. My second visit to Tipsy Steer on Minnehaha Avenue. The first trip was a quick trip by myself, staff and food were both great and I decided to bring my wife and adult son after a good day at the Ice Maze in Eagan. I would not come here for the ambiance, it is good, but not great. The food and friendly staff more then make up for it. We had the Shrimp Po Boy, Mac and Cheese with Shrimp and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese all were above expectations. We started with the Pimento Fried Cheese Balls which were excellent. While the food was excellent, the shakes and Root Beer Float were stars. Prices were reasonable and service was quick and efficient. The ordering app made things very easy. read more

I decided to pop in and try tipsy steer when I was in the neighborhood. Super glad I did. Thought the food was fantastic. I ordered the hazy which is short ribs, bacon an egg and cheese. The only thing I was surprised was I thought it would be a burger with short ribs on top but it was actually all short ribs. At first I was disappointed but the taste surpassed that disappointment. It was moist and delicious. I did substitute regular mayonnaise because I think any truffle flavored is disgusting. I also did not have the ranch seasoning on my french fries. One disappointment is there is no note about the french fry seasoning on the menu which is a QR code leading you to their website through toast. But I don't like most french fry seasonings so I asked the Young lady sitting near the front after I placed my order. If there was any seasoning on the fries and she said there was and she was able to tell the chef to keep it off my order. I only give it four stars because for me I don't mind counter service because the expectation is no one is serving me and then I don't have to tip. I don't like ordering from A QR code as much as I like having the interaction with the server. There was a woman sitting there working on a computer. She never checked on my food. She never asked me how I was. She didn't clear my plate while I was still there. So to me I don't think I should be tipping at all. But I did leave a couple bucks In the end I would go back here again and try other food read more

Have been a couple times. First time left a bad impression as tap in bathroom was broken (fortunately tho they have 2 bathrooms) on my return trip I was happy to see the issue has been fixed. The food here is really tasty. Had a burrata board the first time and a steak salad the second time, and both were good options, tho I preferred the steak salad. Pretzels were really good (I'm pretty sure they fry them) tho cheese sauce was a bit grainy. Fries tasty. Pizzas ok. Looking forward to trying one of their burgers sometime. Service ok. Everyone's short-handed these days. I love their outdoor patio space tho. read more

Tried the short rib grilled cheese, up in smoke pizza and the creamsicle drink of the month. Overall really enjoyed the up in smoke pizza and orange creamsicle drink. Strangely, the short rib grilled cheese was better after being reheated versus when it was fresh. A nice place for quick take out with a fairly unique midwestern style menu. Felt a little spendy for the portion sizes. I've tried other tipsy steer locations and this one was the least fun inside but had best menu. Will give this place another shot in the future! read more

A wonderful neighborhood casual dining restaurant! I really loved the concept of this place - you can seat yourself and order right from your table via phone. The ordering system was super simple and easy to use. If you prefer to order in person, you can do so at the table. The food came out quick and was fresh + hot. We both ordered burgers and enjoyed them. My burger lacked a little flavor, but perhaps I could've been more daring and ordered a "fun" option for the burgers vs. the cheeseburger. Would definitely visit again! read more

I have to echo Kyle T. about the counter ordering. The other TS restaurants aren't like this and have a wider menu and on CR C in Roseville a full bar. I got a cheeseburger that tasted well enough, but I had to scrape off this garlicy white crap. Fries were good. You get your own soda. Had to hunt down own ketchup bottle. It was a nice night after a fun Yelp event in the neighborhood. Plus it turned into a girls night out on the patio with Erin V. I was telling her how there used to be a couple of BBQ joints in this building. I think they had table service, but you paid at the counter. They seem to like that counter although it's directly as you walk in. Plus they're pretty pushy as to where you're sitting before you have a chance to think about anything. If you like walking back and forth this is a great system. If this is your hood, why not eat here. I like more service and less confusion. Rip off alert. It's about $16 plus for a double burger that is forced on you. If you only want a single, which is a good size it's the same amount. read more

5 Stars because the burger only lasted about 5 seconds in my presence. Oh soooo good. Not a place you ant to go if you're counting calories, but absolutely head here for some great food. I didn't get a shake, but regret it. I got the pimento and olive burger. It was two patties with pimento cheese, olives, and roasted pimento peppers. It was oozing with greatness. I also opted for the side salad without onions. I felt guilty enough with the burger, so I didn't get the fries. This is why you need to go in a group. Try everything! Cute place, has a patio that's pet friendly. Would be a good group get together spot. Conveniently located next to the train, so you don't need to drive. read more

Finally, I got to come eat here and let me tell you, I should not have waited as long as i did! First had the Bavarian Pretzel with Gouda Cheese Dip, and it was DIVINE! The pretzel was hot, Soft but with a crisp, perfectly done and it could be eaten by itself but noooo, it came with the Gouda cheese dip and then heaven met heaven and brought made my mouth so happy. Then, I started on the Sassy Steak Sandwich that i asked for it to be pink. The steak was like filet mignon and bit through it like butter and went perfect with the chimichurri sauce, roasted red peppers, and marinated tomato. The service was amazing! Steer this way you will tip me for this advice! Located off the 50th Street/Hiawatha Park Light Rail Station, the Tipsy Steer will delight almost any eater with an diverse menu of sandwiches, tacos, burgers, and pizza. The exterior and interior and have a fresh, informal look with finer touches, including a digital jukebox, custom leather booth seating, and the Tilted Steer logo embroidered and painted throughout. The food matches the ambiance--fun and diverse. The brisket sandwich was decadently fatty, dripping with juice, and oh so satisfying. The "Psycho Shake" is a fun spin on a milkshake with a delicious cooking treat speared to the top and an extra tin cup layering the glass for the inevitable drips down the side. I was pleased to learn that the Tipsy Steer also has restaurants in Blaine and Roseville. You might regret the calories, but you won't regret the taste. Worthy of being profiled on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! read more

Bang bang shrimp tacos, yum!! We decided to stop here for a bite before going to a show, and I'm happy that we picked this place out to try. My husband said the chicken and waffles were delicious as well. It had a nice spicy syrup. The IPA onion rings were yummy too, and everything was made fresh to order. The milkshakes looked huge and really tasty as people kept ordering them, so maybe another time if we are in the area we will try one or the brick oven pizza. Went for Father's Day - my choice because it's near where our local kid lives. Started a bit negatively as we asked the kid who seated us if we could get booth seating dried off instead of sitting at a table with all metal chairs. He started out a bit surly, not wanting to seat us at the booths ("too hard to dry"). And he bolted quickly- seemed tired, not ready for prime time. He did get nicer over the course of our visit. To continue, our brunch entrees took a while - as we discovered eventually, because my omelette had been dropped (had to be made over) and my wife's request in the online ordering app was not initially followed. The food was really tasty so it was worth it in the end. I'd like to return for the non-brunch menu. Note too, it got really busy shortly after we arrived @ 11:15- perhaps folks opting for the regular menu over the brunch. read more

3.5 Stars Nice convenient spot close to the Minneapolis Minnesota Veterans Administration Hospital, the Minnehaha dog park, and Minnehaha Falls park. The metro Blue Line 50th and Hiawatha stop. Parking lot is small. Good selection of beers, and a well rounded menu. The Up In Smoke pizza was tasty but better before the smoke flavor faded and it was on the sweet side. My partner chose the Faribault Pride burger and she chose fries as a side. Both were delicious. We started our meal with the Emerald Coast Baked Avocados and i would have to say these were the only disappointing item. Even though they were baked, the avocado and crab( is it?), were not creamy or buttery almost bland in flavor. I hope to return too try more of their menu and I do recommend this dog friendly establishment. read more

American food that has flavor and well priced. Great dog friendly patio with servers that are good with QR codes. Great atmosphere.

It's challenging to review new places during the pandemic because I've just been doing takeout. Ordering online was easy. Once I got to the restaurant, they had places marked in the lot for picking up. It was a very short wait for them to bring the food out. I got the Raspberry Brie Chicken Melt and it was even better than I expected. (It's always awesome when that happens!) The sandwich was incredibly flavorful with the chicken being really juicy and the fixings complimented it well. This place seems like a fitting addition to the area. I wish I was able to see the interior of the restaurant, but I guess that gives me another reason to return for another meal. read more
