Food was solid across the board. I had the double barrel burger, which was good, pretty classic but well executed. The ahi tuna crisps were fine, but not something I'd order again. The standout for me was the gluten-free wings. I love that they offer them gluten free, and the sauce was amazing. Drinks were also great. The margarita was fantastic. No shortage of amazing cocktails here. The menu is impressively diverse with a lot of options, and everything feels a step above typical bar food. Service was amazing and really made the experience. We stopped in for a late lunch on a gorgeous Saturday and were lucky enough to snag a table out on the patio (a must as we had our pup with us). The patio was very pretty and a relaxing area to sit. The recent interior updates look fantastic and really fit the North Loop vibe. We sat in the bar area, and our bartender was super attentive. Even though it was busy, our glasses never went empty. For food, we tried the happy hour guacamole, which was topped with radicchio and jalapeños. It was very flavorful, though a bit spicy for me. For dinner, my boyfriend and I shared the Blues 2.0 burger. It was a unique take on a classic since it came on a French roll. We stopped in for dinner when going to an event in downtown Minneapolis. The interior space is really attractive, and there is a pretty cool patio space that they hadn't setup for the season yet. Despite the patio not being open, they had floor to ceiling doors that slide open to overlook the patio space, and we were able to score a high top table in the bar next to that open door. It felt like sitting outside, which is such a treat in March + Minnesota (*jazz hands* for 70 degree weather). We got the patty melt, sliders, and truffle fries. The patty melt came with a double patty and had a good ratio of onions and cheese. Of the ones I've had in the Twin Cities, this was one of the better ones. The sliders were a happy hour special ($10), and you could add lettuce, tomato, onion. The truffle fries were hot and seasoned well. For happy hour drinks we tried an Odell draft beer ($7) and a lemon drop martini ($8). We were able to score street parking nearby. My only criticism is that I thought the price of the patty melt burger should have included a side of fries or coleslaw. read more

Hubby and I had Red Cow back in 2019 and couldn't wait to go back. After this last visit, it's officially our go-to burger spot in Minneapolis. We walked over on a Sunday night and there was a bit of a wait. After about 15 minutes, our table was ready. We started with the onion rings which came with a seasoned sour cream dip. I'm usually not a huge fan of onion rings but these were out of this world! The batter was crunchy and seasoned well, onion had a nice bite, and the seasoned sour cream was so addictive. Great appetizer! I ordered the patty melt burger with coleslaw. Hubby ordered the double barrel burger with fries. My patty melt was scrumptious - meaty, cheesy, garlicky! The coleslaw was yummy and unique with just the right amount of mayo. Hubby loved his double barrel burger. The white cheddar and special sauce was a heavenly combination. Fries were hand-cut and done really well. He had a sweet tooth after dinner, so we ordered a birthday cake shake and shared it. It was delicious, creamy, and had lots of sprinkles mixed in. They were even more expensive then the sandwiches and they had no flavor, a rip off for the price. Chopped cheese was good albeit messy. Double barrel burger was average. Sandwiches and burgers do not come with a side anymore, which was pretty disappointing, so we got a basket of fries for $8.50 to share. Fries were ok, kinda salty. First red flag that happened was when we were ordering our burgers the waitress asked "did u want it pink or well done?" ???? i'm sorry? Didn't know there were only two options for how i wanted my burgers cooked but anywho didn't think anything of it. I told her pink is great. Burgers came out and they were pretty big but so so dry. it was well done and lacked in any sort of flavor. the best thing about the burger was the prosciutto on it. pickles on the side were also great! Blues 2.0 burger was way too heavy on the stomach but good in flavor although meat was still pretty dry. Cheese curds were good. nothing too special. This is the second time we've come to the Red Cow since it's been remodeled. The remake is just lovely. It's a fun, vibrant, festive upscale bar restaurant now. Red Cow does not take reservations, but our wait time has not been too bad, when we've come on the early side. Luckily, we've had Lindsay as our server the last two times. She might be one of the best servers we've ever had and we dine out a lot. What makes her exceptional is her willingness to please and she goes the extra mile. One example is when we ordered a vanilla milkshake and asked her for extra glasses not only did she serve us three individual small milkshakes, but she cut the straws so they would fit the smaller glasses. I hope the manager takes note of this. She is exceptional. I still think the Red Cow has the best sweet potato fries in the Twin Cities. They no longer serve them as part of complement to their burgers and sandwiches, but I'm willing to pay for them as a side because they're that good. Tonight we had the So Co impossible burger. I added bacon to mines because I need bacon is every burger I eat... they offered to split it in half since I was sharing it and it makes it so much more convenient doing that!
