I've been here several times and the food and service are consistently great! You have to get their garlic bread cheese curds!! My other favorites are the cavatelli and spicy salami pizza. Red Rabbit is a spot where I always get my favorites and don't stray because why try and fix something that ain't broke!? Their cavatelli is ALWAYS my go to for dinner - it's saucy, savory, and so so yummy every time. For dessert the sticky toffee pudding is the best I've found in the cities! Rich and moist, with the whipped cream on top that balances it out because it's not too sweet. Service is always great here as well! This is a great place to go with your family, for a date, OR if you want to sit at the bar and have a drink and a meal. I'm picky, and so I can't give Red Rabbit five stars, but I liked it. My wife and I were scouting our new neighborhood before we move, and chose Red Rabbit for lunch. Interestingly, it's one block east of what has been our North Loop border, which has been 3rd Avenue. Why we placed an iron curtain on 3rd Avenue is beyond me. The bar was pleasant and fun on a weekday afternoon. My Espresso Martini was good, and the beer selection will make most people happy. I thought my Caesar salad was great; the taste came through without any need to deconstruct that many restaurants feel inclined to do. Our grinders were good, but there was too much stuff on them to call the sandwich a New England grinder; the name is more marketing than reality. Our server/bartender, Aiden, was engaging and fun. He's the kind of server every restaurant should have. We will return to Red Rabbit when we move to the North Loop in August. I can't wait. read more

Searched for a unique non-buffet spot for Sunday brunch and Red Rabbit checked all the boxes. We had a leisurely brunch trying many spritzes and recommended (and even one totally free!) brunch cocktails. The food was great, we had amazingly fresh shrimp and grits (and having just come from SC, we've tried a lot) and an Italian inspired florentine omelette with fresh herbs and cheese. Every now and then I take myself out for a little shopping, thrifting, eating, and drinking on a random weekday in the middle of the month. After a full day of thrifting, I decided it was time for dinner, and after passing this place for years, I finally decided to stop in. I was seated at a charming table for two. The interior had the vibe of a historic building, with brick, vaulted ceilings, and large windows. I ordered the Amatriciana from that day's specials menu along with the chocolate cherry martini. Typically I don't like sweet drinks, but this was fantastically balanced. As sweet as it was, it packed an equal punch. It felt decadent and sinfully delicious. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was well made, with bits of fatty, crispy pork adding a rich, well-developed flavor. The girl dinner - on Sundays-Thursdays only after 8pm - consisted of a mini Caesar salad, vodka pasta, rosemary fries, and a Hugo spritz. Delish! As for the food and service, everything was top-notch. Our order was taken promptly and both our drinks and dishes arrived quickly without feeling rushed. Wow, wow, WOW! I was super impressed with Red Rabbit, the only disappointing thing about dining here was that I haven't eaten here sooner! First of all, service here is top notch. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was the perfect amount of attentive without being overbearing. But besides that, she did a great job recommending things to us. The manager also came over and we had a nice conversation with her; she helped me figure out what I should order with my dairy issues. Red Rabbit is one of the best service experiences we have had in the Twin Cities, hands down. The food was amazing too. I got the marinera pizza and the cauliflower, both "plant based" (vegan, including dairy-free). I found out after ordering that if your issue is simply dairy, you can also order the vegan bolognese and then substitute pork sausage for the vegan sausage; I will definitely do that next time. But both the pizza and the cauliflower were excellent, the pizza was perfectly crisp and a bit spicy, and the cauliflower was delicious. For drinks, we each had a version of an aperol spritz (being a 'Roman" restaurant, they of course have a ton of "spritz" drinks, including a flight). I also had an old fashioned, which was the only thing I consumed that evening that I didn't really care for (I would get it with a different bourbon; their whiskey was too earthy for me). I absolutely loved red rabbit!!! as long as I've lived in Minneapolis, this has been my first time there. I went with a group for a friend's birthday, and the service was absolutely incredible, the server laughed with us made jokes, and made it so easy to be there as a group. We ate here with a vegan friend and it was the first time I've ever actually eaten in the restaurant, though I've ordered delivery a few times. The restaurant itself was nice and welcoming. It is pretty dark, and all of our old eyes were having trouble seeing the menu. But it's got ambiance at least. I do find it odd that they do not take dinner reservations here - just brunch and lunch. So it's first come first served when you come for dinner. Fortunately, they were able to seat us immediately so all good. My husband got the limon mocktail, which he said was good. My whiskey ginger was good. We ordered the garlic cheese curds which came to the table piping hot and really really yummy. We also got a half dozen oysters, which were fine, presented well with a trio of sauces. I'd give them a 8/10 for the shucking but they were still totally edible and great. Bonus points to our waiter for knowing exactly what types of oysters he had available. For dinner, I got the bolognase, my friend got the vegan bolognase, and my husband got a pizza. The pizza was reportedly good - it looked good. My friend ate almost her entire plate, so hers must have been good. Unfortunately, my pasta was overcooked and a bit gummy, and my dish overall was lukewarm. I think it must have been the first one done and sat on the line in the kitchen for awhile. I only ate half of it and honestly am not excited about the leftovers. We dined here on Sunday, August 31st, party of two, with an arrival at about 8:45pm. We had an excellent experience, and honestly -- this was probably our restaurant highlight of our trip to MSP. Red Rabbit is located in a very vibrant area of downtown, even on a holiday weekend, where Downtown is not the busiest of areas, this place seemed to be doing pretty well. We had a wonderful server this evening. Her name was Natalie, and she was very pleasant, made great recommendations and overall had a great attitude. We started with some drinks, and my first choice unfortunately was not available (Frose machine was down); however, I settled on another drink, which was also great. So, we ended up sharing both the Italian Chopped Salad and the PB&J Pizza. Both were excellent. The Chopped Salad was perfectly tossed and dressed with a great assortment of ingredients including salami, pepperoni, provolone, chickpeas, peppers and olives. The Pizza was Pepperoni, Bacon and Jalapeno. It was also good, crispy, baked to a golden brown, with a good amount of toppings. YUM! We each got our own dessert, although we tried both. We got the Sticky Toffee Cake and the Chocolate Budino. Although they were both good, the Sticky Toffee Cake was the winner. This was next level. We were once at a Hells Kitchen restaurant, (the Gordon Ramsey one, not the one in MSP) and this one gave that one a clear rival to watch out for. Overall, an excellent meal. We made reservations ahead of time but I think if you get there right at 10 when they open for brunch you would be able to get a table. It was getting busy when we left around 11. This is the Red Cow's sister restaurant. It's more Italian based food options. There is also a location in St Paul. I've come here for the great brunch, amazing summer patio and good food. On the weekends and and occasions, like Mother's Day, there's an added menu for brunch. You really can't go wrong, but the homemade pasta and meat blends are what they do best. The kids even love their mac n cheese with beautifully rolled noodles. I recommend the butternut squash ravioli or the mastacholi. The apps are the same as Red Cow. The host seated us right away and gave us a great rundown of the happy hour options and 12 Cocktails of Christmas offerings. Our server Mark did a fabulous job from start to finish and we never wanted for anything. Our absolute favorite part of the meal was our appetizer of wood grilled oysters. The play of flavors was sooo satisfying that I was literally doing a shimmy in my chair, and my husband said he could have eaten a few more orders of them. For entrees we had the PB & J pizza (pineapple, bacon & jalapeño) and the chicken parmesan. The pizza was enjoyable but barely had any pineapple on it, and the crust under the toppings was super thin and soggy, whereas the edges were puffed up and crisped to perfection so it really showcased what was wrong/missing with the other areas of the crust. The chicken parm had decent flavor; the chicken was moist, but they didn't give you a spoon to use as a base for spinning the pasta on your fork and good luck getting thicker bucatini pasta to spin 'round your fork without one especially when the chicken breast was pinning the noodles down to the plate. For dessert we were sad to find out they did not have any sticky toffee cake, but the zeppoli were certainly tasty and a nice way to end the meal. read more
