On the fourth day of my first visit to Minneapolis, my buddy JJ and I embraced Minnesota Nice mantra and invited Matthieu, a newfound bar friend, to a Twins game. We all slept through first pitch, but that didn't stop us from ordering combo platters of shots and beers. Three hours of baseball and day-drinking can take a toll on a man, so Matthieu proposed an after-party at his favorite eatery, Red Rabbit. The hostess seemed surprised when three guys in full baseball regalia requested a lunch table, but she welcomed us and honored our request to sit far from any families or members of the clergy. Matthieu came out swinging suggesting a hard-to-find AleSmith Nut Brown Ale. He paired it with the Burrata Grilled Toast, topped with micro basil, pesto, and roasted tomatoes. The toast inspired such devotion that we divided the final piece into thirds like diplomats negotiating a peace treaty. Some Minneapolitan-Neapolitan cultural exchange was clearly at work in the Garlic Bread Cheese Curds. This layered appetizer starts crunchy, turns puffy, and finishes with the curds' satisfying squeak. It needed marinara about as much as Joe Mauer needed Justin Morneau, but the sauce still improved the experience. Before you alert the pizza police, PB&J Pizza stands for pineapple, bacon, and jalapeño. This Hawaiian-adjacent combination hits close to home because it mirrors my preferred PP&J: pineapple, pepperoni, and jalapeño. I may have to add it as a favorite in the Papa John's app. The Vodka Rigatoni with Meatballs arrived creamy and light on the Calabrian chili. I would have added Italian sausage for more punch. Still, JJ had only recently graduated from tri-color Bomb Pops to gelato, so the milder approach probably suited him. He cleared his plate, which settled the argument. Then things started to slide. Our server, whose identity I'll protect, was mostly professional and attentive but sometimes appeared overwhelmed. Trouble began with the Cheese & Salami Board. When he tried to upsell me to the large, I naturally asked which cheeses and salamis it included. "Um... salami from Italy, cheese, nuts, olives, and chocolate," he replied. I skipped the CliffsNotes and moved on. I wasn't spending nearly $40 on mystery salami, bar nuts, and another serving of burrata. Every dish up to that point had cleared the fence, so we expected another home run from the Chicken Parmesan. Unfortunately, it arrived soggy, as though someone had forgotten it under the broiler. Only the edges that escaped the cheese and sauce remained crispy. While my buddies mauled the accompanying Bucatini Alfredo, I ordered a Gluek's gluten-free Cream Ale. The first sip made me wince. JJ, who has watched me enjoy tablespoon-sized bumps of Sevruga caviar, immediately noticed. He took a sip and responded with a tongue-scraping motion. Not one to be left out, Matthieu sampled it and reported, "I see where all the discontinued pennies went: into making this beer." I flagged our server, who carried the beer to the bartender, who sniffed it, inspected its color, then poured a comparison taste of Metal High Life from the draft. He declared the Gluek palatable, and sent the verdict back through our server. I didn't care if the President of the American Brewers Guild had personally pinned a gold medal on it. The beer tasted like a fistful of loose change, and no diner should need expert testimony to prove that. Seeking a palate cleanser, we ordered the Spritz Tree, or flight, featuring Campari, Hugo, Midnight, Watermelon, and Tequi... "THAT'S FIVE!" the server snapped. We responded with three raised eyebrows. Fine. The deal included four spritzes for $50, not five for $40. Maybe I had developed late-onset dyslexia. Maybe the $2 Twins Pils from earlier had finally entered the lineup. After that frosty exchange, our server kept circling the table to ask whether we needed anything else. You couldn't have fit a toothpick among the plates and pours, so I interpreted the check-ins as a not-so-subtle suggestion that we continue our Minneapolis mayhem elsewhere. Waiter fatigue aside, Red Rabbit delivers playful food, inventive cocktails, and enough Twin Cities character to warrant a return visit. We left without conquering as much of the menu as I had hoped, but that gives me a solid reason to come back.
Red Rabbit brunch is 10/10 every single time! The mimosa flight is cute and fun to split with a group, or all for yourself, whatever you choose ;) You have to order the breakfast pizza otherwise you're doing it wrong. I am not typically an omelette girly but I ordered the florentine omelette and omg it was soooo good, especially with the hashbrowns. My friends had the piadina which also looked incredible.
One of my favorite spots for brunch in the city for any occasion! We had friends in from out of town and brought them here for brunch before a Twins game and they loved it! The service is always great and they have been so creative with fun drinks and menu items like mimosa and espresso martini towers and girl dinners. They have ample indoor, bar and patio seating for whatever your heart is feeling. We always always always get a breakfast pizza for the table. This is a MUST. I do miss that they don't give out an appetizer mini donut to start but glad to see they remained on the menu. I ordered a mimosa tower to share and some friends had coffees and a the screw up which were l tasty. The towers are so cute and fun. Some items we ordered and loved were the Florentine omelette (the fontina hash browns were the star), the wood fired pancake (wow one of best I've had), and the piadina which was the perfect amount of spice. Always a staple spot and never misses!
I've come to Minneapolis a few times for work now and Red Rabbit has been a place that I have to stop by at least once. There's a cozy, friendly environment and they have excellent food and drinks. During my latest visit to Minneapolis (June 2026), I arrived late on a Sunday night and stopped by, and was pleasantly surprised by their Girl Menu - $20 for a small caesar salad, rosemary fries, vodka pasta and a hugo spritz. Honestly, a fantastic deal to me! I did supplement with some fried cheese curds, although those ended up tasting too heavy/oily for my personal taste. I've enjoyed their other appetizers and pizzas with coworkers, but what I've come to love (and hate because I may have had one too many) are their House Martini - I love the presentation and the way you can spritz a bit more of whatever is in that spray bottle (I was told, but I can't remember exactly what it was- possibly just the vermouth for whatever amount you want?). There's even an extra bit they keep in a small carafe to top yourself off when you're done with the drink in your coupe! Absolutely favorite martini in recent memory. I think I will be scheduled to visit again next year and will definitely stop by again!
I'm picky, and so I can't give Red Rabbit five stars, but I liked it. My wife and I were scouting our new neighborhood before we move, and chose Red Rabbit for lunch. Interestingly, it's one block east of what has been our North Loop border, which has been 3rd Avenue. Why we placed an iron curtain on 3rd Avenue is beyond me. The bar was pleasant and fun on a weekday afternoon. My Espresso Martini was good, and the beer selection will make most people happy. I thought my Caesar salad was great; the taste came through without any need to deconstruct that many restaurants feel inclined to do. Our grinders were good, but there was too much stuff on them to call the sandwich a New England grinder; the name is more marketing than reality. Our server/bartender, Aiden, was engaging and fun. He's the kind of server every restaurant should have. We will return to Red Rabbit when we move to the North Loop in August. I can't wait.
Every now and then I take myself out for a little shopping, thrifting, eating, and drinking on a random weekday in the middle of the month. After a full day of thrifting, I decided it was time for dinner, and after passing this place for years, I finally decided to stop in. I was seated at a charming table for two. The interior had the vibe of a historic building, with brick, vaulted ceilings, and large windows. I ordered the Amatriciana from that day's specials menu along with the chocolate cherry martini. Typically I don't like sweet drinks, but this was fantastically balanced. As sweet as it was, it packed an equal punch. It felt decadent and sinfully delicious. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was well made, with bits of fatty, crispy pork adding a rich, well-developed flavor. I parked on one of the downtown streets and walked about a block to the restaurant.
Red Rabbit just doesn't miss! Me and my girl friends went for their $20 "girl dinner" and were so glad we checked it out! The girl dinner - on Sundays-Thursdays only after 8pm - consisted of a mini Caesar salad, vodka pasta, rosemary fries, and a Hugo spritz. Delish! The portions were about what you'd expect for a deal like this so you know we had to top it off with some dessert. The sticky toffee cake and tiramisu were group favorites! As always, the food is fantastic and the service was good. Parking is about what you'd expect in downtown Minneapolis (paid street or paid lots) but they do have a small parking lot in the back and if you're lucky you may get a spot.
Love the vibes here. Super romantic and sultry with how dark it is. Perfect for date night. It is loud and you are sat real close to other tables but it was still a great time. My friends and I did the girl dinner here and it was so good! We all thought it was the perfect amount of food, we loved that it's a set menu so we didn't have to make any decisions! Pasta, salad, fries and a drink for $20?! In Minneapolis! Great deal! Love that they have sparkling water as an option for no extra charge. We celebrated a birthday here too that night and appreciated the candle from the server. I really hate going to Minneapolis and paying for parking but it was worth it for this night! We just found some street metered parking. Such a fun time! Check it out if you are in the area.
GIRL DINNER IS A 10/10!!!!! $20 for a drink, fries, a salad, and some pasta?? YES PLEASE! Honestly I'd come here every day if I could. I hope they never stop girl dinner. We ended up ordering a couple more drinks and a dessert becuase the vibes were perfect and the deal was so good. Only available after 8 pm!! Service is always great here and the vibes are always perfect. I'm a big Red Rabbit fan!!!
Quick date night at Red Rabbit in downtown Minneapolis! We were lucky enough to snag a canceled reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival, despite the restaurant being bustling and busy. I wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor patio as the dining room was a bit loud and dim, but that seems to be part of the restaurant's modern rustic Italian aesthetic. As for the food and service, everything was top-notch. Our order was taken promptly and both our drinks and dishes arrived quickly without feeling rushed. I ordered the spirit-free Lavender Revolution, which leaned a little sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. The burrata was outstanding--light, refreshing, and incredible on the toasted bread. The calamari was equally impressive -- perfectly seasoned, crispy, and tender with every bite. For our entrée, we shared the Vodka Rigatoni with added shrimp and it was absolutely delicious--rich, fresh, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Overall Red Rabbit delivered a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. We can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu!
My wife and I went to the Red Rabbit our first night in Minneapolis for dinner. We arrived around 8PM on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. My wife had a salad with chicken and I had the vodka rigatoni with chicken. We both enjoyed our meals. The lack of stars on my end is portion size. The vibe and service were both very good. No bread with my meal and looking at my picture, do you feel that's worth $23.00? I enjoyed my meal but I'd take a gander elsewhere. Definitely a trendy restaurant.
Came here for a work lunch and got to try the shrimp pasta, burrata and beets & burrata. Honestly everything is great quality and the pasta was perfect texture and flavor. Typically I'm not the biggest fan of beets but even the beets & burrata were fresh! Service was a bit slow overall but very nice servers and the back patio vibe is always great especially on a nice summer day in Minnesota!

Thank you for the awesome review Andrew!!
We dined here on Sunday, August 31st, party of two, with an arrival at about 8:45pm. We had an excellent experience, and honestly -- this was probably our restaurant highlight of our trip to MSP. Red Rabbit is located in a very vibrant area of downtown, even on a holiday weekend, where Downtown is not the busiest of areas, this place seemed to be doing pretty well. We had a wonderful server this evening. Her name was Natalie, and she was very pleasant, made great recommendations and overall had a great attitude. We started with some drinks, and my first choice unfortunately was not available (Frose machine was down); however, I settled on another drink, which was also great. So, we ended up sharing both the Italian Chopped Salad and the PB&J Pizza. Both were excellent. The Chopped Salad was perfectly tossed and dressed with a great assortment of ingredients including salami, pepperoni, provolone, chickpeas, peppers and olives. The Pizza was Pepperoni, Bacon and Jalapeno. It was also good, crispy, baked to a golden brown, with a good amount of toppings. YUM! We each got our own dessert, although we tried both. We got the Sticky Toffee Cake and the Chocolate Budino. Although they were both good, the Sticky Toffee Cake was the winner. This was next level. We were once at a Hells Kitchen restaurant, (the Gordon Ramsey one, not the one in MSP) and this one gave that one a clear rival to watch out for. Overall, an excellent meal. We wish this restaurant much success in the future. read more

Yum! We recently saw an instagram reel showcasing Red Rabbit's brunch and knew we had to give it a try! We made reservations ahead of time but I think if you get there right at 10 when they open for brunch you would be able to get a table. It was getting busy when we left around 11. The ambiance of the restaurant was really cool. They had lots of cocktails, wines, and n/an options to choose from. We didn't order any beverages but the food absolutely blew us away! My fiancé said it may have been top 10 best things he's ever eaten! He had the piadia which is more of a breakfast burrito. I had the French toast, which was so rich and amazing! We also split the fontina hash which had this crispy outer shell and was warm and flavorful in the middle! We will 100% be back! read more

This was my second time at Red Rabbit but my first time at this location. The parking lot was full but we lucked out with a street spot right outside. We got seated right away and it seemed a lot of people were there before a twins game or to beat the heat since temps were in the 90s. We got the focaccia to share and then I ordered chicken Alfredo and my friend got the cavatelli. The focaccia was AMAZING, probably the best I've had. Their chicken Alfredo is also fantastic. It's hard because they have so many great options and everything is good so it's hard to pick! read more

From the moment you step into The Red Rabbit, you're wrapped in a warm, sophisticated vibe that blends upscale tavern charm with a cozy, unpretentious energy. It's the kind of place that feels like a neighborhood staple and a hidden gem all at once -- where the lighting is perfect, the playlist hits just right, and the food? Exceptional. The wood-fired entrees are clearly crafted by a chef who knows their way around bold flavor and subtle finesse. Every dish we tried struck the ideal balance of rustic comfort and modern culinary technique. Think elevated classics with a twist -- nothing fussy, everything refined. Our server, Natalie, was a standout in her own right: warm, welcoming, and impressively knowledgeable, not only about the menu but about the local scene. Her recommendations felt more like insights from a friend than a script from a training manual. Yes, the price tag leans toward the higher end -- but make no mistake, it's priced appropriately for the quality, care, and creativity behind every plate. The Red Rabbit doesn't just serve dinner; it offers an experience -- and one I can't wait to have again read more

after a long and incredible day of dress shopping around mpls... we officially found the one at @thewhiteroommpls to make the day even better, we ended it at @redrabbitmn with my girls. they fit us in right before the holiday rush and my soon-to-be MIL treated us to such a delicious meal. the espresso martini (per usual) was unforgettable, and the service was even better. the manager overheard my moms chatting in the bathroom and surprised us with celebratory champagne to close out the night. such a thoughtful gesture and something I'll never forget. red rabbit already had my heart, but now it's tied to one of my favorite lifelong memories. read more

Thank you very much for this fantastic review, Sandra! Love to hear…
This is the Red Cow's sister restaurant. It's more Italian based food options. There is also a location in St Paul. I've come here for the great brunch, amazing summer patio and good food. On the weekends and and occasions, like Mother's Day, there's an added menu for brunch. You really can't go wrong, but the homemade pasta and meat blends are what they do best. The kids even love their mac n cheese with beautifully rolled noodles. I recommend the butternut squash ravioli or the mastacholi. The apps are the same as Red Cow. However, there is a unique and delicious dessert to order, make it to go if you don't leave room in your belly to eat it! Sticky toffee cake- soaked in salted caramel sauce, with whipped cream, and candied orange zest!!! Give it a try! ZEPPOLIS read more

I had to try this spot out since I was torn between the Red Rabbit and Red Cow. Red Cow's great if you're craving burgers or classic American food, but I was in more of an Italian mood--so Red Rabbit it was. And honestly, I'm glad that I chose it. I got to try the 12-ounce Burning Bros American Lager, which is gluten-free. Super tasty--light, refreshing, and just really satisfying overall. For food, I started with the wood-grilled wings, and wow. I loved that they were grilled instead of fried--great flavor and a nice smoky touch. I also tried the spicy salami pizza, which was amazing. Just the right amount of heat and packed with flavor. And the cavatelli? That was great too very flavorful, and everything you'd want from pasta. The atmosphere was chill, the service was solid, and the food really hit the spot. Definitely a good call if you're craving pasta, pizza, or just a cozy Italian vibe with some great drinks. read more

We started with the cheese curds and artichoke dip. Both were good and dip was super cheesy. We then got the carbonara special, pepperoni pizza and chicken parmesan. Chicken parm was the stand out dish, especially with a little squeeze of lemon. Carbonara was a little gritty in texture, as if there was some parmesan cheese that wasn't emulsified in the sauce. We sat in a booth at the bar and even on a calm Sunday afternoon, the vibes were great. Scott was our server and he was great, he kept the refills coming without even having to ask. We got lucky with a spot in the small rear parking lot but there is plenty of street parking around too. read more

Red Rabbit has a warm, relaxing vibe and was tastefully decorated for the holiday season. The host seated us right away and gave us a great rundown of the happy hour options and 12 Cocktails of Christmas offerings. Our server Mark did a fabulous job from start to finish and we never wanted for anything. Our absolute favorite part of the meal was our appetizer of wood grilled oysters. The play of flavors was sooo satisfying that I was literally doing a shimmy in my chair, and my husband said he could have eaten a few more orders of them. For entrees we had the PB & J pizza (pineapple, bacon & jalapeño) and the chicken parmesan. The pizza was enjoyable but barely had any pineapple on it, and the crust under the toppings was super thin and soggy, whereas the edges were puffed up and crisped to perfection so it really showcased what was wrong/missing with the other areas of the crust. The chicken parm had decent flavor; the chicken was moist, but they didn't give you a spoon to use as a base for spinning the pasta on your fork and good luck getting thicker bucatini pasta to spin 'round your fork without one especially when the chicken breast was pinning the noodles down to the plate. For dessert we were sad to find out they did not have any sticky toffee cake, but the zeppoli were certainly tasty and a nice way to end the meal. read more

I can't believe this was my first time at Red Rabbit. The fact it's the same owners as Red Cow surprised me (although it shouldn't have). The espresso martini was delicious. Although I felt there should be coffee beans as garnish. The calamari was delicious. I especially loved the while dipping sauce. The chicken parmesan was delicious but I would have preferred it crispier. I have super high standards after Hendrix and Siena....heavenly. The noise level was not too bad. I could have a conversation without yelling. read more

I absolutely DELIGHTED in Red Rabbit!! And cannot believe it took me so many years to try them out. I decided to reserve a time during lunch (which highly recommend because they were busy) and couldn't have enjoyed my experience more. From the service, to the food, to the delicate space, everything was top notch. We started with a few mocktails, all of which were tasty! Although both were yummy, the granata pop was way less sweet and I could tell the soda water took over. Onto the food: I mean it when I tell you every single thing was good! The caesar salad and broccolini DIVINE! The smokiness/grill on the broccolini added a whole different element! The cavatelli pasta and spicy salami entrees also did not disappointment. All I've been able to think about is going back. Well done, Red Rabbit. Well done. read more

There truly is significance in simplicity. My husband and I visited Saturday evening for dinner, we found street parking about a block away and were seated inside right away. Our server was very sweet and didn't take too long in between check ins. The restaurant itself has great sources of natural light and tons of seating. However my only complaint is that there should be more than two bathroom stalls, it was very inconvenient to say the least. The food was delicious. Honestly, left me wanting more, especially the pesto genovese. The garlic bread cheese curds were definitely 10x better than regular cheese curds and the sunset sangria was also very delicious. This location is definitely somewhere we can see ourselves visiting again. read more

Been here a few times now and this place has always delivered. This is obviously recognizable with the long lines they've always got for those who are waiting to be seated. Had a really nice time at Red Rabbit recently during brunch. My group didn't order any brunch items but always love when places offer that. The vibes and our server were very pleasant, so no complaints there. We ordered pickle pizza, salmon piccata, and mostaccioli which were all tasty. I didn't add any meat to the mostaccioli but you can for an additional charge. It's an interesting mix of a red sauce and Alfredo with goat cheese. My cherry chocolate drink was amazing, so smooth with yummy chocolate garnish. Wish I remembered the name. It wasn't quite what I thought it would be from the description but was still great. I would recommend checking Red Rabbit out and I definitely plan to come back and try more items. read more

Finally made it after years of trying. When this place first opened we went and were quoted like 1 hour 45 minutes. Then twice we tried to go and it was closed for a private event and a staff party. It has been our white whale. But no longer! The place was still hopping on a frigid night that was below zero. Great ambiance sitting at the bar, and service was friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. Girlfriend had the mostaccioli and I had the cacio e Pepe. Both were really good. The cacio was creamy and cheesy. I wouldn't have minded more pepper in it. The mostaccioli was really good. It had goat cheese and some breadcrumbs. The food was attractive and tasted good. The beer selection wasn't bad, and my girlfriend had the sneaky rabbit mocktail, which was excellent although at $11 on the high end of what I'd expect for no alcohol drinks. I will say the portions were not overly large, which was fine, but if you're really hungry, you might need to add a protein or do an appetizer too. All in all it was nice food in a great vibrant location. read more

I came here while I was visiting from out of town. I had this place, particularly saved on my yelp, especially to come during their happy hour. I had noticed that they had oysters on their menu. Their deal was better than some others around because they gave four oysters instead of three oysters forthe same price. The drink was super good. It definitely was the drink of choice with everyone else at the bar with me. The oysters were super fresh and the dressings that you can put on top. Each one was amazing. I definitely will see myself stopping by again if I'm ever back in the state. read more

Found parking down the street at a meter and walked several blocks. The wait list during peak hours went by fast. During peak hours it gets loud, but not too loud so that you can't have a conversation. I was able to have a conversation just fine. The drink list is very lengthy. There is what I believe to be a coffee martini. It was unique. Spaghetti is what I was craving, so spaghettis is what I ordered. Jazzed it up with a little chili flakes and it turned out perfect. Do they take reservations?
No they do not, You;ll be told: no worries as they've seen as many as 25 people around the big size table.
How is the parking?
I don't believe there is a specific lot for Red Rabbit which can make it difficult to find parking depending on the day. There is a ton of street parking and lots that you will need to pay for that are close to the restaurant!
What is the dress code? Is dressing formal going to be out of place?
You can wear basically anything here and fit in. It's a very laid back environment.
Is there outdoor seating?
There is a small patio - I would estimate about 10 actual tables + 2 large sectional couches that are usually open seating. Most tables also have umbrellas so you can typically find shade if you want.
Is red rabbit a chain?
Thanks for the question! We are not a chain. We have the same owner as Red Cow (3 locations) but we have just the one Red Rabbit location!
