Excellent food and service described this restaurant. We split a Caesar Salad which was very good. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp Spaghetti and it was excellent, juicy shrimp and nice and spicy. The pasta was perfectly cooked. And, we also ordered the traditional spaghetti and meatballs. Their pasta was also cooked perfectly, the sauce perfectly prepared. In a nutshell: expensive prices, small portions, lacking flavor Everything was good, not great. The standout to me was the complimentary freshly baked warm bread they serve after you order your drinks. It would have benefitted from salted butter though. Moving onto our dinner portion, the burrata was yummy but it needed more balsamic and one more slice of grilled ciabatta. The Brussels could have been Caramelized a little longer as they were a little hard when biting into. They were also just sitting in a puddle of honey, so that was the main flavor I was tasting. The pasta dish was so tiny and only has 4 small pieces of chicken. It didn't really have a taste, other than cream. For dessert, we ordered the caramel sea salt custard, seasonal cobbler (peach), and the budino. The standout for me was the caramel sea salt custard, the salted caramel popcorn was a fun crunch amongst the creamy thick custard. My cappuccino was very small, but it was a nice touch to serve it with a little biscotti piece (I would have appreciated a longer piece though). If I'm in the area for a show at the Target Center again or any theaters, I would give them another shot. I would not drive from the suburbs for this though. read more

They were able to accommodate a last minute reservation as the restaurant across the street filed for bankruptcy over the weekend. However we had to split a group of 12 over 2 tables which was unfortunate. My table ordered the calamari and margarita pizza to start. Both were tasted however the pizza crust was thin but not crispy as it flopped over and dropped half of my cheese and tomato topping. As main I ordered the herb linguine with braised lamb. Overall very tasty and the pasta was cooked just a tad before al dente but still good. Service was impeccable and definitely a place to go to again. Visited 7/16/26. Probably like a 3.5/5 for this occasion. Hadn't been back to zelo since its reopening so was hyped to try it once again. We made a reservation in advance prior to wicked and it was pretty popping. Our waiter was nice-he didn't have any major recommendations but that's not a huge deal for me! Big fan of bread coming out before the meal so bonus points for that. My aunt got the salmon special, my cousin a risotto, and I got the linguini primavera (veg). The salmon special was definitely our favorite by the risotto and linguini weren't our faves. Based on this meal I wouldn't prioritize coming again but it is a beautiful spot and I would be down to try their pizzas still! read more

Came back for apps and everything was significantly more expensive, the smallest appetizers were $23-$24, definitely not worth the price and you don't get enough equity from the food taste. Appetizers were all right. We got the meatballs, the prosciutto di parma, and crab cakes. The crab cakes were a little undercooked, fell apart when you put a fork into them, needed a little extra something or more time in the pan/oven. It's good every time we go! The food is so consistent, the service is attentive and knowledgeable. It's the little things that make it great- bringing sharing plates without being asked, replacing dirty silverware between different dishes, and putting your food into a box for you (so you don't make a mess on the table). I love their Ciao Baby salad, and you can add protein to it (I usually opt for salmon, but have also done chicken). Their salads also come in two sizes, a lunch and an entree, depending on how you are feeling. their fish is always great, so it's worth listening to their specials. Appetizers can easily be shared, and warm brad is an option for the table. The main dining room is usually busy (and cold- bring a sweater) during the lunch rush, but then quiets down. Service was great from the moment we walked in, warm and welcoming. The seating at our table was comfortable, with a circular booth and a large comfortable chair for our party of 5. I ordered the seafood linguini and it was was packed with seafood - shrimp, fish, mussels and scallops! The scallops were my favorite part but the fish was also tender and not overcooked. Only the mussels seemed overcooked and were tiny. The pasta was al dente and portion size was hearty. The complimentary bread was very good, as was the crème brûlée that was filled with vanilla beans. This place was fun. I was staying in downtown Minneapolis so I have no comments on parking, but i walked in and sat right at the bar. The bartender (forgot her name) was super cute and bubbly- very hospitable and gave good suggestions on the menu. I started with ginger spritzer mocktail and the scallops. They were butter knife tender and perfectly cooked. The crispy prosciutto on top added both salt and pepper to the seafood. The dressed arugula salad in the middle paired well with the scallops. Complimentary bread and whipped butter- the bread was fresh, soft, and warm. Then I grabbed the meatballs (3) and added more cheese and fresh ground pepper when they arrived. The meatballs could have beenba little more done for me, or at least more seared on the outside, but I definitely still enjoyed them. Immaculate service and decor. Food is to die for. I got the scallops to start, the lamb with GF pappardelle for my main and the budino for dessert. Everything had so much flavor. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the small arugula salad they came with added a lot of freshness while the prosciutto added some crunch. The pasta came out piping hot and the lamb was incredibly tender. I did need to add some salt but that was a negligible thing. Had a group of 25 people, they told us we would have a separate room which turned out to be an area with separate tables and booths for everybody and not private at all. And they charged us $300 to "reserve "that space so we spent $4000 for 25 people and they still charged us a room fee. They also had a minimum charge and even though we ordered dinner drinks appetizers we still didn't meet that minimum charge so they tacked on an extra $700. They bring out baskets of crispy warm bread which was delicious! Don't be afraid to ask for seconds of the bread. The food was incredible. I had the Seabass and it was the best Seabass I have had in a long time. Blackened and crispy on the edges. The flavor was amazing. I asked to replace one of the sides of potatoes with asparagus. There was a slight charge for the switch but worth the $3. They have an amazing wine selection. I Love Austin Hope cab. Also ordered a French 75. Request with Champagne versus Prosecco. If you use their valet parking is free. We didn't know that and parked in the parking garage and it was about $5. Zelo is fine, overall average. We've come here twice and seems that the server we had our first experience (wonderful, she was fantastic) had been promoted by our second visit. From the first visit we discerned that their appetizers were good (tuna, crab cakes), and the entrees (steak and a fish special not featured) were a pass. The second visit, the appetizers also weren't up to snuf. The crostini is too soft, as is the calamari. The mozzarella is fine but ends up just being sauce, cheese and bread. read more
