My mom loves this place so we go often. I got the number 3 and it was delicious! The crispy chip in the bread basket is to die for. I would say I'd love some balsamic vinegar for it. Service is great and very fast. They also have a really good date night special. I've had the number 14 before and it was so delicious I almost got it again but I love trying new things.
Broders' Pasta Bar proves that simple ingredients can make an unforgettable dish. The Lemon Risotto is pure comfort with a fresh twist. Creamy Arborio rice is finished with bright lemon, tender chicken, and a generous snowfall of freshly grated Parmesan that melts into every bite. It's rich without feeling heavy, and the citrus keeps the flavors balanced from start to finish. Bōrder's focuses on quality over flash, and it shows. The pasta is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed, and every dish feels thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for something beyond the usual Alfredo or marinara, the Lemon Risotto is absolutely worth ordering. It's the kind of dish you'll find yourself craving again.
It's taken me 29 years to finally end up dining here. I grew up driving past this place multiple times a week, but always came up with some excuse why not to go. Usually it was because they don't take reservations and the wait time is super long. We ended up giving it a try on a whim on a weeknight and so glad we did! We were able to enjoy a late dinner on the patio. Service was wonderful and the bread basket is a nice start. Ordered the Caesar to split and the artichoke (a new favorite thing to order out). We also ordered the gnocchi to split. It was good, but very very salty. We had enough to take home for leftovers. I will be coming back soon, lots more pastas to try!
My daughter and I were hungry for pasta, salad tonight and an outdoor patio setting. I've lived in the area but never sat patio side at Broders' and thought tonight might be the night. If was just perfect. James M provided wonderful service. My adult daughter and I enjoyed the artichoke app, Caesar salad, and gnocchi entree. Oof! All good and the relaxing patio music made for a nice dinner.
I came here with a group of friends and absolutely loved this place! Spoiler: I will be back! There is free street parking and a limited free parking lot. The ambiance here feels like a small Italian place! We were lucky enough to sit out on the patio! They have heaters out there for when it may be a touch too cold as well. Our waitress was sweet but sooooo sloooow. It took almost an hour for us to put in our orders for the pasta dishes. Because of that, I am dropping a star. The food: others in our group got the olives which were very tasty! They do still have the pits, so be careful! The complimentary bread was good! Especially in the olive oil! Very tasty!! I had the fettuccine Alfredo and it was simple and perfect! I absolutely loved it! Everyone in our party seemed so really enjoying their dish! The pasta here is just delicious! We all got a dessert as well and everyone thought theirs was amazing! We got the flourless chocolate cake and it was rich and Devine! I would happily tell people to order that! Don't skip on the desserts here!
Came here for a girls night and it was perfect. They don't take reservations, so we waited about 30 minutes for a table on a Thursday, but it worked out great since we were able to walk around and check out the nearby shops. Rocky was our server and was super friendly. He helped us pick out a wine to split and gave great recommendations on pasta dishes based on what we liked. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, which had a subtle hint of lemon that I surprisingly loved. My friend got the pesto pasta and really enjoyed it as well. I'm already planning to come back in the summer to enjoy the patio!
As a homemade pasta lover, Broaders' Pasta Bar is it! We visited on a Saturday night so we knew knew there would be a wait. Note, they do NOT take reservations so it's first come, first serve. Our original wait time was around 1 hour but it ended up only being 35 minutes. Parking is quite limited but due to eating later in the evening, we were able to get a parking spot in their lot. Broaders' has both patio and indoor seating. Being the middle of winter, we sat inside. It's not an overly large restaurant so be prepared to wait during busier meal times (like dinner on the weekends). Our waitress was very nice, answered our questions, and helped us select the perfect wine. Shortly after ordering our wine, they brought out a complimentary bread basket which was delicious! We asked for butter and more of the foccaccia because it was SO good. For our mains, we got the Greek Salad, Ravioli Di Zucca, and Spaghetti Con Polpette. WOW! I don't have a single complaint. The greek salad was flavorful with all the mixed vegetables and dressed perfectly. The Ravioli Di Zucca was buttery and delicious and the Spaghetti Con Polpette was probably the best spaghetti and meatballs we've ever had. Somehow we had room for dessert and opted for the Tiramisu. It was good, not great. I didn't love that it was cut in the shape of a pie vs. a square -- Something about that threw me off. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend going to Broaders' Pasta Bar! You won't regret it!
Delicious first time at Broders. Intended to go for Restaurant Week, but went off the regular menu instead! The wait was 1hr45mins so we hung out at the fire pits for a bit and then went across the street to for a delicious spicy tamarind margarita. Back to Broders just in time to be seated. The meal, wine, and service were out of this world. Broders has been a bucket list item for almost 10 years! So glad to have finally made it to this Twin Cities institution. The brussels were roasted and fantastic. I had the Bucatini con Pancetta e Rucola. Al dente pasta perfectly melded with pancetta, herb & garlic mascarpone, lightly wilted arugula, sage, and crispy buttery breadcrumbs and of course parmigiano reggiano.
What a fun place to celebrate with my gals. This is such a moody and romantic restuarant... from the wine bar at the start to the dark walls surrounding. They do not take reservations, so we prepared to wait for our group of 4, but it only took around 20ish minutes for a 6pm Thursday table- not too bad. Immediately we were served fresh bread and brought our drinks. Our server Rocky was friendly and helped us make the best choice for both those wines and the pasta. We enjoyed a variety of dishes- of which I got the pesto, it was amazing. I was a little hesistant because the menu states "potatoes and green beans" but they're small and well done that they really add to the dish. My friend got the original Fettucine Alfredo, which has a strong lemon taste- not for me- but she loved it! Overall, im really excited to come back on a date, and try even more dishes from this wonderful place.
We came to Broders for their After 8 dinner menu for a little date night. We ate outside on the patio and it was so nice, cozy and felt like we were on vacation. Our service was great and the food came out fast and everything was made fresh, we were very impressed! We started with Fennel & Citrus Marinated Olives & Rosemary Toasted Almonds and the Caesar salad. We got the sauv blac to share. We also got LINGUINE AL PESTO GENOVESE which was very interesting. I've never had pasta with potatoes and green beans in it. The SPAGHETTI CARBONARA was really great- so fresh and yummy! It was a cute and nice little date night spot!
Broders is a neighborhood staple, located at Penn and 50th in south Minneapolis for a very long time. It pains me to say that our recent experience there was disappointing on several levels. The dining room is cold, cramped, and desperately needs updating. Ordering is done at the counter, which is partly blocked by shelving and displays, making it difficult to form a line and know who's next in line to be served. Our food arrived in dribs and drabs. Part of us received their entrees in about 10 minutes, but after 15 minutes, others were still waiting. We approached the counterperson to ask when our food would arrive, and they told us it was rung up as a "to-go" order--despite being given a stanchion with a number to place on our table. Ten minutes later, after most had finished eating, our food finally arrived. While the portions were generous, the plates for the dinner salads were too small. The bread was stacked on top of our food, making it challenging to fork the food without the bread falling onto the table or floor. Bending down to reach the floor in such a cramped space was difficult, which should never be necessary. The chicken parm was eaten quickly. The tomato basil soup was tasty. The Greek (yes, Greek) salad was only average. The Emilia Salad, with greens, prosciutto, onion, pine nuts, and balsamic dressing, was good. Surprisingly, the pizza was considered "awful," likely sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Overall, even though some dishes were excellent, the experience was unpleasant. We're not sure if we'll return.

Server was friendly, a bit crowded at the tables. For the food, it was good, you can tell it's fresh pasta but wasn't something I was dying to come back for, the bread they serve is just basic with some crackers. The price for the food does not match, it was far more expensive than what I felt we were getting. Overall, it was fine but we aren't rushing to come back and would definitely not wait for the food in the line.
We loved this meal at Broders! We sat at the bar (actually the hub of the restaurant) and I was surprised that it was comfortable, not crowded, and had a great view of the open kitchen. The service was pleasant, and efficient. My wife had the Fettuccine Alla Bolenaise, which has had before and loved it as much as before. I tried the Fettuccine con pollo ciliegie, which is pasta with chicken, cherries, balsamic vinegar, port wine, herb and garlic mascarponi, and Parmigiano Reggiano. Unlike in last review, the Fettuccine was cooked perfectly. It had a chew, but was not overly firm; a hard trick to pull off! The cherries added a sweetness and flavor that was subtle and added to the complexity. Broder's no longer allows calling ahead or reservations, so I recommend coming off-peek, assuming they ever have off-peek!
Finally, I got to check out Broder's Pasta Bar and it was so worth Our server was nice, attentive, and gave great recommendations. I got the Spaghetti Al Limone with shrimp and it was so tasty. It had an amazing balance of citrus that didn't overpower the rest of the plate. We also sat outside and it was lovely. There were ceiling fans to help keep us cool. It was great to see lots of families there too. You know the restaurant really takes pride in being family friendly. Broder's is located in the Fulton neighborhood. They have their own parking lot although it does fill up. Otherwise, there is street parking nearby, especially as you get into the residential areas. They are a walk-in only restaurant, and if you're going during dinner hours, there is usually a wait. You can a text when it is your turn to be seated, and you are able to wander the neighborhood during the wait. It is close to Lake Harriet, so if you're looking for a way to kill time, you can walk towards the lake and sit on one of the benches! Once you're at Broder's, you're in for a treat! It is a sit-down restaurant that feels on the nicer end of casual. It'd be a good date night spot, but also is good for gathering with friends and family. They have plenty of good options, including some dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free items on their menu which is clearly labeled. The service is always friendly, and they're always attentive, even when it gets busy! They start you off with some free breads, and there is olive oil at the table which you can use with the bread. They have a good selection of wines, and some beer and non alcoholic beverages. If you like a sweet wine that tastes mostly like juice, I highly recommend their moscato d'asti! As for their food, they have so many good pastas, you can't really go wrong. They are able to accommodate some modifications! I think in the past, I've subbed for another pasta shape. I recently also ordered the Tagliarini di Locanda di Lupo without Proscuitto to be vegetarian-friendly! It was very cheesy and creamy, and truffle-forward, as expected! I had their Spaghetti Al Limone, which was nice and buttery and still felt light and fresh with the basil and lemon. Caesar salad, risotto, Affogato, snowstorm. This was such a wonderful evening at Breaux's. We stopped in here on one of the snowstorm nights and enjoyed a couple bottles of wine and some delicious food. Anything you order here is never a mess, because everything is amazing. I am gluten-free and the risotto was outstanding. We did their date night special so we got two entrées, salad and wine. I ended with an avocado because what sounds better than ice cream and espresso and a snowstorm. It's so cute and Bro's, not a lot of tables which makes it very intimate and nice. We had a lovely time and will be back for more seasonal risotto. read more

Revisited after about 10 yrs or so and I don't know why I don't come more often !!! Had the best time at their outdoor pasta bar, everything from food , wine and service was top notch The food they serve is yummy , we got 2 entree pastas which reminded me of being back in Italy Fresh homemade ingredients- delicious flavor, seasoning on point Wine is excellent- maybe a tad bit too expensive The profiteroles dessert could use more chocolate sauce but I'm definitely going back for their special date night specials after 8pm!!! Per usual, Broder's Pasta Bar delivers! My brother who lives out of state has always wanted to eat here. A table of 8 and no chance for reservations can make it a bit difficult. We showed up for an early dinner and lo and behold we were all able to sit together. The hosts were fantastic and so were the servers. My fave part of this place is the homemade pastas, always cooked to perfection. This place isn't fancy but has such a wonderful friendly, neighborhood feel. We will always be back!! Tip: your entire party needs to be present before they'll seat you. read more

Started out with a nice dish of various breads with olive oil. For appetizers got Barbabietole It had red and yellow beets, Gorgonzola, candied walnuts honey vinaigrette and Balsamic pears. Very good. Then got the Burrata, came with Arugula, fennel, chard Asparagus, snap peas, pistachios, lemon pistachios vinaigrette and tossed bread. Also very fresh and tasty. Main dish rigatoni with spicy sausage, tomato, bell peppers, cheese. I split it the main dish. Everything was amazing. Plenty of food and bread. Service was excellent read more
One of the best Italian restaurants in Minneapolis. Great food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Can't miss! If I had one complaint, it would be the somewhat small wine list (including the fact they were sold out of several on an already small list). For food specifically, the tagliarini is a must! Fantastic dish with a unique crisp texture and packed with fresh lemony flavor. It's unlike any pasta dish I've had and an absolute standout! read more
Delicious, hot, house made pasta! What more can you want? The burrata salad was great to start, but the star was definitely the house made fettuccine for me. Boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meat balls which was also really good. It's a small restaurant that does not take reservations so plan accordingly for long wait times - but so worth it! read more

Absolutely love going to this restaurant! Pasta is amazing and absolutely delicious. Everything I've tried has been good and felt nostalgic to time in Italy-- especially this truffle! We went here to celebrate our engagement after coming home to MN and got this delicious pumpkin cheesecake. Vibes are always amazing when we go-- love that you can drink wine while waiting to get seated. Ambience is awesome, the place is small but cozy! read more
Wonderful place that usually knocks their food out of the park. Super difficult to get seated during the winter as they don't take reservations and half of their seating is outside patio. So come early if you want to be seated and not wait over an hour! Place partially feels like an authentic Italian place but also quite Americanized. Service has always been very kind! read more
The husband & I came here for our 8 year Anniversary (they didn't really do anything extra for that, even though we mentioned it, which was kind of disappointing). They didn't really make us feel warm & fuzzy, like we were expecting and have experienced celebrating at other restaurants. We were seated at the bar, which was fine, but we would have preferred a little more intimate spot, considering we were trying to have a romantic dinner together to celebrate. We were not given the option to where we would like to be seated. The couple seated next to us were very close & very loud so definitely wasn't the dinner we were expecting to have. After ordering beverages we were given bread/crackers with oil. We each ordered a Beverage, the Large Caesar salad (to share) & Pasta. We both really LOVED the Drinks & Caesar salad. My pasta (FETTUCCINE ALLA BOLOGNESE) had great flavor but was a very small portion for the price charged. The hubby was not impressed with his (RIGATONI CON SALSICCE) flavor wise at all but he isn't one to complain, to each their own. He said he really liked mine and wish he would have ordered it instead. To be honest, we probably won't be coming back and feel we would have had a better time celebrating somewhere else. read more
For those wanting to try Broder's but afraid of the price, I highly recommend making a reservation during one of the Restaurants Weeks that happen throughout the year! During my February 2025 trip, my friend and I enjoyed their 3-course meal for $40 each (excludes drinks). For starters, their Caesar salad was underwhelming and basic, a bit over-saturated with dressing. It was saved with the complimentary bread basket, a good focaccia saves everything. I tried their Fettuccine Con Manzo (Egg Pasta, Beef Tenderloin, Oyster Mushrooms, Tomato, Leeks, Herb & Garlic Mascarpone, Basil) as my main dish, but wished I had ordered my friend's choice; Tagliarini di Locanda di Lupo (Egg Yolk Pasta, Prosciutto di Parma, Truffle Cream). The beef was cooked perfectly, but the rest was mediocre. I love the food at Broders! They don't take reservations which drives me nuts so be prepared to wait.... For awhile. We came at 5pm and waited over an hour for a table so if it's a weekend come early or be prepared to not get seated immediately. The hard part is there's minimal space to wait so you'll stand in the entryway, however, you can get a glass of wine while you wait for a table. They have small plates, various specialty and classic pastas, and a decent wine list. They also did restaurant week recently which was a great deal ($35 for 3 plates) although with how busy this place is they don't need to participate to bring in traffic! The burrata or arancini are always my favorites for appetizers. I get their Tagliorini pasta (#18) for my entree and it is fabulous. Truffle cream sauce and I sub for beef and a vegetable vs the prosciutto. Great, rich flavor and filling! I would normally rate 5 stars, however, the wait + slow service this visit knocked down one. Came here for a late dinner. Tried their crispy pancetta with fettuccine and a truffled cream sauce. So good!!!! Also had their braised short rib with pappardelle after the bartenders recommendation and it was so yummy. Had their Peach Bellini cheesecake and it was a perfect lite dessert! Visited 1/10/25. Back at Broders for another delightful meal. Saturday wait at Broders may be long but every experience at broders is a great one. Hunker down and walk around beforehand and your table will be ready before you know it. We got seated at the bar after a wait and each got a glass of red. There was one Pinot Nero (some name similar to that?) red wine on the menu previously that wasn't on it tonight but we still had a decent glass of Cab. I got the #16 linguine with crab and this was so well balanced and flavorful. The flavor of the crab bursts in your mouth so if you like crab you should definitely get this. My sister got the pasta with mushrooms special and my mom got her fave the lemon chicken risotto. You can't go wrong at Broders. read more

The food here was fantastic! The pasta was very fresh and unique. Portions were large and filling. A variety of breads were served. The tiramisu was unique- slightly more cake like than a traditional tiramisu. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and well decorated with upscale vibes. It was lunchtime, doors open. Excited to finally eat AT the restaurant. I have had a dear friend bring me and my family a ton of yummy food from Broders when I was ill and unable to cook. That was delicious. Thats why I was SO excited to go TO the restaurant! However my lunch was disappointing. Cesar salad, was wet lettuce and tasteless . I basically paid for wet lettuce, it could not be classified as a Cesar salad. There was NO Cesar dressing. Broders' Pasta Bar is a South Minneapolis classic and offers a bountiful selection of fresh house made pasta and risottos. Several vegetarian options, traditional meat-heavy Italian dishes, and lighter dishes are available, along with an excellent selection of Italian red wines - I ignore white. The server started with the bread basket, which is beautiful and enough to feed me for the night! The music is a combination of Italian, French, Jazz, and sweet American crooners. Very tasteful and happy. I ordered the Stringozzi Primavera, with fennel, asparagus and other fresh vegetables. The server knew I was interested in a little heat so the kitchen added something spicy for me. It was fresh and amazing! Prices for entrees range from $20-$28. Well worth the price for traveling to Italy for the evening. The atmosphere is relaxing, with vines climbing on the windows, fresh flowers, and polite, quiet conversation. I sat at the bar. My server was knowledgeable and friendly, but not too talkative, which is perfect for me. Is the linguine made fresh at Broder's Pasta Bar? Just ate there and I would guess not.
Since it is not listed in the menu as either "Egg" or "Eggless", I believe that means its dried pasta. To be sure, you'd have to call them directly.
