I've ordered from here in the past and absolutely loved it and decided to come back now that it's reopened and under new management! My partner picked up the pizzas and chatted with the new owners and said they're very kind. I was really hoping this would be close to what I use to get here but it didn't live up to my expectations. I've always gotten the margarita pizza and loved how crisp and light it was. This time around it was disappointing. The crust didn't have that crunchy and chewy leopard colored edge that most wood fired pizzas have. The taste just wasn't there, I'm not sure what it was missing but it seemed quite greasy and I couldn't get past that. We also ordered the sharks truffle mac n cheese pizza and the flavor was good but a bit heavy and didn't match the online photo. The crust again just wasn't what we were expecting. It's pretty flat and chewy. With it being newly opened I'm hoping things will change up and I can try again another time! read more

Pizza shark opened again in Sept 2024! They are probably still trying to get the place up and running, because the pizzas aren't quite as good as they used to be. Both pizzas I ordered were overcooked - hard and crunchy. But I'm sure they'll be better after they have more time! read more

We were really craving pizza to go with our beers at home on our Sat night in but wasn't sure if ordering via DoorDash would be worth it- because you know sometimes pizza doesn't travel well, at least this style pizza IMO. We were so close to not ordering but I'm so glad we did! The pizzas were so good and definitely hit the spot! I'm a huge fan of wood fire or thin crust pizza. Pizza Shark is a casual spot that has one vegan pizza and even offers mockmeats! I got the vegan sausage and pepperoni pizza ($16) and enjoyed it. The sausage and pepperoni both tasted great (I think the pepperoni was local from Herbivorous Butcher, but I'm not 100% certain); the vegan cheese was a food service (non-retail) brand called Plantings (maybe made by Violife?) which had a dry starchiness but still tasted and melted pretty well. I would have preferred Herbivorous Butcher, Violife or Follow Your Heart for the cheese, but theirs was fine. The crust was light and nicely done. I wish they put more sauce on the pie, though. That was the one issue. Other than that, the service was really friendly and the price reasonable for the quality of the food. If Pizza Shark added a vegan dessert (how about tiramisu or cheesecake?) and a vegan fried chicken sandwich, I'd be by more often. If you're looking for other good vegan pizza options in the area, Pizza Luce and Fire & Nice Alehouse (both on Lyndale) are your other choices. read more

The wait seemed longer than the 15-20 minutes we were told. Maybe we were hungry. Maybe it was really long. I think it was really long. There were quite a few to-go (door-dash type) pick-ups during our wait. But the pizza was great!!! After visiting Como Zoo in St Paul the next day, our daughter was hungry for pizza, and suggested Pizza Shark. Since the pizza was good, and that's what she wanted PLUS with Sebastian Joe's being down the street, we returned to Pizza Shark. We received the pizza in a reasonable time for pizza. I finally stopped at this new place last night on my way home from work. Wow the ambiance inside was incredible and inviting. I was greeted by 2 lovely young ladies immediately upon arrival. I felt welcomed and appreciated. I had a zillion questions about the menu and food choices and they patiently walked me through the menu and their favorites I ordered the BBQ brisket pizza and 6 wings plus an indulgent piece of home made carrot cake. WOW... why have I not heard of this place before? The pizza was amazing. But the wings were OMG great. 6 giant whole wings for under $14 is unheard-of these days. But the biggest surprise of all was the carrot cake, I literally licked the container clean I definitely will go back and I highly recommend that anyone looking for old fashioned hospitality and incredible food should visit this establishment 100000 stars read more

We were staying in a hotel in downtown and were looking for a pizzeria where it had good reviews and didn't cost an arm and a leg to park. We're so happy to find Pizza Shark. Free parking lot and on-street parking. Freshly renovated a couple of years ago. Wood fired pizza. Wine and beer. Friendly service. All the boxes were checked. It was so good that we went back for the second night in a row. They do a lot of DoorDash pickups, but don't miss out and go there on your own. read more

Great food; just wanted to give a shout-out to an employee who stood up to their manager who wasn't obeying the mask mandate in town. It's important to me that leadership does the right thing (hence the less than 5-star review) but if the people interfacing with the customers are principled, good people it says a lot about the business. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, nothing difficult but enough to know if the pizza place is worth its salt. I was very pleasantly surprised. It was wood fire cooked, you could taste the little bit of smokiness to it. The ingredients were "real" and well made, small thick cut pepperoni and real cheese. It sounds simple but pizza places just don't do it right anymore they take too many short cuts. Pizza Shark didn't take any short cuts with my pizza it was spectacular. I have to admit that my expectations were low, but the pizzas we had were awesome. I had the mexican chicken tinga, which had a slight sweet taste that I couldn't quite figure out, but I would definitely get it again given how plentiful and good the toppings were. The crust was also solid, although it could have gone a minute or so more--I'm guessing they pulled it on the early side since we had been waiting a bit. It's covered in fresh chunks of avocado, a ton of meat, and had good spice from jalapenos. The real winner though was the dessert pizza we got. The nutella pizza comes COVERED in fresh fruit and the perfect amount of nutella. We destroyed that, and still had slices for breakfast the next day. If they add a salad to the menu that is as fresh and quality as the pizzas, I'll definitely be a regular. read more

Not very good. Soggy pizza, taste is not good. Too expensive for what you get. Got the garlic breadsticks and you get 3 tiny little pieces for $3. Should be a 1.50 at most. We had the most amazing experience here for a family event and the food was delicious, the restaurant space was accommodating, and the staff are outstanding.
