I had stopped going to The Copperfield because the service was not the greatest. I returned yesterday for breakfast with a friend who had never been. Well here's how it went: We ordered the food came and the waitress didn't stop by once to see how our meal was. My eggs were runny and I had to get her attention in order to ask her to please get me eggs over medium. I received the eggs and she didn't come to the table to follow up. I needed water and I had to call to another waitress and asked her if she could get me water. The young lady was polite however not following up with the customer is not a good thing. Update 12/29: still 5-stars. Hurricane shrimp are not to be missed. Service has anyways been spot on. The red sangria is a favorite, not too sweet and goes down easy. Glasses are reasonable priced at $9. Chicken and wild rice soup is always hot and delicious. Chicken Marsala is also highly recommended. Ordered to go to bring home after our meal and it was well packaged and still warm upon arrival. Reservations recommended. Lot can get full during peak times but there is overflow. Location is on the ground floor of the 55+ apartment complex. 11/25: Dined here for dinner recently and they won me over. The sangria is one of the best I've had. Chicken with wild rice soup is also delicious. Every entree ordered at our table was thoroughly enjoyed and the service was spot on. This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! It was much bigger than it looked from the outside - very modern and beautiful as well. Service was pretty quick on a weekday morning. Didn't need a reservation and got seated right away. I loved everything we ordered - Mexican Hash (without chorizo), apple pancakes, and fruit crepes. We also got hash browns on the side but later realized we forgot that the Mexican Hash already has hash browns! (Sleep deprived mom brain definitely missed that). Regardless, everything was sooo tasty! The pancakes and Mexican Hash were my favorite! We got the Hash with a biscuit and it had so much flavor and was so unique. Crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. Everything had so much flavor. Just loved it. My first visit here won't be my last. What I wanted was a simple Eggs Benedict for brunch in the middle of some Sunday errands. Although the patio was full when I arrived, there were enough tables inside to find me a spot even though I was unannounced during peak hours. It's a large place that's clean and well-staffed. My server was very conscious of wait times; she warned me that the kitchen might be a little slow. But they weren't; my order of Eggs Benedict with hash browns got to me quickly. And the eggs were good; I particulalry liked the ham, which was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of it. I didn't like the hash browns very much, I must say. But is that maybe because hash browns are honestly usually kind of super dumb? Like, here is some leftover residue from the sides of the grill, we put it on a plate so that you can buy it and eat it. Sorry, tangent, my point is that there was nothing particularly good about those hash browns. But it's a nice suburban restaurant with a bar, and also with a compelling coffee/bakery counter where they even sell macarons. It looks like you can think of them as just a quick-stop coffee shop, so keep that in mind. Seems like there are good reasons for you to check them out, and I'll definitely return. read more

I was underwhelmed by my brunch experience at The Copperfield. Despite a reservation, the host was unable to help me find my group. The service was exceptionally slow, with minimal check ins and a long wait time from finishing to paying the bill. The food itself was good. A delightful spot for brunch! The restaurant itself was way larger than I thought it would be, a nice sized bar, plenty of seats for large and small groups as well as a great outdoor patio. I was happy when the server told me I could order a single pancake so I did that as well as the eggs Benedict. The ham on the eggs Benedict was a bit fatty which is why I knocked off a star. The pancake came with a sweet cinnamon butter, which was good, but I personally would've preferred plain butter since it leaned a little sweet for me. Weekday breakfast with my boyfriend. This place is fairly close to where I live and it's been on my list for a while. I actually was originally planning to go to it for dinner but we were looking for a breakfast spot and this turned up on my list!! We sat outside and it was nice and sunny. For those who get hot easily it might be better to sit inside on super sunny days because the patio did get toasty while we sat and enjoyed our meal, but we liked it. We pop in frequently for brunch and lunch! Great spot off Dodd. Parking is very busy during peak hours so a heads up if you're heading over. The patio is very cute and dog friendly which is a big bonus for us. The menu is fresh, exciting and yummy. Their coffee however was atrocious. Our go to this restaurant when we return from Florida. Christian is one of the best service persons, bar tenders in the industry. He is a joy to see when we walk in the door. The food is always excellent and consistent. Service is great. I laughed when I read the reviewer, MR. who wrote two reviews in a week about the service. Then writes another in 2026 about "stop going" to the restaurants. I always read the reviews of restaurants I frequent, when I see three poor reviews about a restaurant from the same person I just disregard them. Went here for a business lunch, and was glad I had made a reservation so we were seated at a nice booth in the center of the restaurant. This place is lovely inside - a large dining room with high ceilings and lots of natural light pouring in. Our server was polite and able to tell us about some of the favorites items on the breakfast and lunch menu. Been here a few times for brunch with friends and family. The food is amazing and well worth the price. We've always had great service as well. I dont know if its just the timing but the rssturant is always packed for brunch, but we've never been here for lunch or dinner to compare experiences. Despite the wait, its always well worth it. We have never made reservations and have only come on Sunday mornings. The wait is never terrible. Maybe 10-15 minutes. An update to the original review as on Oct 17th, almost six weeks after I contacted them, their manager "reached out" to both apologize and "own it". According to their GM, an investigation was made to see what failed. He admitted in the phone call that the facts were true, and he pledged that this confluence of problems shouldn't happen again. A plea to return is under consideration. The initial experience wouldn't otherwise motivate us to do so. The original review is here: Disappointing in several areas. Party of four adults+two behaved children on Labor Day weekend Saturday. Not crowded when we arrived. Coffee, needed, eventually arrived and it was good. The rest was meh and worse. First: Southwest Eggs Benedict. Sounds great on the menu, a bowl breakfast with poached eggs, hollandaise, and SW veggies. Except... the eggs were overdone, more like sunnyside-down. Judged as "Mmmm....ooook". This would be a theme. Two of us ordered berry scones. They arrived early, hot out of the oven, but.... they weren't scones, they were berry muffins, and not too tasty at that. Slowly.... ordered items started to be delivered. Not all at once, creating the conundrum of Do We Eat Now? or wait until all has arrived. My order was for "The Usual Lite" with options. One of the options was an extra egg (they must use medium eggs; small portion) and a biscuit. The biscuit was large, hot, and strangely flavored. I'd ordered extra butter but they didn't take me seriously. The coffee, which was great, kept coming. The overall experience was disappointing; the service was good although we mused about items not being served from a tray, and with the server's bare fingers on seemingly every portion-- they have to hold plates somehow. This appears to be a restaurant ritual, and the servers needed to know where items went. Not well-coordinated at all. They could do better, the service, the kitchen, the prep, and the recipes. The prices aren't cheap and these oddities seemed to erase any congeniality that the restaurant has otherwise. Just weird. Amended to say that per the request from their management, I sent them an email but have not heard from them several days later. Might be busy. More than a week later, same answer. read more

It wasn't bad & the avocado was a perfect specimen. It was just a bit uninspired & there's a lot of creative competition in the avocado toast market. Biscuits done right. The go-to here would 100% include a biscuit - the biscuit bowl (the inspiration of the opening comment) was fantastic and filling, definitely not the average American diner breakfast, while having all the same components- figure than one out... the chicken biscuit is right up there with the breakfast bowl.
