We have been here twice and the food is amazing! The first time, service was a bit slow, but the second time service was amazing (typical in restaurants). We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the Apple Fritter French toast platter. It does not have apples and whip cream on it, but rather the apple is vooked into the french toast. I ate it without syrup and it was delicious. Huge portions and tasty.

Bloomington this was a stop for a simple lunch. Clubhouse with cheese curds and soup/sandwich. The clubhouse was food the meat was flavorful. The cheese curds were really good and fresh but a slight bit salty for my tastes the upcharge was expected but probably wouldn't do it again. The Mediterranean soup was good and HOT. The grilled cheese was basic. I inquired about the turkey cheese and the ham and cheese and was told they only come with meat and cheese nothing else on it. The server was really nice.

I was so happy to see that Zes Diner has opened in Bloomington! They just opened in June and the space is a great location close to Cub. They have a patio area and plenty of seating inside. I ordered the Gyro sandwich and it was good. The menu has something for everyone! From Mexican, to American, to Mediterranean, etc there is something for all tastes! The servers are friendly and quick to meet any requests. The manager was kind and made us feel welcome and appreciated.

The place was clean. They had a usable bathroom with great decor and paintings everywhere with an old school vibe. The food came out quick and the server was very attentive and patient, got us everything we asked for with kindness. The food tastes good, the whole experience was great. I would go again.

Today (7/2/25) First time I went to Ze's Diner Bloomington! We had a great experience my friend Liz and I! Awesome customer service! They have every kind of food that you can think of from Greek to breakfast to burgers to everything! The ambiance '50s Diner look the decor the music everything! It just opened on Monday June 30th and there are seven locations around the Twin Cities! Went to the one in Eagan on Monday had a great experience there as well! You should go check it out for yourself any of their locations!

    Vintage atmosphere. Very bright energy

The food was phenomenal! We got fried pickles, an omelette, and biscuits & gravy. Chai latte was fantastic, and our waitress Cindy was incredible. We live a couple hours away in South Dakota, but this makes an easy weekend trip worth it. She was so kind, extremely attentive, and the food was quick to come out with great quality.

We really enjoyed Ze's Diner. Great waitress, fun discussions with her early in the morning, and a fine breakfast, too.

I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken and it was incredible. It was crispy, oversized, extremely hot, I was crying after eating it. My girlfriend got the eggs Benedict, which she loved, and I stole some of. The real star of this restaurant is the donuts and spicy cheese curds though. I would literally travel back to Minneapolis just for those. I think I dream about them in my sleep. The vibe is great inside, it's retro, but not in a try-hard way. Solid service as well they're just so sweet and local. Must try spot if you're visiting Minneapolis.

The veg was a very not cut correctly: chunks of green bell peppers and over chunky sliced onions that were not cooked through. Please stop being lazy and chop your veg and cook the onion . Green salad was hot Not impressed. And the Bloody Mary mix is sub par. However, the diner is cute and service is good. Second visit: had to sit at counter which is fine. They were busy. The bad: Bloody Mary's were flat and expensive $13 each. No depth of flavor, thought we would give them a second chance. . Ordered croquette madame. Egg was severely undercooked - the egg white was gelatatinous and the bread way too thick, ham fatty and subpar, where were you Béchamel? I took a bite of my breakfast and he hands me a box at the end when I asked for the check--not asking if anything is wrong. Two bites out of the spring mix salad and sandwich. Bloody Mary full. $70 for a salad, madame croquette, slow service which is no problem. It's a tiny diner and around lunch time. No worries there. But uncomfortable dining service because we could feel the tension between the server and bartender. Again for me? NBD but my daughter did not appreciate this. The good: the Mediterranean salad was delicious according to my daughter. She had the same thoughts about the Bloody Marys. Super cute beer backs- pony miller high life. I brought the croque madame home and my son loved it. Went on and on about how amazing it was. In all fairness my adult kids loved their food. He did microwave it to cook the egg through. Yes I know I am picky because I worked in the restaurant industry for over 22 years. And I can make better food at home. I just expect a bit more if I am going to drop $70 for two lunch entrees and two drinks. Not including the tip. Bottom line: I would not go back for this very expensive diner that doesn't know how to properly cook simple things. Or chop veg. Or make a drink.

First it was the old Uptowner, but it transitioned to The Uptown Diner when it opened. Over the years our family has always looked forward to our diner outing (even though Santa is no longer in the picture). Great food, healthy (not for the weight conscious) servings, good service, and value pricing. As expected, prices crept up with inflation over the years, but the service and value remained. No more is this the case. Our recent visit was very disappointing. The food was still great, but everything else missed the mark. I can understand increasing pricing and would have been fine with the bill, but we needed a double take on the serving sizes. The Tex Mex has been consistently ordered over the years. Consistently a large tortilla on a large plate heaping with eggs, salsa, and veggies. This year they try to deceive you with a small tortilla on a smaller plate to give the impression you are getting the same serving size. The reality is it is probably 40% less food than what we have typically seen. The Cajun breakfast was also smaller, but probably only by 25%. Yet the price with sausage for this breakfast was $25, so no value meal here. The service started off fine, but lacked attention when we were ready for our check. It pains me to say after all these years that we will be reconsidering our annual trip (and other stops in between) and breaking tradition. I hope they listen to the feedback and bring back the service and serving sizes we remember.
