After being greeted and shown to our table by the host, an unsmiling, non-talkative slug with the personality of a dump truck, it was a great dining experience. Our server, Hope, was beyond amazing. She put on a masterclass of hospitality and genuine friendliness. She's also an admirer of nice watches, (wink). The beef stroganoff was the best we've experienced with the homemade noodles and succulent beef tips. Very lovely lunch. I had the smoked bbq chicken sandwich, with no bun. It was tasty and the fries were excellent. It didn't need the cheese (I pulled it off) as the flavor kinda messed with the otherwise great meal. The service was excellent. The waiter swiftly removed a bread basket someone else had placed after I ordered a bunless sandwich. This is a funny little hole in the wall in the mall of America that I went to but had never even noticed before. It is not around any of the food courts or some of the other groupings of restaurants but I believe is on the first floor. Haven't been here in many years and once again, it did not disappoint. This place is in the old school category and the vibe is super chill. I was here solo celebrating a new job and ordered the twin medallions. They came encrusted with a tasty blue cheese topping and I had the fresh broccoli for the side. I was a little disappointed in the amount of broccoli but the filets were beautiful and were cooked perfectly. Dinners come with fresh rolls and those were delicious. What more can you ask for than consistent food. I have been here each time travel has brought me to Minneapolis and the food is always good. Don't sleep on the almond crusted Walleye, $32.95 for a platter size filet, it can easily be shared with two. Plus I think it's an unwritten rule somewhere that you must have Walleye when you travel to Minnesota. Based on the crowds, this seems to be where mall goers come to eat, and for good reason. It's a warm, pleasant, large, rocking place. Nice draft beer selection, including a solid house amber. Blue cheese martini is strong and dirty, yup. Great rolls to start, though on our second night a less interested wait person skipped them on our table. Sad. I did the wild rice chowder, interesting and different, and I don't think I'd regularly order, but was glad I tried. Wife had the daily soup, a white chili, and loved it. The pan fried walleye is a hearty meal, especially accompanied by delightful chunky mashed taters. Very glad I had the opportunity to try walleye while visiting the area. Second dinner, we started with the spinach artichoke dip. The dip I could take or leave, it's fine I suppose, but the slices of garlic toast were sent by angels, truly delicious. I'd have a heap of those crunchy flavorful slices for a meal anytime. Not quite as hungry after devouring the appetizer, I did the wedge salad, a classic version, and the shrimp cocktail, fine, though a bit tired. Wife got the salt and vinegar fries to share with our salads, ordered extra crispy, and indeed they were really crispy and wonderful. Next time we're at the mall, we'll be frequenting Twin Cities again for sure. It does make a huge difference who your server is, one night was wonderful, and another careless and sloppy, and not all the dishes are 5 star, but, as the crowds can attest, it's popular for a reason. read more

If you're at the Mall of America and need a solid spot to go to it is Twin City Grill. Tucked away in the North Garden on the first floor, right by Nordstrom. From the moment you walk in, Twin City Grill gives off classic vibes. I went with the classic Twin City dishes. A cup of wild rice corn chowder, the state fair cheese curds, and the beer-battered Walleye sandwich. The chowder was tasty, the cheese curds were crispy, but the rest of the meal? It kind of fell flat. The Walleye sandwich didn't impress, and overall, I felt like it didn't quite hit the mark. The service was alright--it wasn't terrible, but there's definitely room for improvement. With better service and a more consistent meal, this could have been better than average. read more

Took my wife to one of her favorite restaurants for her bday. We've been coming here for years actually and for her birthday she could've gone anywhere she chose here. The customer service is ALWAYS on point. The setting reminds me of one of those old school places in NY that we love. We really come here for the spinach artichoke dip. If we bring our boys we have to place to two orders if it. IT'S THAT GOOD! The salt vinegar fries are always good and hot which I had with my cheeseburger. Wifey had the tuna melt which she enjoyed. We had dinner at Twin City Grill and would say that service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxing. I had a BBQ chicken salad that was a special and enjoyed it. My partner had the walleye fish coated with almonds and he really didn't like it - the texture of the fish and the almond coating. The fries were very tasty as were the mashed potatoes. I was visiting for a wedding and one of the locals recommended us to Twin City Grill and I'm thankful they did. This place is located inside of the mall of America, but it's no mall food. Stepping inside, you forget you're in a mall and it feels like any nice steakhouse. The staff were all very nice and the food was so good. Prices are average, somewhat lower than what you pay for a good steak in most areas. If you look and my photos, I specifically ordered rare, so don't be turned away by that. Love TC Grill - it's a great place to stwp away from the hustle and bustle of MOA and relax at the bar, have a date meal or bring kids for a bite to eat. The food is always outstanding, service - consistently great, and drinks are generous with a great top shelf selection. The way we dine at TC Grill is - when our teens need a break from the rides shopping, we tell them to get us a table, and order what they want. We then leisurely make it to the restaurant, by then kids are already eating. We take time ordering, and by the time our food arrives, kids are done and take of to have more MoA fun. We visited for lunch on a Thursday. The pub-style dark woods and mood lighting make this place feel like a refuge from the bustle and glare of the outer wall. Service was fantastic. I enjoyed a cider from Sweetland Orchard while my husband had a Twin City Amber. The cheese curds were delicious, perfectly hot with a nice cheese pull, and served in a fun cup. We mostly had a good experience, but a couple of smaller things happened that made it a little less enjoyable. We are from Chicago so we are used to going to lettuce entertain you restaurants so I was excited to see there was one in the mall. I'll start with the good parts of our dinner. Our waiter was so kind and we really liked all of the food, it was alot of Midwest classics. I had a tuna melt and my husband had the smokehouse chicken sandwich and they were both great. The only weird things that happened were that I had requested a highchair on my reservation but when we got there, the host said there weren't any tables available that could fit a highchair so we had to use a booster. But then when we got seated, another staff person found us a table for the highchair. It just was weird that I requested it previously and they didn't try to accommodate it. And then, when we got our food, the server bringing it (not our main waiter), knocked the bbq sauce off of the plate and it spilled all over the floor. He just walked alway and never came back with another sauce, someone else cleaned it up but it was strange. Those two things just turned me off a bit because I don't think those would happen in the Chicago lettuce restaurants. But overall we had fun and the food was good but the service could use a little help. read more

It just wasn't nearly as fresh and yummy as I expect for a bone-in ribeye. On a positive note, the baked potato was great! This is my first time visiting The Twin City Grill and I am glad I took the recommendation from a family member to try it! Based on my craving for a sandwich, our server suggested I try the BLT. It ended up being probably one of the best BLT's I've ever had! I bacon was sweet and crispy and the bread was perfect (not soggy at all). I was meeting a friend on a casual Friday at the Mall of America. We've known each other for years and it's about time we hung out in person vs online. We decided beforehand that we'd have lunch here at the Twin City Grill at the Mall of America. I arrived here via uber around 10am and waited for my friend at the East entrance at the Starbucks. Menu was kind of limited, but they had basically what those people were find at a restaurant that serves anything grilled or flame broiled. My friend and I spent about 45 minutes here from initially entering the restaurant to paying. The ambiance was cool and quite quiet being inside the Mall of America. It was nice to not hear the kids, or anyone screaming on the rides they had there. I believe I ordered their burger and my friend ordered a salad. They gave us complimentary bread sticks, which was good and delicious. The burger itself was quite good since I ordered it rare. Rare burgers are awesome and cooked just right. The fries they gave me was good and delicious. I opted for water this time around. Best to celebrate later, I guess. The overall experience here at the Twin City Grill at the Mall of America was quite nice and could be used for dates and such. For myself and my friend, it was a casual meal as friends who had known each other for years but never met in person. I ended up treating my friend since it was the right thing to do. I enjoyed the ambience. It was worth traveling to Minneapolis to meet up with my friend. The food is great, but the service is typical and Franny as well. So, if you feel yourself shopping at the bottom of America here in Minneapolis, Minnesota you can check this place out. It may be the alternative to the food courts that are here. Plus you can get a pretty mean burger versus the other options. You can find at the food court here at the mall of America. This is our "camp out" place when the teens have unlimited ride wristbands and we have a lot of time to spend. We love the space - like a Las Vegas super club. We usually sit at the bar and sip on wine, but this time we ordered lunch. They pay a lot of attention to their sauces and dressings, which as you know, makes or breaks simple foods. I'm in town for work and coworkers wanted to check out the mall - and we've been obsessed with cheese curds and this place had them! So really easy decision for dinner. (Also there was a bet made and one coworker lost in saying that the mall wouldn't have anything that had cheese curds and as a result... we got free cheese curds on him hehe). We got there around 6pm on a Friday night and were seated in about 15 min with a group of 5. Service was fantastic - there have definitely been other restaurants we've been where they barely check in on us or check on us too often. Our server was observant and had perfect timing. For appetizers, we got 2 orders of the cheese curds based on yelp photographs. The cheese curds come in little cans(?) which make them look small, but there is still more than you would expect (they manage to pack it down). With a group of 5 though, 2 orders worked perfectly. Batter was perfectly salty and the side of ranch worked surprisingly well. I highly recommend! I got the walleye fish fry with a side of the salt n vinegar fries - basically, fish and chips. It also came with a side of coleslaw (tasty!). Fries were excellent but I almost wish that salt and vinegar flavor had been on the fish itself. Fish was well cooked. We took food to go because we really wanted to try Wild rice soup here in Minnesota, we've heard it's a local dish and that wild rice is used often here. The wild rice soup was really good. It was a bit watery but not too watery and the flavors inside were so good that it didn't matter because each spoon full was flavor packed. Luckily you could still taste the cream sauce so it was right on the edge of too watery but still had enough consistency to make that texture transparent Since we got a to-go order we can't comment much about the service. But I can say that they allowed someone to answer the phone who doesn't know the menu or the restaurant policy, they were trying to tell us they couldn't take our to go order until we asked to speak to someone else. They were only 20 mins from closing so I give them a pass but they should still have someone answering till like 5-10 before closing I feel. The ambiance is nice but nothing particularly special. It's a pretty nice slightly above average looking place. The cheese curds we're kinda meh. They were salty, and the ranch sauce it came with was low quality and salty as well.
