Service was outstanding. We had a group of 5. She took great care of us. Apps we had crab cakes and oysters. All were fresh and delicious. I had the hot buttered lobster roll and is was fantastic. Nice pieces of lobster! The table has the Brussels sprouts side to share and those were also delicious! Everyone really enjoyed their meal.

Our group was seated right away. Our server was great, too bad she's moving FL. She was attentive and friendly. We never felt rushed. Love that Smack Shack shell-ebrated Pride with their Weekly Catch. Normally we'd get the lobster roll but no way could be pass up on the Lobster LGBTQ Sandwich. Everything was delicious.

We had such a good experience here. London, our waitress was sooo friendly and attentive and gave us great recommendations! We tried a few appetizers off the happy hour menu, and our favorite the tuna mahi poke wrap and the shrimp avocado toast. There are a few different areas, we sat in a cozy booth but there's also a patio if you want to eat outside. Highly recommend a visit!

Great patio with a lovely breeze! Busy tonite which tells you good food! Our server care of our every request and the manager, Jared, honored an expired $25 certificate I had ignored too long. Now that's great customer service. Enjoyed our Curry Mussels, Lobster Guacamole and Peel n Eat Shrimp, all delicious. Jared told me they are adding a wood fire grill and steaks will soon be on the menu! Why don't I eat here more often?? I WILL NOW!

Decided to come during lunch and the ambiance was pretty tame and mellow. The service was fairly decent as we never ran out of water. So A+. I opted for a Stuffed Salmon with Lobster and Shrimp. It sat on a bed of mushroom risotto with butternut squash. Every single bit of this meal was a match made in heaven. Absolutely delicious. The gin and tonic was nice and refreshing as well. The only knock of a star was truly the price unfortunately.

We stopped in for lunch on a Friday. The place was busy but not slammed. We were in a booth in the main dining room, which had a high ceiling and rope decorations along a ocean-faring theme. Service was initially quite slow--it took a while to get our drinks and appetizer--but after that, everything was perfectly paced, with our server checking often to see if we liked everything or were in need of more drinks. Smack Shack has a pretty big drink menu. My husband had a beer from on on tap, and I was happy that they had local cider. We had to try the lobster poutine as an appetizer. I wasn't sure what to expect, as the very concept sounds like it may be sacrilegious to my Canadian friends, but wow, this dish was GOOD. Flavor-packed without being hot-spicy. Loads of quality fries topped with sauce, cheese, and a nice helping of tender lobster. Honestly, this place would be worth the visit just for this extraordinary plate. My husband went with traditional fish and chips and really enjoyed them. The breading was quite crisp and thick. I chose the crab cake niçoise salad. The crab cakes were fantastic. As with the poutine, lots of flavorful spice without heat. The combo of Bibb lettuce, green beans, potatoes, and boiled egg was so classic, and so very good. It was nice to eat something light and healthy after the indulgent appetizer! We were both quite full at that point so we didn't have a dessert, but the options sounded nice. This is definitely a place I would visit again based on the fantastic food. The menu is huge and there were many things that sounded interesting.

If you are craving a crab boil or lobster roll, this is the place for you! We started with the coconut curry muscles, complete with fantastic taste and garlic naan. Super crave-able. On to the crab boil -- a bit of a snafu because they were out of the variety we asked for, but they made it right for us. Super fresh and tasty with all the sides. I loved the corn, potatoes and the sides of butter. A fun experience, and great tasting crab. Our service was really nice and attentive. Comfortable atmosphere!

I'd come back to smack shack just for the spectacular service and great French fries! The perfect mix of upscale and casual, Smack Shack is a really great spot for a date or work outing, or for any seafood enthusiast! Their menu has a large variety of items, almost all featuring seafood so this is a hard spot to find something to eat as a vegetarian. Our waitress was extremely kind and attentive. The food was pricier but I felt like the portions definetly made it worth the price! The fries were perfectly crispy and the seasoning on them was incredible.

I am glad I gave this place another try and came out for happy hour. The happy hour menu has a nice selection of drinks and apps. I really liked the mules frites (mussels and fries) but I am glad I got regular fries, without their Cajun seasoning, because I remember I really didn't like that specific seasoning. The atmosphere is still very reminiscent of the Fuddruckers that used to be there but they did add some nautical decor.

A must go restaurant every time I'm in Minnesota as the staff is always friendly and the food is good. You can't beat the price on the bottomless mimosas.

My first response pulling up here was wow there's another smack shack and it's closer to me? Heck yeah Quality service, great fish, and a nice vibe to it. Kind of giving the inside of Joe's Crabshack iykyk I got the mussels with is an appetizer technically but honestly was enough for just me. It comes with warm bread so you can soak up the delicious sauce. Excellent Will come back soon!

Connecticut Style Lobster Roll with Cajun corn with hot Cheetos
    Joe D.

Cool vibe walking in with a nice big bar area, plenty of dining room tables as well. Julie took great care of us. We got some oysters (South Bay Blonde MA & Beau Soleil NB) which they always have a decent selection depending on what texture and briny liquor you like. Got the Connecticut Lobster Roll (it's warm) had a great amount of lobster meat and flavor with the butter, lemon, and quality bread. The Cajun corn with hot Cheetos was soo good making a great meal. Then I got the Key Lime ‍ pie to go so I had a treat later. It was fresh, great flaky crust that held together nicely. And don't sleep on their Brunch Menu. Pay yourself a visit asap! Your tummy will thank you. Follow me for more reviews, and message me what I should try next.

One of my favorite restaurants in Minnesota. Comfortable interior with plenty of parking outside. Love the menu- so many appetizing choices and they have weekly specials. We started with the large shrimp appetizer and it was everything they promised. I then chose one of the weekly specials- the lobster banh mi and it was superb. Messy, delicious and perfect. It comes with fries but I upgraded to Brussel Sprouts and they were outstanding. It can be difficult to find a Grenache on wine menus but Smack Shack has a fantastic one. Service was good. We didn't feel rushed and they checked in with us regularly. Prices are moderate - it is lobster after all.

    Gumbo, yummy!

The inside is quite swank, featuring a pretty large bar area on the right when you first enter. We were there for a sit-down dinner, so we proceeded around the left to the counter to get a table. I noticed this place must have a decent loyal following because of the merch you could purchase there at the counter (tee shirts, hats, sweat shirts, etc)! It wasn't too busy despite it being Friday night, so we got a table right away. It was really hard to pick what I wanted off the menu because A LOT of the options looked deliciously tempting (just gonna have to go back), but I eventually decided on a shrimp pasta, and that was the RIGHT choice. Mmm, so good! And a decent portion for the price too, as I took half of it home in a to-go box. I was pleased by the speed at which they got our order ready, as well as how attentive the server was (my in-laws suck down iced tea like no one's business, but she managed to keep them topped off regularly). The parking lot is interesting, as it has above ground and underground parking (probably nice to have the option to go below during the snowy winters around here). It shares the parking lot with a grocery and some other things, which felt a bit cramped, but as I said, we happened to be there when it wasn't too crowded somehow.

The décor is elegant and inviting, and halfway through dinner the lights dimmed into what we jokingly called the "sexy dinner lights," making the atmosphere even more warm and cozy. One thing I really liked is that every entrée comes in multiple sizes, so you can order the portion that fits your appetite. I wish more restaurants offered that option! We started with the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp, and it was a great appetizer. The shrimp had a light, crispy Parmesan crust and came with two delicious dipping sauces. I ordered the Lasagna, and it was exactly what I was hoping for--rich, hearty, cheesy, and full of flavor. One entrée at the table was the Chicken Fettuccine, and we all laughed because none of us expected the pasta to be bright green! It turned out to be spinach fettuccine and ended up being a favorite. Another person ordered the Seafood Linguini De Mare. It wasn't their personal favorite, but that was simply a matter of taste rather than the quality of the dish. I had a Red Ruby Spritz mocktail, which was refreshing and beautifully presented. The others enjoyed their drinks as well. The portions were generous. Even though we were completely stuffed, we still couldn't pass up dessert! The Crème Brûlée was outstanding with a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar topping and silky custard. The Budino was incredibly rich, decadent, and one of the highlights of the night. The Salted Caramel Gelato was also enjoyed. Service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that made us want to linger. One funny tip: the bathrooms were spotless, but the toilets are surprisingly low! I almost sat down much faster than I expected. so be careful. Overall, Ciao Bella was a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, generous portions, beautiful décor, and a relaxing atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

Our server was friendly, but she did accidentally bring the wrong wine, and overall the service was just okay. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest letdown. We ordered the caprese salad, chicken parmesan, and halibut, and while everything was cooked well enough, none of the dishes really stood out. The flavors felt pretty flat, and there wasn't anything that made us say, "Wow, I need to order this again." For the price point, I expected much more. The restaurant itself has a classic Italian atmosphere which made the disappointing meal even more surprising. We had planned on ordering dessert, but after our mains we decided to skip it and head elsewhere. Overall, I really wanted to love Ciao Bella, but the food just didn't live up to the reputation or the price. There are several Italian restaurants in the Twin Cities I'd choose before coming back here.

There were still some things we really enjoyed, though, and I'm glad we gave it a try. We started with the French Onion Soup, which was one of my favorite parts of the meal. I loved that they used croutons instead of one giant piece of bread. Much easier to eat--no fighting with a giant bread raft to get to my soup! The flavor was really nice too. I had the Bolognese Pappardelle, which was good, and my partner really enjoyed his Hanger Steak. He also tried the Garlic Herb Mushrooms, but those weren't really his thing. I ordered the N.A. Lela Punch, and that one surprised me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it grew on me as I drank it. Apparently we just needed a little time to get acquainted. Dessert was an adventure. I decided to try the White Chocolate Panna Cotta because I'd never had panna cotta before. It was beautifully plated, but this is also how I learned panna cotta has a Jell-O-like texture... and I do not like Jell-O. That's definitely a me problem rather than a criticism of how it was prepared. At least I can officially say I've tried panna cotta! I ended up trying the Crème Brûlée as well. Unfortunately, that wasn't my favorite either. I usually love crème brûlée, but I prefer the custard very smooth and creamy, and this one was thicker than I personally like. My partner had the Chocolate Molten Cake and thought it was okay, but it wasn't a favorite for him either. Overall, Lela had some definite highlights--the French Onion Soup, Bolognese Pappardelle, and Hanger Steak especially--but we also had a few misses. I can understand why other people really enjoy it; it just wasn't quite the restaurant for us. And hey, every restaurant adventure can't end with a new favorite. It's the whole "oh it's upscale so less is more" concept. And listen, yes, the lamb was amazingly tasty, as were the veggies that came with it. I'm definitely not saying the food wasn't good; it was excellent, it just sorta felt like a rip-off? And the chocolate torte the four of us shared at the end was also REALLY yummy (but $10 for a small slice w/ a scoop of vanilla, so it better be). If you've got money to blow, by all means, but for the majority of us, this ain't it. I was sincerely dubious the moment we drove up. The place is in a hole-in-the-wall run-down strip mall and the parking lot is full of potholes. The Chinese place right beside it looks like they haven't replaced their signage in thirty years, or maybe they're outta business. When we proceeded inside I could tell the owners had done their best to convert a crappy space into something roleplaying as modern and fancy. It felt a little out of place. The ambiance wasn't all that stellar (which is normally not something I much bother commenting on, but again if you're gonna charge thirty bucks a plate, I begin to factor in more nit-picky things like that); there wasn't any music or anything to cover up the perpetual mechanical hum that seemed to emanate from the kitchen? The bathrooms had a similar kind of "gloss" over it. I was unimpressed that the men's was just a unisex stall without a urinal or anything that actually makes it "men's." Like, just convert your two single stall bathrooms into gender-neutral or all-gender (literally all that takes is swapping signage) so people aren't "waiting" for the "correct gendered toilet" when there's zero difference between the two. It's 2026, y'all. We don't need to practice pointless segregation. Service was reasonably quick, food was hot. The server did a good job of keeping up with my in-laws' unslakeable thirst for iced tea. Everyone was polite enough to us. And I appreciated they were open fairly late into the evening on a Tuesday!
