Stopped in on a Friday morning around 9a and the place was hopping. It's a big space with a lot of seating, no one was waiting for a table. My favorite thing about a breakfast joint is when they have that classic diner seating at the counter right up by the kitchen. Constantly full coffeee, fixed stool seat and strangers on either side of you. I had biscuits and gravy with hash and two over easy eggs. Food came out fast, hot and delicious. There is a variety of Rancheros options and all the other breakfast classics, no shortage of combinations but don't ask for substitutes! You gotta hit this place up if looking for a wholesome, comforting breakfast! read more

HUGE portions that can easily serve 2-3. Coffee refills are amazing -- I must've been asked 10 times if I wanted a refill. It was very busy, but not so loud that you couldn't hear your companions. Food was terrific! I'll definitely go back!! read more

Fat Nat's is my all-time favorite place to go for breakfast! We love both locations, but the New Hope location is in between my parents' house and our house, so we go to that one more often. Many of the employees who work there seem to have been there for quite some time, and it's so nice to see familiar faces every time we go. They are quick and friendly, and the bottomless coffee just keeps on coming! The energy in the space is fun, and the servers do a fantastic job. The food portions are enormous, so I usually save half for lunch or dinner. My kids love the egg, pancake, and two strips of bacon kids meal. This time I had the Florentine Benedict with Italian sausage, and it was so delicious! I made sure to substitute for hashbrowns because, although their American fries are really good, the hashbrowns are so crispy--my favorite! My husband tried a new special that had both red and green hatch chili sauces, and loved it. Can't wait to go back! read more

Tried Fat Nats Eggs for the first time for lunch and had a fantastic experience. It was fun to be in a diner setting with coffee refills offered every couple minutes. The food was absolutely delicious, I ordered the green chilli heuvos with carnitas which came out pretty quickly and was a huge portion. I was a big fan of their homemade salsa, but the avacado-chili salsa that came with my wife's omelette was killer. Next time we go it'll be for lunch so we can try their soup and sandwich combo. read more

We found that Fat Nats Eggs has multiple locations, and I live near three of them (lucky me!). This meal was had at the New Hope location. My friend got the Fat Nat's Slider, and I had the Huevos Rancheros con Papas Favorito. I love saying the name of this dish almost as much as I love eating it. We both ordered decaf as the accompaniment to the water. I enjoyed that the water wasn't ice cold. I don't drink cold water, and I hadn't had a chance to ask for water without ice, so I didn't have to remove the ice from the glass. Whomever I dine with usually gets the extra ice. The food and coffee were great. I appreciate when coffee doesn't taste scorched. The carnitas on the huevos was juicy and plentiful. The crispy tortilla capped off a delicious medley of flavors. The green chili had a beautiful heat that made this dish even more easy to gobble. My friend loved slider, especially as it was huge. We both got two meals out of the one, due to the serving sizes. The service was friendly and quick. We never felt neglected or had to ask for refills or anything else. Also, If you have a party of two or less, the wait shouldn't be long. It was just some seasoned pulled meat on top of crisp tortilla rounds with cheese on top and a side dish of very chunky red salsa. Asked for the creamy avocado salsa verde that was listed on the menu as part of the dish. Was told it was mixed into the meat, but they would bring some out. Instead, they brought out the hatch green chile salsa. Had to flag someone down to get the right salsa. Even with it, the dish still felt dry and like a pile of meat on a tortilla, not a cohesive dish. And was never checked on during the meal. The dishes my friends ordered were also just ok. SERVICE: We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table during peak time. Once seated, we had prompt and no-BS service from who we found out was one of the Fat Nat family members! He was quippy, speedy and gave us honest recs. FOOD: The menu is extensive! I can think of a handful of other breakfast and brunch spots in the Twin Cities that I prefer their menu more - mainly due to a lack of skillets / hashbrown based and GF options at Fat Nat's. I put together a plate from their a la carte menu of eggs, hashbrowns and cheese - and others in our party got combos that included eggs, toast, bacon, pancakes, etc. Food was good - nothing overly remarkable but classic brunch. The pancakes were massive! I think all of us finished our plates - not the typical over-the-top portions you see at most brunch spots. I loved that when I ordered chocolate milk, they brought me milk and the bottle of Hershey's syrup - DIY! What a great spot! A nice sit down style classic diner, with phenomenal service. The waiter and host were both great, it was almost laughable how many times my coffee was refilled... definitely no waiting around! The servers and staff seemed happy to be working which is quite rare in the food industry. Went with blueberry pancakes, bacon, and hash browns. Everything was very tasty, the pancakes tasted like they may have had a bit of vanilla in them. Hash browns were classic. Everything is very large portions, just like a diner should be. My friend ordered her egg Benedict with avocado and she also finished the whole thing. I was full the entire day, for dinner I only ate an apple haha. We were blown away by how many people we're there, we were surprised that despite the sea of people it would only be 10/15 minutes. Right on point with the time, we were seated quickly! The menu is big but not overwhelming. It was difficult to pick one item, but I with with something basic, which I'll switch next time. I started with French toast, and wished I had gone with the pancakes- they looked incredible, French toast wasn't bad but didn't blow me away. Egg, hash browns and bacon laid ahead and it was delicious. Simple yet done right. I took over half my food to go, next time I'll probably share but then again the leftovers were still yummy. Which I consider to be relatively early for brunch! Fat Nats has a good variety of breakfast items on the menu, I highly recommend upgrading to the hash browns, they are so buttery and golden brown. I ordered the David's Benedict (comes with corn beef) and it was just alright. The hollandaise was a little bland and the corned beef probably just doesn't go that well on a Benedict. They tried though! I also got a single pancake which was the star of the show, had a lovely almond flavor to it, very subtly sweet. My friend ordered a build your own omelet and had it with bacon, cheddar, and mushrooms. She really liked her meal. My favorite item is the pork chop breakfast, it's usually cook perfectly. Comes with choice of Toast, eggs and fries- I always sub with hash browns. Hash browns are always extra crispy. We went with a group of 6 and there was plenty of seating, clearly a local favorite since it was consistently busy while we were there, and that was in a Friday late morning.
