‼New restaurant try that should go on your list!‼ I've wanted to try @churchillstmn in Shoreview for a few years now and just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Finally went and had an awesome lunch that I'll definitely need to go back for again. Everything we ordered was really really good. The menu had so many contenders so I'll need to come back and try other things. We noticed a pancake go by our table and that kinda did it for me. I love me a savory and sweet situation so I went with the following and fell in love with my choices and my Auntie's sandwich too....sorry, not sorry. The Breakfast Sandwich (so much flavor going on in this sandwich and when I ordered the response was ooo good choice, which is a deal maker for me) Kid's Pancake on the side (Uffdah this was yummy) Crispy Chicken Sandwich (not my order today but tried a bite and my goodness was it good. The looks of the breading put me off a bit to start but it was deceiving. It wasn't heavy and thick but it was thin crisp tasty breading to complement the sandwich I was impressed with how flavorful the chicken was and balanced with everything.) Monster Cookie was a delicious treat later too So basically everything we got was great and when I go back I'll maybe get something new and let you know thoughts then. Always great food. They seem to have settled on counter based ordering and you get your own water. My one dislike is when paying at the counter that the lowest tip is 18%. Since I have to get my own water and place my order at the counter that lowering my normal 18 to 20 % to 15 seems reasonable. Note they put on a credit card service charge of 3 % so you are back to paying 18% over menu price anyway. Sunday brunch , so get there early. Mocha $5.50. Good flavor but seemed like the chocolate was not fully desolved. Croque Madame $19 with salad. Very well made sandwich with a nice presentation on the salad. Avocado toast $15 always very good and she always get it Raspberry danish hot latte $8. Very good not too sweet. Two brunch specials $19 each. Was very good Service was good. We had some family from out of town that we wanted to take someplace new for Sunday brunch and ends up settling on Churchill St. First off the ambiance is great. It sounds like most of their stuff is sourced locally and they even have a nice little shop where they sell local crafts and farm goods like milk and honey. We ended up getting the avocado toast and the breakfast sandwich special. Both were great, well seasoned and delicious. For service you go up to the counter and order and they bring you your food when it's ready. I like the concept but with a bigger group we ended up having alot of confusion over the bill. We eventually got it straightened out but if I were to do it again I'd just close out the individuals I was paying for immediately after ordering, not wait till the end and have the whole table split up. All in all a great restaurant. We'll definitely be back at some point to try the other options on the menu! read more

Visited Churchill St. for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It's a cute bright spot. We sat up at the bar because the table we were originally sitting at was really close to another table, felt like we really didn't have much space and privacy. It's order at the counter unless you sit up at the bar then they'll take your order. We got two specialty coffees and monkey bread to share. For entrees: CROQUE MADAME and the breakfast sandwich, both with hash-browns. Food was good. Service was good as well. It was a great start to Saturday mining and I'd definitely come back. Loved my experience at Churchill Street! To start, they have a parking lot which is always nice, however if it overfills there are plenty of spots to park on the street. There were plenty of seating spots inside and outside as well and very spacious! I ordered a latte with lavender (my favorite) and it was so good and very speedy! Six of us went there for brunch. Some dishes, such as the breakfast burrito and the avocado toast sandwich were quite good. The eggs Benedict and the "omelette of the day" were very disappointingly bland. The hollandaise sauce had none of its essential sharpness. The omelette of the day, which should have had tangy feta cheese and aromatic fennel, was also essentially tasteless. Coffee was ordered. The salted butterscotch latté had no discernible added taste. The regular latté was the weakest coffee I've had in many a year. The ambience was austere. Service was good. Sadly, in view of the patchy quality of the food, we will not be going back to this restaurant. read more

My husband has been here before for work but it was my first time. It was very busy on a Friday afternoon. We were seated quickly since there were only 2 of us. We looked over our menus and went up to the register to order. It wasn't too noisy even though there were lots of people. Our food was pretty quick to come out. I really enjoyed my broccoli hummus sandwich. My husband liked his eggs Benedict and we both had salad on the side. This is a really nice place with an open sunny feel. Great food and ambiance, bring your wallet. The Shoreview area has limited restaurant options other than bar food and a few chain restaurants. Sunday mornings are even more limited . So I was happy to see that Churchill Street was open on Sunday and offered breakfast and coffee in the a.m. I had the avocado toast. The server described it as "both delicious AND beautiful ". She wasn't wrong. My wife had a more traditional breakfast of eggs over easy with bacon, toast and hash browns. Tasty as they were, the triangular hash browns were obviously a prefabbed, frozen variety that was quickly fried and served along side the eggs. They were hot and tasted good, but not much different than what you'd get at McDonalds or out of your freezer at home. Considering how original and creative the avocado toast was I was surprised that they weren't a little better. My only gripe are the prices and the automatic service charge that's not a service charge. You order at the counter, grab your own water, refill your own coffee and are charged 18% before you even get to your table. Other than delivering the food, we never interacted with a server at our table. I get that people need to get paid but a service charge that's the same as a full service restaurant seems a bit steep. Anyway, paying a little extra for good food at a nice place served by people that get out of bed so I can enjoy my Sunday morning is just part of the deal. I am sure we'll be back. read more

Was looking forward to a quiet lunch with my book since I was off work today. I have eaten here just 2-3 times before with a friend and never felt the customer service from the hostess was exceptional but we enjoyed the food. Well today it was not as busy as it has been the previous times I have been here but that may have been because it was July 3rd. Anyway, I walked in and asked the Hostess for a booth (because I have a bad back from a car accident and can't sit in hard/straight backed chairs). I am also a Senior Citizen. She told me I could not be seated in a booth because I was eating alone and because it was a Friday it would require 2 people to get a booth. I was so disappointed. I had really been looking forward to this lunch and was dumbfounded they would turn me away for needing to sit in a booth. The Hostess offered me no alternatives. This is one place that I will never return too. Just another example of the lack of customer service from the Hostess. A little compassion goes a long way but this place does not have any compassion for its customers. read more

The chicken sandwich I had was really good! Juicy and seasoned and the pickles complimented it. We stopped in Saturday for lunch and we found seating quickly, we didn't have to wait too long for our order and the customer service was pretty good. What a cute place to grab a quick breakfast or sit down and have brunch with the girls! It was very busy here on a Saturday around 11am when I met up with 5 friends to have brunch. My only real complaint about this experience was the lack of parking, we ended up parking on the street which was getting full as well. When you walk in you order at the counter and can then sit down or takeout. The staff were helpful as the menu had lots of options. I ordered a house coffee (free refills!) and a wild rice cookie- very unique, a must try! I was really craving an omelet and they only offered a "omelet of the day" which was ham and Swiss. It was fine 6/10, pretty basic, and honestly I wish I would have ordered something else. Reviews from my table say the blueberry hotcakes and chicken sandwich were the favs! Honorable mention to the breakfast burrito and grain bowl. Do not skip the cookies though! They were almost sold out when we got there. Overall, a lovely experience. If you have children, Churchill is an amazing place to go for a family dining experience. They have screw on lids with straw holders for their glasses and provide child-friendly seating.... However I wouldn't recommend going there for a get together with the girls or a date (unless you've got children in tow) Due to the set up of the restaurant (everyone in one giant room) it was quite loud in there. I wished we had opted for the outdoor seating. Personally, I did not care for what I ordered, the sweet potato hash. The chipotle hollandaise was good, but there was just SO much of it. First time at Churchill Street for brunch- went around noon on a Saturday and we were able to get seated as soon as we got there. Very cute and cozy space with tall ceiling and lots of plants. It's a counter style restaurant so they seat you then you order at the counter and then they bring your order out to you. The foccacia was warm and served with a delicious tomato sauce. Lovely cozy restaurant we visited after touring the Cafesjian Art Trust museum right next door. The four of us were seating in a nice high backed booth. You order at the counter or online with a QR code and food and drink are brought to your table. I wanted a very light dinner and chose the broccoli Parmesan soup which was good. HIDDEN TWIN CITIES BRUNCH GEM!! I stumbled upon Churchill St. looking for a last minute brunch place in the northern suburbs. The ambiance is worthy of any social media post. We chose to say at the bar and had wonderful service. The menu has amazing options, but not too many that it feels overwhelming. I opted for the breakfast sandwich, which is probably the best things I've had since moving here! Partner went with the breakfast burrito and had only positive things to say. Pricing is on par with other upscale brunch places. I will definitely be back to try a brunch cocktail - they looked amazing as well got to see them be made right in front of us. Really love the ambience of this place. I ordered a breakfast burrito that was super delicious, but on the pricier end. The service was great, staff was super patient and willing to give suggestions. I also love that there is still and sparkling water on tap here. They run a bunch of different events throughout the week including a family night! Recently visited for lunch with some work colleagues. Parking is a bit difficult and you may need to park a block or so away, on the street. The place itself looks great both inside and out. Very inviting atmosphere and friendly service. You need to pick a table, then get up, order, and pay, so keep that in mind if you're looking for full service -- they even have a water station for you to pour your own glasses. The food was very good. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are, and you can tell they take pride in sourcing their ingredients. I had their take on a club sandwich and it was very tasty. Bread was properly toasted without being too greasy, bacon was meaty and well cooked, tomatoes and lettuce were very fresh, and their aioli was fantastic without overpowering the meal. It's not a full service restaurant since you order at the register, find a table, and there is a water station for refills. You get the ketchup, sugar, napkins at the station for your table as well. They do bring the food out to you though. I went around 12ish hoping to order a brunch type meal. Much of the food looked good but unfortunately there were no meat options for non-pork eaters. I ended up ordering the smash burger and fries which I had no complaints. Also, an iced tea. It was a bit pricey at almost $28 and most of it being self-serve. I love the atmosphere of this spot! It's clean and trendy, while still feeling cozy and inviting. And the patio is an absolutely lovely spot to enjoy a date night or brunch with friends! Very creative imaginative and delicious menu! We tried avocado toast, blueberry hotcakes, lemon ginger scone and because they looked to good, also a biscuit. Seasonal coffee was plum and spices. Everything was so good, could not pick one over the other - except maybe it was the avocado toast. They were quite busy, very friendly service, all vaccinated per website. We have now been here at least 6-7 times and never disappointed- very good service and wonderful food, menu changes with the season. This has been such a welcome addition to the north east 'burbs. Breakfast or lunch, they have you covered here. I usually check out the omelet of the day or grab a pastry for breakfast. For me, the bigeest gripe I have is that so much of the breakfast stuff is made with pork. I know I can always just not have it included, but its in almost everything that isn't yogurt. If you don't eat meat/pork, you will likely be making subtractions from your breakfast meal here. Lunch/dinner here is much more my jam as the menu is a bit more diverse. The most rece t time I stopped in for lunch, I had a cauliflower sandwich that was awesome and a delicious grapefruit mocktail. And enjoyed the covered patio seating. This is also a no-tip location and and order-at-the-bar place too. Tends to always be busy, so keep that in mind when visiting. read more

Finally visited Churchill after hearing about it! What a cute spot - love the ambiance and vibe. The high ceilings and large windows made it feel almost like a coffee shop that you'd want to spend an afternoon in. We rolled in with two kids and a baby and had no trouble getting a table. The service was wonderful - everyone was helpful and made sure we had what we needed! If it had not been insanely humid and hot, we would have sat on the patio (looked fun). Next time I suppose! I had a hard time choosing something to get! We went for lunch, and while the selection is smaller than some places, there were lots of tasty looking options. I ended up going with the fried chicken sandwich and side salad. Flavor wise, the chicken sandwich was awesome. The bun held up, the sauces were delish, and the chicken was moist and crunchy! One thing I didn't like was that there were spots where it was almost all batter / no chicken. Still tasty but not ideal! I loved the salad, as simple as it was! Just greens with a nice citrus-y dressing - exactly what I love in a side salad! As others have mentioned, the price is higher than I expected, especially for the area! But still good food. We came here for lunch with the kids. We were finding it hard to find a restaurant in the area that was not cheap fast food. Churchill is tucked way in the back of a nondescript office park and inside is a light, airy, upscale farmhouse vibe. Almost feels coastal California. They also have a bar, too. We came in for lunch, but the menu is very brunchy. Lots of breakfast foods, supplanted with lunch sandwiches and salads. Everything seems very well made and they source from a lot of local vendors. We got crispy fried chicken sandwiches (thigh meat) and fries. The sandwiches were excellent and came with some mayo-based sauce that had a nice zing to it. Fries were ok, good enough. The staff were super nice and the food came out pretty quickly. My only complaint is that the prices were awfully steep. $17 for a fried chicken sandwich. 2 sandwiches and tap water came to around $40 with tax. read more

So much to love about Churchill Street!! It used to be the C & E Hardware store. It was renovated into a bright and inviting space with booths and tables, a separate room for special events and a lovely outdoor patio. Fresh herbs are grown around the outside of the patio. Locally sourced, organic food is used to create interesting menu items. The food is incredibly good and choices rotate. Staff is exceptional as are the bartenders. Very nice spot where I have had breakfast several times. This was the first time I went for dinner and I'm glad I did. It is good and the staff is very friendly. It's not traditional where you have a server, as you order from the counter. They bring it out to you so I view it as a non traditional sit down restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. We love how airy the building feels and how carefully the chef chooses their ingredients from the local vendors. I also found that they have private event area that you can host the small gathering.
