Gouda Burger & Fries

Real nice restaurant, very modern and trendy. Plenty of unique seating options, and they serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. The service was good, polite and knowledgeable. Decent sized menu, and they have beer of tap and a good wine & drink menu. Our sandwiches were both delicious, we both thought the sweet potato fries were better than their regular fries, but even those were tasty. We will definitely be back here again sometime soon!

We visited for my nieces 21st birthday and it was an underwhelming experience. I included the details about the birthday on our reservation but nothing was mentioned by the host or the server. The space is really beautiful, open and airy with many unique seating vignettes around the restaurant. Our server was nice but had little attention to detail. No knowledge of specials, kept asking if we wanted more water (I guess we're used to just having glasses refilled if empty). Nothing for the birthday girl. :( Not a huge deal but a little something would have been nice. The menu is really nice and offers a great variety but the food was just fine; nothing exceptional. Corn dip was probably the fave at the table. The restrooms are in need of a cleaning!! Not sure we'll be back.

Loved this eclectic restaurant which was recommended to me to try. The ambience, seating, decor and menu are next level. It's mostly an "American-esque" menu with a twist or little extra flair. They have a handful of locations across the metro area. We sat (party of 5) in this beautiful half booth and then two chairs on the outside. The drinks were delish and they had such a great variety of liquor options. I ordered a tuna poke bowl which I found out later is one of their most popular items on the menu. It was great and fresh but I could've used some more siracha aioli sauce cause that was delish! Cannot wait to come back and try some new options. Also as a side note - kid menu is in the drinks menu and the WiFi password is: morningnoonandnight

Absolutely love this place and have been here many times. Really the only nicer restaurant in the surrounding suburbs and so we greatly appreciate that it's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've had many items on the menu and loved them all. The pizzas are the best thing on the menu imo but today I got the sandwich special which was a shrimp po boy and it didn't disappoint. My dining mates loved the pork belly tacos (spicy!) and the ranch house chicken. Mocktails were all dynamite. Among the better ones I've had and the prices are not unreal as they are at some places. Service is always fantastic and we love the interior space. We now live super close and will be coming here all the time!

We enjoyed a quiet and cozy table with a large group after graduation. We had excellent service and enjoyed a delicious dinner! We loved the loaded tots, the brussel sprouts and the corn dip as appetizers! For dinner, I had the chicken bowl, but others in our party enjoyed the burgers, chicken salad, steak frites and the pot roast!

Went to celebrate Father's Day and had a great experience! Place seemed very clean and well-decorated. Service was quick and friendly. Food was quite good, would likely go back to try some other menu items.

Fried Chicken Sandwich

Our friends brought us here for dinner while we were in the area! Perfect spot to hang out and grab a bite! Located in an apartment complex, there is a shared lot with parking available adjacent to the restaurant! The interior is open, while remaining cozy! It feels upscale, yet approachable, with quality finishes that elevate the experience. Our server was fantastic the whole evening! I opted for the Fried Chicken Sandwich, which was a perfect take on the classic: juicy chicken, crunchy pickles, and creamy sauce. My favorite part was the chipotle aioli that came with the sweet potato fries: smoky with a hint of spice! I had to ask for more because I could have eaten that sauce with a spoon! If you're looking for great American food, I'd absolutely recommend this spot if you're in the area!

Breakfast Bagel

I have to say they are my favorite breakfast potatoes that I've had at a restaurant. They have nice crispy bits and they mix in some cheese and herbs. I added mayo to my bagel sandwich as I felt last time it was a bit dry. Next time I would want to order it with arugula as I feel it need some freshness. Over all service was good.

Partial view of the dining area.

This is one of my very favorite places for breakfast, and I return often because the food is consistently delicious. I highly recommend the Original Bagel Sandwich--an everything bagel with bacon, American cheese, and a fried egg--paired with Oliver's hash. The hash has outstanding flavor and is truly a standout. Another favorite is the Scrambler (scrambled eggs with bacon, scallions, mushrooms, peppers, aged cheddar, and Oliver's hash underneath). Again, the flavor is excellent. If you enjoy a little kick, be sure to ask for their homemade hot sauce--it's terrific. I believe the ketchup is made in-house as well, although it's not quite to my taste. My one consistent disappointment with breakfast is that the menu never changes. They don't seem to offer specials, and I would really love to see new items introduced--whether occasionally or seasonally. Adding some variety would make an already great experience even better. I've considered going for lunch, but the current menu doesn't quite draw me in. I tend to go to specialty places for pizza or tacos, and while I'm sure the soup is very good, I can't justify $17 for a bowl. There are burgers and sandwiches as well, but nothing that really stands out to me. Again, introducing lunch specials or rotating items would make a big difference and likely bring me in more often. The atmosphere is excellent--comfortable, inviting, and full of charming little nooks and crannies, along with bar seating. If having a booth is important to you, I recommend making a reservation.

I love going to Oliver's when I'm looking for a variety. It's a very cozy spot and I do enjoy how the place is spaced out and the vibes are great! Service has always been quick and the cocktails are very refreshing. Some of the food is average in taste but I personally enjoy the loaded tots and ordering the Korean chicken sandwich!

Huevos rancheros

Oliver's is a very cute, cozy place with great food and service. We went here on a Saturday for brunch before my niece's baptism so we had a pretty big group. Service seemed a little slower since it was Saturday and it looked busy. Pretty much everyone in the group gravitated towards two things on the menu. The Huevos rancheros and Oliver's sunrise. One person in the group got the flapjacks. Kids got Mac and cheese from the kid's menu and eggs. They devoured their food. The Huevos rancheros was delicious with avocado, salsa, refried black beans, queso fresco, chipotle aioli, over easy egg all set on top of crunchy tostada. Every one finished every single bite of it. The Oliver's sunrise is a big portion with eggs any style, bacon or sausage, toast and Oliver's hash. Every one seemed to enjoy it and had left over. The flapjacks were delicious I was told. We all had a great experience and I'm looking forward to going back for dinner sometime.

We arrived on a Tuesday, in the late morning. The restaurant and location are very nice. The decor and space is great. Apparently, reservations are recommended as the hostess was not very happy that we did not have reservations. We were seated at a table which was about as big as a postage stamp. Actually, I think I've seen bigger postage stamps! At first our server was attentive. However, it seemed like we wore out our welcome because he didn't come back to clear our dishes or remove glasses (again, table was smaller than a postage stamp!). That being said, the food was brought out quickly and was very good!! While we visited in November and the patio was closed, it looks like their patio may be 'dog friendly'. I would like to return in the spring (with a RESERVATION!) to see if we have a better experience the next time.

Their menu is phenomenal: hearty, homestyle meals with a creative twist, and portions that always leave you satisfied. I've tried several dishes over the years, and I'm consistently impressed by the care, quality, and integrity they put into their food. The dishes feel unique and thoughtfully crafted, with flavors that are both comforting and complex. Most recently, I had the pineapple curry, and it completely blew me away. It was plated beautifully and tasted even better than it looked. One thing you absolutely shouldn't skip is the daily specials, they're usually some of the most creative and delicious items on the menu. Their menu is also well labeled for gluten free. Brunch or dinner, Brickhouse is absolutely worth the visit (+ there is outdoor rooftop seating!!). I highly recommend!

We had a work dinner at Tavern Grill a week ago and it was wonderful!…read more I ordered an IPA to start and I had been to the Tavern Grill in Edina and love this place, so I knew everything was going to be good. We started out with some appetizers for the table and the artichoke dip was spectacular. creamy and tasted like artichokes. The pretzels came with a fantastic sweet/spicy mustard and a cheese dip to die for. So good! I ordered the prime rib sandwich with mac and cheese. The bread was a perfectly done baguette and the mac and cheese was perfect, rich, but not crazy! I could only finish half my sandwich, but warmed up perfectly the next day for lunch. The place is huge and our server handled the group of twenty, no problem and our food didn't take too long to come out, all things considered. Loved this place!

Staff was friendly and helped with app suggestions. I tried a dirty soda: butterscotch bliss. It was heavy on the ice so it was gone after 3 sips. I wouldn't spend the money on it again and get a regular soda. Apps were delicious. Happy to have BATTERED cheese curds over breaded. The pretzel had the perfect amount of salt, and was big enough to feed 3 people. Didn't care for the beer mustard sauce. I didn't taste any beer flavors... all pungent ground brown mustard. The Cheesy Jalapeno sauce was nice, not too hot/ spicy. And you can't go wrong with a trio sampler. My favorite on this plate was the bang bang shrimp. All in all, this place fit our needs and would look forward to return again to try an entree.

‼New restaurant try that should go on your list!‼…read more I've wanted to try @churchillstmn in Shoreview for a few years now and just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Finally went and had an awesome lunch that I'll definitely need to go back for again. Everything we ordered was really really good. The menu had so many contenders so I'll need to come back and try other things. We noticed a pancake go by our table and that kinda did it for me. I love me a savory and sweet situation so I went with the following and fell in love with my choices and my Auntie's sandwich too....sorry, not sorry. The Breakfast Sandwich (so much flavor going on in this sandwich and when I ordered the response was ooo good choice, which is a deal maker for me) Kid's Pancake on the side (Uffdah this was yummy) Crispy Chicken Sandwich (not my order today but tried a bite and my goodness was it good. The looks of the breading put me off a bit to start but it was deceiving. It wasn't heavy and thick but it was thin crisp tasty breading to complement the sandwich I was impressed with how flavorful the chicken was and balanced with everything.) Monster Cookie was a delicious treat later too So basically everything we got was great and when I go back I'll maybe get something new and let you know thoughts then. Safe to say you should check it out sometime. For more awesome food spots check out the account mallorymademetryitmn on Instagram!

The restaurant itself is really beautiful and it's also very big. I guessed 200 seats plus patio. The space is very elegant, and clearly a lot of attention went into the design. I would describe it as kind of modern steakhouse vibe. Dark wood, faux fur and leather finishes, etc. Elegant. We were seated at a booth by the bar with a big window view of the patio and parking lot. We were immediately slightly offput because the marble ledge separating the booth from the window was dirty - grease and little food crumbs. Not the best first impression. The booth and table were both clean though. Our waitress, Ash, did provide good service but I would say honestly she was a bit too attentive if that makes sense, and she was also too chatty for us. There were several times when she lingered at our table to tell us something we didn't inquire about or to just talk about something. It was a bit annoying honestly. But the service itself was good. We were also visited by a manager during our visit. We each got a mocktail (it was lunch) but they have an impressive drink menu. I got the Red Rose which was really tasty, and my husband got the pineapple drink, which he also said was good. -We ordered the chimichuri shrimp appetizer, which was pretty banging. Four really large shrimp, each on its own piece of bruschetta, doused in chimichuri sauce. Even for me, with a low spice tolerance, it was just the right amount of spice and it was really really good. -We also got a round of oysters. The oysters themselves were fresh - no complaints there. When they were delivered to our table, the person did not tell us which variety was which (pretty standard when serving oysters at any restaurant). Because we eat oysters a lot and one of the varieties was sweet petite, it was fairly easy to tell which was which. But in my opinion, there should have been information given when the oysters were served. The other big issue was the shucking. Some of the oysters hadn't been fully separated from the shell, and we both found ourselves picking bits of shell from our mouths. We actually had a little discussion about the $6 price tag. I felt it was reasonable, my husband felt it was high. But for $6 apiece, the oysters need to be shucked properly and these were not. Ash also made a point to tell us all kinds of information we didn't ask for about their happy hour, which includes $3 oysters. That would be a steal if they learn how to shuck them. -I got the half french dip sandwich, and I was really glad I just ordered the half because what I was served was totally a whole sandwich in my book. The accompanying fries were delicious, crispy, deep golden brown and hot. The au jus served with the sandwich was slightly on the salty side but not terrible. And I do realize it's au jus. In all it was a pretty decent sandwich. -Hubby got the sea bass sandwich, which was also pretty tasty. I'll be honest and say that I think the entree sea bass would have been better. The fish was so good that I don't honestly think you needed the bun. But it was really good and fresh and delicious. We skipped dessert. In all, a pretty solid dining experience and the food was very good. But it was the minor things mentioned that bothered us, so 3 stars with room for improvement upon our return.
