I have to tell you about my first time visit at Oliver's last Sunday. Breakfast with my family to celebrate my nephews birthday. Nice place. Larger than I expected. Nice bar and deck. Parking is kinda weird but we figured it out. Place was less than half full. I ordered the chicken and biscuits off the breakfast menu. Per the menu the chicken and biscuits consist of: fried chicken thigh, house-biscuits, sausage gravy, poached eggs, pickled veg, and chili honey. Love me some biscuits with sausage gravy. Also love how this came with poached eggs. Service...slow. We had to ask for coffee refills and it took quite a while to get our food. Note there were 5 in our party. Server was very nice, just not overly attentive. Finally got our food. Barely room temperature. Plate looked a bit gray and the eggs were two little balls off to the side. Chicken was soggy by the time I got it, the gravy was more sweet than the taste of sausage and the eggs were definitely not poached. They were med/hard boiled. So disappointed. I will say the chicken was moist so in a different plate situation I suspect it could be good. read more

Unfortunately this pork belly was not rendered correctly. It was rubbery and super fatty, pretty disappointing. What a great spot! Lots of seating options including a patio, regular tables, lounge area, couches, high tops. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and have fun cocktails. There is a to go station for desserts and coffee. The Nutella cookie was delicious. The mini pies are super cute too. The food was fast and tasty. Family friendly. We found this restaurant/bar on our way to dinner as we were looking for a good cocktail. We found a spot at the back bar and very cool experience and got packed at the bar pretty fast around 4pm on a Sunday. I was very satisfied with the bartenders service and the drink. Revel the Playing Field. It was a very unique old fashioned with some habeñero bitters which added a nice kick with heat. The food looked and smelled really good and I think I may have to stop back when in the Shoreview area. read more

My mom and I were in the area and decided to try out this spot for a quick dinner after running errands. Without a reservation on a Friday night, we were able to get a table quickly. There were a handful of meals on the menu that caught my eye, and I eventually decided to try the grain bowl with chicken. It was fresh, flavorful, and so delicious! I'd definitely come back to this spot for breakfast or dinner sometime to try their other menu items that sounded tasty! Our server was friendly and we enjoyed the trendy but still comfortable atmosphere of this spot! Quick tip - We were seated at a high top table that had uncomfortable stools without any back rest. No big issue, but next time I'd ask for a table with regular chairs so we could be a bit more comfortable. read more

This is a nice place. I sat at the bar, traveling solo for work, bar tender was nice and suggested a few of his favorites. I had the specialty burger of the week, it was awesome. Burger had bacon, cheese, and wild mushrooms, tasty stuff. The fries are cut thin and crispy, I like that. Fries were served with something similar to marinara sauce, was a first for me but enjoyable. Beers were $6.49 had the SKA tropical hazy, I recommend this beer. read more

I recently had breakfast at Oliver's-one of my favorite restaurants. I ordered an omelet that came with a very small lettuce salad on the plate. Most restaurants that serve omelets serve it with hash browns or toast. I asked if I could add toast and the server said that that would be a $4.99 add on! I thought that the price was absurd so I declined. The omelet was great and the server was very nice. I would like for the restaurant to serve something along with the omelet other than a small salad. If one wants toast charge say $2 not $5. I love the staff here and the ambiance. Yesterday was the first time I had been to Oliver's, I kept reading really good things so I decided to try it by getting a To-go order. The online system has everything it looks like except the fish and meat specials, although you probably could call for those. It was very easy to order online and you can get text updates about your order, which was nice. Everyone was very friendly and helpful when I was there to pick up my food. We got the jerk chicken tacos, fish tacos, empanadas and and order of fries. The chicken tacos were good but as Someone who likes spicy food it wasn't spicy at all and I couldn't taste any jerk seasoning. That being said they were still good tacos. The fish were good, it's fried fish and it did have a little bite to it. The empanadas were my favorite I will for sure get these again they have shredded meat, corn, black beans and cheese in them. They come with salsa and habanero aioli (very spicy, I forgot what came with it and tried a big glob on a French fry it is very good though just be aware) the fries were okay, they are thinly cut and honestly by the time I got home were kind of soggy even with putting them in the oven for a little bit. I think those are a side for at the restaurant. Lastly, while I was there I grabbed one s'mores and one lemon meringue mini pie. The s'mores is very very chocolatey and the lemon meringue is very sweet. Both are good but I think I prefer the lemon. Overall, we did enjoy everything and there are some other things I want to try, so We will be back. They all had masks on for covid, I'm not sure about gloves or any other preventive measures as the kitchen was around the corner and I couldn't see. That being said as someone who takes covid very seriously I felt safe. read more

This is my new brunch date spot with my gal pal and we've had a great experience each time we've dined in for breakfast. Our first time we shared the burrito which was good but didn't knock my socks off and their potatoes are almost like au gratin style - the second time I had them I asked them to make them crispy, they were delicious. My friend ordered the pancakes with all these fancy fixings of lemon and crumble I had a bite and it was so good, too bad I'm a savory breakfast person (but it's nice to have friends that share their sweet breakfasts) the service has always been great and I love the decor here, great open space with natural lighting and views of the kitchen . read more

Oliver's was a nice find. I live in Saint Paul, and my girlfriend lives in Mounds View. It was a perfect midway point for us to meet. It's right off Rice Street exit. They are always service friendly. Sit at the bar or grab a table. They can get busy. read more

I gave 4 out of five stars because servers were slow to clear tables and socialized more than worked. Food tasted very good the margarita pizza was excellent and made properly. Lobster tacos were tasty, but could definitely use a little bit more lobster in them had 3 to 4 tiny pieces the size of a quarter in each taco. Our server was very friendly, but could be a little bit more attentive. Most of the wait staff is pretty young. The chef is putting out tasty food but could use a more mature wait staff to match the food quality and creativity. I'd give the margarita pizza a 9.5 out of 10 comparing it to Trevail's Pig Ate my Pizza. Make reservations on a week night too to avoid long waits. Good if you e got a picky crowd and just need something. Also, that lack of restaurant choices in the area bode well for this place. The service was always decent. Great Bloody Mary, decent atmosphere. Tall ceilings and lots of natural light. I didn't really enjoy the food and the menu is a little confusing. Homemade ketchup was the highlight to okay fries. We came late at night and it was snowing so it was a bit tough to see the signs but make sure that you park in the center lane that is designated for the restaurant and not for the apartment. Service was pretty rotten once we sat down... it took forever for the server to acknowledge we had sat down and even longer to get waters (came when we finally got our food). I was craving burgers and this was the closest place that was still open around 930-ish but the food was pretty subpar and unremarkable. Burger Pattie's were very bland and not worth the price. Will not be going back and will likely just hit up Burger King next time. read more

Best mussels I have had in the US, if not ever. They come with a thick tomato based sauce with some sausage. The lobster tacos were also great and they make a killer old fashioned. I've driven by many times but didn't realize what a gem it was. Will definitely be back. read more

Cool ambiance and the restaurant wasn't particularly noisy like some restaurants tend to be. The service was fine. The food was tasty. I would like to go back and try a few other items on their menu. I made a reservation from their website for a Saturday night dinner and we were seated immediately upon arrival. My husband and I went here a couple times. This place is gorgeous. It is so well decorated. I can't wait for the summer to come so we can sit in the patio. We ordered the loaded tots and garlic mushroom pizza. Everything tasted so good. Our server was really nice. She helped accommodate are vegetarian needs. Their bakery has some amazing goods. We live in the apartments above the restaurant so naturally playing a dangerous game. I will say we have yet to venture into the depths of the menu, but what we have tasted have been phenomenal. I don't ever pay for avocado toast on a menu, but for some reason Oliver's spoke to me and...definitely the only avocado toast worth your money on a restaurant menu that I've found. The brussel sprouts are a must too, if you like something with a kick! The ambiance is really cool inside--different light fixtures and an elongated open space. I will be editing this review as we plan to go much much more often. read more

Service was slow and inattentive. Had to get up and ask one of the 4 wait staff rolling silverware for a refill of coffee and the condiment requested when meal was delivered.
